Repartee
'God you're grey! '
My rival said.
(I'd taken his favourite
Girl to bed) .
'Not only grey,
You're very fat! '
I shrugged my shoulders,
That was that.
But later on
That selfsame day,
I thought of LOTS
Of things to say
That were so clever;
Much too late!
My only solace now
My hate.
That's no solace,
But you see
I've never been good
At repartee.

Solace And Serenity
swimming around
two fish in a barrel
no one there to pull me out
they leave me to die
how could they know
whoever could know me
tied to your tales of woe
my tale to your stone
two angels hanging out upon the ceiling
watching all the stories we must tell
of solace and serenity
solace and serenity
a silence so sad
the water drains out
the oxygen is killing me
and all things i ever loved
lost a drop at a time
the lazy days drown
drift into a perfect sleep
baking in that mean old sun
i wish i could dance
to solace and serenity
solace and serenity
a silence so sad
solace and serenity
i just wanna dance
this might make you laugh
i don't mean to amuse you
but i just have a simple view
of where it went wrong
solace and serenity
solace and serenity
i just wanna dance

The Grey World
Grey nights in the wind,
And the grey-faced dead.
Grey hairs in my head,
And grey eyes in my mind.
Grey mists in the morn,
And grey waves that rave,
Grey mould on my grave,
And grey eyes forlorn.
Grey clouds in the sky,
And the grey world asleep,
Grey ghosts that sigh,
And grey eyes that weep.

Finding Solace
We all have troubled times
when days are full of woe
we need to find solace
but we don't know where to go.
So we look for it in drink
but that can make things worse
some even end up in hospital
looked after by a nurse.
Others find comfort with food
but too much can make you overweight
they say I'll cut back soon
but by then it can be far too late.
A lot look for comfort with Cigarettes
saying it brings solace to their need
but then they can become addicted
to the dangerous dreaded weed.
Many go searching for religion
hoping to find peace along the way
but as soon as things start to go wrong
they give up and don't bother to even pray.
So where can we find comfort and solace?
it's a lot harder to obtain than you think
if it's not in food, drugs, or the church,
and not in Tobacco and the demon drink.
What about if it doesn't even exist?
and solace can't be found anywhere,
we may discover it's all in the mind
and you won't find it as it's not even there!

Grey, Grey Sky
Someday I will ride the great bird
Into the sky, into the grey
And will take a bright secret of mine
Into the grey, grey sky.
And the light will come, piercing my eyes
Out of the sky, out of the grey
Come blinding and searing these eyes
Out of the grey, grey sky.
And I will find comfort in this
In the wide sky, in the wide grey
In the painful dark brightness of light
Light of the grey, grey sky.
My secret will fly away home
Into the sky, into the grey
And the great bird will follow it there
Into the grey, grey sky.
And I will be riding that bird
Bird of the sky, bird of the grey
And I will come home once again
Home to the grey, grey sky.
But for now I am weighted, earthbound
One of the mud, one of the ground
And I write this sad song to sad sound
Girl of the pavement sighs.

Glamorous, Sophisticated
What a mess - what a terrible mess - trial and
error is awful, I should have guessed; grey - I
HATE grey, unless tinted blue, black and grey
in bed linen are insupportable - to combat the
effect I constructed a bulwarks of pink-purple
covered notebooks on my side of the bed
I shall hide the black and grey pillowcase tonight,
already covered my favourite pillow with something
else, grey sucks colour out of everything - I wear
black to disappear but my bed should be HERE;
this is awful, one of my biggest mistakes - still,
we were constrained, nothing else in the shop
I hate shopping in any case, my new T-shirt too large,
the glamorous, sophisticated black and grey without
symbolical meaning, I fight it with the pink and green
of my paper doll - how did I ever acquiesce to some-
thing as bleak and menacing as this - oh yes, there
was nothing else, I should hang myself!

The Quantum Of Solace
When in distress you look for solace
But, know there is always a certain
Quantum of solace, in place,
In your mind space,
Reach it in peace and in no pace
That zone which can comfort you
In difficulties is within you
And get hold of it as and when you need
The quantum varies with people
Based on their impressions
Of the occurrings outside
You can enhance this solace domain
By trying to understand you, especially
Your nature and your reacting-to-situations pattern
Quantum of solace is least among those
Who wants to be special
Because of their haste
And note, not prompt, responses to demands
Quantum of solace improves
With weighed responses
Assessing situations objectively
And not self-biasedly or subjectively
An attempt to understand
Your standing is the essence
Of enlarged quantum of solace
Real mentors are those
Who have a very large solace quantum
And indirectly share their solacing space
To those who ask for comfort
You can do that too
And achieve that level
Where you require no solace
As you stay ever in peace
Irrespective of situations you are in
A self-directed exercise
To examine yourself
To scan your thoughts
To trace your dreams
And to develop skills to direct them,
Instead of their directing you,
Will make you yourself
A solace to others, who need comfort in distress

