Dreaming of Ulrike Meinhof
You were my sweet terrorist
Who hijacked my heart
And blew it to smithereens!
I remember our secret tryst
When the moon shone on your raven hair,
And the first time that we kissed
Was like an answer to a desperate prayer;
Of all the girlfriends that I've missed
I miss you most -
I've wandered the Berlin streets
A disconsolate ghost,
Riddled with bullets of grief.
I raise a toast to you,
Hoping you'll come back
To shatter our complacency,
Offend our bourgeois decency,
With actions that people deplore,
Bringing to our fading imaginations
The violent charisma true poets adore.

Remember Raven
Aah! ooh!
Aah! ooh!
While youre busy trying to conjure dirt upon me,
Your ponys sucked dry by an african bee.
The muck you rake is not enough to keep your turd at sea,
Remember the raven,
Remember the raven.
While your busy trying to weigh your power,
Your boats getting into fast water.
Lifes going down the river of no return,
Remember raven,
Remember raven.
Dont try to be a warden to history,
While trying to find a seat for your posterity.
You better tend your garden for your family.
Remember raven,
Remember raven.
Judas never got the key to heaven, you know.
Raven, raven, remember raven,
Remember raven.
Raven, raven, remember raven,
Remember raven.
Raven, raven, raven.

Hijack My Heart
Words and music by queen
Just walking down the street one cloudless sunny day
Just minding my business thinking my thoughts
Nothing much to say
When suddenly I got hit
Imagine my suprise
Your smile came up and zapped me right between the eyes
Id never seen anything to compare with your smile
Id never seen anything that came within miles
My heart got hijacked by you
Stuck in the traffic
Stuck at the lights what do I see
Some stupid bimbo in a fast car next to me
She takes off
Imagine my disgust
Like a bat out of hell
I get to eat her dust
I never had known anything to compare with her laugh
Id never known anything that counted by half
My heart got hijacked by you
Hijack my heart
Hijack my heart
Steals my heart
Hijack my heart
Hijack my heart
Look at the cities
Look at the streets what do you see
Look at the faces look at the people they all want to be
Suddenly hit by something they dont get to choose
It comes out of nowhere
Right out of the blue
Id never seen anything to compare with your smile
Id never seen anything that came within miles
My heart got hijacked by you
Hijack my heart
Now you really got a hold on me
You hijacked my heart
Dont you know you wont let me be
Stole my heart
Threw away the key
Oooee baby whats become of me
You hijacked my heart
Now you really got a hold on me
Hijack my heart

Such A Night
(words & music by lincoln chase)
It was a night oo-oo what a night
It was it really was such a night
The moon was bright oh how so bright
It was it really was such a night
The night was alight with stars above
Oo-oo when she kissed me
I had to fall in love
Oh it was a kiss oo-oo what a kiss
It was it really was such a kiss
Oh how she could kiss oh what a kiss
It was it really was such a kiss
Just the thought of her lips
Sets me afire
I reminisce and Im filled with desire
But Id gave my heart to her in sweet surrender
How well I remember, Ill always remember
Oh, what a night oo-oo what a night
It was it really was such a night
Came the dawn and my heart and her love
And the night was gone
But Ill never forget the kiss
The kiss in the moonlight
Oo-oo such a kiss, such a night
It was a night oo-oo what a night
It was it really was such a night
Came the dawn and my heart and her love
And the night was gone
But Ill never forget the kiss
The kiss in the moonlight
How well I remember, Ill always remember
That night oo-oo what a night
It was it really was such a night
When we kissed I had to fall in love
But Id gave my heart to her in sweet surrender
How well I remember, Ill always remember
Oh that night oo-oo what a night
It was it really was such a night
When we kissed I had to fall in love
Well shes gone, gone, gone
Yes shes gone, gone, gone
Came the dawn, dawn, dawn
And my love was gone
But before that dawn
Yes before that dawn and before that dawn
Oo-oo, oo-oo, oo-oo, oo-oo, oo-oo
Such a night

