Ah, how sweet it is to love!
AH, how sweet it is to love!
Ah, how gay is young Desire!
And what pleasing pains we prove
When we first approach Love's fire!
Pains of love be sweeter far
Than all other pleasures are.
Sighs which are from lovers blown
Do but gently heave the heart:
Ev'n the tears they shed alone
Cure, like trickling balm, their smart:
Lovers, when they lose their breath,
Bleed away in easy death.
Love and Time with reverence use,
Treat them like a parting friend;
Nor the golden gifts refuse
Which in youth sincere they send:
For each year their price is more,
And they less simple than before.
Love, like spring-tides full and high,
Swells in every youthful vein;
But each tide does less supply,
Till they quite shrink in again:
If a flow in age appear,
'Tis but rain, and runs not clear.

Our marriage
So once I have thought how sweet it is to love!
And so I did follow in aught how beguiling is young desire!
And thus I have endured the pleasing pains we prove
When we first approach our love's fire!
And in truth our pains of love were sweeter far
Than all other pleasures were or are.
Our early sighs which were from our love blown
Did but gently heave and calm the heart:
Even the tears we shed together and alone
Cured, like trickling balm, their smart:
As young lovers, when we lost our breath,
we bled away in an easy soothing death.
But now I ask why should a foolish marriage vow,
Which long ago in years and seasons was made,
Still oblige us to each other now,
When passion is lost and love decayed?
We loved, and we loved, as long as we could,
Till our love was loved out in us both;
But our marriage is dead when the pleasure and fun are fled:
It was pleasure first made it an oath.
Yet with time and in years it grow into despise and loath
Yet now I ask not the cause why it turns sullen spring
That so long delays her flowers over our heads to bear;
Why warbling birds forget to sing, and quite are the lake rings
And winter storms invert the year under its gloom we lost our cheer
Roses are gone; and fate provides
To make it spring away where she resides.
And in this world of prison and loath in which we stubbornly stay
Your indifference of a spectator who is idle and aloofly sits
An icon of more a beholding than caring in a cold detached play
Of estranging and abandoning rather than amending my troubled wits
Take for instance the times when I enjoy glad occasions
Or in sad times when I wail and utter my pains and woes
The first kind you encounter with sulphuric retreats of desperation
While on the second you offer no kindness, a total cruelty in shows
Finding no delights in my mirth nor rues in my successes
Mocking me in my laughs, and when I cry
You laugh hardening ever more your remote heart and withdrawn passes
Where are this love and passion that used to dwell in your eye
And nothing in me can move you, nor mirth nor moan
Oh love, what is the process that has turn you into senseless stone!
How great our mutual grief, our joys how few,
Time have the slow years not brought to view
Your voice once so sweet encouraging and calm
Now can shedder glass and is heard through like drums
It beats to battle; dreadful bells that awaken alarms
Your face, once my phantom, delights of fancy, comes
In front of me to give the battle its utmost climax
Ah, the neighbors and other bold acquaintances
On us they have drown their social acceptances
claiming we have the perfect life in pure marriage
little they know the horses hooked behind the carriage
Would ever such horses and carriage move forward
Sodomy and agony; suffocating oppression I feel so awkward
Shall I long and yearn to be happy again when I am alone
Do the things I want and call the day my own
Stop being dependent, be secure within and can say
Be your worse darling I have lived my day
Ah, be fair or foul, rain or shine
Who cares, my joys in spite fate are mine
No one on earth and nor you over me has power
Free from what has been I will seek my rebirth hour

November Love (My First Poem) (Two Versions)
Below, you will see two versions of my very first poem.
Its important to understand that the first version of the poem
is exactly as I wrote it at 6: 15 to 6: 30 PM on November 2nd
1970. I made no changes to it. It is also important to know
that this was, in fact, my first ever attempt to write a poem
of any kind whatsoever. The second version is modified from
the first because I wanted to demonstrate how a few simple
word changes can convert a rather average poem of some
quality into a poem of great quality and structure.
In early November the air is clear
With many sounds of lovers near.
Not as the April birds that sing
Nor as the Sunday church bells ring.
But rather to the rhythm of rain,
The hearts of lovers beat again.
For it's not true love that blooms in spring
Nor is it of love that birds do sing.
Rather of that love soon gone
And never seems to carry on.
That April love that all partake,
But very few ever make.
It's all year long this false love swells
Till in November true love dwells.
In November the air is clear
With many sounds of lovers near.
Not as the April birds that sing
Nor as the Sunday church bells ring.
Rather to the rhythm of rain,
The hearts of lovers beat again.
It's not true love that blooms in spring.
Nor is it love, that birds will sing.
But rather of that love soon gone
Which never seems to carry on.
That April love that all partake
And very few will ever make.
It's all year long this false love swells
Till in November, true love dwells.
I have removed the voting option on this poem
and placed it in my Hall Of Fame, due to its
history described above and its usefulness as
an example to the readers.

