The Grand British Brew

I declare unto you there's a brew that is true,
Golden brown until we make it white;
It's drunk in the morning, it's drunk after noon,
In the evening, and also at night.

The procedure to make this infusion
Is quite ceremonial in China;
But this king of all drinks well deserves it,
To be honest there's just nothing finer.

Some take it with milk, some take it without,
Then the question is: 'One lump or two? '
But whatever the colour or sweetness of taste,
You can't beat The Grand British Brew.

If your preference is for the Darjeeling,
Earl grey or 'P.G.' or 'Typhoo, '
It makes not a farthing of difference,
You're choosing The Grand British Brew.

Now the yankees would drown us in coffee,
The fed's, in their wisdom, would too;
But that bean is a poor substitution
For the leaf in The Grand British Brew.

I've tried every other refreshment
That the world has to offer to me,
But I find myself always returning
To the brew that is true: to my tea.

Strange Brew

By eric clapton, gail collins and felix pappalardi
Strange brew -- kill whats inside of you.
Shes a witch of trouble in electric blue,
In her own mad mind shes in love with you.
With you.
Now what you gonna do?
Strange brew -- kill whats inside of you.
Shes some kind of demon messing in the glue.
If you dont watch out itll stick to you.
To you.
What kind of fool are you?
Strange brew -- kill whats inside of you.
On a boat in the middle of a raging sea,
She would make a scene for it all to be
Ignored.
And wouldnt you be bored?
Strange brew -- kill whats inside of you.
Strange brew, strange brew, strange brew, strange brew.
Strange brew -- kill whats inside of you.

A cup of tea such a British thing

It's something we have always done
whenever we have got worry or anxiety
do we reach for the whisky bottle?
No, we just have a cup of tea.
It seems to ease all of those worries
whatever the time of the day
do you need to solve a problem?
then have a cup of Typhoo or Earl Grey.
Whenever someone comes to visit
like an engineer to fix your T.V.
the first thing the householder may say is,
'would you like a nice cup of tea? '
I bet if aliens invaded British cities
do you know the first thing we'd all do?
would it be to flee and run and hide?
No, we'd just offer them a brew.
So even though things are looking bleak
and the cut backs are causing misery
you can bet all the char in China
we'll all still enjoy a nice cup of tea!

Dead Ringer For Love (feat. Meat Loaf)

Meat Loaf feat. Cher - Dead Ringer For Love
Meatloaf: Every night I grab some money and I go down to the bar
I got my buddies and a beer, I got a dream, I need a car
You got me begging on my knees, c'mon and throw the dog a bone
A man he doesn't live by rock 'n roll and brew alone
Baby baby, baby baby
Rock 'n roll and brew, rock 'n roll and brew
They don't mean a thing when I compare 'em next to you
Rock 'n roll and brew, rock 'n roll and brew
I know that you and I we got better things to do
I don't know who you are or what you do, or where you go when you're not around
I don't know anything about you baby, but you're everything I'm dreaming of
I don't know who you are, but you're a real dead ringer for love
A real dead ringer for love
Cher: Ever since I can remember you been hanging 'round this joint
You been trying to look away but now you finally got the point
I don't have to know your name and I won't tell you what to do
But a girl she doesn't live by only rock 'n roll and brew
Baby baby, baby baby
Cher and Meatloaf: Rock 'n roll and brew, rock 'n roll and brew
They don't mean a thing when I compare 'em next to you
Rock 'n roll and brew, rock 'n roll and brew
I know that you and I we got better things to do
I don't know who you are or what you do, or where you go when you're not around
I don't know anything about you baby, but you're everything I'm dreaming of
I don't know who you are, but you're a real dead ringer for love
A real dead ringer for love
Meatloaf: Ooh you got the kind of legs that do more than walk
Cher: I don't have to listen to your whimpering talk
Meatloaf: Listen you got the kind of eyes that do more than see
Cher: You got a lotta nerve to come on to me
Meatloaf: You got the kind of lips that do more than drink
Cher:You got the kind of mind that does less than think
But since I'm feeling kinda lonely and my defenses are low
Why don't we give it a shot and get it ready to go
I'm looking for anonymous and fleeting satisfaction
I want to tell my daddy I'll be missing in action
Ever since I can remember I've been hanging 'round this joint
My daddy never noticed, now he'll finally get the point
Meatloaf: You got me beggin' on my knees, c'mon and throw the dog a bone
A man he doesn't live by rock 'n roll and brew alone
Baby baby, baby, baby
Cher and Meatloaf: Rock 'n roll and brew, rock 'n roll and brew
I know that you and I we got better things to do
Rock 'n roll and brew, rock 'n roll and brew
They don?t mean a thing when I compare ?em next to you
I don't know who you are or what you do, or where you go when you're not around

