Ember

My sight finally returns
Only to see my hands covered with the innocent blood
Of those I stand before as an example
And I hold this ember in my heart
It reminds me of who I once was
It's the only warmth that I know

Ember of Your faithfulness
Ember of Your still small voice
Ember of embracing arms
Ember of rebirth to You my King

To You my King I offer up this ember
For the wind of Your Spirit to consume
Consumed by fire

Ember

The old ember is still red hot
Concealed under the dry soot
Alike a drunken architect’ latent intellect
Like a cast off genius in a deep slumber
Like a hidden flower diffusing its scent

People with chattering teeth slither
Around the charring timber; yet compliment
That it’s all due to the fine weather

The old ember doesn’t take any umbrage
It burns and burns till it becomes ashes
Like a sage who sears his desires
To earn the unseen heavens
As if it is paying its last homage
To the humans who nurtured her
Into a tree and later ruthlessly slivered
Into hapless firewood
A sweet-bitter feeling indeed! !

When at last the ember becomes a cinder
Starts all shivering and cowering around
While the absonant conclusions
Are freezing into a cold consciousness
People mutter, “Oh ember! We miss your ardor”

The Ember of love

When we were close
We missed to disclose
What we had close to our chest.

When we discerned the sign
We missed to refine
As I had abruptly for ever left

The ember was kept alive;
Minds were kept captive.
Distance gave boldness.

I returned by miracle
But occurred a debacle
In your sore earlier exit.

Fate didn’t play havoc,
Sometime blowing air,
Sometime springing water.

Ember of love is still alive
As you are not as far off
As I had been earlier. A boon.

How firm we grow in mind,
Away though we live!
Distance blesses in disguise,

However thick we are
We are no more suspects here
As we are now not under one roof

It is time to fan air
Before the time sprinkles water
On our hard fanned ember.

We regretted the missing past
When we were separated.
Not to repeat, let us hasten.

It Took Us All Night Long To Say Goodbye

(bob mcdill/wayland holyfield)
It only took a minute for us to finally end it
I guess wed seen it comin for some time
And it only took one hour to sit and talk it over
But it took us all night long to say goodbye
Now the flame is gone I know
And the ashes have grown cold
And the love we had well never have again
But theres one ember left that must have never died
cause it took us all night long to say goodbye
Too many tears have fallen, too many dreams were broken
And holdin on would be a waste of time
But sometimes I know Ill wonder if it was really over
cause it took us all night to say goodbye
Now the flame is gone I know
And the ashes have grown cold
And the love we had well never have again
But theres one ember left that must have never died
cause it took us all night long to say goodbye
Theres one ember left that must have never died
cause it took us all night long to say goodbye

Approx.20: 15 Hours, February 10, Euphoria (adult Content)

a soft snuggling
tight embrace
a glint like cut diamond shines blue in an ember orange sunset glow
a soft red glow to his cheeks
a red tinge to his lips
more snuggling
lights out
his hands explore what is not his- was not
together we fall, impacting a small family of pillows
I begin what he had started
we lose track of where each of us ends and the other begins
completion of our confusion- insertion
mad, swift motions
cogniscence drowned by euphoria glowng after the ember sunset ends

we lie together, asleep

Morning Ember

Morning Ember
By: Adam M. Snow

I arose from my slumber with haste of morning ember;
to be greeted by a knock on my chamber door.
'Who's there? ' I said as I am greeted with an;
outstretched hand and the pain I feel nevermore.
'It is me, your mourning star, greeting you from afar.'
Quoth the ghost of this morning ember.
I lie back down, confused and alone on this cold;
forsaken morning December.

'I am your morning star, traveled all this way to be;
where you are.' said the ghost on the other side;
of my chamber door.
'Leave me alone! ' I screamed with agony.
'Just let me be on my own.' I said.
As the ghost replied, 'I am your morning star,
your guardian angel who traveled so far.'
I arose from where I lay to be greeted by a woman;
covered in light, wearing a gown so pure and white.

'Who are you? ' I said as fear struck my very core.
'I am your guardian angel showing you there's;
ever so more.' said the ghost now called angel.
'What is it that you want to show? '
I ask 'Surely it's something, I don't know.'
'You were lost but now you're found,
for you are saved by the Son;
with thorns he was crowned.' said the angel;
of morning ember.

'Was I truly lost? ' I said as I stopped to ponder.
Suddenly I remembered how my life I live is broken.
'Surely by listening to all that is spoken then perhaps;
my life will be anew.' I said. 'That is true.'
said the angel. 'By me being here with you changed;
your life but for you to live anew, first you must willingly
ask the father to forgive you.' Quoth the angel of;
morning ember.

My tears fall gently to the ground as I fell to my knees;
all is calm yet all is at ease, to the heaven I look with tears;
in my eye, I called out 'Father' as a started to cry, 'Forgive me,
for I was lost yet I couldn't see for without you I could never be free,
Father forgive me.'

Simplicity is Beauty

What is beauty?
If it is not real
When it cannot last
A day in memory
Cannot lit an ember
Or quench a thirst.

