Advice To A Raven In Russia (1812)
Black fool, why winter here? These frozen skies,
Worn by your wings and deafen'd by your cries,
Should warn you hence, where milder suns invite,
And day alternates with his mother night.
You fear perhaps your food will fail you there,
Your human carnage, that delicious fare
That lured you hither, following still your friend
The great Napoleon to the world's bleak end.
You fear, because the southern climes pour'd forth
Their clustering nations to infest the north,
Barvarians, Austrians, those who Drink the Po
And those who skirt the Tuscan seas below,
With all Germania, Neustria, Belgia, Gaul,
Doom'd here to wade thro slaughter to their fall,
You fear he left behind no wars, to feed
His feather'd canibals and nurse the breed.
Fear not, my screamer, call your greedy train,
Sweep over Europe, hurry back to Spain,
You'll find his legions there; the valliant crew
Please best their master when they toil for you.
Abundant there they spread the country o'er
And taint the breeze with every nation's gore,
Iberian, Lussian, British widely strown,
But still more wide and copious flows their own.
Go where you will; Calabria, Malta, Greece,
Egypt and Syria still his fame increase,
Domingo's fatten'd isle and India's plains
Glow deep with purple drawn from Gallic veins.
No Raven's wing can stretch the flight so far
As the torn bandrols of Napoleon's war.
Choose then your climate, fix your best abode,
He'll make you deserts and he'll bring you blood.
How could you fear a dearth? have not mankind,
Tho slain by millions, millions left behind?
Has not CONSCRIPTION still the power to weild
Her annual faulchion o'er the human field?
A faithful harvester! or if a man
Escape that gleaner, shall he scape the BAN?
The triple BAN, that like the hound of hell
Gripes with three joles, to hold his victim well.
Fear nothing then, hatch fast your ravenous brood,
Teach them to cry to Bonaparte for food;
They'll be like you, of all his suppliant train,
The only class that never cries in vain.
For see what mutual benefits you lend!
(The surest way to fix the mutual friend)
While on his slaughter'd troops your tribes are fed,
You cleanse his camp and carry off his dead.
Imperial Scavenger! but now you know
Your work is vain amid these hills of snow.
His tentless troops are marbled thro with frost
And change to crystal when the breath is lost.
Mere trunks of ice, tho limb'd like human frames
And lately warm'd with life's endearing flames,
They cannot taint the air, the world impest,
Nor can you tear one fiber from their breast.
No! from their visual sockets, as they lie,
With beak and claws you cannot pluck an eye.
The frozen orb, preserving still its form,
Defies your talons as it braves the storm,
But stands and stares to God, as if to know
In what curst hands he leaves his world below.
Fly then, or starve; tho all the dreadful road
From Minsk to Moskow with their bodies strow'd
May count some Myriads, yet they can't suffice
To feed you more beneath these dreary skies.
Go back, and winter in the wilds of Spain;
Feast there awhile, and in the next campaign
Rejoin your master; for you'll find him then,
With his new million of the race of men,
Clothed in his thunders, all his flags unfurl'd,
Raging and storming o'er the prostrate world.
War after war his hungry soul requires,
State after State shall sink beneath his fires,
Yet other Spains in victim smoke shall rise
And other Moskows suffocate the skies,
Each land lie reeking with its people's slain
And not a stream run bloodless to the main.
Till men resume their souls, and dare to shed
Earth's total vengeance on the monster's head,
Hurl from his blood-built throne this king of woes,
Dash him to dust, and let the world repose.

There is no Fear
The people of this world, if against they stand,
There is no fear, there is no fear, nothing like fear.
Although, we are counted cheap and rebuked,
There is no fear , there is no fear , nothing like fear.
If to beg for food, would be a life attained,
There is no fear , there is no fear , nothing like fear.
Loveable possessions if, are lost,
There is no fear , there is no fear , nothing like fear.
2. If clothed bosomed damsels, cast their eyes
There is no fear , there is no fear , nothing like fear.
Poison in the mouth, if fed by friends
There is no fear , there is no fear , nothing like fear.
Shielded armies, if to attack approach
There is no fear , there is no fear , nothing like fear.
On the acme of my head, if the sky did crash and plummet down
There is no fear , there is no fear , nothing like fear.

