Heaven To Gain
As I wake up each morning
And as I begin to start a new day
I wipe the night out of my eyes
And on my knees to GOD I pray.
I ask him to please watch over me,
And protect me from all evil and sin
As I know Its everywhere that I look
And its after all women and men.
I try to live my life the best I can
And I try to stay away from sin that's within
But that's the best offer made by any man
So I must pray over again, and again.
I think about what I had endeavored
Temptation and evil it is everywhere
From the things we do and the words we say
Its around the corner and it is in the air.
So I keep the promises that I do make
And also the vows that I do swear
If I break them or neglect them any
At my soul, sin and evil would tear.
And as I see the people everyday
Many don't care about things that should last
All they care about is what is for them now
And then later they try to forget their past.
So as I walk this one life's road

The easy way is not always the best way,
If you know what the outcome that is in store.
So never do I want to do unto others

We Pray
Each day we thank the good lord
for everything he gives us
from the birth of each new day,
to the young who enjoy a game to play.
The food on our table
that keeps our stomachs full,
to the love we are blessed with
within our chosen partner.
We pray each night to see another day
and always hoping for it to be better than today.
We pray for all our friends
to enjoy all the happiness they deserve.
We pray for all those we do not know
to have a little of what we have.
We pray for our health and safety
and that everyone be free.
On Sunday when we go to church

Rainmaker
Have you ever seen a miracle - you couldn't doubt or imitate
What's it really worth to you to shake the holy hand of fate
Well I did what I could to make ends meet
Been a gunrunner and a medicine man
In a Kansas town I was a rainmaker - there the hand of fate got out of hand
Rainmaker Rainmaker save this one horse town
Rainmaker pray to heaven
From the Flint Hills the land was cracked and dried
Thirsty streets in misery
I took the sign down that said medicine man
Put one up that said rainmaker - that was me
So the townspeople gave me money up front
To light a fire - pray, and dance around
Tell them it'd rain so they'd all go to bed
And I'd make my break clean out of town
But I started this dance and a storm kicked up
The sky went black from coast to coast
It was too late to stop - it was to late to pray
I had summoned down the Holy Ghost
Oh the searing wind and the clouds of dust