What is beauty
If it is real
When it can last
A lasting memory
Inflame an ember
And quench a thirst.

True beauty
Is in the eyes
Of the beholder
It strikes from within
No matter what
A simplicity is beauty!

Roses In The Snow

(ruth franks)
I met my darlin in the springtime
When all the flowers were in bloom
And like the flowers our love blossomed
We married in the month of june
Our love was like a burning ember
It warmed us as a golden glow
We had sunshine in december
And threw our roses in the snow
Now God has taken my darlin
And left me with a memory
A memory I will always cherish
Are these last words he said to me
Our love was like a burning ember
It warmed us as a golden glow
We had sunshine in december
And threw our roses in the snow
My darlins buried on the hillside
Where all the wild spring flowers grow
And when winter snows start fallin
On his grave Ill place a rose
Our love was like a burning ember
It warmed us as cold winds blow
We had sunshine in december
And threw our roses in the snow

The Voice

The Voice
By: Adam M. Snow

Ever heard of the things that go bump in the night?
When you are alone how it stirs up a fright,
The night's all calm in vespertine stillness,
But that's just the start of a long night of cruelness.
The story starts out with a girl so young,
With boys on her mind as words flow from her tongue.
Her name is Ember, not an age past sixteen,
Alone in a house with something unseen.
Her parent's are gone on a weekend long trip,
Cruising the Bahamas on a romantic cruise ship.
As the story starts she's alone in her room,
On the phone with her best friend Emily Bloom.

'It is true, my parents are gone,
They won't be back till Monday's dawn'
Said Ember to her friend over the phone.
'What are you going to do until then? '
Asked Emily.
'Surely you can't watch movies again and again? '
'I-I'll think of something I guess,
Perhaps I'll read or go out none-the-less.'
'O.k. Ember, I'll let you go for now.'
Said Emily as she hung up the phone and let Ember be.

The clock strikes midnight with her house now eerie,
She remains in her room, alone and dreary.
She lies down onto her bed with an erotic book in her hand,
Getting ready to read, she lies there peacefully and grand.
Thinking of nothing but the book she's about to read,
She hears a loud screech as of a woman screaming with plead.
'It sounds like it came from the room next to mine' she said.
'Must it be my parent's home early from a trip cut short? '
Getting up off her bed, she continues to see what that noise may be.
Walking now down a darkened hallway to the room next to hers,
'Whose there! ? ' She cries out, but not a voice in return.
She turns the light on to find, twas no one there.
'How could this be, am I not the only one here? '
She continued to search all throughout the house,
Only to find no one, not ever her brother's spouse.
'Perhaps was nothing, but my imagination going wild.'
She thought to herself out loud.

Back to her room to where the story first start,
With the night still young and also mild.
She picked up her book and started to read.
Again, she hears the loud screech as of a woman screaming with plead.
'Truly this cannot be my mind playing tricks on me.'
Said Ember now afraid and confused.
'Whose there! ? ' She cries out, again not a voice in return.
'Whose there! ? ' She cries out.
The voice replies, 'Ember.'
'Me? How can that be? Truly I must be dreaming with all these screaming.'
'Ember.' the voice repeats over and over. 'Ember.'
'LEAVE ME ALONE! ' Ember screams with agony.
'LEAVE ME ALONE! ' Ember screams again. 'JUST LET ME BE! '
But the voice failed to cease.
Minutes after minutes went by,
The voice urging Ember to die.
Hours after hours went by,
The voice urging Ember to die.

She runs to the front door hoping to break free,
But nothings there that she cannot see.
She runs to the window hoping to break free,
But nothings there that she cannot see.
She grabs the phone to call the police,
The operator answered and said, 'All lines are busy.'
She's panicking with fear with no way out,
She's hoping this will end, but she's full of doubt.
The voice constant going caused her to go insane,
With Monday's dawn approaching, only bloody stains remain.

A car carrying but two now pulls up to the house,
Exiting one-by-one, her father and his spouse.
Arriving at the front door, opening to see,
No sight of Ember for it's as quiet as can be.
They look all over hoping to find her there,
But what they found no parents should bear,
Twas a bloody message written on the wall,
It read, 'Here lies Ember, a child who lost all.'
Her mother's in panic, her father's outraged.
He grabbed a chair and swung at the wall,
What they found no one could call,
Was Ember's body rotted fifty years,
Her parents crying, shedding tears,
Suddenly there came a loud screech as of someone screaming in pain.
Twas the ghost of Ember, who died mysteriously in vain.

Inward Burning Fire

It's a dark path now - I don't know where it leads.
I only know you're not on it.
Insufficient light comes from the flame in my heart.
The fire you started.

This flame rages seeking fuel to burn and survive.
Give me some coal dust from your hair.
Just some green driftwood shavings from your eyes.
Your oaken wood hands warming mine - they're so cold now.

Better yet, an answering warmth
from the fire burning in your heart for mine.
Nothing serves to heal a dying flame as that meeting would.
But that's my fire seeking what will not be found on this path.

