John Keats

Sonnet XVI. To Kosciusko

Good Kosciusko, thy great name alone
Is a full harvest whence to reap high feeling;
It comes upon us like the glorious pealing
Of the wide spheres -- an everlasting tone.
And now it tells me, that in worlds unknown,
The names of heroes, burst from clouds concealing,
And changed to harmonies, for ever stealing
Through cloudless blue, and round each silver throne.
It tells me too, that on a happy day,
When some good spirit walks upon the earth,
Thy name with Alfred's, and the great of yore
Gently commingling, gives tremendous birth
To a loud hymn, that sounds far, far away
To where the great God lives for evermore.

From Where Shall I Greatness Buy?

Mom tells me to finish my homework quickly,
When I ask why? , she tells me
“You should become great as great as your dad”.
When I ask, where is my dad Mom?
She tells me, “He is now god’s guest.”
Again when I ask Mom,
“Can I not become great by being the god’s guest”?
She slaps me gently and tells me,
“Now just shut up and get your homework done”.
Little later when I ask she says,
“Your Dad fought like a tiger,
risking his life, he never bothered.
His gun has brought him greatness
and the honour of being the god’s guest.
Again when I ask,
“Do people become great when they fight”?
If so, I will beat in the school,
My friend Philip, with my might.”
Now, Mom calls me stupid and gives me a push.
Crying I go to sleep in her lap,
Now she says, “Tomorrow I will
give you pocket money for ice-cream”.
Wiping my eyes when I ask,
Mom! ”Can I by saving pocket money,
try greatness buy”?
Tell Mom, “From where shall I greatness buy”?
She tells, “Oh god help me”
and begins to cry.

Defeat?

WHO is it speaks of defeat? —
I tell you a Cause like ours
Is greater than defeat can know;
It is the power of powers!
As surely as the earth rolls round,
As surely as the glorious sun
Follows the great world moon-wave,
Must our Cause be won!
What is defeat to us? —
Learn what a skirmish tells,
While the great Army marches on
To storm earth's Hells!

How Great

Like a mother mine was delighted she gave birth
It feels as great as we felt coming to live on earth
Great as we thought it was when joining school
Highly respectable as we perceived our graduation
with great love of money for love and infatuation
Much as we thought money made people great

Then the job made great impact on love perception
We were held higher by those thinking we were great
Our mind made us take a great pride in education
With little regards to the good great book we forgot
For great eloquence in language for communication
For great crowds of ladies and gentlemen we fought
The more lovers one has, the easier it was to feel great

How great was the lavish and satisfaction
How great the diversity and the depth we experienced
How great the comfort to feel the hardness and softness
How great on earth does it taste fornication?
How great when we fear not for our Godlessness
How great when we die is going to be our tribulation?

God Is The Light

God is the Light
How great the wonders of the heavens
And the timeless beauty of the night
How great then how great the Creator?
And its stars like priceless jewels
Far beyond the reach of kings
Bow down for the shepherd guiding him home.
But how many eyes are closed
To the wonder of this night?
Like pearls, hidden, deep beneath a dark
Stream of desires.
But like dreams vanish with the call to prayer
And the dawn extinguishes night here too are signs.
God is the Light - God is the Light
How great the beauty of the Earth and the creatures
Who dwell on her.
How great then how great the Creator?
As it's mountains pierce the clouds
High about the lives of men
Weeping rivers for thousands of years.
But how many hearts are closed
To the wonders of this sight?
Like birds on a cage, asleep with closed wings
But as work stops with the call to prayer
And the birds recite here too are signs
God is the Light God is the Light
How great the works of man and the things he makes
How great then how great the Creator?
Though he strives to reach the heavens
He can barely survive
The wars of the world he lives in.
Yet, how many times he's tried,
Himself to immortalise?
Like his parents before him in the Garden of Eden
But like the sun sets with the call to prayer
And surrenders to the night here too are signs
God is the Light Everlasting
God is the Light Everlasting

Into The Great Wide Open

Eddie waited till he finished high school
He went to hollywood, got a tattoo
He met a girl out there with a tattoo too
The future was wide open
They moved into a place they both could afford
He found a nightclub he could work at the door
She had a guitar and she taught him some chords
The sky was the limit
Into the great wide open,
Under them skies of blue
Out in the great wide open,
A rebel without a clue
The papers said ed always played from the heart
He got an agent and a roadie named bart
They made a record and it went in the charts
T he sky was the limit
His leather jacket had chains that would jingle
They both met movie stars, partied and mingled
Their a&r man said I dont hear a single
The future was wide open
Into the great wide open,
Under them skies of blue
Out in the great wide open,
A rebel without a clue
Into the great wide open,
Under them skies of blue
Into the great wide open,
A rebel without a clue

