The Ordinary Man In The Street
Who is this strange creation -
'The ordinary man in the street'
How best can we describe him,
What say us if we meet?
He is but pure invention,
A meaningless disguise,
A bafflement, a camouflage
I do not recognise.
You can't reduce a person
Of any sex or race
To such a mundane sentence,
A being, without face;
We can't be averaged out so
It simply doesn't hold,
We'll not be departmentalised
Or do as we are told.
So listen to our heartbeats,
Remove us from your plan,
We're not that strange creation...
'The ordinary man'!

She Ain't Your Ordinary Girl
(Robert Jason)
She ain't your ordinary
She ain't your ordinary girl
She don't love carelessly that's what I've always heard
'Can't use the usual lines she measures every word
No empty promises proof is what it takes to win her heart
The truth and nothing less, simple things that set her far apart
Save your diamonds and your furs she's not your ordinary girl
She ain't your ordinary, no she's not
She ain't your ordinary girl
She ain't your ordinary, oh no
She ain't your ordinary girl
No midnight alibis, no foolish games for her
And if you cross the line you'll get what you deserve
But when you see her smile nothing seems to matter anymore
And in a little while you'll feel like you've never felt before
Like no other in the world, she's not your ordinary girl
She ain't your ordinary, no she's not
She ain't your ordinary girl
She ain't your ordinary, oh no
She ain't your ordinary girl
She ain't your ordinary
She ain't your ordinary girl
She ain't your ordinary

Save your diamonds and your furs, she ain't your ordinary girl

The Ordinary Man
If you and I should chance to meet,
I guess you wouldn't care;
I'm sure you'd pass me in the street
As if I wasn't there;
You'd never look me in the face,
My modest mug to scan,
Because I'm just a commonplace
And Ordinary Man.
But then, it may be, you are too
A guy of every day,
Who does the job he's told to do
And takes the wife his pay;
Who makes a home and kids his care,
And works with pick or pen. . . .
Why, Pal, I guess we're just a pair
Of Ordinary Men.
We plug away and make no fuss,
Our feats are never crowned;
And yet it's common coves like us
Who make the world go round.
And as we steer a steady course
By God's predestined plan,
Hats off to that almighty Force:
THE ORDINARY MAN.

Criminal World
You never told me of your other faces
You were the widow of a wild cat
And now I know about your special kisses
And I know you know where thats at
I guess I recognise your destination
I think I see beneath your make-up
What you want is so separation
This is no ordinary
This is no ordinary
(oh, oh, oh)
What a criminal world
The boys are like baby-faced girls
What a criminal girl
Shell show you where to shoot your gun
What a typical mothers son
The only thing that she enjoys
Is a criminal world
Where the girls are like baby-faced boys
Youve got a very heavy reputation
But no-one knows about your low-life
I know a way to find a situation
And hold a candle to your high-life disguise
You caught me kneeling at your sisters door
That was no ordinary stick-up
Im well aware just what youre looking for
I am no ordinary
I am no ordinary
(oh, oh, oh)
What a criminal world
The boys are like baby-faced boys
What a criminal girl
Shell show you where to shoot your gun
What a typical mothers son
The only thing that she enjoys
Is a criminal world
Where the girls are like baby-faced boys
Baby-faced boys
Baby-face
What a criminal world
What a criminal

What a criminal world
What a criminal

Ordinary Girl
I see her there in her plain print dress and her fading youth
Something about her opens up my soul
Something about her speaks the truth
When the sky is falling
She makes the world go away baby and I tell the truth
Theres a plainness and a sameness to her touch
Oh yeah and its beautiful
I love an ordinary girl
Oh shes just an ordinary girl
I say I love you I know its just an ordinary sound
We make love in our ordinary house
Yeah its built on common ground and we know it baby
We go out walking on an friday night in ordinary town
Theres a sameness and a plainness to it all
Oh yeah and its beautiful
I love an ordinary girl
Yeah shes just an ordinary girl
Another day, another battle
We shake the cage, our sabers rattle
Nothing that matters comes easy
Nothing that comes easy ever really matters
Oh (everything I am) shes an ordinary girl (anything I plan)
I love her (for everything that I stand)
Shes an ordinary girl (Im just an ordinary man)
Yeah shes (in everything I do) just an ordinary girl
(in everything thats true) I love her (in everything I plan)
Just an ordinary girl (Im an ordinary man)...

