Evening Star
the sky is a darker shade of blue
a spellbinding mood setting tone
that would inspire an artiste to his brush
to romance with a spanish evening
the moon displays her queenly presence
with a clear and eloquent beam
as if it has just climbed out of a bath
cleansed of all smudge
a solid crown of confidence
that imbibes into stage artistes
that self assurance is the sky of their career
how it could win heavenly admirers
and the evening stars, they twirl
like ballet dancers in their closets
devising the best means to get their
facets to sparkle like a hard to get gemstone

Evening In June
(Van Morrison)
By the light of the moon
When the night holds the secrets
Of the sleepy lagoon
I'm contemplating moonlight
On the water
When I'm walking with you
On an evening in June
On an evening in June
It can get so sentimental
When I'm thinking of you
And I can't think of anything
Except being with you
When the summer is through
On an evening in June
On an evening in June
Well it lifts me up
When I'm talking to you
On an evening in June
When the flowers are in bloom
And the sky is so blue
Well there's so many things
Taking place
That it's hard to keep up with it all
Keep your eye on the ball
And to make the right call
When we're longing for fall
On this evening in June
[Instrumental break]
On an evening in June
Well it lifts me up
When I'm talking to you
On an evening in June
When the flowers are in bloom
And the sky is so blue
Well there's so many things taking place
That it's hard to keep up with it all
Keep your eye on the ball
And to make the right call
When we're longing for fall
On this evening in June
By the sleepy lagoon
On an evening in June
By the light of the moon

Guests of Sun, Moon
the sun has fins
it swims through
the clear blue sky
casting lights off
its shimmering
gold scales
the moon has legs
it runs and glides
through the dark night
a lantern in hand
lighting up a poetic
landscape
the stars are
clever dancers
that twist, twirl, swirl,
in glistening
celestial outfits
at the behest
of sun and moon

The Sun and The Moon
As the Sun
Sets on the Sea
With its reddish glow
And orange hues...
The day shades in for me
Awakening the
Night of Darkness
Within me...
And the setting Sun
On the horizon
Beckons me
Nearer to it
As if asking me
To seek shelter
In its radiant warmth
And magnanimous
Splendour...
Yet when I see
The swirling waters
Of the Sea...
With their myriad colours
Reflecting the Setting Sun's
Evening Glory -
I remember that
It is all a mirage
For the very same Sun
Inviting me in with all
Its Grandeur -
Can Scorch me dry
On one of those days
When it is bright and shining
In the clear, blue sky.
So I see it,
Cherish it
From far-away...
I love the sun setting
On the Sea
It is a lovely sight for me
Every day
Yet - I always revert back
To my night of darkness
When the sun sets in
Even if it is lonely and
Shadowy out here...
I still prefer
The coolness of the night
The bright, starry delight
Of the sky and the stars
And in that darkness -
That still, sombre mood
Of being alone, solitary
And so very lonely...
The tears in my eyes
Speak to my Beloved
Sans any words
Nor any letters
Yet feelings galore
Dreams aplenty...
The beautiful Moon
with its subtle grace
Takes the place
Of my messenger of love.
In its blue moonlight
I bask and ask -
Questions aplenty
To my Beloved.
And I wait and I wait
For the answers to come
Drifting by...
Like the soft evening breeze
And the cool night air
Rejuvenating me,
Arousing me
Teasing me
Making love to me...
Revitalising and
Refreshing me -
From lands afar,
Across the miles
Over the seven seas.
Like a clandestine affair
Of the Night
Amidst the stars and the sky
Where I laugh and I cry
With You
In my Fantasies...
Like it happens every night
When the Sun goes down
And ushers in the Night -
And Yes - The Witness
Of this night long
Love affair...
Fantasising without a care -
Remains my messenger of love:
The eternal Moon
With its blue moonlight.

Now Tell Me
Now tell me
what evening romance
I must endure
to lust over this magnificent skyline
and euphoric vista
in the eye of the storm
there are grey clouds
haloed with glowing tints
luring the cluster of trees
and innocent brush of breeze
lull the mind
like a glass of red wine
stirring desire
to cry for more
I watch in awe
and crave this view will last
as long as the sky
wears new dresses everyday
matching the mood
in my being
I am doused in happiness
just to view
the rapture of the evening.

Evening Star
I travelled to a distant shore
I felt I had to go
An inner voice had called me there
But why I did not know
I saw the evening star rise up
Shining out to sea
And now I understand at last what it means
What it all means
Evening star I can see the light
Evening star guiding me so bright
I used to tempt fate
I couldnt see straight
I faltered through my younger days
Never knowing where I was going
Then something helped me penetrate the haze
Evening star I can see the light
Evening star guiding me so bright
Now I am stronger
The haze no longer
Ruins my future destiny
Such inspirations and new sensations
Pull up these string ties chasing me
Evening star I can see the light
Evening star guiding me so bright
Im home once more, much better for
The things that I have found
Much wiser now, so simple how
Each time I turn around
I see the evening star rise up
Shining out on me
And now I understand at last what it means
What it all means
Evening star I can see the light
Evening star guiding me so bright

