Savannah

Do you ever think of me
When you lay your head down
Do you ever think of me
When he ain't around
Do you ever wonder why
Our love couldn't be
Ever since you said goodbye
Do you ever think of me
Chorus:
Savannah
The memory just won't fade
Savannah
I sure wish you'd stayed with me
Savannah
Do you ever see my face
In your new lover's eyes
Has my memory been erased
Am i out of your life
I still remember our first night
We made love so tenderly
So when he doesn't hold you right
Do you ever think of me
Chorus
If he ever lets you down
Happiness just can't be found
I'll still be here hangin' 'round
Savannah
Savannah
(do you ever think of me)
... repeat to fade

Dzit Bizhi Adini, I

[In the Navajo Language the
title is 'Mountain with no name.']
Part 1

Let us go, you and I,
To the Henry Mountains,
Way up high, tracking bison
At 10,000 feet; purebred bison,
That can hear our bare feet, and scatter.
No one to alarm us,
Since love has been breeding
Like the bison over the continent.
But I have to ask whether I love you:
If you are a calyx I do;
If you are but a shankshaft I don't know; if you are a morel who's to say.
And what if we happen to intertwine,
High on sunlit limestone porches, in those
Nameless Mountains.
Would the bison be
Aware?

Hard Hearted Hannah

In old Savannah
I said Savannah
The weather there is nice and warm
The climate's of a southern brand
But here's what I don't understand
They've got a gal there
A pretty gal there
Who's colder than an artic storm
Got a heart just like a stone
Even nice men leave her alone
They call her "hard hearted Hannah"
The vamp of Savannah
The meanest gal in town
Leather is tough, but Hannah's heart is tougher
She's a gal who loves to see men suffer
To tease them and thrill 'em
To torture and kill 'em
Is her delight they say
I saw her at the seashore with a great big pan
There was Hannah pourin' water on a drownin' man
She's hard hearted Hannah
The vamp of Savannah, G-A
The call her "hard hearted Hannah"
The vamp of Savannah
The meanest gal in town
Talk of your cold, refridgerating mamas
Brotha she's a polar bear's pajamas
To tease them and thrill 'em
To torture and kill 'em
Is her delight they say
An evening spent with Hannah sitting on your knees
Is like travelin' through Alaska in your BVDs
She's hard hearted Hannah
The vamp of Savannah, G-A
Can you imagine a woman as cold as Hannah?
She's got the right name "the vamp of Savannah"
Anytime a woman can take a great big pan
Start pourin' water on a drownin' man
She's hard hearted Hannah
The vamp of Savannah, G-A
Spoken: Ooh! She's sweet as sour milk.

Ble Savannah

Blue Savannah song
Oh blue Savannah song
Somewhere 'cross the desert
Sometime in the early hours
In a restless world
On the open highway
My home is where the heart is
Sweet to surrender to you only
I send my love to you
Blue Savannah song
Oh blue Savannah song
Racing 'cross the desert
At a hundred miles an hour
To the orange side
Through the clouds and thunder
My home is where the heart is
Sweet to surrender to you only
I send my love to you
I'm on my way back and your love will bring me home (Say that your loving will bring me home)
I'm travelling fast and your love will bring me home (Say that your loving will bring me home)
Will I discover that your love will bring me home? (Dream away, darling)
That your love will bring me home? (Yeah)
Somewhere 'cross the desert
Sometime in the early hours
To the orange side
Through the clouds and thunder
My home is where the heart is
Sweet to surrender to you only
I send my love to you
Home is where the heart is
Sweet to surrender to you only
I send my love to you

Working Joe Tension

Unlike the war in Iraq

An Anecdote

Swooning over the Savannah

Camelias blossom

Hope is as bright

as the sun

shining down

On the Savannah River.

Motionless Movement

The water stirs

The war is over.

The Story

The War has just begun

so says Rush Radio) 1)

It’s been tug, tug, tugging along

It seems … forever.

Working Joe singing

Let the ideologues

Of this concocted war

Allow bushie, chainy, rumsy, and wolfy

To understand their failure.

Let gingry, Gingrich, Neocon
Stand and be true to his word
Stand in front of
Sunni + Shia + Kurd viewpoints

A new Millennium
Just like the old one – The Crusades (2) _
Two hundred years,
The nightmare, all over again.

Push IRAQ,
Push bushie, chainy, rumsy,
And now condie,

Push US money,
Moving into the trillions
US economy
left behind

Good-bye
To the Working Joe.

Unlike the war in Iraq

The Georgia Mockingbird

Surveys his Savannah domain

And cries tooah, tooah :

Sorry Working Joe

This war’s a lie.