An Apology to My Lover
If looks could kill I'd soon be dead
Because of all the hurtful things I've said -
I know that I have treated you badly
But you're still the girl I loved so madly;
I'm really sorry for what I've done,
If this is a battle, then you have won -
I'm quite disgusted with the way I've been
And I don't blame you for calling me mean.
But what can I do to make amends?
I wish that we could still be friends,
Please, please forgive me, give me a chance
To turn the tables, ignite romance
Where everything seems dead and grey
Our love must shine another day!
I know I've got a bloody nerve,
You're much too good for me, I don't deserve
Your gentle ways, you're far too nice
And your love can lead me to Paradise.
Some men are born to break the rules
And some of them are bloody fools,
Please take me in your arms again,
I swear I'm not like other men,
Squeeze me forever, hold me tight,
Be my soul's solace in the dark midnight!

Wrinkles and Grey Hair (Children)
Mommy's getting wrinkles.
Daddy has grey hair.
It wasn't very long ago
when those things weren't there.
Wish I could smooth the wrinkles out
and darken Daddy's hair
to stop the changes going on.
It makes me feel so scared.
Grampa, does it mean they'll die?
They have wrinkles and grey hair!
I never used to worry
before those things were there.
Grampa said to look at him.
There were lots of wrinkles there,
and on his head, a snowstorm
was the color of his hair.
'Wrinkles only come to point
where smiles were, here and there.
It's your mommy's turn to get some
for the happy times you've shared.'
His white, and Daddy's grey hair
well, it was there to show
who had lived the longest time
so everyone could know!
Grampa said it's part of life.
We love, we learn, we live.
We earn grey hair and wrinkles,
they're prizes only God can give.
There's Solace In Verse
A song's but a way of telling a story,
It can be about love even sadness or glory,
Whatever the lyrics you can guarantee,
By singing those words you can set yourself free.
While listening to music be it night or day,
The song takes you over you get carried away
Before you know it you are singing along,
You become that person, the singer of that song.
When you're writing the lyrics ensure they're kept terse,
For that's when you will find,
‘' There's Solace In Verse ''
That's the wonder of music regardless of type,
It makes you feel good you believe all the hype,
A song can lift you when you're feeling grief,
If you need cheering up it will bring you relief.
That's the wonder of music for like it or not,
It stirs up a feeling which just cannot be bought,
Next time you feel down if you just want to cry,
Put on some music go on give it a try.
Before you know it those thoughts will disperse,
Very soon you'll believe,
‘' There's Solace In Verse ''
So become a believer play your favourite song,
If you don't feel the vibes you can say I was wrong,
But that won't happen for I know that it's true,
When you play the right music it will happen to you.
From that special feeling you will not want to hide,
It will change your perspective; it can turn the tide,
Before you know it your life has unfurled,
You'll be back to your best, on top of the world.
In the lyrics and music you will soon immerse,
It's then you'll have learned,
‘‘ There's Solace In Verse ‘'
Grey Wolves Grey
The Russian march is soft and slow,
Through dust and heat, or slush and snow,
When the Russian skies hang grey and low
To the frontiers far where the Russians go;
And they march to-night and they march to-day
Like the grey wolves grey, like the grey wolves grey.
Nor song nor sound their track reveals,
Save the ceaseless “clock” of the waggon wheels;
But a rift in the mist shows a glint of sun
On the long, dark shape of a toiling gun;
And they strain by night and they drag by day
To a distant goal, like the grey wolves grey.
As the horses toil at the ends of trains,
And the ends of roads on the Blacksoil Plains.
And Ivan digs in the frozen clay,
And he rolls the logs a bed to lay
For a gun that’s five hundred miles away,
But as sure to come as the grey wolves grey.
He is marching on with a purpose grand,
For brother Slav in another land;
Whose tongue, perchance, he cannot understand.—
But he knows the cry from the far-away,
And he smells the blood like the grey wolves grey.
And Ivan’s wife in her den at home,
While hunger looms and his lean wolves come—
With her grey-black bread like the Darling mud,
And her tea-bricks bound with the bullock’s blood—
She shields her cubs by night and day
Like the crouching sluts of the grey wolves grey.
And I march with Ivan where’er he be,
With the foreign blood that is strong in me,
And the love and the hate that is fantasy,
Like the ghosts of a father’s memory.
With the blood that is strange to us to-day
As the strange wild blood of the grey wolves grey.
Grey wolves,
Grey wolves—
The strange wild blood of the grey wolves grey.

Grey Windows...
grey windows, grey buildings,
grey streets, grey skies...
grey figures staring,
grey deals are done!
manipulate gas prices,
manipulate food...
manipulate the economy,
manipulate the election.
right and wrong,
never thought of.
hungry mouths and desperation.
win the war,
never raise a gun,
bodies strewn everywhere!
money makes gods,
without conscience or morals.
human lives just tokens,
that buy trinkets for demons!
flag draped caskets,
the stink of money overwhelms.
while patriots dig graves,
for their mothers and sisters.
right and wrong,
never thought of.
hungry mouths and desperation.
pick a President,
who'll stand silent,
as birds of prey pick the bodies!
grey windows...

