Star-Gazing

LET be what is: why should we strive and wrestle
With awkward skill against a subtle doubt?
Or pin a mystery 'neath our puny pestle,
And vainly try to bray its secret out?

What boots it me to gaze at other planets,
And speculate on sensate beings there?
It comforts not that, since the moon began its
Well-ordered course, it knew no breath of air.

There may be men and women up in Venus,
Where science finds both summer-green and snow
But are we happier asking, '' Have they seen us?
And, like us earth-men, do they yearn to know?

On greater globes than ours men may be greater.
For all things here in fair proportion run;
But will it make our poor cup any sweeter
To think a nobler Shakespeare thrills the sun?

Or, that our sun is but itself a minor,
Like this dark earth—a tenth-rate satellite,
That swings submissive round an orb diviner,
Whose day is lightning, with our day for night?

Or, past all suns, to find the awful center
Round which they meanly wind a servile road;
All, will it raise us or degrade, to enter
Where that world's Shakespeare towers almost to God?

No, no; far better, 'lords of all creation''
To strut our ant-hill, and to take our ease;
To look aloft and say, ' That constellation
Was lighted there our regal sight to please!'

We owe no thanks to so-called men of science,
Who demonstrate that earth, not sun, goes round;
'Twere better think the sun a mere appliance
To light man's villages and heat his ground.

There seems no good in asking or in humbling;
The mind incurious has the most of rest;
If we can live and laugh and pray, not grumbling,
'Tis all we can do here—and 'tis the best.

The throbbing brain will burst its tender raiment
With futile force, to see by finite light
How man's brief earning and eternal payment
Are weighed as equal in th' Infinite sight.

'Tis all in vain to struggle with abstraction—
The milky way that tempts our mental glass;
The study for mankind is earth-born action;
The highest wisdom, let the wondering pass.

The Lord knows best: He gave us thirst for learning;
And deepest knowledge of His work betrays
No thirst left waterless. Shall our soul-yearning,
Apart from all things, be a quenchless blaze?

Sonnet: The Universe

Many are the suns than the Sun we know;
Our Sun is just one star in Milky Way;
And centrally sited, luminous- oh!
Giving the earth, light and heat every day.

Planets in orbits move around the Sun,
Spinning on their own and looking round;
The Universe is wonderful with fun,
And harmonious, by physical laws bound.

Earth’s the only place where man best can live;
And God made man with love, ensouled him too;
To all creatures earthly, man must love give,
And love Mother Nature, her secrets woo.

Science takes man closer towards God sometime;
His soul must remain pure and mind sublime.

Sonnet: Life

In life on earth, contrasting things happen;
The highest on earth will be soon tumbled;
The greatest on earth will be too humbled;
All can’t have success and all can’t captain.

The higher we fly, greater will be fall;
The greater the care we ought to take then;
We are all human and we are mere men;
Though feeling secure, we await the call.

Life is in achieving great things may be!
The balance of mind and peace, you will need;
No time can any man control the sea!
Nature is far greater, supreme indeed.

Every man ought to learn his limits first;
Man is driven by curiosity’s thirst.

Know Thyself!

Ah! The speck of a star dust,
Filling a ray of light,
Get Exited to roam here and
there! The one who has neither born,
nor die,
The eternal infinite singing its
eternal song AUM,
Going round and round the Sun,
Along the revolving Earth, Rotating about own axis along
with rotating Planet! I and you are same here,
Counting the time, counting the
days,
Everything is natural,
Why can't I be more natural
Why can't I be neutral, All here are busy,
The Sun, the Moon,
The Earth,
The ocean and breeze,
Every cells of plants and animals
busy, Look at your cells,
That too are soundlessly busy,
Why can't I and you,
Say 'I am you' to the creator,
Because you too conferred same
capacity, capable to create your own
world,
Your own happiness and sorrow,
Your own world of life, wisdom
and knowledge,
Its show of shadow play is this world!

