A Poem for Valentine
the girls they feel like flowers today
touched, fresh and loved
something to keep each leaf
of memory textured like roses
forever an 18 year old who could
dig into their garden of recollections
for a robust bloom of romance
fhe flower sellers too grin like love wishes
on the bright bouquets sent out to paint up
the life of blessed girls who have been
praying for a rainbow to love paradise
how they wish everyday can be a Valentine
when eager boys would help pile up
the cash boxes with their months' savings
when bouquet of roses can be sold
at five times their price right up
to three in the early morning
every sidewalk cafe and restaurant too
are a roaring scene as love spreads
from mouth to mouth, heart to heart
when love is in the air everybody
shares it with somebody over the dinner table
lighted like a candle, coloured like a cezane,
flows like a piece of swirling waltz
our feet cant keep up with and melts
like little blocks of ice in our glass of wine
so that we can warm up and reach
out to each other for a time to remember

Garden Of Roses
My garden of roses is dead
All the most beautiful flowers have wilted
And now the winter is here
My garden of roses is dead
Like my love and my nurturing was nothing
And now the winter is here
My garden of roses is dead
Nothing but dust in the wind is left
And now the winter is here
My garden of roses is dead
Everything's gone and I feel so empty
And now the winter is here

My Dry Roses
Today is not your birthday,
However, it is a very illustrious day
To offer you the dry roses
That I soaked in a lot of love from head to toes.
These dried flowers, although picked some time,
Will infinitely remain fresh like a wrapped buried dime.
You will neither have to feed them like children,
Nor water them like the camellias in the vipers' garden.
My crystallized roses transcend the four seasons,
They are protected by deadly thorns and one crazy smurf;
The rocks are part of this solemn army.
There are no bad days on earth;
Every day has its own criteria and beauty.
My roses are endless like time and the horizon.

At Parting II
AND you could leave me now--
After the first remembered whispered vow
Which sings for ever and ever in my ears--
The vow which God among His Angels hears--
After the long-drawn years,
The slow hard tears,
Could break new ground, and wake
A new strange garden to blossom for your sake,
And leave me here alone,
In the old garden that was once our own?
How should I learn to bear
Our garden's pleasant ways and pleasant air,
Her flowers, her fruits, her lily, her rose and thorn,
When only in a picture these appear--
These, once alive, and always over-dear?
Ah--think again: the rose you used to wear
Must still be more than other roses be
The flower of flowers. Ah, pity, pity me!
For in my acres is no plot of ground
Whereon could any garden site be found,
I have but little skill
To water weed and till
And make the desert blossom like the rose;
Yet our old garden knows
If I have loved its ways and walks and kept
The garden watered, and the pleasance swept.
Yet--if you must--go now:
Go, with my blessing filling both your hands,
And, mid the desert sands
Which life drifts deep round every garden wall,
Make your new festival
Of bud and blossom--red rose and green leaf.
No blight born of my grief
Shall touch your garden, love; but my heart's prayer
Shall draw down blessings on you from the air,
And all we learned of leaf and plant and tree
Shall serve you when you walk no more with me
In garden ways; and when with her you tread
The pleasant ways with blossoms overhead
And when she asks, 'How did you come to know
The secrets of the ways these green things grow?'
Then you will answer--and I, please God, hear,
'I had another garden once, my dear'.

Rose Garden
I watched you in your
garden,
Roses growing every-
where.
Flowers were so lovely,
Perfume filled the air.
Touching them so
gently,
Creating a bouquet,
Tieing yellow
ribbons,
So they would'nt blow
away.
As I left the garden,
On that summer day
I turned and looked
once more,
Then slowly walked
away.
I admire your lovely
garden,
So happy I would be,
If I were the rosebud,
You touched so
tenderly.

a Sheaf of red roses
Today I saw
a sheaf of red roses,
which a florist displayed.
The petals was still closed
and was fresh,
as if just cut from the trunk.
The roses were spread wildly
and something of their fragrance,
drifted outside in the air.
The flowers caught
various people’s eyes and some bees,
were flying around at the door.
I just had to get those flowers,
but remembered
that my darling loves sweet peas more.