Fear is Everywhere You look
Everyone has a fear
They don’t even know where it comes from
Fear is everywhere you don’t have to look
There are fears that scare little kids
Like the dark or the monster in the closet
But without fear the world would fall into darkness
There are some people that fear other people
And some that fear water
But a lot of people fear the end of the world
There are people that do not have any fear
They are the people that are different
Even if they hide their fears from humanity
I am someone that is different
But I will tell you my fear
And that is
The fear of my friends dying first
I could not live with out my friends
A man once told me that fear is away to run
Show no fear even in the eyes of the end
Fear is everywhere you look
I told you my fear
I think that you have a fear too
But if you dare to tell
That is your choose
I do not control you
I have said that fear is everywhere you look
What is your worst fear? ? ?
I will not judge you if you tell! ! !

Only Human
Its only human to despise the weak
Its only human to despise yourself when youre weak
I dont know why
But thats the way that its always been
And I play by the rules I dont understand at all
Its only human to be lazy and vain
Its only human to expect a world thats just as vain
I dont know why
I want to believe that its not that way
But Im johnny come lately, its not my place to say
Theres no escape, tell me why do they try so hard?
And I pretend that Im invincible, that I can go it all alone
But Im only human, trying to get by
And praying to heaven I might find out why am I human
Mere flesh and blood
Afraid to go on without someone to hold me up
Its just a human thing to fear the unknown
But isnt it a tragic thing to live and die alone
Oh lord look at the world,
Have you ever seen so much misery?
Like a ghost ship of fools, lost and floating out to sea
And they climb and they fall
Yet they struggle on the same fault
But theyre only human, trying to get by
And praying to heaven they might find out
Why are we human
Mere flesh and blood
Were afraid to go on without someone to hold us up

Its That Fear
It's that fear
Ooo very scary! !
I bet you don't know it
Keeps you worried
It's that fear...
Very loud in your ear..
But not everyone could hear
It's that fear
Why? Y u even here
Leaving people in tears..
It's that fear
Born and raised
Can be of denial
Struggles, family or revival
It's that fear
That keeps consuming..
Consuming us in out! !
Eating us away...
It's that fear
The fear we hate
Come to us in pace
In life circumstance
It's that fear
Can anyone hear?
Like a monster or dear?
I wish it was fair..
it's that fear
Some say never fear
But in the back they tear
Overwhelmed can't even dare
Trying to overcome the fear..
It's that fear
The fear which keep us
Us alive and awake
Awake from unexpected
Awake to fight against
It's that fear
I want all to hear..
You and me here..
We need to chase Mr. Fear
We could make it
Make this a better world
Without the fear
The fear of loss
The fear of famine
The fear of war
The fear of poverty
The fear of religion
The fear of recognition
Why are we in fear...?
Can't it be there not here..
It's time to chase him out there
Leaving us in peace in here
It's that fear
The fear which is not only mine
It's that fear for all
The fear we both hear
Hear from different angles
Hear in different times
We all just don't want him here...
The fear we both imagine
An illusion body..
Could affect your goals
Never entertain that fear.
Fear Of The World
Theres so much panic in this world
But we are living in the best
Of all possible worlds
Fear of the world
No fear, no fear of the world
Deep inside of me
Well I got this wanderlust
Remember how we talked last night?
Well its just as we discussed
Ashes turn to ashes
Cash turns to dust
Theres no-one in this world right now
You think you can trust
No real bruises I can show
Travelling the world on the radio
No real scars I can display
Burning up tomorrow into yesterday
Fear of the world
No fear, no fear of the world
Deep inside of me
In the seat of my pants
Theres a pain as big and hard
As a civil disturbance
Conquer all your fears
Seize every chance
In the end make fear your friend
And change your circumstance
No real bruises I can show
Travelling the world on the radio
No real scars I can display
Burning up tomorrow into yesterday
Fear of the world
No fear, no fear of the world
Fear of the world
No fear, no fear of the world

Friends of stones
It is not a paradise
although the sing of birds
It is not the Hell
although the song of birds
although the sound of waves
it is only our world
with many songs in the sky
with many birds in the dream
with many birds in really
It ‘s here that we are living
we are little, very little
we are old, very old
we are wandering,
wandering and loving
this space
we are also
friends of stones
friends of rocks
Fear is with us
But what fear?
A fear sweet
A fear black
or another fear?
Where is the fire of the fear?
Where is the fear of the fear?
Into our World
in a deep of monster
nobody know this
in this world of the words
in this words of the world
but what fear screechs
here and now
without your hands
of red sun?