An Ordinary Girl
From an ordinary house, in an ordinary road,
From an ordinary town there came an ordinary girl,
A face that looked surprised, a book of dog earred loans?
Never made a sound, never said a word,
Nothing was ever seen, nothing was ever heard,
In an ordinary town, and an ordinary girl.
She's feeling, outrageous, so daft and courageous,
She's laughing, flirtacious, we're falling, unconscious,
She's selfish, and needy, she's wanton and greedy,
She's mugging, her lovers, she's bleeding her brothers from the level?
In an ordinary house, in an ordinary town,
Upon an ordinary street, nothing was ever found,
By an ordinary girl who never made a sound.
She's up in, the attic, she's bristling, with static
???
She's wanton, and needy, she's selfish and greedy,
She's mugging, her lovers, she's bleeding her brothers from the level?
The ones she's, been kissing, are strangely, gone missing,
The day when you wed her, you saw me unteather,
This feeling, no never, they all went together
With an ordinary girl

I Believe / All I Need To Know (medley)
The taxman's in the pocketbook
The pressmen are by the bar
And all the world is at your door
It's strange that you should lock it up
And preach an open heart
But you know what they're waiting for
You can turn your face away now
And don't think twice
I'm just the ordinary guy you used to know
I'm not after your money
Or even your advice
I believe you'll follow me
It's all I need to know
(to walk away)
I was tempted by the devil in this deep blue swimming pool
Until the devils makeup ran..
And my future's in the strangle hold of ever changing rules
I don't intend to understand
You can stop pretending now that I had you fooled
I'm still the ordinary guy you used to know
I'm not after your money
To paralise my soul
I believe you'll follow me
It's all I need to know
Promise me you'll try to understand before I go
(and walk away)
You can turn your face away now
And don't think twice
I'm just the ordinary guy you used to know
I'm not after your money
Or even your advice
I believe you'll follow me
It's all I need to know
Promise me you'll try to understand before I go
All I need to, all I need to, all I need to know
All I need to, all I need to, all I need to know
All I need to, all I need to, all I need to know

It Happens All The Time
It is strange how sometimes
we can recognise someone instantly
after a distance of years,
yet others we do not recognise at all.
This has happened a number of times to me.
The one I thought I would recognise
I could easily passed them on the street,
yet the ones who are strangers
I recognise instantly.
There is no logic in this,
but it happens all the time.

A little extra, from an extra ordinary woman
She goes out of her way and travels that extra mile
Because she is an extra ordinary woman
She consoles you, smiles with you, cries with you and for you
A little extra than anyone else
Because she is an extra ordinary woman
She spends on you a little extra than she does on her own self
Because she is an extra ordinary woman
She uses her extra strength and wisdom to pick you up when you fall
She blinds her sight to your imperfections
Because she is an extra ordinary woman
She loves you a little extra just to stand out different
From all those who love you
Because she is an extra ordinary woman
She starves herself so that you may eat a little extra
Because she is an extra ordinary woman
She forgives you all the time
Even when you guilty mind knows you don’t deserve such kindness
Because she is an extra ordinary woman
She may not be the most perfect woman but
She is indeed an extra ordinary woman
She is your mother, your wife, your fiancee, your girlfriend
Your sister, your grandmother and your daughter
You best appreciate her

I And I
Been so long since a strange woman has slept in my bed.
Look how sweet she sleeps, how free must be her dreams.
In another lifetime she must have owned the world, or been faithfully wed
To some righteous king who wrote psalms beside moonlit streams.
I and i
In creation where ones nature neither honors nor forgives.
I and i
One says to the other, no man sees my face and lives.
Think Ill go out and go for a walk,
Not much happenin here, nothin ever does.
Besides, if she wakes up now, shell just want me to talk
I got nothin to say, specially about whatever was.
I and i
In creation where ones nature neither honors nor forgives.
I and i
One says to the other, no man sees my face and lives.
Took an untrodden path once, where the swift dont win the race,
It goes to the worthy, who can divide the word of truth.
Took a stranger to teach me, to look into justices beautiful face
And to see an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.
I and i
In creation where ones nature neither honors nor forgives.
I and i
One says to the other, no man sees my face and lives.
Outside of two men on a train platform theres nobody in sight,
Theyre waiting for spring to come, smoking down the track.
The world could come to an end tonight, but thats all right.
She should still be there sleepin when I get back.
I and i
In creation where ones nature neither honors nor forgives.
I and i
One says to the other, no man sees my face and lives.
Noontime, and Im still pushin myself along the road, the darkest part,
Into the narrow lanes, I cant stumble or stay put.
Someone else is speakin with my mouth, but Im listening only to my heart.
Ive made shoes for everyone, even you, while I still go barefoot.
I and i
In creation where ones nature neither honors nor forgives.