In The Garden
One moment alone in the garden,
Under the August skies;
The moon had gone but the stars shone on, -
Shone like your beautiful eyes.
Away from the glitter and gaslight,
Alone in the garden there,
While the mirth of the throng, in laugh and song,
Floated out on the air.
You looked down through the starlight,
And I looked up at you;
And a feeling came that I could not name, -
Something starnge and new.
Friends of a few weeks only, -
Why should it give me pain
To know you would go in the morrow,
And would not come again?
Formal friends of a season.
What matter that we must part?
But under the skies, with a swift surprise,
Each read the other's heart.
We did not speak, but your breath on my cheek
Was like a breeze of the south:
And your dark hair brushed my forehead
And your kiss fell on my mouth.
Some one was searching for me, -
Some one to say good-night;
And we went in from the garden,
Out of the sweet starlight,
Back to the glitter and music,
And we said 'Good-bye' in the hall,
When a dozen heard and echoed the word,
And then - well, that was all.
The river that rolls between us
Can never be crossed, I know,
For the waters are deep and the shores are steep,
And a maelstrom whirls below;
But I think we shall always remember,
Though we both may strive to forget,
How you looked in my eyes, 'neath the August skies,
After the moon had set; -
How you kissed my lips in the garden,
And we stood in a trance of bliss,
And our hearts seemed speaking together
In that one thrilling kiss.

Do you remember?
Do you remember you kissed me in a traffic jam,
It was thundering and raining,
Those days are gone,
Do you remember you hold my arms,
You touch my hair,
Those days are gone,
Do you remember? We took shower in rain,
you kissed me in rain,
Do you remember?

I remember when…
I remember when Heather asked me out for you
I remember when I dumped my girlfriend for you because I was even then falling for you
I remember when I went over to your home to meet Grams and I felt like I was home
I remember when I kissed you for the first time my heart skipped a beat
I remember whenever we talked I would smile like a fool. And still do
I remember when I said that I loved you you said it back.
I remember all these things and more…

Premonition
'Twas a year ago and the moon was bright
(Oh, I remember so well, so well);
I walked with my love in a sea of light,
And the voice of my sweet was a silver bell.
And sudden the moon grew strangely dull,
And sudden my love had taken wing;
I looked on the face of a grinning skull,
I strained to my heart a ghastly thing.
'Twas but fantasy, for my love lay still
In my arms, with her tender eyes aglow,
And she wondered why my lips were chill,
Why I was silent and kissed her so.
A year has gone and the moon is bright,
A gibbous moon, like a ghost of woe;
I sit by a new-made grave to-night,
And my heart is broken -- it's strange, you know.

The raven of Edgar Poe
We need only time
To undergo metamorphosis....
The girl and the old woman
Keeping an eye on each other;
The raven screaming, solemnly:
-Nevermore!
O, the raven of Edgar Poe,
Which had guessed
Their secret...

Little Raven
Little raven,
Where did you come from?
Little raven,
With your little black body.
Little raven,
With your long, shinny wings.
Little raven,
In mid flight.
Little raven,
With your frightening caw.
Little raven,
Why are you a sigh of death?

Middle-Ages
I heard a clash, and a cry,
And a horseman fleeing the wood.
The moon hid in a cloud.
Deep in shadow I stood.
‘Ugly work!’ thought I,
Holding my breath.
‘Men must be cruel and proud,
‘Jousting for death’.
With gusty glimmering shone
The moon; and the wind blew colder.
A man went over the hill,
Bent to his horse’s shoulder.
‘Time for me to be gone’…
Darkly I fled.
Owls in the wood were shrill,
And the moon sank red.

A story true at times (in answer to Marge Piercy)
Remember the farmer
whose raven turned
into a lovely black haired woman?
Her hair shone with a metallic bluish sheen
and there was warmth in her lovely dark eyes
and her voice had a sweet melody
and she was very intelligent, sociable
and highly adaptable to farm life,
but just after their wedding,
she urged her husband for more and more jewels
loved precious stones, anything gleaming
and with time her manners became
increasingly material, wanting more, raving,
wanting a better house,
as if on the lookout
to be better than the neighbours
she started storing up seeds and nuts,
fruit, the meat of small animals and mammals
in the pantry
and went out to walk, to climb on the high cliffs
peering up at the highest trees
and her voice started to grow more hoarse
and when he got home one day
after labouring under the hot sun
the house was shattered
and everything pulled apart in shreds
and he saw a raven flying away
screeching before disappearing in the blue
and the truth remains
that although courtship turns birds into ladies
marriage, maturity
and age turn them back into old mad crows.

