No Sin, No Stone
A pin was dropped
The sound was heard
A hundred seconds ago
A charge was laid
And the stage was set
A woman in the very act
With a man she made no marriage pact
A gathering of mortals
Ears tuned to the great immortal
The concentration broken
As accused, accusers, and stones emerged
'The law is this, and broke she did'
He snubs and stoops
Each grain of sand whispers in one accord
'Our maker touches us'
He seemingly writes nothing on them
'The law is this, and broke she did'
They echoed in pissed symphony
'What says 'god'? '
With ache in throat and pain in heart
Eyes are raised from sand level to soul level
In one gaze piercing the conscience of all present
A phrase is uttered
'He that is without sin, please cast the first stone'
The sands danced again as his fingers played with them
A pin was dropped
And the sound heard
All but one who openly had sin
Stood in shock or awe or tears
As all who had no sin, suddenly now had sin
And faded into the thin evening air
Leaving her alone with him, who had no sin
Had no sin and yet not one stone
As tears washed her heart
He writes forgiveness for her
As his Father had written in the beginning
He wrote as the pin hit the ground
I love you deeply and forgive your sins
...and he with no sin, cast no stone.

Lassitude
I laid me down beside the sea,
Endless in blue monotony;
The clouds were anchored in the sky.
Sometimes a sail went idling by.
Upon the shingles on the beach
Grey linen was spread out to bleach,
And gently with a gentle swell
The languid ripples rose and fell.
A fisher-boy, in level line,
Cast stone by stone into the brine:
Methought I too might do as he,
And cast my sorrows on the sea.
The old, old sorrows in a heap
Dropped heavily into the deep;
But with its sorrow on that day
My heart itself was cast away.

Write in Sand and Stone
Today, my friend yelled at me.
I wrote in sand my friend yelled at me.
Today, my friend punched me.
I wrote in sand my friend punched me.
Today, my friend cursed me.
I wrote in sand my friend cursed me.
Today, my friend abandoned me.
I wrote in sand my friend abandoned me.
Today, my friend insulted me.
I wrote in sand my friend insulted me.
Today, my friend asked me for forgiveness.
I wrote in stone my friend asked for forgiveness.
Today, my friend saved my life.
I wrote in stone my friend saved my life.
Today, my friend made me smile.
I wrote in stone my friend made me smile.
Today, my friend told me she cares for me.
I wrote in stone my friend cares for me.
Today, my friend was grateful for me.
I wrote in stone my friend was grateful for me.
I wrote in sand the bad things my friend did to me.
I wrote in stone the nice things did to me.
Winds will erase the bad things written in sand.
Nothing can erase the nice things written in stone.

I Broke It All In Two
How could I have been so cruel
After all you've done for me
I should go back to school
To learn
The ways
Of love
I see the tables turn
Please don't desert me now
I acted like a fool
I know
I just stumble
Through the night
I pushed you way too far
Though you're my guiding star
I broke it all in two (broke it all in two)
Like a row of paper chains (a row of paper chains)
My heart's not made of stone (heart's not made of stone)
Though it seems to be that way
Baby, what can I say?
You mean the world to me
Don't throw it all away
I promise
I'll change
One day
I pushed you way too far
Though you're my guiding star
I broke it all in two (broke it all in two)
Like a row of paper chains (a row of paper chains)
My heart's not made of stone (heart's not made of stone)
Though it seems to be that way (my heart's not made of stone)
I pushed you way too far
Though you're my guiding star
I broke it all in two (broke it all in two)
Like a row of paper chains (a row of paper chains)
My heart's not made of stone (heart's not made of stone)
Though it seems to be that way (my heart's not made of stone)
I broke it all in two (broke it all in two)
Like a row of paper chains (a row of paper chains)
My heart's not made of wood (heart's not made of wood)
Though it seems to be that way