Strange Magic
Youre sailing softly through the sun
In a broken stone age dawn.
You fly so high.
I get a strange magic,
Oh, what a strange magic,
Oh, its a strange magic.
Got a strange magic,
Got a strange magic.
Youre walking meadows in my mind,
Making waves across my time,
Oh no, oh no.
I get a strange magic,
Oh, what a strange magic,
Oh, its a strange magic.
Got a strange magic,
Got a strange magic.
Oh, Im never gonna be the same again,
Now Ive seen the way its got to end,
Sweet dream, sweet dream.
Strange magic,
Oh, what a strange magic,
Oh, its a strange magic.
Got a strange magic,
Got a strange magic.
Its magic, its magic, its magic.
Strange magic,
Oh, what a strange magic,
Oh, its a strange magic.
Got a strange magic.
Strange magic strange magic
Oh, what a strange magic strange magic
Oh, its a strange magic.
Got a strange magic.
Strange magic strange magic
Oh, what a strange magic strange magic
Oh, its a strange magic.
Got a strange magic,
Got a strange magic,
You know I got a strange magic,
Yeah, I got a strange magic,
Oo-o-o-oo, strange magic. (fade)

A General Statement About Those Who Spread The Mess...
they seem always to be happier
spreading mess like confetti from a tall dark red building
in the middle of the city
it is not the ordinary mess that you see on the streets
it is professional and too deceiving
authorized as it is with
the validity of the laws of their own creation
we who are below and who watch these makings
grit our teeth like we are grilled in hell
as a matter of internalization
it becomes evident that we who want to be clean
are the most unhappy people on this patch of the earth
perhaps that is the nature of this world
it is more of the scattering rather than the keeping
it is more of the destruction rather than the intricacy of the web of creation
trigger-happy are the murderers of the master plan
and those who want to keep things alive and intact
neat and beautiful
are always the mourners of the morgue.

Burning Down The Hosue
Watch out you might get what you're after
Cool babies strange but not a stranger
I'm an ordinary guy
Burning down the house
Hold tight wait till the party's over
Hold tight We're in for nasty weather
There has got to be a way
Burning down the house
Here's your ticket pack your bag: time for jumpin' overboard
The transportation is here
Close enough but not too far, maybe you know where you are
Fightin' fire with fire
All wet hey you might need a raincoat
Shape down Dreams walking in broad daylight
Three hun-dred six-ty five de-grees
Burning down the house
It was once upon a place sometimes I listen to myself
Gonna come in first place
People on their way to work baby what did you except
Gonna burst into flame
My house S'out of the ordinary
That's right Don't want to hurt nobody
Some things sure can sweep me off my feet
Burning down the house
No visible means of support and you have not seen nothing yet
Everything's stuck together
I don't know what you expect staring into your TV set
Fighting fire with fire

Strange Feeling
A strange feeling comes in a strange way in a strange package
In a strange color in a strange structure with a strange feature
With a strange nature with a strange behavior
Inside me which I can feel but can't express
As it stands at a distance far away making me helpless.
It breaks in,
Before holding to mold
It goes out
I put a tricky trap
To catch but it tactfully traps the trap
And very fast catches me up.
But it never becomes my very own
Or leaves me to live peacefully alone
It has been doing what it does and doesn't change.
It does always derange me, what a strange?

Superman Is Dead
Do you worry that you're not liked
how long till you break
You're happy cause you smile
but how much can you fake
an ordinary boy, an ordinary name
but ordinary's just not good enough today
Now who
Alone I'm thinking
why is superman's dead
is it in my head
we'll just laugh instead
worry about the weather and
whether or not you should hate
now you worried about your faith
kneel down and obey
you're happy you're in love
you need someone to hate
an ordinary girl, an ordinary waist
but ordinary's just not good enough today
Alone I'm thinking
why is superman's dead
is it in my head
we'll just laugh instead
you worry about the weather and
whether or not you should hate
Doesn't anybody ever know
that the world's a subway

Re-creation
Draw a picture of a legend
And a portrait of live person.
Which is more appealing?
Creation and re-creation
That any art performs?
It is re-creation that brings
Intimacy to the art.
