When he leaves, after counting still bodies
wrapped in white sheets, when he goes,

(Love Poem) 4 Days and Counting

4 days and counting,
the excitement is mounting,
a new a life, a better life, full of happiness.
Saying all these goodbyes,
bring tears to the eyes.
Its a fading sunrise.
That first moment Ill forever cherish.
First impressions, first impressions,
will everything go right.
Its the mornings delight, to see you.
Even if it means the loss of a future that
I don't know what holds.
Only in a world so cold could
I either say no or let go.

4 days and counting,
the truest emotions surmounting.
Going for it all, the story book fight.
Reading it under a child's night light.
Making it work even when were at our worse.
All my energy being dispersed,

My life was stalling over, and over again.

GRAINS of SAND

Grains of sand
on which I stand
burn my feet
from the sun's intense heat.
I bury them quickly
to keep them cool.
The grains of sand
can be too cruel.
And now I know
I played the fool
for I left my sandals
where it was cool.
Afraid to move,
I see a child.
I call to him
as if I'm wild.
'My shoes, my shoes
please bring them here.'
He looks and waves,
then disappears.
And so I stay
and face the day
stuck in grains of sand.

Domino

In the glow of the night
The grey of evening fills the room,
Theres no need to look outside,
To see or feel the rain.
Then I reach across to touch her,
But I know that shes not there.
Rain keeps running down the window pane.
Time is running out for me.
Cant you see what you are doing to me?
Cant you see what you have done?
As I try to pass another long and sleepless night,
A hundred crazy voices call my name,
As I try to pass them by,
I almost can believe that she is here,
Here in the glow of the night.

Lonely people, empty rooms,
Pointless violence, silent tombs.

Sheets of double glazing help to keep outside the night,

My days are but the tombs of buried hours ;