To The Genius Of Africa
O thou who from the mountain's height
Roll'st down thy clouds with all their weight
Of waters to old Niles majestic tide;
Or o'er the dark sepulchral plain
Recallest thy Palmyra's ancient pride,
Amid whose desolated domes
Secure the savage chacal roams,
Where from the fragments of the hallow'd fane
The Arabs rear their miserable homes!
Hear Genius hear thy children's cry!
Not always should'st thou love to brood
Stern o'er the desert solitude
Where seas of sand toss their hot surges high;
Nor Genius should the midnight song
Detain thee in some milder mood
The palmy plains among
Where Gambia to the torches light
Flows radiant thro' the awaken'd night.
Ah, linger not to hear the song!
Genius avenge thy children's wrong!
The Daemon COMMERCE on your shore
Pours all the horrors of his train,
And hark! where from the field of gore
Howls the hyena o'er the slain!
Lo! where the flaming village fires the skies!
Avenging Power awake--arise!
Arise thy children's wrong redress!
Ah heed the mother's wretchedness
When in the hot infectious air
O'er her sick babe she bows opprest--
Ah hear her when the Christians tear
The drooping infant from her breast!
Whelm'd in the waters he shall rest!
Hear thou the wretched mother's cries,
Avenging Power awake! arise!
By the rank infected air
That taints those dungeons of despair,
By those who there imprison'd die
Where the black herd promiscuous lie,
By the scourges blacken'd o'er
And stiff and hard with human gore,
By every groan of deep distress
By every curse of wretchedness,
By all the train of Crimes that flow
From the hopelessness of Woe,
By every drop of blood bespilt,
By Afric's wrongs and Europe's guilt,
Awake! arise! avenge!
And thou hast heard! and o'er their blood-fed plains
Swept thine avenging hurricanes;
And bade thy storms with whirlwind roar
Dash their proud navies on the shore;
And where their armies claim'd the fight
Wither'd the warrior's might;
And o'er the unholy host with baneful breath
There Genius thou hast breath'd the gales of Death.
So perish still the robbers of mankind!
What tho' from Justice bound and blind
Inhuman Power has snatch'd the sword!
What tho' thro' many an ignominious age
That Fiend with desolating rage
The tide of carnage pour'd!
Justice shall yet unclose her eyes,
Terrific yet in wrath arise,
And trample on the tyrant's breast,
And make Oppresion groan opprest.