Lovers Love
the sweet escape is evermore,
enreaching our body and mind.
to live, to love, to know, to care
lovers love- lovers love.
a kiss to the lips, a heart warming hug,
the sweet embrace of your warming space
to live, to love, to know, to care
lovers love-lovers love
to have, to hold, to love
lovers love- lovers love
dreaming is our minds
wanting is our minds,
we want a love,
so gentle yet so pure.
the only love we share together as one
here, now, forever.

Love without Pain
Fire is unexpected without smoke
Love is also unexpected without pain
If love is fire then pain is smoke
Smoke is the realization of fire
Pain is also the realization of love
Fire is the coincidence of two objects
Love is also coincidence of two hearts
Soul is free from pains and pleasures
Mind can only understand the pains and pleasures
But heart can feel the pains and pleasures
May be throughout life
Love of one’s is not understood
But isolation of the beloved one
Makes us the realization of one love
Love is the natural phenomenon like fire
Life without love is a barren land
Fire sometimes burns to ashes
Love also sometimes makes the life to ashes
If life is delighted due to love
Surrounding is also enlightened due to fire
But when love and fire comes together
Fire is extinguished due to love of a beloved one

Burning Desire
Will you love me now as you did before
in your youthful days?
Can you will yourself back to them
and show me all the ways
you would shower me with your love
and never let me go?
Or are they forgotten now, my love?
Is there just the afterglow?
Youthful days and youthful ways
are intoxicating fire.
All you have inside of you
is uncontrollable desire.
You know nothing else.
You'd rather not.
You think to yourself
'My blood runs hot.'
Is it possible to stoke that fire anew
or is that just a dream?
For me, my answer's simple.
My heart is still the steam
that showers my thoughts of only you
and gives me what I need.
My youthful ways that are still alive
makes my heart to bleed
for you.

The Way Young Lovers Do
We strolled through fields all wet with rain
And back along the lane again
There in the sunshine
In the sweet summertime
The way that young lovers do
I kissed you on the lips once more
And we said goodbye just adoring the nighttime
Yeah, thats the right time
To feel the way that young lovers do
Then we sat on our own star and dreamed of the way that we were
And the way that we were meant to be
Then we sat on our own star and dreamed of the way that I was for you
And you were for me
And then we danced the night away
And turned to each other, say, i love you, I love you
The way that young lovers do
Do, do, do, do...
Then we sat on our star and dreamed of the way that we were and the way
That we wanted to be
Then we sat on our own star and dreamed of the way that I was for you
And you were for me
I went on to dance the night away
And turned to each other, say, i love you, baby, I love you
The way that young lovers do, lovers do, lovers do
Do, do, do, do....

Lovers Walk
I wont walk with my head bowed
(be on) beyond caution where lovers walk
My love walks where threes a crowd
Beyond caution where lovers walk
Lovers walk, lovers scramble
Beyond caution where the lovers walk
Lovers step, shuffle and gamble
Beyond caution where lovers walk
Lovers trip, lovers stumble
Lovers dip, lovers fumble
Lovers lip where love has crumbled
Beyond caution where lovers walk
Lovers strut, lovers stroll, lovers leap
Lovers late, lovers wait
Making promises that they cant keep
Lovers link up arm and arm
Lovers slink up, lovers charm
Lovers drink up and come to harm
Beyond caution where lovers walk
Love is gone and its no ones fault
Love has stopped here, lovers halt
Lovers dont walk, lovers run
Will you look what love has done
Will you look what love has done
Will you look what love has done
Beyond caution where lovers walk
Now loves limping on a lovers crutch
Looking for a hand with a personal touch
Beyond caution where lovers walk

