To Love (Amanda)
Sweet tyrant Love,- but hear me now!
And cure while young this pleasing smart;
Or rather aid my trembling vow,
And teach me to reveal my heart.
Tell her, whose goodness is my bane,
Whose looks have smiled my peace away,
Oh! whisper how she gives me pain,
Whilst undesigning, frank, and gay.
'Tis not for common charms I sigh,
For what the vulgar beauty call;
'Tis not a cheek, a lip, an eye,
But 'tis the soul that lights them all!
For that I drop the tender tear,
For that I make this artless moan;
Oh! sigh it, Love! into her ear,
And make the bashful lover known.

Metal Beat
Nobody knew me so I bought some time.
An hour or two with a friend of mine.
Somebody lied so I burned their soul.
Somebody screamed and the fire burned cold.
I cure things, sweet young things.
I take the pain away.
I cure things, sweet young things.
I soothe the pain away.
I cure things, sweet young things.
I take the pain away.
I cure things, sweet young things.
Like someone walks on their grave.
I booked a small room in a cheap motel.
Somewhere to hide and a cure to sell.
I call it fashion, Ill make them bleed.
No one to love but a ghost to feed.
I was a puppet pulling my own strings.
I cant believe that I did such things.
I was a shadow but God forgives.
Now Im a priest and jesus lives.

I cure things, sweet young things.
I take the pain away.
I cure things, sweet young things.
I take the pain away.
I cure things, sweet young things.
I take the pain away.
I cure things, sweet young things.
Like someone walks on their grave.
How can I save you if you dont confess?
Kneel down bitch be truly blessed.

Sonnet XXXVIII: Oh Sigh
Oh Sigh! thou steal'st, the herald of the breast,
The lover's fears, the lover's pangs to tell;
Thou bid'st with timid grace the bosom swell,
Cheating the day of joy, the night of rest!
Oh! lucid Tears! with eloquence confest,
Why on my fading cheek unheeded dwell,
Meek, as the dew-drops on the flowret's bell
By ruthless tempests to the green-sod prest.
Fond sigh be hush'd! congeal, O! slighted tear!
Thy feeble pow'rs the busy Fates control!
Or if thy crystal streams again appear,
Let them, like Lethe's, oblivion roll:
For Love the tyrant plays, when hope is near,
And she who flies the lover, chains the soul!

Love
Whilst tracing thy visage I sink in emotion,
For no other damsel so wond'rous I see;
Thy looks are so pleasing, thy charms so amazing,
I think of no other, my true-love, but thee.
With heart-burning rapture I gaze on thy beauty,
And fly like a bird to the boughs of a tree;
Thy looks are so pleasing, thy charms so amazing,
I fancy no other, my true-love, but thee.
Thus oft in the valley I think, and I wonder
Why cannot a maid with her lover agree?
Thy looks are so pleasing, thy charms so amazing,
I pine for no other, my true-love, but thee.
I'd fly from thy frowns with a heart full of sorrow--
Return, pretty damsel, and smile thou on me;
By every endeavor, I'll try thee forever,
And languish until I am fancied by thee.

[Chorus]
Its about the things you say to me in the a.m.
Its about the way you hold me in the a.m.
Something bout a sweet ron de vu in the a.m.
God, I like spendin time with you in the a.m.
[Verse 1]
Its about six and the sun is on its way up
I'm half asleep,
waiting for your touch to wake me up
i like the way you call me,
the way you whisper peace,
the things you reveal
God, i know you're real,
nothing like the way you make me feel
[Chorus]
[Verse 2]
I have to admit, this is the way to start the day
Captured in love,
Jesus, your love takes me away
I like the way you call me,
the way you whisper peace
the things you reveal
God, I know you're real
Nothing like the way you make me feel
[Chorus]
[Verse 3]
What you do to me
I just can't explain
(I just can't explain)
What it means to me
To hear you call my name

What a perfect way
For me to start the day
Captured in love,
Jesus, your love takes me away

Song #5
I would not feign a single sigh
Nor weep a single tear for thee:
The soul within these orbs burns dry;
A desert spreads where love should be.
I would not be a worm to crawl
A writhing suppliant in thy way;
For love is life, is heaven, and all
The beams of an immortal day.
For sighs are idle things and vain,
And tears for idiots vainly fall.
I would not kiss thy face again
Nor round thy shining slippers crawl.
Love is the honey, not the bee,
Nor would I turn its sweets to gall
For all the beauty found in thee,
Thy lily neck, rose cheek, and all.
I would not feign a single tale
Thy kindness or thy love to seek;
Nor sigh for Jenny of the Vale,
Her ruby smile or rosy cheek.
I would not have a pain to own
For those dark curls and those bright eyes
A frowning lip, a heart of stone,
False love and folly I despise.