Rolling Stone
Sitting on the front porch,
Waiting for you to come home.
Visions of reuniting in my head.
Only bitter-sweet memories, no holidays, no Christmas trees.
Broken promises I've got instead.
How I used to wonder, "Where did I go wrong?
How you could have stayed away so long?"
Thank God for my mother,
Her's was no easy song.
Thank God that He showed me how to get along.
My papa was a rolling stone.
Abandon us and left us 'lone.
And how he broke my heart and hope; had me loose my faith.
Somebody knows what I've been through.
I've understood, I've been there too.
So let me introduce you to my father, Father.
Your story sounds alot like mine.
It's a story heard a thousand times.
Someone hurting leaves in disaray.
Don't you know that God made you more valuable than they ever knew?
You know you can live past their mistakes.
Oh, how I used to wonder "How could all this be?
Someone that you loved so much just turns their back and leaves."
Oh, you need the lover of you soul and
He is able to take care of you annd
He will never leave.
Your papa was a rolling stone.
Abandoned you and left you 'lone.
And how he broke your heart and hope.
He had me loose my faith.
I'm seeing what you're going through.
I understand, I've been there too.
So let me introduce you to my father, Father.
I was lost and out of controle.
Then He found me and saved my soul.
Let me lead you to the one I know.
He can make you whole.
No longer I wonder,
Solid ground under my feet.
I know what my life is worth,
No longer incomplete.
I just want to tell you,
You are truly loved,
By the Maker of the Heavens,
the Creator of the Earth.
You know He's got His hands on you and
That is more than enough.
My papa was a rolling stone.
Abandoned us and left us 'lone.
And how he broke my heart and hope; had me loose my faith.
Somebody saw what I've been through.
They understood, They've been there too.
They gladly introduced me to my father, Father.
Your papa was a rolling stone.
Abandoned you and left you 'lone.
And how he broke your heart and hope.
He had me loose my faith.
I'm seeing what you're going through.
I understand, I've been there too.
So let me introduce you to my father, Father.
Tell me what you're going through.
I understand, I've been there too.
So let my introduce you to my father, Father.

Grain Of Sand
From every grain of sand
That falls from my hand
Through my fingers to the ground
To utter but not a sound,
For like a Human life
That pasted before my eyes
To be here and then be gone
Forgotten like yesterdays dawn.
For like a grain of sand
The Boy became a Man
Who cries tears of His fate,
For He knows for what Man did,
Is from what Man had made.
Though as being caught up in the air
And being blown to who knows where
For where we go, no man knows
And where we die, is where we lie.
We are all here a lifetime
As though it seems a long time
It is though, but a short time,
To live and love, then die.
Like a grain of sand
That falls upon the beach
To be caught up in the rain or air
And to go where no one can reach,
A Girl becomes a Woman
The Boy becomes a Man
And everyone makes their own fall,
Like a simple, grain of sand.

Heart Turns To Stone
The days and nights you sit around wondering where can
She be
Hoping that she might appear, out of nowhere
But you fail to see
All the hurt inside, the wounded pride
Ooh what she went through for you
You cheated and lied, as her love slowly died
And her heart just broke in two
When she was with you, all along
Behind you right or wrong
She tried to hold on, hold on
But you went too far, and shes gone
And now its over and her heart turns to stone
No time for pity, when her heart turns to stone
She cries a little as her heart turns to stone
Shes that kind of woman
Shell do fine on her own
What you thought was a game
A game you were winning
Wouldnt go your way
Now youve lost what you had
And your back to the beginning
Its the price you have to pay
When she was with you, all along
Behind you right or wrong
She tried to hold on, hold on
But you went too far, and shes gone
And now its over and her heart turns to stone
No time for pity, when her heart turns to stone
She cries a little as her heart turns to stone
Shes that kind of woman
Shell get by on her own
She hides the pain
But her heart turns to stone
No time for pity
When her heart turns to stone
She cries sometimes
As her heart turns to stone
Shes that kind of woman
Shell get by on her own
Yeah its over
And her heart turns to stone
Dont look for pity now
When her heart turns to stone
Listen to her cry
Listen to her cry
Shes a woman now
Ooh its a sad thing to see
To see a heart turn to stone
The heart of a woman
A heart turned to stone