Rainbow Sky
Tonight, I saw a radiant rainbow sky:
Stunning colours, which caught my eye.
Shades of blue, yellow, peach, and red:
Absolutely amazing, it has to be said!
It wasn't very long after the sun had set:
It was an evening sky, which I won't forget.
It was Nature's show, at the close of day,
And I had trouble tearing my eyes away.
I wonder how all those colours appear,
And how they look so bright and clear?
The horizon never looked quite so pretty:
That darkness fell, really was a great pity.
Once darkness fell, there no colours left.
Losing the rainbow sky, I felt quite bereft.
I saw the sky ablaze with colours of fire;
Of seeing such sights, I doubt I'll ever tire.
Away from the horizon, but not too far,
Were a crescent moon, and twinkling star.
This patch of sky had a much darker hue:
I guess some may call it ‘midnight blue.'
In the night sky, the moon and stars shone:
Brighter still, once the daylight had gone.
Tired out, I snuggled down in my cosy bed,
With moon and stars shining over my head.

There Were Late Afternoons
There were late afternoons when as a child
I would see the tall popular trees
making the pale blue sky seem much higher
where they grew next to the old farm dam
with there branches whispering
in the early night breeze,
with doves and finches calling
from their nests in the shelter of these trees,
when an early moon would appear
and the evening star would suddenly start twinkling
blue-white in its sheer brightness against a darker blue sky,
like a mother goose leading all of the other stars.
There were early evenings when the sun
died with its deep red glow touching
the hillocks that were covered in sugar bushes,
and red flowering aloes,
when the scent of protea flowers was sweet on the air,
when blue changed to darker black,
when darkness came suddenly
and a myriad of stars sparkled all over the sky
while in the distance fires came to life
at the rural mud huts, while jackals
and dogs started to howl at the bright yellow moon,
while I knew that mother would be home soon.

Moon, We Look to You.
Moon, you have a shade of blue tonight –
Is it something that you saw or heard?
Only yesterday, your tone was proud and bright,
Yellow silver, full, and so assured.
Moon, despite the clarity of sky,
Metaphors of cloud that fluff with grey
Drift across your rounded face to spy;
Feeding back, there's awfully much to say.
Moon, you have a role to play up there –
We below must bear the earthly pain.
Duty bound, we shoulder sorrows fair –
You are free from our grotesque disdain.
Moon, we depend on you to shine
When the sun retires down below.
Add to that your grandest role divine:
Tidal Lord, to keep the seas in tow!
Moon, I hope you take to heart our plea –
Needless is the reason for your blue.
Beaming, you should give the night its glee:
We're despairing – so we look to you.

Sweetheart
What you think about you and me baby, going one on one
Say what
JD y'all
So So Def
MC y'all
I'm the man to fulfill your needs
Get you everything that you see in your dreams, baby
Let nothing and nobody tear us apart
And forever you'll be my sweetheart
Boy haven't you noticed a gleam in my eye
Because of you, I'm a little hypnotized
But every time you're with me, I feel so positive
That with a little love, something's got to give
A full moon is waiting in the twilight
Baby soon, you will come to be my night
Here we are hoping that we never part
Stay with me, baby won't you be my
Chorus:
Sweetheart
We could share a storybook romance
Won't you be my sweetheart
We could share a storybook romance
You are no Casanove
I know that you'll be true
And that's why I'm so in love with you
But each romantic evening, you leave me at my door
But tonight I'd like us to explore
A full moon is waiting in the twilight
Baby soon, you will come to be my night
Here we are hoping that we never part
Stay with me, baby won't you be my
Chorus
(Come on)
Na, na, na, na, na
Na, na, na, na, na
Na, na, na, na, na
Na, na, na, na, na, na, na
Oh
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Oh, ooh
Rap
Stars are bright, the mood is right
To keep me warm away form harm
Nowhere better than my baby's arms
Stars are bright, the mood is right
To keep me warm away from harm
Won't you be mine
Sweet...heart
Chorus
Win't you be my sweetheart, yeah
Oh baby, be mine
Baby
Let's get together and live happily ever after, oh
With no one to make us sad
Oh baby
Oh... yeah
You know I need your love

Now that youre gone away

Its been a lonesome day
Im in a blue blue mood
I miss your caress
I reach out to hold you
But youre not there
Its just my blue blue mood.
Maybe, someday, yeah love will come
And stay, and things will turn
How bright, oh oh oh but for tonight

Ich habe dich nie je so geliebt
I never loved you more, ma soeur
Than as I walked away from you that evening.
The forest swallowed me, the blue forest, ma soeur
The blue forest and above it pale stars in the west.
I did not laugh, not one little bit, ma soeur
As I playfully walked towards a dark fate -
While the faces behind me
Slowly paled in the evening of the blue forest.
Everything was grand that one night, ma soeur
Never thereafter and never before -
I admit it: I was left with nothing but the big birds
And their hungry cries in the dark evening sky.