Every Year This Day
every year
this day
gets further
i cant see him
anymore
just a photo memory
golf club
wings
plastic
never semblance
enough of him
or of me
in him.
every year
this day creeps
further
just
out of grasp
so that i
outstretch
and fail.
he slips right through me
a ghost
a whisper
a lie.
every year
this day
i await dread
and then calm
quantifying fear
counting
recounting
little trinket tattoos
of memory added
to a jar
of years missed
days missed
like these,
where he cannot see me
or show me
what forever means.
i wonder today
what he'd say
if he knew i knew
such sorrow.
every year
this day
i feel more
often less
and that,
knowing he is slipping
away further,
hurts more than
that he is gone.

Coloured Roses
As we stood solemnly
looking down at that deep hole
each of us tears held in our eyes.
We bowed our heads
and a prayer to say
when someone placed a bouquet
of coloured roses on the ground
before they buried you away.
A stranger whom we did not know
smiled and serenely said to us
that these flowers represent their life,
and what they gave to us.
Red roses for the blood
that pumped around
a kind and generous heart.
Yellow roses for the smile
that they gave us
whenever we were around.
Blue roses represent the colour of their eyes
that looked at us softly when they were alive
and for the feelings, we feel within our hearts today.
Orange roses represent the sunset
beyond where they have gone today
and where we hope to meet with them again someday.
White roses for the eternal light
we all must pass though one day
and the purity of spirit they wrap around us each day.
Purple roses for the mourning cloak
each of us wear at times like this.
Theses colours represent the rainbow
wrapped around each life.
Your loved one has not left you
but passed through to the next phase.
The stranger then looked around
smiled serenely again at all of us
then slowly faded away.

In This Garden
In this garden
In this beautiful garden
The flowers and the grass
The stones and the water
The sculptures and all art
Sing a song
A song of beauty
A song of harmony
A song of hope
The wind whistles gently
Is it to the east?
Or is it to the west?
I don’t know and I don’t need to know
All is so beautiful
Hush…
Hush humanity
Hush…
I can feel the scent on y nostrils
The scent of the flowers
The sound of the water nearby welcoming
Peace
In this garden
In this beautiful garden
With beautiful flowers
Where art lives
Hush
Play the music
Let the flowers live the music
Let the drums be heard
Let the music come to life
Play the music
Let it be heard here today
In this garden
In this beautiful garden
With very beautiful flowers
Where art comes to life

Venus in the Garden
'Twas at early morning,
The dawn was blushing in her purple bed,
When in a sweet, embowered garden
She, the fairest of the goddesses,
The lovely Venus,
Roamed amongst the roses white and red.
She sought for flowers
To make a garland
For her golden head.
Snow-white roses, blood-red roses,
In that sweet garden close,
Offered incense to the goddess:
Both the white and the crimson rose.
White roses, red roses, blossoming:
But the fair Venus knew
The crimson roses had gained their hue
From the hearts that for love had bled;
And the goddess made a garland
Gathered from the roses red.

Flowers In The Rain
Woke up one morning half asleep
With all my blankets in a heap
And yellow roses gathered all around me;
The time was still approaching four
I couldnt stand it anymore
Saw marigolds upon my eider down.
Im just sitting watching flowers in the rain
Feel the power of the rain making the garden grow,
Im just sitting watching flowers in the rain
Feel the power of the rain keeping me cool.
So I lay upon my side with all the windows opened wide
Couldnt pressurize my head from speaking
Hoping not to make a sound I pushed my bed into the grounds
In time to catch the sight that I was seeking.
Im just sitting watching flowers in the rain
Feel the power of the rain making the garden grow,
Im just sitting watching flowers in the rain
Feel the power of the rain keeping me cool.
If this perfect pleasure has the key
Then this is how it has to be
If my pillows getting wet
I dont see that it matters much to me.
I heard the flowers in the breeze make conversation with the trees
Believed to leave reality behind me
With my commitments in a mess my sleep has gone away depressed
In a world of fantasy youll find me.
Im just sitting watching flowers in the rain
Feel the power of the rain making the garden grow,
Im just sitting watching flowers in the rain
Feel the power of the rain keeping me cool.