Whisper My Name
I heard a freight train out across the way
I heard a woman sing amazing grace
I heard a night bird call to its mate
When I heard you whisper my name
I heard freedom break its chain
A
I heard a heart beat where once on sound remained
I heard angels rise and praise
When I heard you whisper my name
Chorus:
I heard music bring a heart of stone to tears
I heard peace ring like an anthem through the years
And I heard hatred fall from grace
When I heard you whisper my name
Beating softly against the waves
Fell a sound of an early morning rain
And though the lighting and thunder came
I still heard you whisper my name
And I heard angels rise and praise
When I heard you whisper my name

The Stone
"And will you cut a stone for him,
To set above his head?
And will you cut a stone for him--
A stone for him?" she said.
Three days before, a splintered rock
Had struck her lover dead--
Had struck him in the quarry dead,
Where, careless of a warning call,
He loitered, while the shot was fired--
A lively stripling, brave and tall,
And sure of all his heart desired . . .
A flash, a shock,
A rumbling fall . . .
And, broken 'neath the broken rock,
A lifeless heap, with face of clay,
And still as any stone he lay,
With eyes that saw the end of all.
I went to break the news to her:
And I could hear my own heart beat
With dread of what my lips might say;
But some poor fool had sped before;
And, flinging wide her father's door,
Had blurted out the news to her,
Had struck her lover dead for her,
Had struck the girl's heart dead in her,
Had struck life, lifeless, at a word,
And dropped it at her feet:
Then hurried on his witless way,
Scarce knowing she had heard.
And when I came, she stood alone--
A woman, turned to stone:
And, though no word at all she said,
I knew that all was known.
Because her heart was dead,
She did not sigh nor moan.
His mother wept:
She could not weep.
Her lover slept:
She could not sleep.
Three days, three nights,
She did not stir:
Three days, three nights,
Were one to her,
Who never closed her eyes
From sunset to sunrise,
From dawn to evenfall--
Her tearless, staring eyes,
That, seeing naught, saw all.
The fourth night when I came from work,
I found her at my door.
"And will you cut a stone for him?"
She said: and spoke no more:
But followed me, as I went in,
And sank upon a chair;
And fixed her grey eyes on my face,
With still, unseeing stare.
And, as she waited patiently,
I could not bear to feel
Those still, grey eyes that followed me,
Those eyes that plucked the heart from me,
Those eyes that sucked the breath from me
And curdled the warm blood in me,
Those eyes that cut me to the bone,
And cut my marrow like cold steel.
And so I rose and sought a stone;
And cut it smooth and square:
And, as I worked, she sat and watched,
Beside me, in her chair.
Night after night, by candlelight,
I cut her lover's name:
Night after night, so still and white,
And like a ghost she came;
And sat beside me, in her chair,
And watched with eyes aflame.
She eyed each stroke,
And hardly stirred:
she never spoke
A single word:
And not a sound or murmur broke
The quiet, save the mallet stroke.
With still eyes ever on my hands,
With eyes that seemed to burn my hands,
My wincing, overwearied hands,
She watched, with bloodless lips apart,
And silent, indrawn breath:
And every stroke my chisel cut,
Death cut still deeper in her heart:
The two of us were chiselling,
Together, I and Death.
And when at length my job was done,
And I had laid the mallet by,
As if, at last, her peace were won,
She breathed his name, and, with a sigh,
Passed slowly through the open door:
And never crossed my threshold more.
Next night I laboured late, alone,
To cut her name upon the stone.

Turn To Stone
She came from the past
She was never meant to last
Her destiny was fatal
From the start
A messenger from hell
She cast a deadly spell
On all of those who dare
To cross her heart
Aint no use in you trying to run
Fate has taken its toll
Just one look and the damage is done
Burn your eyes
Turn your heart into stone
History foretold of a circle
Cast in gold
An evil seed of power
Sealed within
But fate has lent a hand
Destroyed the golden band
And freed her soul
To wash the land with sin
Aint no use in you trying to run
Fate has taken its toll
Just one look and the damage is done
Burn your eyes
Turn your heart into stone
She cast a deadly spell
She put a spell on you
Shes got evil in her heart
Turn your heart into stone
Turn your heart into stone