Last Lunar Eclipse

Autumn came in mild and sweet, the Harvest Moon was due.
I sat beside an open window, until it came into view
A soft breeze played across my face, like zephyrs from Angel's Wings.
The stars shone brightly in the sky, bright, Heavenly, Cosmic Things.
The moon, majestically on high, rose over mountains yonder,
And filled the valley with it's light, my heart o'erflowed with wonder.
The Big Dipper shone so brightly, anticipating, it seems.
That it would fill it's ladle, with liquid silver moon beams.
Then Mother Earth did her own thing, She covered moon, stars and clouds,
Like some great, living creature, being covered by a shroud.
The moon was round and reddish, like a ripe peach in the sky,
Still great, in all it's glory, it seemed to make Earth sigh.
Then the lovely Harvest Moon, came to us one again,
The last eclipse of this century, this enigma, so witnessed by man.

All It Takes isTime

time tells story's
long and short
some of great measure
some the fade away

who ever said
you won't be important
you could be whoever
but it takes time

time is full of hello's
and full of good-bye's
don't let one rule you
you need both this you'll see

you will be strong
you will stand tall
some will be knocked down
but others will withstand the fight

I know it all seems silly
I thought so too
but it's true
it took me a while to see

a good life has ups and downs
has hello's and good-bye's
has gained a love
and has been broken hearted

but through the fires
is a light for you
whatever you've been through
it will matter no more

so be brave
in time you'll see
you were meant
to be as great as can be

sure others may try
to knock you down
but that's when you stand tall
and be all you can be

what's life if you don't try
in time you'll know the truth
like they say
'when one door closes...'

who am I to tell you this
but who are you not to listen
you will find your way
all it takes is time.

The revelations of great men

If you do something good in return,
You aren’t good; you settled a due.

If you do something good intently,
You aren’t good; you simply invested.

If you ask pardon for a fevour,
You aren’t great; it’s a strategy.

If you give pardon to one mightier,
You aren’t great with no alternatives.

If you speak truth when comfortable
And be honest when convenient

You cannot boast of yourself as great
As any mean one could do them at ease.

You aren’t great being just in matters
Where being otherwise of no advantage.

You aren’t great with the veil you’ve made
Of good deeds to hide the ill gotten.

You aren’t great with philanthropy
From the undue or unfair wealth got.

But for few, all great men may forgive me
For the revelations made of them.

Bad For Good

BAD FOR GOOD
Music: Rudolf Schenker
Lyrics: Klaus Meine, Dieter Dierks
Bad for good
She tells it like it is
The french word of a kiss
She's so bad for good to me
She's so bad for good
She wants more of this
You can feel it with a kiss
She's as bad as she can be
The thoughts in my head
Where would they be going ?
Seems to me
It's a tough call for one to imagine
They're saying they do when I win
I look in the mirror
Reflect from the ceiling
She wears next to nothin
Next to nothin but only
A touch of perfume on her skin, oh yeeeaaaahhhhh
She's so bad for good
She tells it like it is
The french word of a kiss
She's so bad for good to me
She's so bad for good
She wants more of this
You can feel it with a kiss
She's as bad as she can be
She's so bad for good
She tells it like it is
The french word of a kiss
She's so bad for good to me
She's so bad for good
She wants more of this
You can feel it with a kiss
She's as bad as she can be
If those were my fingers
What would they be doing
Is pouring along
From head to toe like a stranger
To be once again lost and found...yeeeaaaahhhhh
She's so bad for good
She tells it like it is
The french word of a kiss
She's so bad for good to me
She's so bad for good
She wants more of this
You can feel it with a kiss
She's as bad as she can be
She's so bad for good
She's so bad for good
She's so bad for good
She's so bad for good
She's so bad for good
She's so bad for good
She's so bad for good
She's so bad for good

They Have Words And Promises And They Have Rituals

They have words and they have promises and they have rituals
And they have learned journals and scholarly reviews
And all manner of verification in experiments repeated
And confirmed and reaffirmed again and again-
And they have all this discourse which not only tells us what we are
But enables us to make out of what was before
Something that was not before
And to give a sense of miracle not only to the past but to the future-

They have blessings and kind deeds and moral rewards
And all kinds of good things for those good in their minds
They have everything humans can do and be
And still they are not and we are not God
And cannot be-

Only God can be God
Only God can be God
And we with whatever we do
However great and good
Are not the End and the Beginning
And the One Answer that can possibly answer us all –

There is God
And there is us
But the difference
The difference will not disappear
No matter how many Universes we make
And how many parallel Cosmoses we define and devise-

Oh God is God and only God is God
And we are cosmic dust with spirit great indeed
But not God not God
For only God is God
And we do not understand what that means.

Nothing Ever Last

The World's great Empires have gone to decay
They rose and they fell and each had their day
And one Super Power rise as another does fall
And the small will grow great and the great become small.