Bitchs Brew

I tell ya kinky
You foxy little flirt
I caught you in the biar path
Liftin up your skirt
Well let me tell ya
What you been doin in the firepatch
What you been doin with your little skirt
Got....
Youve been foolin with the bitchs brew
You know the things I told you not to do
You fell into the briar patch
Aint nothing gonna save your ass
Remember the things you said
The saving and the screams for bread
And now you just walked away
So take it away, all the way
Youre fooling with the bitchs brew
That aint the thing you ought to fool with
Now you keep your fingers out of there, honey
You know that aint no there
The way that you really feel
Down the parts on the way you deal
Where the witch is sight
And the things that you fight
(oh God)
Youve been messin with the bitchs brew
Now dont you know who youre talking to
Say youre talking to the bitchs who
Tell me you never really cared
The voodoo man eyes of fire
The hoodoo man most desire
The bitches are out n smooth
Tell from the light of the moon
(yodle-lay-lay-lay, yeah, yeah, yeah, come on)
Ive been thinkin
Had my hands through the sense of time
Yeah, and Ive been drinkin
Just to make this here song rhyme
Youre foolin with the bitchs brew
Now dont you, dont you, dont you, dont you...
Dont go foolin with the bitchs brew...

Sonnet-My Poetry

Alone, I stir a cauldron of a brew,
The brew of Poesy, voluminous;
The aroma is great; so is the hue;
And formula-Inspiration, toil plus.

The consistency improves with more time;
The quantity has swollen to the brim;
The quality has been my concern prime.
The taste is set to my fancy and whim.

My magic- potion is more than ready;
And it will stay unspoilt over ages;
I feel not weary but happy, steady,
For time will pay me laurels as wages.

My job tho' more than half-done continues,
I'll get my limelight soon and hit the news.

Let us say cheers! ! !

when we grow grapes,
the bounty is huge,
what else be done,
brew it into wine.

When we grow barley,
the bounty is large,
what else be done,
brew it into beer.

When we grow rice,
the bounty is plenty,
what else be done,
brew it into vodka.

When the clime is extreme,
the fingers are numb,
breathing cold air,
can be hotter,
when you have a peg.

When the clime is extreme,
even the palms sweat,
breathing hottest air,
can be cooled down,
when you drown the chilled beer.

When you have moderate climate,
when you grow nothing in extra,
when you have hungry families,
why the liquor is sold
to the poor peasant?
for the revenue of the government?

Is climate a real reason,
for human to consume alcohol,
an item not food?

social drinkers,
compulsive drinkers,
addicted drinkers,
who ever we are,
we have the reasons,
to justify our actions.
in the name of liberty,
freedom and individuality,
without considering,
the welfare of the fellow human,
who may be strong and weak.

Holding a glass of water,
I say cheers to you, guys,
in the name of liberty,
freedom and individuality,
as I have no backbone,
to tell you not to drink.

I really do appreciate the fact youre sittin here
Your voice sounds so wonderful
But yer face dont look too clear
So bar maid bring a pitcher, another round o brew
Honey, why dont we get drunk and screw

Why dont we get drunk and screw
I just bought a water bed, its filled up for me and you
They say you are a snuff queen

Lift The Lid

Nazareth
Here I am, sitting on my porch
Thinkin my life has got to be beyond reproach
Have I forgot some friends close to me
Real ones that dont use me
And does my woman love me now
Like she loved me then
Here I am,my defenses are down
Will she remember me when Im not around
Will she still dream by me
Or will she find a new life
Will I ever get used, to being alone at night
Ill never know, but would it do me any good if I did
Life is a strange brew, maybe we should not lift the lid
Lift the lid
Ill never know, but would it do me any good if I did
Life is a strange brew, maybe we should not lift the lid

A Love Song

okay"
I really do appreciate the fact you're sittin' here
Your voice sounds so wonderful
But yer face don't look too clear
Bar maid bring a pitcher, another round o' brew
"alright let's here it"
Why (don't we get drunk and screw)
"you're on the record!"
Chorus:
Why don't we get drunk and screw
I just bought a water bed, it's filled up for me and you
They say you are a snuff queen
Honey i don't think that's true
So, why don't we get drunk and screw.
"i can't wait for 'em to put that label on my live album. you're sounding absolutely wonderful out there, but we have invited the all girls choir from lima, ohio down here and we can't here
Too well now. we'd like all of you gentlemen out in the audience to just sorta take a break, sit back and let's let these beautiful women of the nineties tell us how they feel about it. ladies
Ou ready? on the count of four. one, two, three, four."
Chorus:
Why (don't we get drunk and screw)
"whoo yeah!"
I just bought a waterbed it's filled up with elmer's glue."
They say you are a snuff queen
Let's see what all you macho men can do
Why (don't we get drunk and screw)
"oh yeah."
Why don't we get drunk and screw
"i think we better work this out amongst ourselves."
Why don't we get drunk and screw, oooh yeah