Do you believe? ?
Look into your heart and tell me what you see.
Am I still on your mind; are you thinking of me?
Do you wake in the night and let out a sigh?
Do you whisper my name and wonder why;
I can't be there with you tonight?
With you in my arms, holding you tight?
Do you believe in the miracle of Love
Do you believe in you
Do you believe in Love
Do you believe it could happen to you
Take me in your arms, don't ever leave
With you in my arms, I'll make you believe!
I believe in Love, always and forever.
I believe in us, you and I together.
I can't believe Love is pain,
You have everything to lose and nothing to gain.
Tell me you believe and look into my eyes...
Do you believe... I'm not like the other guys?
Hold on tight, for I've given you my heart;
Heart and soul from the very start.
For your Love, I'll wait forever
With all my heart, I believe we'll be together.
Tell me you believe Love is bliss,
That you can believe in the magic of our first kiss.
Answer me one question, now, before I leave...
Tell me, Do You Believe?

To Hear Your Voice
To hear you voice, brings warmth
the soft tone and the sexy accent
the elegant sound of words together
make the heart pitter patter
your whisper brings goosebumps of love
from a father to hear you talk reminds me
of how your voice cares, like your beauty
to call and hear your voice brings joy of love
picturing you near and by my side
how comfort you voice makes me
to hear you sing is a angel from heaven
the laughter is joy of humor we make
the tears brings crackles to your sound
breaks my heart to it so.
saying I Love You returns your smiles
whisper to me how you feel
I need to hear the voice of love and joy
sweet voice of yours make the world turn

My Days Have Been So Wondrous Free
My days have been so wondrous free,
The little birds that fly
With careless ease from tree to tree,
Were but as bless'd as I.
Ask gliding waters, if a tear
Of mine increas'd their stream?
Or ask the flying gales, if e'er
I lent one sigh to them?
But now my former days retire,
And I'm by beauty caught;
The tender chains of sweet desire
Are fix'd upon my thought.
Ye nightingales, ye twisting pines!
Ye swains that haunt the grove!
Ye gentle echoes, breezy winds!
Ye close retreats of love!
With all of nature, all of art,
Assist the dear design;
Oh teach a young, unpractic'd heart
To make my Nancy mine!
The very thought of change I hate,
As much as of despair;
Nor ever covet to be great,
Unless it be for her.
'Tis true, the passion in my mind
Is mix'd with soft distress;
Yet while the fair I love is kind,
I cannot wish it less.

Could You, Would You
Could you, a-would you
Um, hold me in your arms
A-show me all your charms
Or make me sad or make-a me blue
Could you love me
Like I love you-ooo
Like I love you-ooo-ooo
Could you, a-would you
Um, a-squeeze a-hold me tight
A-love me all through the night
And never ever let me go
Could you love me
Like I love you so
Like I love you so, oh
Every time I see you walkin down my avenue
I say, hi, hi, hi, hi, hi, are you alright?
And you say, how do ya do?
Just like ya always do
And if I had ya in my arms tonight
Could you, a-would you,
Um hold, hold me oh so near
While I whisper in your ear
The sweet words you long to hear
Could you love me
Like I love you-ooo-ooo
Like I love you-ooo-ooo
Oh
(instrumental)
Could you, a-would you
Um ho-old me oh so near
While I whisper in your ear
The sweet words you long to hear
Could you love me
Like I love you-ooo-ooo
Like I love you-ooo-ooo
Jus-jus-jus-just just like I love you
Just just, just like I love you, baby