If everything came from nothing,
And everything goes into
nothing,
Nothing is smiling behind
everything,
And everything showup on nothing,
is it true that universe is nothing,
Or one in this universe is
nothing? Or is it true that the sense
developed by nothing can feel
everything? Creation is the result of creativity
of that nothing,
For which everything is possible,
Nothing is impossible to that
nothing,
Which can play with everything! Remain here as nothing,
Behave yourself nothing,
Someday that will be the truth,
Nothing can save you from
leaving everything!
Love everyone seeing this nothing which is behind
everything!

More or less, my mind,
dipping itself in divinity within,
several times a day, Losing weight,
its dirt,
dissolving its narrowness,
In the infinite vastness of Self!

More or less it is learning that knowledge and wisdom,
Thirst for more and more,
Power and popularity,
All are equally dragging back to hell!

Hell is where I feel Myself finite,
Yet feeling pain infinite,
Heaven is that where I feel myself light and painless,
Neither senseless nor insane!

It is here itself both hell or heaven felt,
Beyond which there is reality and truth,
It is not a matter of places,
Hell or heaven are,
Only a matter of planes,
Planes at with mind take me,
And beyond the plane where mind can never go,
I find the Self shining in its glory,
and that plane,
No duality or trinity exist,
Only one who ever exit is not felt,
The life of an atom or life of a star begins!

Yet no star can shine,
Only that mysterious that shines which remains mysterious,
With that light which absorbs all!

Know for sure, you are that,
That truth, beyond all truth that
your tongue can talk,
Mind can imagine and
intelligence and reasoning can
go, Mystery is beyond perception,
No one can penetrate this mystery as
he himself is that!

God is not nothing,
But isn't it sure God is not a thing
Of perception,
How can one percept the
perceptor? God is the whole being, absolute
infinite,
No one to see exist other than
him,
Not even mirror in which he can
see himself, He himself became universe, the
mirror,
In which he can see himself!
When someone come out of the
absolute infinite to look back,
Can only find both are relative infinite,
Relative to one another,
Related to one another eternally
God and nature are these eternal
relatives!

Seeing the world with god

i look through my body
at the world, the stars, moon
stars beyond stars
i know there are stars, moon
stars beyond stars too
from my temporary sphere
the aura that shines
from this physical self
the trillion of cells
all the moving atoms,
electrons, protons
the universe inside and out
i look at them
from my infinite self
god the puppeteer
shrewdly playing
the beginning, the end
the two walls
between the human brain
the man innocently walks
to oblivion
some attempt to broaden the width
others like me attempt to
to burst out of the walls
to take a peep outside
the limitations, this physical self
the world outside
the god inside and out
the moon, sun, universe
the things outside
i too have become a galaxy
as i join god to take
a look at his worlds
a meteor flashes by
a cell loses hold
flushed by blood
to another world
an infinite me
looking at the finite me
all the stars, moons,
universe outside
and inside
all the cells that i own
that soon would
squeeze me out
to join the plane
where i could view
the beat of the universe
the expansive universe
myself a galaxy

the zillion of selves
those stars, suns
spinning towards
a full stop?
eternity?
the human brain
stretched towards
a world of no end
suffocated in its attempt
i stand beside god
for just a moment
to take a peek at
all his workings
wondering all the motives
behind his pupputeering
the moons, the suns, the universe
the cells acting out his drama
round and round
casting off light
i saw a star burst
light light years away
the cancer patient
carrying a cell
that too has burst
soon to cast that black hole
over the finite self
the infinite journeys to
rest on another finite self
the universe
i standby the creator
to look at his puppeteering
wondering his motives
in his design
the privilege he gives me
to share a view
of his craft
my mind flying
outside the two walls
of the brain
instead of between
infinity
my body
the universe
i look at them
like the stars, moon, meteors
this infinite me
with a finite self
of stars, moons,
stars beyond stars

He Brings Salvation

It is God alone, who brings, Salvation in The King of kings,
He is the very Lord of lords, whom to all the world affords,
God’s Gift of Eternal Life, through the Savior, Jesus Christ,
Offering to all a second birth, to every willing soul on earth.

For God alone is The One, Who sent to earth His Only Son,
Who set aside His Majesty, to live on earth for you and me,
Coming to earth as a child, born in a stable, meek and mild,
Starting in that lowly place; was for us, God’s gift of Grace.