Love Potion

Chorus
I'll brew you a love potion
Even if it takes me five days
Five days would certainly be worth
All this pain you've secretly been giving me
But you didn't know it
End chorus
I'll wait for you by the fireside
Even if it takes me all night
All night would certainly be worth
Getting rid of this pain you've secretly been giving me
But you didn't know it
I'll brew you a love potion
Even if it takes me five days
Five days would certainly be worth
All this pain you've secretly been giving me
But you didn't know it
I'll sit with you, alone there
Sharing stories and trading laughs
Those laughs would all be worth
This pain you've secretly been giving me
But you didn't know it
I'll brew you a love potion
Even if it takes me five days
Five days would certainly be worth
All this pain you've secretly been giving me
But you didn't know it
Later on we'll sit there, old as dust
And you'll wish you could have willed me away
But I'll hold you close as we die
These days would certainly be worth
All this pain you've secretly been giving me
But you didn't know it
I'll brew you a love potion
Even if it takes me five days
Five days would certainly be worth
All this pain you've secretly been giving me
But you didn't know it
At the end of life I'll wish to bring
Those old days back from the dead
Relive them over and over again
When I brewed you that love potion
And it took me five days
Five days were certainly worth
All that pain you blasted me with
But you didn't know it
And now you know it
It's too late, you fell in love
You fell in love potion
Like the one I brewed for you

Cauldron

Beneath the cauldron, the fire crackles
while above it and old witch cackles
as she stirs her brew and popping in ingredients.
Web of spider, eyelash of newt,
wart of toad and little boy blue’s flute.
She looked around and cackled some more
as the bubbles in the cauldron multiplied more.
She added even more ingredients;
toenail of bat, stinger of bee,
skin of snake and droppings of mole.
The old witch continued to stir her stew,
as it must be served piping hot.
She then mumbled incantations over the bubbling brew.
The problem was who would eat it.
She turns and looks my way with a big bow in hand.
Shaking my head, no thank you,
get some other mug to have your stew.

The Lonely Teabag...

One solitary teabag
not enough for two to share
just one for the teapot
the caddy being quite bare.

No drawing of the water
no mashing of the pot
no teabag for each person
whilst shopping, I forgot.

With two saucers on the table
but no teacup at the lips
for the corner store's not open
to buy more *PG Tips.

It's tea-less in the cupboard
no tasty leaf to brew
so I will have a coffee
and make tea, just for you.

Filemon

Early in the morning
before the first coffee cups are set
and the first brew is made
Filemon arrives.

At a time I see him
riding a big black bicycle
and how he struggles
to get all the parcels
to the post office.

Later he drives a blue-grey station wagon
from which he carries a load of parcels
and never there’s a difference of a cent
on the money that he banks
and even when he’s doing his work
to the best of his ability,
a decision is made
that he must stay a messenger
and have to drive people and parcels around.

Season Come Season Go

Season come and season go

Tis the moon change in the
Season

A neon orange moon glisten in
The night..

As the moon shine his brightest

Is there a light inside the moon

While that little boy sit’s and fishes
Off the moon

Can you see him all relax and laid
Back

With his fishing pole dangling off the
Tip of the moon

Can you see how cold the moon
Appear in the midst of January
Brew..

The season come and season go

The orange moon glisten in the
Night..

As

The frosty chill cover’s the land from

An age “ole” neon orange moon visit
The night.

Which being his time to shine in the

The Other

I sit at this tiny table
and wait
as I have before
for you to make
excuses to get
away;
to steal the tiny time
you have with me.

I know I should go,
break away
and leave
but I don't.

I sip my coffee
swirling in the cup
mixing my milk
and your strong brew.

Perhaps one day
there will be a me and you
but today-right now
there is only me.

I feel you at my side
suddenly
your face
comes over me
and once again
there is the peace
you offer
each time we meet.

That is the drug
which overpowers
each time
I
the other woman;
and we
reach across
the tiny table
re-joined
in tiny time
the tiny space
we allow ourselves
to enjoy

rarely,
this other me
that other you.

Starbuck's Coffee Company Poem = Coffee

Around 1615 coffee came to Western Europe
Raising a huge controversy and warning cry.
Some said it was intoxicating and poisonous
And any whom consume it will die.

No one knows how coffee was discovered
Though it is said its effects were known before A.D.575.
Persian armies carried and ate its seeds for strength
Which in battle could decide who would perish or survive.

Arabs where the first to brew its bitter seeds into a drink
In a attempt to make it taste better and easier to consume.
Soon the new beverage spread to Turkey and Europe
As the world became addicted to the harvest of it's bloom.

Thank God for caffeine found in coffee
Which helps multitudes make it through the day.
Like ancestors of the past it helps energy to last
And for it's stimulant we are eager to pay.

A Poet Complains

Leaves gash the ground with wounds of colour
Where the lonely eagles cry,
Frost binds the earth with straps of iron
And the bright wind shakes the sky;

I've listened to the Faery Folk
And drunk their magic brew,
I've spoken to men and angels
And the dark Satanic crew,

But no-one showed me mercy
By the side of the bitter sea
When Jesus wept and Moses moaned
And they nailed me to the Tree.

I Concentrate On You

Whenever skies look grey to me
And trouble begins to brew
Whenever the winter winds
Begin to blow
I concentrate on you
When fortune cries nay, nay to me
And people declare youre through
Whenever the blues becomes my only song
I concentrate on you
On your smile to sweet so tender
When first my kiss you deny
On the love in your eyes
When you surrender
And once again our arms entertwine
And so when wise men say to me
That loves young dreams never come true
To prove that even wise men can be wrong
I concentrate on you.