Gwin King of Norway
Come, kings, and listen to my song:
When Gwin, the son of Nore,
Over the nations of the North
His cruel sceptre bore;
The nobles of the land did feed
Upon the hungry poor;
They tear the poor man's lamb, and drive
The needy from their door.
`The land is desolate; our wives
And children cry for bread;
Arise, and pull the tyrant down!
Let Gwin be humblèd!'
Gordred the giant rous'd himself
From sleeping in his cave;
He shook the hills, and in the clouds
The troubl'd banners wave.
Beneath them roll'd, like tempests black,
The num'rous sons of blood;
Like lions' whelps, roaring abroad,
Seeking their nightly food.
Down Bleron's hills they dreadful rush,
Their cry ascends the clouds;
The trampling horse and clanging arms
Like rushing mighty floods!
Their wives and children, weeping loud,
Follow in wild array,
Howling like ghosts, furious as wolves
In the bleak wintry day.
`Pull down the tyrant to the dust,
Let Gwin be humblèd,'
They cry, `and let ten thousand lives
Pay for the tyrant's head.'
From tow'r to tow'r the watchmen cry,
`O Gwin, the son of Nore,
Arouse thyself! the nations, black
Like clouds, come rolling o'er!'
Gwin rear'd his shield, his palace shakes,
His chiefs come rushing round;
Each, like an awful thunder cloud,
With voice of solemn sound:
Like rearèd stones around a grave
They stand around the King;
Then suddenly each seiz'd his spear,
And clashing steel does ring.
The husbandman does leave his plough
To wade thro' fields of gore;
The merchant binds his brows in steel,
And leaves the trading shore;
The shepherd leaves his mellow pipe,
And sounds the trumpet shrill;
The workman throws his hammer down
To heave the bloody bill.
Like the tall ghost of Barraton
Who sports in stormy sky,
Gwin leads his host, as black as night
When pestilence does fly,
With horses and with chariots--
And all his spearmen b 1000 old
March to the sound of mournful song,
Like clouds around him roll'd.
Gwin lifts his hand--the nations halt;
`Prepare for war!' he cries--
Gordred appears!--his frowning brow
Troubles our northern skies.
The armies stand, like balances
Held in th' Almighty's hand;--
`Gwin, thou hast fill'd thy measure up:
Thou'rt swept from out the land.'
And now the raging armies rush'd
Like warring mighty seas;
The heav'ns are shook with roaring war,
The dust ascends the skies!
Earth smokes with blood, and groans and shakes
To drink her children's gore,
A sea of blood; nor can the eye
See to the trembling shore!
And on the verge of this wild sea
Famine and death doth cry;
The cries of women and of babes
Over the field doth fly.
The King is seen raging afar,
With all his men of might;
Like blazing comets scattering death
Thro' the red fev'rous night.
Beneath his arm like sheep they die,
And groan upon the plain;
The battle faints, and bloody men
Fight upon hills of slain.
Now death is sick, and riven men
Labour and toil for life;
Steed rolls on steed, and shield on shield,
Sunk in this sea of strife!
The god of war is drunk with blood;
The earth doth faint and fail;
The stench of blood makes sick the heav'ns;
Ghosts glut the throat of hell!
O what have kings to answer for
Before that awful throne;
When thousand deaths for vengeance cry,
And ghosts accusing groan!
Like blazing comets in the sky
That shake the stars of light,
Which drop like fruit unto the earth
Thro' the fierce burning night;
Like these did Gwin and Gordred meet,
And the first blow decides;
Down from the brow unto the breast
Gordred his head divides!
Gwin fell: the sons of Norway fled,
All that remain'd alive;
The rest did fill the vale of death,
For them the eagles strive.
The river Dorman roll'd their blood
Into the northern sea;
Who mourn'd his sons, and overwhelm'd
The pleasant south country.

What is fear?
Fear is stormy weather
Fear is light as a feather
Fear is rain
Fear is pain
Fear is hiding in the dark
Fear is lingering at the park
Fear is not your friend
Fear is hard to comprehend
Fear is not knowing what to do
Fear is what ever he wants to
Fear is turning out the lights
Fear is having no sight
Fear is going to give you a thrill
Fear is also going to make you kill
Fear is never fun
Fear is going to make you run
Fear is that scary little voice
Fear is going to give you no other choice
Fear is losing someone
Fear is like a loaded gun
Fear is something you can't control
Fear is something you can't unfold
Fear is the opposite of love
Fear is what we're made of
Fear is not going to please
Fear is always me...

Rage (Vita-mix)
Let's face the music
I think that it's time
What's the use when the future
Looks so unkind?
Life and death
The choice we make
Revolution
The line my mind takes
Win or lose, hey
What do you say?
Gotta cha- cha- cha- change
Check it out and see, there may be a better lifestyle
My hopes are as big as the sky
My dreams are wider than wide
One day we'll be
Absolutely cruelty-free
March on
Unleash the spirit
Rise above all fear
Into the light
It's a world affair
Don't waste a minute
Let the heart decide
It's time to care
What is this sad fascination
To rip off another's skin? (shame, shame, shame)
Fancy people in fur coats, what a pitiful sight
Leather is dead, it's not so nice
(rage)
March on
Unleash the spirit
Rise above all fear
Into the light
It's a world affair
Don't waste a minute
Let the heart decide
It's time to care
Stop, think before you chew
Don't eat a creature that won't eat you
Food for everyone
Let's all eat, it's so much fun
Let that chicken be, a cow is not a factory
Fast food slaughter's a criminal waste
We've got to tune ourselves into a new morality
Make some improvement on the human race
Rage
Each time I turn around
Rage
It tears my heart apart
Rage
Each time I see the blood
Hey now
Sentimental feelings are just not good enough
March on
Unleash the spirit
Rise above all fear
It's time to care
March on
Unleash the spirit
Rise above all fear
Into the light
It's a world affair
Don't waste a minute
Let your heart