A Note That You Must Read When You Wake Up
before i embark on another trip today
i depart from the usual
silence, there is something inside me that wants
to
say something, like a note that i have written last night
which i put
inside my pocket and if by chance my tongue cannot get away
from its sealed
lips, i may just take that note and put it beside your table while
you are
still asleep, and if i had to, if i shall not forget, I'll put
a rose beside it,
the one that i pick from your garden, still fresh with dew on its
petals,
it is like, i only give what i take from you, a rose from your garden,
and a note from me, that despite all those stormy days,
i think, and this you must treasure like all the flowers that grow
in your garden, that which you water and nurture,
that it is my fault, that even if you cannot forgive me,
as i pack my bag, to give your flowers more space, and for you to be at peace, i, too, shall take a deep breath, saying
i still love you.

Sing Of Immortality
Tomorrow I feel
Tomorrow I see
Tomorrow I know shall never come
Today is the day that life begins
Today is the day we see thy truth
Today is the time to rejoice
Yesterday someone died, of pain and suffering
Yesterday may never be new,
Yet yestererday upon we thought ‘tomorrow will make this yesterday”
Tomorrow I feel
Tomorrow I see
Tomorrow I know shall never come, to me
So sing with me
As I sing to the
Of joy and happieness
Today today, will never be lost
Tomorrow shall always come
And yesterday shall be in our memory
Forever I stand
Forever I sing
Forever is what shall become, of me
So sing with me,
So sing with me,
Of joy and immortality

The Garden by Moonlight
A black cat among roses,
Phlox, lilac-misted under a first-quarter moon,
The sweet smells of heliotrope and night-scented stock.
The garden is very still,
It is dazed with moonlight,
Contented with perfume,
Dreaming the opium dreams of its folded poppies.
Firefly lights open and vanish
High as the tip buds of the golden glow
Low as the sweet alyssum flowers at my feet.
Moon-shimmer on leaves and trellises,
Moon-spikes shafting through the snowball bush.
Only the little faces of the ladies' delight are alert and staring,
Only the cat, padding between the roses,
Shakes a branch and breaks the chequered pattern
As water is broken by the falling of a leaf.
Then you come,
And you are quiet like the garden,
And white like the alyssum flowers,
And beautiful as the silent sparks of the fireflies.
Ah, Beloved, do you see those orange lilies?
They knew my mother,
But who belonging to me will they know
When I am gone.

Safe & Sound
Maybe this is forever
Forever fades away
Maybe this is a rocket into space
I dont want to be sad
I dont want to break down
After all I wont let go
Till youre safe and sound
Till youre safe and sound
Theres beauty in release
After all the scenes for you and me
I dont blame you for quitting
I know you really tried
Maybe we could have hold on through the night
Cuz I dont want to be lonely
I want to be scared
And all are friends are waiting there
Till youre safe and sound
Till youre safe and sound
Theres beauty in release
Theres no one left to please but you and me
Till youre safe and sound...
Feel like I couldve held on
Feel like I couldve let go
Feel like I couldve helped you
Feel like I couldve changed you
Feel like I couldve held on
Feel like I couldve let you
Feel like I was a stranger
Feel like I was an angel
Feel like I was a hero
Feel like I was a zero
Feel like I couldve touched you
Feel like I couldve saved you
Feel like I couldve moved you
Feel like I couldve held you
Feel like I couldve heald you
Feel like I couldve told you
Feel like I couldve loved you
Feel like I couldve loved you
Feel like I couldve loved you
Feel like I couldve loved you...