Just, just, just like I love you

Hidden Flame
I FEED a flame within, which so torments me
That it both pains my heart, and yet contents me:
'Tis such a pleasing smart, and I so love it,
That I had rather die than once remove it.
Yet he, for whom I grieve, shall never know it;
My tongue does not betray, nor my eyes show it.
Not a sigh, nor a tear, my pain discloses,
But they fall silently, like dew on roses.
Thus, to prevent my Love from being cruel,
My heart 's the sacrifice, as 'tis the fuel;
And while I suffer this to give him quiet,
My faith rewards my love, though he deny it.
On his eyes will I gaze, and there delight me;
While I conceal my love no frown can fright me.
To be more happy I dare not aspire,
Nor can I fall more low, mounting no higher.

Romance
To clasp you now and feel your head close-pressed,
Scented and warm against my beating breast;
To whisper soft and quivering your name,
And drink the passion burning in your frame;
To lie at full length, taut, with cheek to cheek,
And tease your mouth with kisses till you speak
Love words, mad words, dream words, sweet senseless words,
Melodious like notes of mating birds;
To hear you ask if I shall love always,
And myself answer: Till the end of days;
To feel your easeful sigh of happiness
When on your trembling lips I murmur: Yes;
It is so sweet. We know it is not true.
What matters it? The night must shed her dew.
We know it is not true, but it is sweet --
The poem with this music is complete.

Bonie Jean: A Ballad
To its ain tune.
There was a lass, and she was fair,
At kirk or market to be seen;
When a’ our fairest maids were met,
The fairest maid was bonie Jean.
And aye she wrought her mammie’s wark,
And aye she sang sae merrilie;
The blythest bird upon the bush
Had ne’er a lighter heart than she.
But hawks will rob the tender joys
That bless the little lintwhite’s nest;
And frost will blight the fairest flowers,
And love will break the soundest rest.
Young Robie was the brawest lad,
The flower and pride of a’ the glen;
And he had owsen, sheep, and kye,
And wanton naigies nine or ten.
He gaed wi’ Jeanie to the tryste,
He danc’d wi’ Jeanie on the down;
And, lang ere witless Jeanie wist,
Her heart was tint, her peace was stown!
As in the bosom of the stream,
The moon-beam dwells at dewy e’en;
So trembling, pure, was tender love
Within the breast of bonie Jean.
And now she works her mammie’s wark,
And aye she sighs wi’ care and pain;
Yet wist na what her ail might be,
Or what wad make her weel again.
But did na Jeanie’s heart loup light,
And didna joy blink in her e’e,
As Robie tauld a tale o’ love
Ae e’ening on the lily lea?
The sun was sinking in the west,
The birds sang sweet in ilka grove;
His cheek to hers he fondly laid,
And whisper’d thus his tale o’ love:
“O Jeanie fair, I lo’e thee dear;
O canst thou think to fancy me,
Or wilt thou leave thy mammie’s cot,
And learn to tent the farms wi’ me?
“At barn or byre thou shalt na drudge,
Or naething else to trouble thee;
But stray amang the heather-bells,
And tent the waving corn wi’ me.”
Now what could artless Jeanie do?
She had nae will to say him na:
At length she blush’d a sweet consent,
And love was aye between them twa.

Let Us Now Make Love
1970. officially unreleased.
Please, I beg you hear this humble voice
Please, pale orchid flower, music of my soul
Alone, upon the windswept way
Descends the nightingale
She swoops to soothe my aching brow
Let us now make love
Please, I beg you hear this humble voice
Please, my emerald goddess, wash away the wounds
Alone, the pilgrim thirsts and falls
The queen runs to his call
She stoops to soothe his aching brow
Let us now make love
Make love, make love
Let us, let us, let us make love (love, love)
Love, sweet heavenly love (love, love)
I promise you life will be good (love, love)
If you just stand down and try (love, love)
To be one with, so feel pride
Let us make love till the end of time
Now and forever
Please, I beg you hear this humble voice
Please, dear oyster shell reveal your hidden pearl
Alone, the deaf, the sick, the blind
Turn grimly for the knife
The prophet stoops to soothe their brow
Let us now make love
Make love, make love
Let us, let us, let us make love (love, love)
Sweet heavenly love (love, love)
I promise you life will be good (love, love)
If you just stand down and try (love, love)
To be one with, so feel pride
Let us make love till the end of time
Now and forever
Please, I beg you hear this humble voice
Come, lets walk the windy roads to find the truth
Revealed, each part has now been played
Your beauty will not fade
So cling to me, fulfill your vow
Let us now make love
(love, love)
Sweet heavenly love (love, love)
I promise you life will be good (love, love)
If you just stand down and try (love, love)
To be one with, so feel pride
Let us make love till the end of time
Now and forever
Let us now make love
Till the end of time