A spring evening
Outside the irises flower yellow and purple
and I haven’t seen a red one yet
and there are some pink and white blossoms
on the fruit trees
and the streetlights burn continually
glowing orange-yellow
all day and all night
as if the municipality
does not know how to do things right
and in the fading evening light
the moon is full and white
and the evening star is already shining bright
and a hot breeze sweeps in
through the open windows
and I wonder when the first spring rain
is going to fall
and in the distance I see thunder
crashing down
in blue-white flashes, but the storm
is blown away and again the sky is clear
and the black speckled by stars.

Evening Coconut
The statue of liberty is breathing in the air
Atlantis is waiting down below.
Late at night, flashing lights are sighted in the air.
Its no secret, what everybody knows.
It really dont matter much, which way I go.
But remember to pull over in the storm.
Have you seen the evening coconut
Bobbing on the bay?
Standing on the waters edge of stone
Someone there besides you
To hear the words you say
To show you things your eyes have never known.
Evening coconut, evening coconut
Evening coconut, evening coconut
Evening coconut, evening coconut
Evening coconut, evening coconut
Evening coconut, evening coconut
The statue of liberty is breathing in the air
While atlantis is waiting down below.
Late at night, flashing lights are sighted in the air.
Its no secret, what everybody knows.

Evening coconut, evening coconut
Evening coconut, evening coconut
Evening coconut, evening coconut

The Poem Of The Evening Is A Quiet Poem
THE POEM OF THE EVENING IS A QUIET POEM
The poem of the evening is a quiet poem
It comes in gentleness with tired eyes
It does not know how long it will last
It believes a fresh breeze
And a simple song
Are all its needs
To feel happiness.
The poem of the evening this evening
Believes in life
Believes in Goodness of God
Believes it will somehow be alright.
The poem of the evening this evening
May be a foolish one
But it is a quietly happy one.
We need such poems sometimes
For life is hard in the long working days
And in the times of difficult idleness
When no dreams come.
Quiet and quiet
Soft as sleep
The poem of the evening this evening
Is a gentle one.

If you walk with me on the promenade
If you walk with me on the promenade
and see the setting sun marvellous and red
while the night sparkles and the sun goes to bed
dipping behind the horizon,
it’s last journey of the day being made
the streets will probably be half empty
and the evening a serenade
while the cloak of the day is shed,
the last of its rays have fled
to sparkle at other places
and the traffic lights shines in jade
and maybe you will let me persuade you
to walk to a restaurant
or no words between us will need to be said
and the wind will brush through your hair,
the night will be expectant,
blessed with a loveliness and even if you are afraid
I will tell you that you look beautiful and fair.

Dead Stars
dead stars
dead stars
do not shine
they are dead
and the twinklings are
gone
dead stars
all dead
falling to the sea
the moon grieves
stars are
moon's princesses
her diamonds
on her motherly bosom
dead stars
fall to the sea
they refuse
to die
they now live in the sea as starfishes having fallen from the skies
one dark, lonely, evening
of my life
seastars, name them sweetly
but starfishes to the most common fishermen here who make love
to the stinky fish vendors
for once tonight
the moon spreads to a certain fulness of emptiness
trying to hold
seastars
(they are called starfishes by children who smell salt
and rotten sea urchins chasing hemit crabs on the shore
they are burned by the sun
but they already know how to keep themselves safe
they know how to feed themselves
with squids those that sparkle at night in the shallow parts
of the sea)
trying to kiss
them
in fact,
yes the starfishes, all they have are memories of the stars
and they now hide
among the corals and the electric eels
regrets and remorse are always late and they always murmur it to
the oceanfloors
after their fall and no one wants to hear
everyone is busy feeding and escaping away from one another
here in the deeper part of the marine blue seas...

End of day thoughts.
The glory of the sunset fades.
The evening sky surrenders to
a nonstop flow of darkest blue.
Which overwhelms the pastel shades.
The evening stars come on parade.
A panorama we can view.
In hopes of seeing something new.
Although the stars we see displayed.
May well have burnt out long ago.
There is no way that we can know.
Which of the stars we think we see.
That twinkle brightly overhead,
are still alive and which are dead
We never will most probably.

Paradise Found
Up the mountainous path we climbed
through the ridges and valleys we walked
seeking adventure of a peculiar sort.
Down the steep ravines we paced
stopping at times to catch our breath
and to view the lovely country ahead.
On and on we made our way
until at dusk we were exhausted.
It would be here where we would make our stay
in an area that seemed to be lightly forested.
Under a clear night sky bright with stars shinning
we settled down eager to refresh ourselves and
made preparations to share our meal for the evening
seeming perhaps like some fugitive band.
A restful and joyous sleep we had that night
one that exceeded our expectations.
Some enchanted evening we experienced
one that was followed by no disillusionment;
awakening to the sweet fragrance of flowers and other delights.
It was as if we were in paradise it seemed................
We all looked around and beheld in awe
the serenity and beauty surrounding us all.
There were flowers of many types and hues
and fruit bearing trees from which to choose.
There were various animals at a stream nearby
and birds flying overhead in the clear blue sky.
There was everything here for us to see
that we almost no longer thought could be.