I Heard Her Cryin
(karen staley)
The whole night in the kitchen
Saying words well both regret
And you scream you were leaving
And you cursed the day we met
The sound goes above the slamming door
And broken dishes thrown around the floor
So loud it made us stop
It was the sound of a teardrop
Chorus:
When I heard her crying
Thought she was tucked away in bed
I heard her crying
Wish we could take back what we said
I didnt think she was old enough to know
Oh lord we must have hurt her so
When she begged you not to go
I heard her crying
Well Id have given anything
For time to erase
When I turned around and saw
Those little tears roll down her face
Oh my heart nearly broke in two
When she said
Mommy what did I do
To make you and daddy mad
Oh Im sorry I was bad
I looked at you and you looked at me
And we felt each others shame
Kneeling down to hold our child
Said she was not to blame
Now sometimes when were angry
And say things that arent true
We still love each other
And baby we love you
Repeat chorus

The Stone That You Love
you are unique
for having loved a stone
how did the stone
entice you?
are you seduced by
its silence?
are you tempted by
its solitude?
you take the pain
poking the stone to
your heart
and you bleed
you rub the stone
in the skin of your body
hoping that someday
the stone may have
feelings and
love you
but this is all useless
the stone is a stone is a stone
and there is no love
in its blank stare
there is no softness in its
belly
i ponder upon this
and come to think of it
you and the stone
are the same
on this hardheadedness
this futility
this numbness
this suffering without end
the stone can never give
a part of its cracks
it will never part with its
dust

Similis Smiles
Like the moon, he speaks - a silver-
tongued devil dressed in black,
his words slithering across my skin
like rain on the rhombus of a diamondback.
Similis smiles like a vacant house,
like the death of a dappled dove;
and like stains in a broken China cup,
he is at the bottom when it comes to love.
For his heart is like a mangled mass,
a mountain crumbled as grains of sand.
Like a tear to the eye, he clouds the sight,
like a veil of fog across the land.
The senses are stifled from his desert air,
like pressing fingers around my throat.
He slips like a stone, a rolling stone,
into the great ache of life's emote.
Like the grave, he is full of bones -
the ancient sorrow of hapless isles.
He is a carcass of man, an empty shell;
and like a leper, Similis smiles.
Note: A simile is a figure of speech in which two essentially unlike things are compared, often in a phrase introduced by like or as as in: He was as strong as a bull. (Latin, neuter of similis, like.) Thus, the name, Similis Smiles.

Colors of my small world!
My mind was quiet
Time stood still
I was alone in my small world
I longed for a change
I saw you, I saw me
I saw the world in me
I saw the world in prism of my mind
I longed for a rainbow
Winds of change blew
Clouds filled my sky
Thunder and lighting made my day
World shook in pain
My heart broke
Tears dropped down my eyes
I made a kaleidoscope with my broken heart
I saw a rainbow

The Two Debtors
Once a woman silent stood
While Jesus sat at meat;
From her eyes she poured a flood
To wash his sacred feet
Shame and wonder, joy and love;
All at once possessed her mind:
That she e'er so vile could prove,
Yet now forgiveness find.
How came this vile woman here,
Will Jesus notice such?
Sure, if he a prophet were,
He would disdain her touch!
Simon thus, with scornful heart,
Slighted one whom Jesus loved;
But her Saviour took her part,
And thus his pride reproved.
If two men in debt were bound,
One less, the other more;
Fifty, or five hundred pound,
And both alike were poor;
Should the lender both forgive,
When he saw them both distressed;
Which of them would you believe
Engaged to love him best?
Surely he who most did owe,
The Pharisee replied;
Then our Lord, by judging so,
Thou dost for her decide:
Simon if like her you knew
How much you forgiveness need;
You like her had acted too,
And welcomed me indeed!
When the load of sin is felt,
And much forgiveness known;
Then the heart of course will melt,
Though hard before as stone:
Blame not then her love and tears,
Greatly she in debt has been;
But I have removed her fears,
And pardoned all her sin.
When I read this woman's case,
Her love and humble zeal;
I confess, with shame of face,
My heart is made of steel,
Much has been forgiv'n to me,
Jesus paid my heavy score;
What a creature must I be
That I can love no more!