Legend of the Sea
Many years ago
A story was told to me
About a mighty Triton
And his Goddess of the sea
~~~~~~*****~~~~~~
Two sweethearts met upon the shore
Touching ~ holding hands
Speaking softly as they left
Their footprints in the sand
A kiss they shared ~ so tenderly
Love shone with golden light
Enraptured in the setting sun
Souls filled with sweet delight
Wind whispered low ~ to the surging tide
As it edged ~ ever so near
To join the lovers standing close
Not seeing the waves appear
With gentle flow ~ the cunning tide
Moved across the land
To capture the magic essence
Of love's spirit in the sand
The tide ~ it made a mighty surge
And pulled the lovers out to sea
As they held tightly to each other
Their love tossed ~ through eternity
Now through the years ~ a legend grew
About these lovers in the sand
And how the sea did claim them
For it desired their love so grand
On evening tide ~ so many say
If you walk down by the sea
You'll see the golden lovers
Frolicking ~ wild and free
It's said the sea was jealous
For a love that could not be
And the lovers became immortal
With the greatest love you'll ever see
Yes, he is the mighty Triton
She is his Goddess of the sea
And they will stay among the waves
In love ~ for eternity....
True Love Is Gone
True love is weak, when lovers are weak,
True love is meaningless, when lovers are useless,
True love is not true, when lovers are untrue,
True love is wickedness if lovers are wicked,
One sided love, is not true love,
Fault finding in love isn't its stand,
It isn't perfectness, but affections
Nor not for something on somebody,
True love is dead, when it is believed to alive,
True love is wrong if lovers are right,
True love will lose, if lovers are winners,
True love is gone if lovers stays.
For Lovers Only
This ain't for the ones
That just love for fun
That just love and run
that just hold the gun
This is for
Those that bleed
That want but have no need
This ain't for the war
this is only
For Lovers only
lovers only
Strictly for the lovers only
Who are lost and lonely
Ever since the way you looked at me
love is not a want
love is now a need
This is if you want to hold me
Or for lovers only
not for the easy
This ain't bout that style
Its about a take it day by day
its about a wait thats worth it baby
Ever since the day you look at me
Ever since the way
love is not a want
love is now a need
now a need
not just cuz i got nobody
not just cuz i got nobody
This is only
For Lovers only
lovers only
Strictly for the lovers only
Who are lost and lonely
Ever since the day you look at me
Ever since the way
love is not a want
love is now a need
now a need
not just cuz i got nobody
not just cuz i got nobody
This is only
For Lovers only
Who are lost and lonely
The Way Young Lovers Do
(van morrison)
Originally contained in van morrison's astral weeks
Oh...
We strolled through fields all wet with rain
And back along the lane again
There in the sunshine
In the sweet summertime
Oh the way that young lovers do
I kissed you on the lips once more
We said goodbye at your front door
There in the nighttime
Love, that's the right time
Oh to feel the way that young lovers do
And we sat on our own star and dreamed of the way that we were and the
Way that we wanted to be
And we sat on our own star and dreamed of the way that i was for you
And that you were for me
And then we long to dance the night away
Turned to each other, saying 'i love you, baby i love you'
Oh the way that young lovers do
Lovers do...
Do, do, do, do...
The way young lovers do
Do, do, do, do...
The way young lovers do...
And we sat on our own star and dreamed of the way that we were and the way
That we wanted to be
And we sat on our own star and dreamed of the way that i was for you
And you were for me
Oh baby, baby.
And then we long to dance the night away
And turned to each other, saying 'i love you, baby i love you'
Oh the way...
I held her with her looking down
And i kissed her, with the snow falling down
In the street light
It was a sweet light
And the way that young...
Oh, the way that young lovers...
Oh the way that young... that young lovers...
That young lovers do.
To Love Is To Be Home!
How hard is to know
When we are in love
From soul to soul
Through vein to vein
Our love strays
Till blood cells
melts there
There where you and I first met
While we are in love
Yet we know they can't chain
Our love and pain,
For me the both are the same
The love and the pain
Tell me my beloved
That you will stay the same,
Near me or alone
Stay in my home,
For me to love is to have a safety home
Love me more and more
Till the end of the world,
Love me as I am,
Because I know that I do
I do love every single thing in you,
With you I breath,
I know how your heart beat,
When the spirits meet
The breath melts the breath,
Glances begin to speak..
For a while and while
just you and I
We Forget who or what.
We lose ourselves
Among the
distance Of time
We begin to swing
In the air we both get golden wings
When no one else is there
We forget to think
Just the moment we live
What is happening around