My Biggest Fear
I have this feeling it’s called fear
I have the fear of who will be dying or will I be next?
If I stop think about “how can I have myself prepare? “.
This fear is consuming me.
It’s like stealing something from me.
I don’t know what it is….
How to deal with it
I want to see it........
Can anyone help me to see?
Does this feeling go away?
Are these feelings real or fake.
I also have a fear of not achieving my dreams
That thought makes me want to scream.
I have Fear of my life.Every day that’s not much
I could say on that, I try give it my strife
The real world gives me fear too.
Sometimes, “I wish everything would disappear
Instead appear into fear”.
The Fear of losing my mother before I am ready to let her go.
What road do I take so I won’t let fear win.
Fear takes my thoughts of losing my husband, and
losing one of my children too.
Even though, I almost did loose a child.
I can let the fear, do what it is doing..
I fear of losing my dearest friend.
I am sorry I cant pretend that fear is not here.
The fear of my own death and the cause of it will be?
I don’t want to see.
The fear of my lifestyle should it be the way it should be lived?
or should it be change?
Do I dear change it, but how?
I know that I have a fear of being alone.
It’s the unknown
Is My Biggest Fear

Fear
Fear keeps me here because I want to be.
It tells me of the dangers that I want to see.
It says that stop is better than go.
It warns me against what I don’t know.
Fear soothes me and makes me feel
That the risks and pitfalls are really real.
It tells me I’ll be hurt if I try something new.
Like sunglasses it helps taint my life’s view.
My stultifying friend, fear, and I
Sit on the sidelines, as the world passes by.
Then it dawns on me that fear’s not my friend.
It’s only interested in its own cruel end
Ends like “don’t, ” “can’t, ” and “won’t work.”
Negatives like “too risky, ” “forget it, ” and “shirk.”
Fear has been the driver; I’ve just been in the car.
Unless I’m master of the pedal, I won’t go far.
So I leave fear at the gate since I know I’m the best.
Faith is my passenger and commitment my vest.
There’ll be scary moments and accidents I’m sure
When I cross the finish line, like a Cheshire I’ll purr.
If I address my problems with the solutions they need,
Fear will be defeated as I so sweetly succeed!

Fears of a teenage mafioso
Fear of love,
Fear of pain,
Fear of the unforgiving cane,
Fear of lies,
Fear of sighs,
Fear of those distraught eyes,
Fear for the unknown,
Fear for the known,
Fear of everything combined,
Fear is what makes me blind,
Fear is what makes me think,
and act in blind accordance,
Hindering the world around me,
Hence, My Fear of myself
Fear is when you run away,
Fear is when you’re scared to love someone,
Fear is when the sky turns grey,
Fear of confusion,
Fear is like a dark blue ocean,
Fear won’t let me escape
Fear mocks me, watching
Fear taunts me, waiting
Fear of losing,
Fear you cannot see,
Fear dealt upon thee.
Fear of darkness and death,
Fear of a dead comrade,
Fear of a gun being cocked,
Fear of being endlessly stalked,
Fear of time,
Fear of all the crime,
Fear of the undesirable truth,
Fear for the good.
Fear for the sake of life,
Fear of the neighbors next door,
Fear of the secretive man in the subway,
Fear of the revolutionary uproar,
Fear is to not rejoice your living,
Fear for the sake of your life,
But to fear is to forsake it.
Fear is to have no hope in life,
Fear of the fear of fear,
We need no reason to fear,
For fear has no reason for itself.
I guess life is just like that,
To fear for no reason,
For to fear is not to reason,
But to reason is to fear.
To fear for the sake of fear,
Is fear for fear,
So let me think,
What else do I fear?
What else do I fear?
What else do I fear?

Fear
Fear of seeing a police car pull into the drive.
Fear of falling asleep at night.
Fear of not falling asleep.
Fear of the past rising up.
Fear of the present taking flight.
Fear of the telephone that rings in the dead of night.
Fear of electrical storms.
Fear of the cleaning woman who has a spot on her cheek!
Fear of dogs I've been told won't bite.
Fear of anxiety!
Fear of having to identify the body of a dead friend.
Fear of running out of money.
Fear of having too much, though people will not believe this.
Fear of psychological profiles.
Fear of being late and fear of arriving before anyone else.
Fear of my children's handwriting on envelopes.
Fear they'll die before I do, and I'll feel guilty.
Fear of having to live with my mother in her old age, and mine.
Fear of confusion.
Fear this day will end on an unhappy note.
Fear of waking up to find you gone.
Fear of not loving and fear of not loving enough.
Fear that what I love will prove lethal to those I love.
Fear of death.
Fear of living too long.
Fear of death.
I've said that.

