were sung for us

us into a sweet
wonderland, our own
paradise of Oz,
land of love, warm
kisses and pleasant dreams

and also mom, aunties
and uncles were so
creative and lively
I could not help
chuckle along to
their spontaneous

that praised me, assured me
swung me into a
halcyon wonderland

could not wait
to come acalling
with his ribtickling
zesty bassy lullabies
and captivating

help us remember words
so that we can one day
too swing the world - like
the cradle we were in
little wonder seventh
brother all alone had
titter the world away

Ramblings At 3am
It's almost 3 in the morning.
I haven't gone it sleep yet.
I've been listening to slam poetry for 4 hours now.
Don't ask me why,
Cause frankly I don't know.
Why don't you ask your sister.
I had to quickly use the potty
That's when these words came to my mind.
It's a little fucked up world in my head,
Although it's not much crazier then 911.
This may not make any sense to you,
Probably not even me in the morning.
Well sorry to cut this short,

Psalm for my Sister
I will lift my eyes and smile as I give thanks to my sister.
My radiant complicated sister, who is more than my sister,
she's my friend.
I will thank the good lord above that we were children together
I rejoice to remember playing house or barbie dolls.
Our secrets, our surprises, even our fights.
I feel deep longing for those days when we were little girls together,