I dreamt of walking in a lovely garden
(after Percy Bysshe Shelley)
I dreamt of walking in a lovely garden
and it was in the time of spring
where sprouts appeared where the ground did harden
and everywhere I could hear birds sing.
Around me there were flowers everywhere,
irises in colours of yellow, purple and blue,
scented roses in white, orange and red that made me stare
at their particular lovely hue.
Everything was fresh and new after the rain showers
and in that garden I was somewhat cosy,
I wanted to pick a bunch of flowers,
tie them into a scented posy
and I wondered for who,
as no one to me was true.

I Recall..
Today, i recall you all
Across the winds born of yesterday
Over moments spent in growth and change
You, a breath-taking memory of my youth;
What are you all, but the heartbeat of my childhood?
When days lingered, it seemed, longer than forever-
When the Seattle rains caressed our nubile skin...
And the not too frequent sunlight graced our summering shoulders;
You are the Rose Garden of my growing years
And the fragrance of joy misting itself through Washington State air
The play times of hide and seek and tag; Of Christmas and Easter Egg hunts through recollections of sheer joy;
Today, i recall all of you...
In truth, you never left my heart or mind, ever! ! !
As friends, God parents, and Blessed Gifts
Who disappeared off of my horizons way too soon;
You are as engraved heartprints
Who left their most precious marks
Upon times-all too fleeting moments
Moments cherished, yeaterday, today and forever;
Yes, today, i recall you all! ! !

Take these roses all from me
Let me live, let me be
For a little while
Let my eyes,
See everything and nothing in their time
I do not mind
Who've guess I'd learn
To let the walls around me burn
Light up the hillside
My words, I ate them for so long and nothing changed
It was just the same
And I don't know if you see me
But I can tell you your face is clear
I will see you...
Forever
Forever
I will see you
Forever
Forever
Call me close once again
Call me teacher, call me friend
Just like the first time
Call my name, it echos around me in this room
Its all you
I don't know if you hear me there
But it's dark so no one cares
I will hear you...
Forever
Forever
I will hear you
Forever
Forever
I wanted you to be everything to me
Now I've got to learn to carry on
I know I cannot hide this emptiness inside
But nothing is the same since you've gone
Send me letters from above
Send me strength, send me love
Such sweet love
Sing me songs that echo in my head and in my heart
That's where you are
And I don't know if you feel me here
I can tell you one thing that's clear
I will feel you...
Forever
Forever
I will feel you
Forever
Forever
I will hear you
Forever
Forever
I will see you
Forever
Forever

Let me live, let me be

Today and Beyond Tomorrow…
Among flowers there are roses
Among roses there are thorns
... My life was so empty
Until you came along
It was not into my ear you wispered
But into my heart
Because you are the reason…
I fell in love atlast
You made me feel so special
In your own special ways
And now we are together
Loving each and every day
If only I could pen down
The way I feel about you
Today and beyond tomorrow
I shall only love you

Expectations
Are you waiting for me?
Am I waiting for you?
I hope you are not denying yourself happiness for my sake
I think at one time I loved you, I Think you might have loved me too
Unlike all the other girls, ideas of girls too
You were, you are different in so many ways and I don't think
That it was one-sided, when I think about you my heart does not sink
That was many years ago. Yet it feels fresh
But do you love me now? Do you wish that I would wait for you
Not seek love in other places, because I've found you...
Do I want that from you? Is that fair?
It's weird you aren't that far away- we could see each other
I think we want to, but we just don't
I don't know what to do, if I love another woman I would be crushed
If I learned you were still waiting there for me
Should we talk about this?
Can we talk about this?
What if there is no this
What if you didn't love me
Or you aren't waiting
Would it matter I'm waiting for you?
I'm not good at waiting I already have other crushes
Is that disloyal? unloving to you?
Does it matter?
Would it matter?
What do you expect of me and what do I expect of you
I don't want to wait forever
I don't want you to wait forever
I don't even know if you ever loved me.
Even if you read this would you know it is you?
I wish I could ask you about our expectations and who's waiting
I want to
But I don't know of I can deal with the answer
Yes or no they are both devastating
What then shall I do?
What will I do?
What am I gonna do?
Am I waiting for you?