Lose The Fear
Bu bu bu bu, bu bu bu bu
Come back in,
As love get's thin and leaves you dry.
Found that space,
Only to owe you back inside.
You're fading like someone,
Who's given up on life.
And all you've ever left behind,
The scars that burn inside.
You're wishing for someone,
A taste of something better.
Lose the fear.
Bu bu bu bu, Lose the fear.
Bu bu bu bu, Lose the fear.
Bu bu bu bu,
Till it came,
Born to break in someway soon.
Lose the fear.
'Cause nothings easy in this world.
Bu bu bu bu, Lose the fear.
Bu bu bu bu, Lose the fear.
Bu bu bu bu, Lose the fear.
Bu bu bu bu, Lose the fear.
Bu bu bu bu, Lose the fear.

I Fear
I fear for the innocent
I fear for the law
I fear for the young
I fear for the old
I fear for the dead
living in my head
I fear for my sanity
I fear for humanity
I fear for this world
and what we have done
Then I realize
I don't fear at all because...
I fear

Feared Republic
Nation is thrilled and filled,
Celebrating January 26,2010.
Viewing the labored faces in the idiot box,
I am brooding,
What we have achieved?
What we have lost?
Is it only a talked republic and
Much cherished constitution?
I want to introspect,
What is it that makes my nation weak?
Why million cries beat my heart day round
And make me feared abound.
Fear of rising index of crime and corruption,
Fear of soaring prices and empty bellies,
Fear of unholy nights and bloody days,
Fear of endless wait for justice,
Fear of chair deals by corrupt mohanics coalitions,
Fear of blast and mines,
Fear of blood thirsty Maowadis and Jihadis,
Fear of intruders welcomed without visas,
Fear of cross border enemies nourished as friends,
Fear of valued slaughter goats and unvalued girls,
Fear of despair in abundance,
Fear of banishment of hope and peace,
Fear why I love my dear sick nation?
Where merit is crushed and dreams shattered.
I am done with these fears.
My leaders secular ask me
To throw the fear and love out.
Then I cherished a dream inside,
Some one wakes us up,
Some who will make nation proud
And take the nation on cloud ninth,
Someone will act and heel our wounded world,
And not to wait for the dried flowers and devastated dreams,
To bloom in the next world.

Two Gods
‘Twas in the spring, two Gods gazed down upon the bright new land,
And one was Hope and one was Fear, and Hope it was who planned
This nation with its beauty and its wealth would surely be
The shining light to all the Earth - this was the God's decree.
But Fear it was who scratched his chin and begged to differ there,
Said he, that he would wager it would all end in despair,
And Hope took up the wager, for he was true to his name,
At stake the new land's fate, as Hope and Fear began the game.
And through that spring, the nation thrived, as sailing oceans wide
Came people from the worn out lands, where hope had all but died.
They cleared and built and farmed and tilled and made the country bloom.
They left, in far divided lands, dark thoughts of hate and doom.
Hope smiled at his companion but Fear's face showed no concern;
Still all went well, and soon to summer saw the season turn.
The cities grew, the country thrived, they battled drought and flood.
In foreign wars, sometimes in vain, spilled of their best their blood.
But built unique a people proud, united in their quest,
To not allow the old hatreds, to only choose the best.
No creed that would divide them, would they in this place allow;
They knew the course of history, their stance they would avow.
Then autumn came and Hope remained, but near, a nagging Fear.
The two gazed from the firmament, they heard the people jeer.
The calls to scrap the old ways, and embrace the new found truth;
Abandon hope and vision now that doubt and fear were sooth.
The old ideas like gilded leaves from wisdom's tree must fall,
As all around from ivory towers rang out the strident call,
And right across the land there spread a dark and mouldering cloud,
And those who shouting warnings soon were trampled by the crowd.
The old ways were all wrong - the cry of wreckers seeking power,
As winter's cold winds start to blow comes on the final hour,
And Fear smiles wide at Hope, and to him slowly shows his hand,
And in his palm, with sinking heart, Hope lays the promised land.