All Things Must Pass
Sunrise doesnt last all morning
A cloudburst doesnt last all day
Seems my love is up and has left you with no warning
Its not always going to be this grey
All things must pass
All things must pass away
Sunset doesnt last all evening
A mind can blow those clouds away
After all this, my love is up and must be leaving
Its not always going to be this grey
All things must pass
All things must pass away
All things must pass
None of lifes strings can last
So, I must be on my way
And face another day
Now the darkness only stays the night-time
In the morning it will fade away
Daylight is good at arriving at the right time
Its not always going to be this grey
All things must pass
All things must pass away
All things must pass
All things must pass away

No Solace Please
No solace after this please
and I getup to see
the havoc caused by
masturbation.
If you are not hereto soaked
snuffer and when I
have my morning
you are in your evening
and there is no difference
with the maker.
If you are missing
somewhere in the right
I am here you see
in the day bright.
No solace after this
If you not rise.

Better outlet
Many poets in the past
Burst out their lust
For their unavailable Queens
In their refined Classics.
Pity! Their words were never heard by their Queens.
Faculty was at its best
As I burst out my quest
For my misfit Queen
In my outburst verses.
Gaiety! My words got to her hand.
The poets found their solace just
In ejaculation of their cries.
In me the solace is the ocean
For my cries reached the destination..
Who-else will get that sanction?
Ejaculation of desire is
The only source of their solace.
Insertion of desire in addition is
My source for greater solace.
If met with infusion, it is marvelous!
Ejaculation itself is pleasure.
If met with insertion it is erotic.
I am fortunate to be erotic.

Out Of The Blue
A little girl on the bus today
made another little girl cry
When she wouldn’t let the
other one sit beside her
The dejected girl ran back to
her father’s lap in tears
While the other girl’s mother
kept saying “I’m sorry, we’re sorry”
Everyone in the bus looked so unhappy
The sobbing girl broke everyone’s heart
As for me, I thought, well
Isn’t she lucky…
I tried hard not to recall
another little girl
Who couldn’t find solace
from a dark cruel world
(But I couldn't...)
I run out the bus
But not fast enough
She was already crying

Vain Hope
Sometimes, to solace my sad heart, I say,
Though late it be, though lily-time be past,
Though all the summer skies be overcast,
Haply I will go down to her, some day,
And cast my rests of life before her feet,
That she may have her will of me, being so sweet
And none gainsay!
So might she look on me with pitying eyes,
And lay calm hands of healing on my head:
'_Because of thy long pains be comforted;
For I, even I, am Love: sad soul, arise!_'
So, for her graciousness, I might at last
Gaze on the very face of Love, and hold Him fast
In no disguise.
Haply, I said, she will take pity on me,
Though late I come, long after lily-time,
With burden of waste days and drifted rhyme:
Her kind, calm eyes, down drooping maidenly,
Shall change, grow soft: there yet is time, meseems,
I said, for solace; though I know these things are dreams
And may not be!

Solace In Music
Music is my solace
I can escape into it's
Rhythm and rhyme
I can feel the beat
Always different and pulsing
Giving me time to think
I can get lost in
The words
They give me an outlet
Music is my solace
One of the things
That is truly mine
Music is my escape
From the harsh reality
Even if it lasts only a moment
Music is my medicine
For everything
That hurts

Descent Into Grey (Life Poem)
It could be the end of the world as you know it,
When change is a crisis that decolours your life,
If you choose in your blindness to only see grey.
You know nothing has changed, and it's just
Your perspective that turns day into night, but
It could be the end of the world as you know it.
It's hard to see good when the news is so bad,
With everyone nervous about what is to come,
If you choose in your blindness to only see grey.
Go back to a place when colours were bright,
Unless you can see that things are not really grey,
It could be the end of the world as you know it.
Try recolouring your life with Instagram intensity,
And switch back and forth to see it's your choice,
If you choose in your blindness to only see grey.
Repainting your world with your Instagram mind,
A perspective that is more balanced than true, or
It could be the end of the world as you know it,
If you choose in your blindness to only see grey.

Cailin
Well it seemed like yesterday
When the world was looking dark
It felt so cold and grey
And why the hell am I even here
What's the purpose, all I feel is guilt and hate and fear
'Til that you came along
My heart was empty
Like the soul was missing from a song
And I thought I'd loved a few
No one ever made me feel
The way that you do
Hey little girl
Look what you do
Oh, I love you
Hey little girl, I love you
Well I know I'm not always right
And girl it breaks my heart
When I have to see you cry
So many things I wanna say
Now I know that you're the reason
That I'm here today
Whenever you're here
Just stay near
We'll be alright, yeah alright
Hey little girl
Look what you do
Oh, I love you
Hey little girl
Look what you do, and you do
When all my love starts running thin
I got you my own Cailin
Hey little girl, I love you
I'll be alright
But I need you close
Please stay tonight
As long as you're here
Just stay near
We'll be alright, yeah alright