The Pharoahs and the Aztecs and the Incas as well
And the all conquering Romans too had their glorious spell
And the Spaniards and the British of the recent past
Were known to be great Empires but they too did not last.

The Soviets and Germans great power did command
But their demise not that hard to understand
Since great powers they come and great powers they go
Though nothing lasts forever as history does show.

Genghis Khan and Napoleon and Alexander the Great
These all conquering heroes had their use by date
Though in the history of the World their names living on
The Empires they ruled over like them are long gone.

Un-rivalled for supremacy as the World Super Power of today
By far the most powerful Nation is the U S of A
But as history does tell us nothing ever last
And one day they too will be a power of the past.

Today... 'The Forerunner

Long before the first aeons of time began
the triune God agreed Salvations great plan.
'Who is it that will go to provide the way? '
'Here I am, send me', the angels heard You say.

Then into this scene you came by virgin birth
to begin the days of Your life here on earth.
Satan wanted You to take another way
But on Calvary's path You wanted to stay

There 'Father forgive them' in anguish You cried
as You bowed Your head in sacrifice and died.
Then through deaths dark sepulchre You descended
until Your sacrificial work has ended.

Three days and nights in death You were to remain
and then You burst through its gates alive again.
For then You began Your glorious ascent
as up into heaven in the clouds You went.

The heavens resounded with tremendous praise
as You approached to the Ancient of Days.
There You were given an eternal kingdom
of people from every tribe and tongue.

Through the Holiest of Places You have gone
to prepare the way for us to follow on.
Secure in You we know that heaven 's our goal.
Having such a hope as this anchors the soul.

The gateway to heaven has been opened wide
and we can now follow our Forerunner inside.
The great Herald of the heavenly kingdom
The long promised One prophesied to come.

Whatever Gets You On

Picked up the paper
flipped through the pages
reached for my coffee cup
yes, I'm still waking up
late in the day now
what can I say now
some folks are morning people
I never was one of those
all the same
I'll get in the game
give me muddy, muddy water
now I'm feeling better
you know whatever gets you on
and keeps you up right past the dawn
I'm feeling good now
I'm feeling great now
let's do the town now
vodka and tonic
a touch of the chronic
I trade my days for nights
I love the city lights
none of your business
who I might sleep with
some things are bad for me
and some things I just can't resist
all the same (I don't worry)
I'll get in the game (I don't worry)
give me muddy, muddy water
now I'm feeling better
you know, whatever gets you on
and keeps you up right past the dawn
I'm feeling good now
I'm feeling great now
let's do the town now
I'm feeling so free-wheelin'
and it's so hard to maintain
fascinate me
medicate me
'cause I can't get over the pain
picked up the paper
flipped through the pages
coffee and cigarettes
turn on the tv set
night time is falling
people are calling
I like to watch them run
round and round and round
you know, whatever gets you on
and keeps you up right past the dawn
I'm feeling good now
I'm feeling great now
let's do the town now

Like a thief in the night

With a great command and a loud trumpet call
The Lord will appear in the sky before us all.
The Heaven's will open wide and He'll burst through
for He has come to collect both me and you.

Earth's time will now be over for the Lord has come
and called all the faithful to His heavenly home.
Heaven's gate has opened for Him to appear
for the Day of the Lord has come and Jesus is here.

Too late for remorse, God's judgments now fall
on those who had refused to respond to His call.
Now all those who loved Him in heaven will dwell
but the disobedient have been cast into hell.

For many signs had been given by the Lord,
and prophecies recorded in God's written word.
That lawlessness and iniquity would abound
and wickedness increase in the world around.

As in the days of Noah, so shall the last days be
men eating and drinking, full of iniquity.
Where two would be using the hand mill to grind
one would be taken and the other left behind

So let's watch and fast and with diligence pray
walking very close to Jesus each new day.
So faithful to the Lord let us always remain
there's Hell to be shunned and Heaven to gain.

Written after reading Matthew 24: 36-44

Hymn
I am waiting for the dawning
of the bright and blessed day,
when the darksome night of sorrow
shall have vanished far away:
when for ever with the Saviour
far beyond this vale of tears,
I shall swell the song of worship
through the everlasting years.

I am looking at the brightness -
see, it shineth from afar -
of the clear and joyous beaming
of the bright and morning Star.
Through the dark grey mist of morning
do I see its glorious light;
then away with every shadow
of this sad and weary night.

I am waiting for the coming
of the Lord who died for me;
oh, His wounds have thrilled my spirit,
'I will come again for Thee.'
I can almost hear His footfall,
on the threshold of the door,
and my heart, my heart is longing
to be with Him evermore.