Licia Sonnets 29
Why died I not whenas I last did sleep?
O sleep too short that shadowed forth my dear!
Heavens, hear my prayers, nor thus me waking keep!
For this were heaven, if thus I sleeping were.
For in that dark there shone a princely light;
Two milk-white hills, both full of nectar sweet,
Her ebon thighs, the wonder of my sight,
Where all my senses with their objects meet,--
I pass these sports, in secret that are best,
Wherein my thoughts did seem alive to be;
We both did strive, and weary both did rest;
I kissed her still, and still she kissed me.
Heavens, let me sleep, and shows my senses feed
Or let me wake and happy be indeed!

Raven, Raven
I took my children to the Zoo.
That was in March of 1993
And there was a sharp wind.
We saw a black
Raven who had stories.
'Are you thirsty, Raven? '
They asked him.
He said: 'Raven, Raven.'
'Are you hungry, Raven? '
He said: 'Raven, Raven'
'Do you have a family, Raven? '
I asked.
He said: 'Raven, Raven.'
We came back smiling
My children and I.
The children left.
We remained: sharp wind and me.
We went to my apartment:
My memories and I.
Unbearable loneliness.
I went to a pub.
The waiter asked:
'Are you thirsty or hungry?
You are not with your kids tonight? '
I replied: 'RAVEN, RAVEN.'

The Summer Sun
The summer sun blew change on our hearts
As it shone on the masses and the fields;
The breeding began when there was no change,
Then we had clothing from the moon,
The moon had just begun its course of travel
As it misses the planets as they run.
Open to the mistake we found afterwards,
When the moon commanded men of wine,
They hail and prevent a tale to be told.

The girl with the raven tresses
What smile made this soul quiver?
Shiver on this day in her audible stare
Each fingertip touch made the world
Tremble at the thought of caressing
A tress of her raven hair.
What love is held aloft in the sky
By each thought we forget is nought
But the desire we have given
In the quiet embrace of fortune,
In the tresses of her raven hair.
Electric touches find their spark
On yielding skin dappled in tense
Desire, quaking in raptures moved
By the bliss of moment oblivion,
Scented by tresses of her raven hair.
This world shakes off its slavery
And wakens the soul the moment
Each tress of raven hair
Lay rooted on a pillow
Next to your own, asleep.

The Night Visitor
Three times the knock it came to me
and opening up the door
I saw no person standing there
for help or succour plea.
I sat back down to lift the book
and Donne his Epicedes,
beside the embers I had sat,
three times again the sound.
My heart it stilled,
my heart it froze,
for no wind blew the cottage sky,
alone but lit by moon.
The sound again did slowly make,
was someone dead or going home?
for I with book and embers stood
afraid and now alone.
I stood and to the knock at once,
a soul upon my door,
for only wood could make that sound,
that I could hear again.
I slowly lifted up the latch,
and fearly opened up,
the door it let the ember glow
outside into the path.
I looked to see into the dark,
and there an Angel girl,
of long black hair,
and handsome form
did stand and beckon on.
Out into forest I was brought,
with hand and heart entwined.
We danced by pines,
and kissed by stars,
a garland she did make.
And oh! what night of reveries,
and oh! what night of care,
my youth returned again to make,
our love upon the carpet moss
alone lit by the moon.
And when awoke, I saw was gone,
the angel girl and joy,
I thought that I had dreamed
the scene beneath the single star.
But standing up I made my way
the cottage open door,
the fireside chair alone it kept
the poems for resting there.
And in the morning by the sun,
a light on pathway shone.
A garland made of pines and cones
lay there upon the step.
Let us not laugh at reveries
of love the heart can make,
the angel girl, she beckons
on to mossy carpet heart,
as lit by forest moon.

In Memoriam Ulrike Meinhof
Sweet terrorist,
You were a dream I had,
I dreamt of us sleeping by a disused railway,
How your hair was as dark as a night without stars,
I dreamed of our moonless sleep.
We were gods in our own political heaven -
I worshipped you for sure.
Weren't we worth much more
Than their thirty pieces of silver?
The night cries out for its martyrs that were murdered
It wasn't suicide.
They thought they were so clever.
You bartered your soul for rifles
And grenades
And dried my tears with the smoke from your pistols.
You were my sweet terrorist,
Sleep peacefully forever.
