I am a candle and you are my flame-
without you I am nothing
but a world without sun.
We are one as though some past destiny
has bound us like a woman to her man.
You knew that with one touch from you,
I'd melt my life away.
But then you kept a distance
even though you want to touch me not just once.

The candle and the fly

A woman in love is a candle;
Her love and the candle’s flame are to burn.
Her pining is the candle’s burning.
They pine and burn and exhaust themselves.

A man in love is like a fly;
Both are in flight towards their targets
Of love and flame, to which they succumb
By one longing and the other by falling.

The candle is burnt; so is the beloved.
The fly is burnt; so is the lover.
No doubt, the end for them is mere ash
But their pursuits gave them enough push.

Touch not a woman to hurt
but touch in tenderness and in love
touch not a woman to kill

but to bless, and make jolly.

Is it not known all over the earth
that woman is the mother of all creation?
She needs her respect, her love and beauty
she is adorned with beauty, meticulously put together
to move who ever sees her

Who gives the right to strike woman?
what authority do you have to abuse her
what power do you have to violet her rights
look man, you are because of her

Gone are the days, when women meant nothing
they now mean everything, they put food on the table
pay fees for their children, fend for their families.

Desire

You touch me
and my world stands still.

As I sit at home in my chair
I think of her as she's not there
Remembering the talks that we held
We thought of no one but ourselves.
For a moment as though we were one

When I look at you
I melt like a candle
You light a fire in me

The heat and the smoke blinding me

A woman in love is a candle with flame.
Like the candle, she burns out by pining.
A man in love is like a fly in flight.
Like the fly, he dies by the fire of love.

The woman and the candle end as ash.
The man and the fly end as the charred.
They all had had their quotas of pleasure

We, the impotent need not mock at them.