So, the flame turns inward to die out.
I hide the smoke.
It was always enough for you alone to know of this kindling within.
In the flame's death it must be secret still.

The fire consumes internally,
seeking out each memory hidden away.
Consuming every thought I ever had of you.
No one knows the fire's rage
until it turns to them and touches.

It will burn on inward
until it has devoured every memory, every feeling
with sustenance left in it.

It's a painful death,
but once the fire exists
it can only consume until it dies.
I know this science. I accept.
I accepted long ago.
The fire is so warm when first kindled.

Soon, I hope and fear,
only ash will be left.
The pain will be over.
I know I'll be cold but I'll rest.

As for now, while it's still burning,
I will make one vow.
I will save one tiny ember.
I will try to keep it warm and safe.
Just in case the path turns - and there you are.

And if a spark still remains within you too
this dear and dreaded fire can rise again.

Though more likely I know -
my little ember will serve only to remind me what warmth was
and burn my fingers.

Mist Of Desire

Well, here it comes again
That old feelin' so strong
You came into my life
I won your love for a song
And when I see you in my mind baby
Think of the words you will say
And in a mist of desire
Your love takes me away
Girl you take me away
In a mist of desire
And our love's not an ember baby
It's a raging fire
I need to be with you
What else can I say
In a mist of desire
Your love takes me away
I feel the love when we touch
I can see it in your face
I get lost in the shadows of your warm embrace
And you rush into my arms
My emotions run wild
And we're off to a love world
In a mist of desire
Girl you take me away
In a mist of desire
And our love's not an ember baby
It's a raging fire
I need to be with you
What else can I say
In a mist of desire
Your love takes me away

No Fire Left Is Here

Is this from you needed by me?
No.
Is it needed?
Perhaps by someone,
Who seeks this that you offer.
Too often we have dismissed our desires.
That ember you use to spark is out.
No fire left is here.

Once In A While

(m. edwards, b. green)
Once in a while,
Will you try
To give one little thought to me,
Though someone else may be
Nearer your heart?
Once in a while,
Will you dream
Of the moments
I shared with you,
Moments before we two
Drifted apart?
In loves smoldering ember,
One spark may remain.
If love still can remember,
That spark may burn again.
I know that ill
Be contented with
Yesterdays memory,
Knowing you think of me
Once in a while.
~interlude~
Once in a while...
In loves smoldering ember,
One spark may remain.
If love still can remember,
The spark may burn again.
I know that ill
Be contented with
Yesterdays memory,
Knowing you think of me
Once in a while...

Keep On Burning

(ian hunter)
Oh
Well there aint no sense
In burning bridges.
No, there aint no sense
In burning bridges.
If were sorry
Then its our failure
So says the jailor,
Fade? away.
Now there aint no debts,
Just destinations.
Like birds made out of steel,
They fly by.
Lost lovers in a moonlit night,
Broken lovers in a starless night.
I lay my clothes down at your feet
cause all I want is for you
To keep on burning.
Keep on burning, babe,
Keep on burning.
Yeah, keep on burning (burning).
And when that flame dies
Becomes an ember,
Remember, keep on burning (keep on burning).
Can you feel my warmth
Inside of you, babe.
Oh can you feel my blood
Running through your vains.
Dont lay the blame on me, girl,
Just like lovers often will
I lay my heart down at your feet
Oh all I want is for you
To keep on burning,
Keep on burning (burning)
Keep on burning, babe (yeah),
Keep on burning (burning).
cause when that flame dies
Becomes an ember,
Remember, keep on (burning, keep on burning) burning.
Yeah, (you gotta) keep on burning (burning),
Ooh, keep on burning.
Keep on, keep on, keep burning, babe,
Ah (you gotta keep on burning, burning) keep on burning (burning),
Baby (yeah) you gotta keep on burning, burning.
Keep on burning,
Keep ...

As I sense the here and now,

I can’t help but marvel how

This moment rose like an ember,

Once extinguished, few remember.

Though the warmth from its glow

Lives here and now if we know

That in this life all-to-fast

We must sense embers while they last.

Yea, the Roses Are Still on Fire

Yea, the roses are still on fire
With the bygone heat of July,
Though the least little wind drifting by
Shake a rose-leaf or two from the brier,
Be it never so soft a sigh.

Ember of love still glows and lingers
Deep at the red heart's smouldering core;
With the sudden passionate throb of yore
We shook as our eyes and clinging fingers
Met once only to meet no more.

Let The Games Begin

Stay right there
Don't care how you fare
You no longer hold the right
To be in our sight

You forget the little things
The pain your word brings
You ripped us apart
Your goal right from the start

One night to remember
One day it took to burn the ember
Of a heart so weak
The heart of a freak

Tell us about your conquest
And we'll show you the rest
Oh the words you forget
We'll make you regret

So welcome to our shame
Horrors only our hands tame
Let's show the world your hands stained red
What were those last sweet words you said?

See, we listen to what you say
My mind and I will play
Just like you did with our heart
Let the games start!