The vessel of how we are saved, from a world so depraved,
In a world dark as the night, Christ became this world’s light,
The center of salvation’s plan, isn’t us, but, The Son of Man,
Sent to earth by God’s Grace, to save the entire human race.

With mankind the focus of, the Lord God’s unmatched Love,
A Love offering all we need, as Christ alone would intercede,
For sinners such as you and I, when He came to earth to die,
Paying God’s Supreme Price, becoming for all His Sacrifice.

From His death He would rise, to His throne above the skies,
And here on earth as we believe, God’s Salvation we receive,
As the only work required of us, is to in Christ place our trust,
For it’s all God’s work of Grace, when I come to Him by faith.

Man's Curiosity Lands on Mars!

Of all the many galaxies,
The Maker chose just planet earth,
The third from sun in Milky Way,
For man to inhabit and thrive!

But man's curiosity didn't stop
By landing upon moon's surface!
One small step of Neil Armstrong meant
A giant leap for mankind's science!

Mars Rover Curiosity
Has touched down upon mars surface,
A feat of engineering skills -
A culmination of efforts!

But why search planets for new life?
Home earth has secrets much concealed;
Why waste money and time so far?
Cannot you develop life on earth?

Though curiosity of man
Is good for scientific research,
All know that earth is best for man,
And yet, they hunt for newer ground!

Kudos to scientists' great efforts!
Man's brain is doing things grandiose;
If only money's spent on earth,
All mankind can live happily!

Mere mankind's pow'rs can't move mountains!
The Omnipotent need to bless;
Man's achievements then bear witness
To Maker's awesome power and love!

Dedicated to all the scientists world-wide!

The Secret of the Universe

AN ODE
(By a Western Spinning Dervish)

I SPIN, I spin, around, around,
And close my eyes,
And let the bile arise
From the sacred region of the soul’s Profound;
Then gaze upon the world; how strange! how new!
The earth and heaven are one,
The horizon-line is gone,
The sky how green! the land how fair and blue!
Perplexing items fade from my large view,
And thought which vexed me with its false and true
Is swallowed up in Intuition; this,
This is the sole true mode
Of reaching God,
And gaining the universal synthesis
Which makes All—One; while fools with peering eyes
Dissect, divide, and vainly analyse.
So round, and round, and round again!
How the whole globe swells within my brain,
The stars inside my lids appear,
The murmur of the spheres I hear
Throbbing and beating in each ear;
Right in my navel I can feel
The centre of the world’s great wheel.
Ah peace divine, bliss dear and deep,
No stay, no stop,
Like any top
Whirling with swiftest speed, I sleep.
O ye devout ones round me coming,
Listen! I think that I am humming;
No utterance of the servile mind
With poor chop-logic rules agreeing
Here shall ye find,
But inarticulate burr of man’s unsundered being.
Ah, could we but devise some plan,
Some patent jack by which a man
Might hold himself ever in harmony
With the great whole, and spin perpetually,
As all things spin
Without, within,
As Time spins off into Eternity,
And Space into the inane Immensity,
And the Finite into God’s Infinity,
Spin, spin, spin, spin.

The Lakeside

The shadows round the inland sea
Are deepening into night;
Slow up the slopes of Ossipee
They chase the lessening light.
Tired of the long day's blinding heat,
I rest my languid eye,
Lake of the Hills! where, cool and sweet,
Thy sunset waters lie!

Along the sky, in wavy lines,
O'er isle and reach and bay,
Green-belted with eternal pines,
The mountains stretch away.
Below, the maple masses sleep
Where shore with water blends,
While midway on the tranquil deep
The evening light descends.

So seemed it when yon hill's red crown,
Of old, the Indian trod,
And, through the sunset air, looked down
Upon the Smile of God.
To him of light and shade the laws
No forest skeptic taught;
Their living and eternal Cause
His truer instinct sought.

He saw these mountains in the light
Which now across them shines;
This lake, in summer sunset bright,
Walled round with sombering pines.
God near him seemed; from earth and skies
His loving voice he beard,
As, face to face, in Paradise,
Man stood before the Lord.

Thanks, O our Father! that, like him,
Thy tender love I see,
In radiant hill and woodland dim,
And tinted sunset sea.
For not in mockery dost Thou fill
Our earth with light and grace;
Thou hid'st no dark and cruel will
Behind Thy smiling face!