No one of us ever feel
Just when we are in love.
There we don't fear
Because we both do believe
What to love is? (To be home)
When It Comes To Love
Written by billy burnette, dennis morgan, and simon climie.
Push too hard, Ill pack my bags, Im going
Ahh, got to learn to let the river flow
Move too fast, youll end up never knowing
Whats inside my heart, give it time to grow
I need just a little space
Then I wont be afraid
When it comes to love, got to treat it special
When it comes to love, shouldnt be no pressure
When it comes to love, got to take it easy
You cant be too careful, when it comes to love
In your eyes I see a fire burning
Never seen it ever burn so bright
Beneath my feet I feel the earth start turning
Long enough to take my breath away and i
Need to know, what you feel
Got to show, its for real
When it comes to love, got to treat it special
When it comes to love, shouldnt be no pressure
When it comes to love, got to take it easy
You cant be too careful, when it comes to love
When it comes to love
Take it easy
Got to learn to take it slow
When it comes to love
Keep believin
When it comes to love
Give it time, and just let it grow
I need to know, what you feel
Got to show, its for real
When it comes to love, got to treat it special
When it comes to love, shouldnt be no pressure
When it comes to love, got to take it easy
You cant be too careful, when it comes to love
When it comes to love, got to treat it special
When it comes to love, shouldnt be no pressure
When it comes to love, got to take it easy
You cant be too careful, when it comes to love
When it comes to love, its special
When it comes to love, shouldnt be no pressure
When it comes to love, got to take it easy
You cant be too careful, when it comes to love
When it comes to love, its special
Lovers In Spring
Spring is for lovers
wherever spring is.
Lovers can find it.
It's hers. It's his.
Others may smell it
and not know it's there
for the aroma of flowers
are for two to share.
Love brings nature
close to your heart.
It intensifies in beauty
and plays its part
instilling in lovers
what it does mean
to inhale together
an exquisite scene.
And as the sap rises
in each and every tree
love will blossom
for you and for me.
For we are two lovers
that wait every year
for spring to enfold us
and hold us so near.
Love And Let Live
Two lovers watch the news, they've got more than love to lose
As they lay there under cover, do they really know each other
There's a whisper in the air, don't you feel a little scared?
The stakes are too high
Some have even lost a friend, and we're nowhere near the end
It doesn't help to moralize
Chorus:
The search is not the same now, more than just a game now, love and let live
It can thrill you - fulfil you, but lately it can kill you, love and let live
A little information's not too much to give
We've got to tell lovers how to love and let live
Do you think it over twice at the edge of paradise
If you're not really sure, use and ounce of prevention
'Cause there's still no cure
So you smile and say to me, 'it's not my responsibility'
You better change your attitude
Did you ask your lover who, who was there ahead of you?
You need to know the truth
chorus
I have found the one for me, we share our love exclusively
But we're all affected, 'cause we're all connected, we're a family
(Instrumental break)
(Love and let live, love and let live)
A little information's not too much to give, we've got to tell lovers
chorus repeats out...
Sonnet XIII: Youth's Antiphony
“I love you, sweet: how can you ever learn
How much I love you?” “You I love even so,
And so I learn it.” “Sweet, you cannot know
How fair you are.” “If fair enough to earn
Your love, so much is all my love's concern.”
“My love grows hourly, sweet.” “Mine too doth grow,
Yet love seemed full so many hours ago!”
Thus lovers speak, till kisses claim their turn.
Ah! happy they to whom such words as these
In youth have served for speech the whole day long,
Hour after hour, remote from the world's throng,
Work, contest, fame, all life's confederate pleas,—
What while Love breathed in sighs and silences
Through two blent souls one rapturous undersong.
Gravity of Love
The power of love …oh how over powering!
Lovers joined like butterfly wings
flutter sunshine and rain of tears.
Love infuses inside and outside
so caress, so too duress
Sweet hearts, sours stomachs as well.
Oh sweet love-
Oh great healer-
That fresh spring
Where verses
Stay young
Love is not love
Without its goods
so bear the gravity of love.
Madrigal
May we not love as others do,
Dearest, because we love,
A mistress I, a husband you?
Nay, our delights must prove
Either the double or the part
Of those who love with single heart.
Sweet friend, I find not any wrong
In your divided soul;
Nor you, that mine should not belong
Entire to one control.
Let simple lovers if they will
Contemn us, we outwit them still.
For small and poor and cold indeed
Is any heart that can
Hold but the measure of the need,
The joy, of any man.
Both spare and prodigal were we,
To love but you, to love but me.