Written In Sand
Your eyes are the color of the sea
You look my way and the waves
Wash over me
Your body shivers with the
Fading light
You say, baby, lets just make
It last tonight.
And when the morning comes
You take me by the hand
And say our love is written in sand
Written in sand
We hear the ocean roar
Were swept away on to some
Distant shore
You whisper secrets of the heart
They keep us close when the
World keeps us apart
Until tomorrow comes
Time is on our hands
Because this love is written in
Sand
Written in sand
Solo
Nothing lies between
A woman and a man
When their love is written in sand
When their love is written in sand
When their love is written in sand

A speech may not
The volumes of speech may not speak much
The desired effect will not be as such
The sea wisdom should be contained in small pot
Nothing should be spoken or wrote
Is the pen mightier than weapon?
What consequences it may follow on?
The message will be conveyed without firing a shot
The war is won without being fought
I surrender to thy wish
My work is still unfinished
I must get it done
Before wind is gone
The sand may blow over
It will not provide any cover
The dark clouds may zoom and hover
I must see to it however
It may be heard from the distance
People may think at it once
It may cast doubt and shadow
See the bright morning through window
What miracle it is going to create?
Why there will not be any hatred?
What human mentality has to do with word power?
It is unique instrument if we fail to understand as poor
Let it flow in free atmosphere
Why there should be any fear?
Let words speak about anguish and tears
The stone wall must cave in and hear
It will not sing an orchestrated theme
It may not have sound and perfect rhythm
It may sound well to the eyes and ears
The bitterness may disappear in few years
Let hearts be changed by its logic
Let there be music spell and magic
Who cares for foundation with any basis?
There is no special reason or any thesis
The pen may rule the hearts so long it has sharpness
The ability to rule and creation of awareness
The blind may follow the word dictates
This is good beginning with new mind set

Love Never Broke Anyones Heart
You say your heart has been broken
And its taking forever to mend
And its left you even more certain
That youll never love again
A long time ago someone told me
Its not love that causes the pain
Whenever a heart has been shattered
Its the losing of love thats to blame
Love never broke anyones heart
It never left anyone scarred
Its not really love if it tears you apart
Love never broke anyones heart
I know your feelings are tender
And youre so afraid they wont heal
Ill prove to you love doesnt hurt you
And Ill show you how true love should feel
Love never broke anyones heart
It never left anyone scarred
Its not really love if it tears you apart
Love never broke anyones heart

Blind Love
Words and music by tom waits
Now youre gone
And its hotels and whiskey and sad luck days
And I dont care if they miss me
I never remember their names
They say if you get far enough away
Youll be on your way back home
Well Im at the station
And I cant get on the train
Must be blind love
The only kind of love is stone blind love
The only kind of love is stone blind love
The only kind of love is stone blind love
Oh blind love
Blind love
Stone blind love
Stone blind love
Well the streets turning blue
The dogs are barking and the night has come
And its tears that are falling
From these brown eyes now
And I wonder where you are
And I whisper your name
(I whisper your name)
And the only way to find you
Is if I close my eyes
And find you with my blind love
The only kind of love is stone blind love
The only kind of love is stone blind love
The only kind of love is stone blind love
Oh blind love
Blind love
Stone blind love
Stone blind love
Oh its blind love
The only kind of love is stone blind love
The only kind of love is stone blind love
The only kind of love is stone blind love
Oh blind love
Blind love

Beautiful Mermaid
Walking the beaches of southern earth
A beauty in my eyes gave new beauty birth
A mermaid washed upon the shores of sand
With a purple shell of love in hand
I picked it up and placed it to my ear
I heard the ocean talk and in my soul fear
I dropped the shell and looked down
The mermaid was dead, she most of drown
Her fins wert made of coral reef
And her heart was made for my belief
In her hair emeralds lights shone
On her finger lay one rock alone
Its color was like an ocean sapphire
More brilliant then an land fire
Her finger tips colored a garnet jade
Whitened there as she laid
I couldn't help to become dour
At such beauty dead, dead galore
SO I pick up the purple shell
And its conch I began to plea
‘Give her life and thou can have me
My song and my rhyme and my earthly glory'
I dropped to the sand, and saw my heart leak
Into her hand, when I became weak
She rose from sleep and looked at me
Dying, she smiled and fled back to the sea
I die not in vain but for beauty
As the mermaid lived for an eternity….