Always there

Before the Daystar was in position
and the planets began their round
Or the galaxies were called into being
and a single star was found.

There standing at the threshold of 'The beginning',
preceding time and space.
You said 'Let there be' and the vast universe
nestled neatly into place.

Light burst forth commencing a great journey,
shining its' illuminating ray
and thus began the glorious dawning
of the very first created day.

Many years have passed and gone since that first day
with its pristine light did shine
including times when in the garden Adam
walked and talked with God Divine.

But sin through disobedience brought
separation between God and man
and God through grace began to implement
His wonderful salvation plan.

To walk with men on earth and to climb
that Calvary hill and there to die
To save us from the penalty of our sin
and the law to satisfy.

You have always been there,
throughout the history of the human race
and Lord, You will always be there,
when the new heaven and earth takes its place.

When this old creation has passed away
and the new Jerusalem appears
and the multitude of redeemed sing your praises
through the eternal years.

Poor Soul

Poor soul, why have you chosen this body,
decided to dwell in me? A human being
while you could have had anybody
and you could have inhabited a more divine thing?

Yet you those someone on this sinful planet called earth
a mere speck in the entire universe
and from my very birth
had to struggle in a world perverse

from what it had been designed to be
and what will you inhabit when
time and destiny brings a end to me
and where will you be then?

Or will you just vanish with the thing called life,
fading into the naught without strive?

The Sky And The Earth

Long ago the sky loved the earth.
But they could not meet,
Because of fear of sun's wrath,
Who paralyzed the earth with heat.

Then the sky cried,
And relieved the earth.
Through the rivers that flew wide
From angry sun's wrath

When at night sun went to sleep,
There was darkness all around.
And the sky used to weep
Until to help him moon and stars came round.

Now the sky could see the earth at night,
For the moon and stars shone bright.
Every thing was right,
Away from sun's sight.

But sun came to know,
And took a vow.
To punish sky and earth,
And asteroids and meteors took birth.

They smashed the earth raising dust cloud.
And the sky bust aloud,
And it wept continuously.
Until earth's scars were filled completely.

Sun became angrier because sky had dared,
To undo the punishment sun had ordered.
And now he shone more bright,
And the whole sky was set alight.

The sky yelped in pain,
But his every try was in vain.
For he had challenged the sun's might,
And got himself into a suicidal fight.

And to this day when the earth is warmed,
The sky weeps relieving earth's pain.
And it seems to meet at horizon,
And after sky weeps a rainbow is formed.

And to this day the sky is waiting
With patience unexhausted.
For the day when the sun will be dead,
And for the day of their meeting.

Passing of Things

All we have in the here and now, will be used or lost somehow,
When this life on earth is past, nothing on earth for us will last.
As we leave this world behind, we enter one, beyond our mind,
Even our bodies God will replace, through His Amazing Grace.

On earth moth and rust destroy, things that give us earthly joy,
Bringing to our life loss and pain, from items we cannot regain.
As this life comes to the end, there is eternity around the bend,
And as life comes to a close, an Eternal Life for all God chose.

Thoughts again of loss, never, as we have life in Christ forever,
For God chose men He knew, would believe His Son to be true.
Planning for men who believe, an eternity minds can’t conceive,
With their own eternal abode, that moth or rust will ever corrode.

But unbelievers will never see, the Heaven prepared for eternity,
They’ll experience greater loss, in denying the love of the cross.
Content with things of the earth, they see no need for new birth,
One in which they’re born of God, to live above this earthly sod.

They refuse to believe in Christ, and will never enter Eternal Life,
They obtain nothing from Him; who gave His life for all their sin.
As crowns are given to those, who follow Jesus Christ who rose,
At his feet the crowns we’ll cast, entering an eternity that will last.