Money

An introductory lecture

This morning we shall spend a few minutes
Upon the study of symbolism, which is basic
To the nature of money. I show you this nickel.
Icons and cryptograms are written all over
The nickel: one side shows a hunchbacked bison
Bending his head and curling his tail to accommodate
The circular nature of money. Over him arches
UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, and, squinched in
Between that and his rump, E PLURIBUS UNUM,
A Roman reminiscence that appears to mean
An indeterminately large number of things
All of which are the same. Under the bison
A straight line giving him a ground to stand on
Reads FIVE CENTS. And on the other side of our nickel
There is the profile of a man with long hair
And a couple of feathers in the hair; we know
Somehow that he is an American Indian, and
He wears the number nineteen-thirty-six.
Right in front of his eyes the word LIBERTY, bent
To conform with the curve of the rim, appears
To be falling out of the sky Y first; the Indian
Keeps his eyes downcast and does not notice this;
To notice it, indeed, would be shortsighted of him.
So much for the iconography of one of our nickels,
Which is now becoming a rarity and something of
A collectors’ item: for as a matter of fact
There is almost nothing you can buy with a nickel,
The representative American Indian was destroyed
A hundred years or so ago, and his descendants’
Relations with liberty are maintained with reservations,
Or primitive concentration camps; while the bison,
Except for a few examples kept in cages,
Is now extinct. Something like that, I think,
Is what Keats must have meant in his celebrated
Ode on a Grecian Urn.
Notice, in conclusion,
A number of circumstances sometimes overlooked
Even by experts: (a) Indian and bison,
Confined to obverse and reverse of the coin,
Can never see each other; they are looking
In opposite directions, the bison past
The Indian’s feathers, the Indian past
The bison’s tail; (c) they are upside down
To one another; (d) the bison has a human face
Somewhat resembling that of Jupiter Ammon.
I hope that our studies today will have shown you
Something of the import of symbolism
With respect to the understanding of what is symbolized.

Sunday In Savannah

One more
Sunday in Savannah
hear the whole creation shoutin'
Praise the Lord
see them flinging out the banner
while the congregation says amen
Young folk
tendin' Sunday School
they sing merrilly 'bout the golden rule
horse sense preaching all the day
they all hollar in the righteous way
It's time for me to call on Mother Hannah
while she sits there wishing for her last reward
one more Sunday in Savannah
one more Sunday in Atlanta
it's the same thing
same feeling
Don't ya dare
go fishin' son
Amen

Is It You're Day Today?

Vitamins and minerals
Flowing through the air
Everything is rhythmical
Body's in repair

Genuine but strenuous
The cars are whizzing by
Anything is topical
So bad you want to fly

Mirrors shining through and through
But two and one makes two, that's two

Waking up in hospital
Nurses taking care
Feeling philosophical
And radically aware

There is nothing in the way
I wonder how he's feeling
Today

Looking on the computers
As Brain juice is diluted
Waiting for the name to call
Avoiding many brawls

Green sign looms
Big green sign looms
Big green sign looms onward
Is it your day today?

Savannah Fare You Well

There is something in the wind tonight
Some kind of change of weather
Somewhere some devil's mixing fire and ice together
I got a feeling that the dark side of the moon is one the rise
Black as a crow's feather
I could stay another day or two
But what's the use of stalling
Deep in the winter even holdout leaves start fallin'
Lately every night above the declarations of our love
I hear the road callin'
It's such a fragile magic
A puff of wind can break the spell
And all the golden threads are frail as spider webs
Savannah fare you well
In a vision I had yesterday
It rained so hard that I drowned
While I waited for a hurricane to die down
The raging water rolling over me was wild as a heart
That love cannot tie down
It's such a fragile magic
A puff of wind can break the spell
And all the golden threads are frail as spider webs
Savannah fare you well

After The Great Flood

after the great flood
it was the black crow which was first
allowed to fly,
Moses had confidence on its
aggression,
it did not come back you know that well,
it puked on dead flesh and
flew away
deciding on its own now
charting its own
destiny,

then it was the pigeon's turn to serve
coy and shy and yet obedient
it came back with a twig and a leaf

whether this is all symbolism or not
an interplay and contrast between black and white
crow and pigeon, good or evil
disobedience or impunity, i don't
go into a hairsplitting
or argument with you

but i have to admit, i like to be that black crow.
i never want to be the pigeon that you believe i am.

The Spirit Of Crazy Horse

This world is of me
And I am of it
It makes me who I am
What I must be
The birds fly freely
They are my family
Teaching freedom
The bear and buffalo - my family
Teaching strength, endurance
The beaver and tortoise - my family
Teaching perseverance, patience
The wolf - my family
Teaching loyalty, friendship
The fox - my family
Teaching wisdom, insight
The air - my breath
The river - my blood
The grass - my bed
The starry night - my blanket
To remove any piece of this
Diminishes me
Suffocates me
Destroys me
When I fight
Not only for my people but my family
To die fighting is the way of my family
To resist servitude until my death is honorable
The time of resistance is now
To fight or be broken
To stand tall - not to crawl
The day my breath joins the wind will be a good day.

Voltaire

The little may contrast with the great, in painting, but cannot be said to be contrary to it. Oppositions of colors contrast; but there are also colors contrary to each other, that is, which produce an ill effect because they shock the eye when brought very near it.

Piano Key Color Stream

The white and black spruce
That edge so well
In sharp melodies of contrast.

The piano key color stream
Mesh like light in a simile
And jive so unexpectedly,
And sway
with a rhythm
that contrives intravenously
Over interlocutor’s musical frequency’s
.
Black and white.
Hard.
Keys.
Ledgers.
Who build and perform
With nouns and adjectives
And odd punctuation.
But are so different?

A Teaching Of The Facts Can Relax

Vulnerability when needed,
Can attract true love.
With a getting of some pity too.

A vulnerability when needed,
Can attract true love.
With a bit of innocence,
That can put one in the mood.

And when,
Facts of life are slow...
A teaching of the facts can relax.
A teaching of the facts,
Can get one to relax.

And when,
A nervousness sets in...
A teaching of the facts can relax,
In those moments.
A teaching of the facts can relax.

And when,
Eyes begin to cry...
A teaching of the facts can relax,
In those moments.
A teaching of the facts can relax.
A teaching of the facts can relax.

Vulnerability when needed,
Can attract true love.
With a teaching of the facts to relax,
In those moments.
A teaching of the facts can relax.
