My 10th Poem For Tonight
this will be a poem of thanks
for those who still believe in me
my poems no matter how silly sometimes
no matter how they try to be be deep (& strong)
as deep as all the women i have loved before
and still want to love still even now like i am a very
passionate & discriminating lover, like i still can do,
what young men do, and give them all they want,
the mighty explosions on the fourth of July
and the bursting of all my birthday balloons,
on this tenth poem, i remember you all,
thanks for finally leaving me, at least i have

T.v. Talkin' Song
One time in london i'd gone out for a walk,
Past a place called hyde park where people talk
'bout all kinds of different gods, they have their point of view
To anyone passing by, that's who they're talking to.
There was someone on a platform talking to the folks
About the t.v. god and all the pain that it invokes.
"it's too bright a light", he said, "for anybody's eyes,
If you've never seen one it's a blessing in disguise."
I moved in closer, got up on my toes,
Two men in front of me were coming to blows
The man was saying something 'bout children when they're young
Being sacrificed to it while lullabies are being sung.
"the news of the day is on all the time,
All the latest gossip, all the latest rhyme,
Your mind is your temple, keep it beautiful and free,
Don't let an egg get laid in it by something you can't see."
"pray for peace!". he said, you could feel it in the crowd.
My thoughts began to wander. his voice was ringing loud,

Orthodigital Todays Lunacy
My new dentures are digital
because I have the wherewithal
to buy the latest gadgetry.
I love modern technology.
They play pop music as I eat.
No other dentures can compete,
can receive the latest news
from any channel which I choose.
I need not change the batteries
they can recharge themselves with ease.
The movement of my lower jaw
creates the current which they store.
I think that I can claim to be.
The first to have such dentistry.
They are my only claim to fame
have become a household name.
The only man whose dentures do
a great deal more than simply chew.
It seems my dentures have made me
into a real celebrity.