Rejoice

(jon anderson)
Rejoice forward out this feeling
Ten true summers long
We go round and round and round and round
Until we pick it up again
Time flies, on and on it goes
Thru the setting sun
Carry round and round and round and round
Until it comes to carry you home
Rejoice forward out this feeling
The white eagle soars
He goes round and round and round
Until the early winds of change
Dawns new light conquering timeless ease
Spread the harvest breeze
Let our hour of passion
Gently hold our heads on high with you
Gently hold our heads on high

Bible in Poetry: Galatians 6

Doing Good to All:

If one is caught in web of sin,
Restore him gently; be alert;
You yourself may be tempted then,
Although you are more spiritual.

Carry one another’s burdens,
Fulfilling commandment of Christ;
If you think you are someone great,
Although you aren’t, you are deceived;

Each one should test his own actions;
Each one should carry his own load;
Do not compare oneself to next;
Do not nurture pride within you.

The one who receives instruction
In the word, must share all good things
With his instructor with frankness;

You can’t mock at the Creator;
Whatev’r a man sows, he will reap;
If you please your sinful nature,
Destruction will come from the same;
He who sows to please the Spirit,
Will get eternal life from it.

In doing good, don’t be wearied;
We’ll reap a harvest at right time;
Whenev’r you get the chance, do good
To all, more so to believers.

Not circumcision but New Creation:

I write in my own hand to you,
In large letters:

Those who want to impress others,
Compel you to be circumcised;
This is to just avoid being
Persecuted for Jesus Christ;
The circumcised obey not law
Yet, want you to be circumcised,
So as to boast about your flesh.

May I boast never except in
The cross of Christ through which the world,
And I have been crucified;
Circumcision means nothing yet.

What counts is new a creation;
Let peace and mercy be to all
Who follow this rule unto God;
Let no one cause me trouble for,
My body bears the marks of Christ!
The grace of Jesus Christ, our Lord,
Be with you in spirit, brothers,
Amen.

Sonnet: Wisdom in Life

’Tis good to do some good things in our life,
And use all opportunities, God gives,
To mitigate the suff’rings that is rife;
In poor of hearts and honest souls, God lives!

’Tis better to avoid doing great harm;
When God is good, how can He bear evil?
’Tis better to till off sins from soul’s farm,
Not solicit favors from a devil.

’Tis best to do a lot of good in life,
And do the things our conscience tells is right;
’Tis best to help our fellowmen in strife,
And fight for justice’s cause with all our might.

Sin is a sin when fail we in duty;
But God can forgive us yet, what beauty!

The Fly In The Ointment

When the great Creator fashion'd us, and saw that we were good,
He commission'd us to dominate the planet as it stood.
But His ordinance meets denial still, and peace remains unknown,
For the Boer is always with us, calling certain lands his own.

Yet the Lord has given us grace to scent a Good Thing from afar —
Are we not our brother's keeper? Most assuredly we are!
So we seek to bear his burden, and benignly take him in,
Though he fight like forty devils in his ignorance and sin.

Once the Boers of Athens met us on the veldt of Marathon,
Where they fired upon our ambulance, and consequently won.
And the Maccabean Dutchmen, by their sniping tactics mean,
Smote our absent-minded beggars round Jerusalemfontein.

The commandos of Arminius denied us land or loot;
Not to speak of that old Dopper, Oom Bruce of Bannockspruit.
At Sempachstrom, at Gransonkop, we met the laager's Swiss,
And they mowed us by the acre, through their white flag artifice.

O the countless tons of swaddies, O the money worth of tools,
We have spent to prove our doctrine — that the Big Battalion rules!
Yet the stolid Boer confronts us still, in dirt and Scripture strong,
While our dividends evaporate — How long? O Lord! how long?

Let us beg the workman's shilling, let us smell our hats in prayer,
For the swift and lasting triumph of the multi-millionaire.
Let us reap the fields we sowed not, gather where we have not strawed
Since your wily operator is the noblest work of God.

Bravely sings the long-hair'd Alfred, 'Forward, forward let us range,
Let the great world spin for ever down the ringing grooves of 'Change,'
O be sure the Good Time Coming shall attain its glorious birth
When the patriot owns his blunder, and the boodler owns the earth!

Life, Where Is life!

Life is always light
for some
Life is always fight
for some,
Life is full of light
For some
Life is without light for some,
Life is search for light,

Some live a long life,
Some live for a short,
Some live for a purpose,
some live for themselves,
Some live for others,

Some are good thinkers,
Some are fantastic,
Some live in fantasies,
Some are short sighted,
And live a life, full of fight,
Some or long sighted,
And always stumble!

Some are great by birth,
Some are great by thoughts,
Some are great by deeds,
some are really great,
and they have the vission,
They have the strength and will,
they look as a lake still,
Yet they are full of life,
They always smile
And keep worries way a mile!

some has ways open, some has to open them on own,
Some Wander where life takes,
Some take life where they want,
Some are really great
Those realise, if not there is either birth or death,
Who is there to say what is life?
