Addicted

I wonder since I woke up this morning,
The air is seeming more aromatic..
Although books nd papers are a scene of Indian crowd,
My room is seeming quite systematic!

As I see through my windowpanes,
Can't believe I see the rain falling in the cold...
Who says, I've lost my head?
Truth is that my heart's stolen before I could hold...

The wall is asking me, 'Hey bro! On me,
Why have you sticked formulae of trigonometry?
Looking your facebook account & mobile inbox,
I would rather have bourne a collection of smiley! '

I answered, ' I'm smart in it,
I don't need to remember those,
But, I do forget the formulae..
Like I did when I saw that rose...! '

The wall agreed but the curtain argued,
'You're rude with me, as when in another room you are
And your mobile phone vibrates, you don't care of me..
Push me and play the typing tone, in which, good only few are..'

I replied, ' I'm sorry, I can't wait to see the text..
And reply at my usual speed...!
Now it's true that I'm addicted to someone..
And she is all I need...! '

The wall and the curtain teased me;
But the door said, 'Oh, my son,
Are you serious that she's the one,
Or, my boy, is it just for fun? '

I responded, ' It isn't a good question,
As it is clear from my behaviour...
My thumbs and my eyes are addicted to her..
And the rest of the body is seeming heavier...! '

The door agreed & I asked myself..
Why am I going through this all...?
I raise up and I say Yes, I am addicted

We have seen the power of the oceans
Don't cry with eyes wide open
Our loved ones have all been stolen

Tsunamis and earthquakes
Buildings shake
Buildings break
And you forever weep with painful heartaches
Asking silently 'Does the earth make mistakes? '

Misery and unspeakable floods
The dead lay buried in pounds of mud
And the sadness in their eyes is not odd
Is this the great power of GOD?

Report Of An Adjudged Case

Between Nose and Eyes a strange contest arose,
The spectacles set them unhappily wrong;
The point in dispute was, as all the world knows,
To which the said spectacles ought to belong.

So the Tongue was the Lawyer and argued the cause
With a great deal of skill, and a wig full of learning,
While chief baron Ear sat to balance the laws,
So famed for his talent in nicely discerning.

In behalf of the Nose, it will quickly appear,
And your lordship, he said, will undoubtedly find,
That the Nose has had spectacles always in wear,
Which amounts to possession time out of mind.

Then holding the spectacles up to the court, -
Your lordship observes they are made with a straddle,
As wide as the ridge of the Nose is, in short,
Designed to sit close to it, just like a saddle.

Again, would your lordship a moment suppose
('Tis a case that has happened and may be again),
That the visage or countenance had not a Nose,
Pray who would or who could wear spectacles then?

On the whole it appears, and my argument shows
With a reasoning the court will never condemn,
That the spectacles plainly were made for the Nose,
And the Nose was as plainly intended for them.

Then shifting his side, as a lawyer knows how,
He pleaded again in behalf of the Eyes,
But what were his arguments few people know,
For the court did not think they were equally wise.

So his lordship decreed, with a grave solemn tone,
Decisive and clear, without on if or but, -
That whenever the Nose put his spectacles on,
By daylight or candlelight - Eyes should be shut.

Eyes wide open
Still, some don't see.
Stares unfocused
Fixated, not free.
What is needed
to make them blink?
What is needed
to make them think?

A rude awakening
interrupting their trance.
An unexpected jolt
that gives them a chance
to become aware
and stop the stare.

Eyelids shut
will open the mind
and allow the seer
to eventually find
what could not be seen

A man and a woman were in love
In spirit, by mind and with soul.
Now she is gone off the earth.
Her presence had soothed his soul.
The remembrance of her burnt his sap.
Her vision gave light to his eyes.
Her absence torched his eyes.
The world was nothing to them.
Were they in turn to the world?
No roads could reach them.

Thick frame, thin glasses,
An old spectacles,
A keep sake,
An inheritance rarest
From my dad dearest.

Crises, tensions, frustrations…..
Struggles, triumphs, delights…..
On my dad’s spectacles
Life its imprints left,
Which often I felt alone left.