Kosmos

WHO includes diversity, and is Nature,
Who is the amplitude of the earth, and the coarseness and sexuality
of the earth, and the great charity of the earth, and the
equilibrium also,
Who has not look'd forth from the windows, the eyes, for nothing, or
whose brain held audience with messengers for nothing;
Who contains believers and disbelievers--Who is the most majestic
lover;
Who holds duly his or her triune proportion of realism, spiritualism,
and of the aesthetic, or intellectual,
Who, having consider'd the Body, finds all its organs and parts good;
Who, out of the theory of the earth, and of his or her body,
understands by subtle analogies all other theories,
The theory of a city, a poem, and of the large politics of These
States;
Who believes not only in our globe, with its sun and moon, but in
other globes, with their suns and moons;
Who, constructing the house of himself or herself, not for a day, but
for all time, sees races, eras, dates, generations, 10
The past, the future, dwelling there, like space, inseparable
together.

Over All

The Lord Jesus is over everything, as The Sovereign and Eternal King,
He is Creator and Sustainer of all, that moves upon this terrestrial ball.
And all around it He has dispersed, His Light throughout this universe,
The many lights displaying His Majesty, this as far as any eye can see,
Everything created for His pleasure, greater than anyone can measure.

All for His pleasure without any end; all that the eye can see my friend.
All upon the earth was made by Him, everything that is, except our sin,
However, sin did come through, one God created, before me and you.
Created in God’s Heavenly place, but, in pride, Lucifer fell from Grace,
Then was cast down to this earthly sod, as that Eternal Enemy of God.

With this, from God, came a curse, upon His creation and all the earth,
Friend, upon this earth, men would fall, into sin, those great and small,
But, God would send reconciliation, to the earth through His Salvation,
Giving sinful man the eternal victory, over sin and God’s eternal enemy,
Redeeming in Christ, all fallen men, and the earth that was condemned.

The Eternal God and our Creator, came down to earth to be our Savior,
He became poor, for you and me, when He left those riches of Eternity,
Emptying himself of all but love, Christ left His Throne in Heaven above.
Coming down, He still was God, but, now as a man on this earthly sod,
But, Christ came to earth, not to live, for His own life, He came to give.

The Human Eye

God made the eye-
An extension of brain:
To see the beauty of all things,
He made.

God made the eye-
The mirror of the brain:
To show the mind’s beauty
Within.

God made the eye-
A camera:
To picture Nature’s lively snaps,
For man.

God made the eye-
A receiver:
To gather photic stimuli
For thought.

God made the eye-
Lovely:
To give expression to the face
Of man.

God made the eye-
For sight:
To perceive what the environs
Can give.

God made the eye-
For knowing world of good and bad:
To walk the roads in Heaven’s light,
On earth.

God made the eye-
For seeing light in dark alleys:
To look before one leaps in life
On earth.

God made the eye-
With two fine lids:
To prevent vice
From reaching mind.

God made the eye-
To see and feel:
The Omniscient Lord
Of creation.

God made the eye-
To know His love
And mercy great:
For man and beast.

God made the eye-
To see the light
Of Godliness
On earth’s terrain.

God made the eye-
To choose the road
That leads to Hell
Or to Heaven.

Mother Earth Gods Wonder

The infinity of space filled by the maker in a nano second
Makes galaxies with burning stars orbitally beckon

Planets to fly turning in their orbit,
Mother Earth Gods wonder creation to fit

Orbits round the sun the giver of her life to justify
The gift for mankind we must thank the Lord for ever high.

The Earth's baby Moon caress's the night time stars
We all look in wonder from Venus to Mars,

Forever and ever we must look after this planet of blue
With faith that is strong every day that is new,
Hallelujah and Amen.

My God, I Thank Thee who Hast Made

My God, I thank Thee who hast made
The earth so bright;
So full of splendour and of joy,
Beauty and light;
So many glorious things are here,
Noble and right!

I thank Thee, too, that Thou hast made
Joy to abound;
So many gentle thoughts and deeds
Circling us round,
That in the darkest spot of earth
Some love is found.

I thank Thee more that all our joy
Is touched with pain;
That shadows fall on brightest hours;
So that earth's bliss may be our guide,
And not our chain.

For Thou, who knowest, Lord, how soon
Our weak heart clings,
Hath given us joys, tender and true,
Yet all with wings;
So that we see, gleaming on high,
Diviner things.

I thank Thee, Lord, that Thou hast kept
The best in store:
We have enough, yet not too much
To long for more;
A yearning for a deeper peace,
Not known before.