A Good-Bye
FAREWELL! How soon unmeasured distance rolls
Its leaden clouds between our parted souls!
How little to each other now are we--
And once how much I dreamed we two might be!
I, who now stand with eyes undimmed and dry
To say good-bye--
To say good-bye to all sweet memories,
Good-bye to tender questions, soft replies;
Good bye to hope, good-bye to dreaming too,
Good-bye to all things dear--good-bye to you,
Without a kiss, a tear, a prayer, a sigh--
Our last good-bye.
I had no chain to bind you with at all;
No grace to charm, no beauty to enthral;
No power to hold your eyes with mine, and make
Your heart on fire with longing for my sake,
Till all the yearning passed into one cry:
'Love, not good-bye!'
Ah, no--I had no strength like that, you know;
Yet my worst weakness was to love you so!
So much too well--so much too well--or ill--
Yet even that might have been pardoned still--
It would have been had I been you--you I!
But now--good-bye!
How soon the bitter follows on the sweet!
Could I not chain your fancy's flying feet?
Could I not hold your soul--to make you play
To-morrow in the key of yesterday--?
Dear--do you dream that I would stoop to try?
Ah, no--Good-bye!

The Nature Of Love
What, pray tell's the nature of love?
Its myriad forms of grace?
Could it be less than God above,
Compressed to just one face?
One human soul adorned with flesh
That turns all heads nearby?
While like a trap meant to enmesh,
It's gentle as a sigh...
Beyond attraction's courtship spell,
Appreciation's there...
Accepting beauty not from Hell
But Heaven-sent with care...
Yet with great beauty duty comes!
Be wise and honour-bound!
Else beauty beckons then it numbs
And sorrows saunter round!
Those blessed with eyes that see this realm
Where earthly treasures bide,
Must not let beauty overwhelm
The soul that lives inside!
Forbid it, Lord, that love should take
Your place within our hearts!
That place reserved for goodness sake,
For love's more than its parts!
True love excels our wildest dreams,
Our fervent wishes, too...
Expressed in Jesus Christ, it seems,
Most pleasing unto You.
Teach us, o Lord, the finer things -
With blessings new and old!
No man on Earth needs angels' wings,
Just love as good as gold!

Sweet Love
Baby I want your body close, you on top of me, can you feel it
Im gonna make your body drip all over me,baby me inside of you
So take off all your clothes and throw them on the floor
You wont need them
Cuz I wanna give you every little thing you need and more
Let me tell you what you wanna do
I wanna make love , sweet love , all night long to the rising of the sun
Hold your body close to mine it feels so right , dont let go of me
I wanna make love , sweet love, all night long to the rising of the sun
Hold your body close to mine it feels so right dont let go of me
Baby I can give to you any way you like it
You just let me know
Im giving you the key so you can ride me fast or slow
Cuz on this ride of love , were gonna go
To places you and I aint never been before
Baby imagine me kissing all over you
Your bodys trembling, I know youre feeling me
Ooh I know its getting serious
And Im tired of being curious
Cuz my body is filled with lust
Cant take it no more bet you whisper ooooh
I wanna make love , sweet love , all night long to the rising of the sun
Hold your body close to mine it feels so right , dont let go of me
I wanna make love , sweet love, all night long to the rising of the sun
Hold your body close to mine it feels so right dont let go of me
I wanna make love , sweet love , all night long to the rising of the sun
Hold your body close to mine it feels so right , dont let go of me
I wanna make love , sweet love, all night long to the rising of the sun
Hold your body close to mine it feels so right dont let go of me
Girl the chemistry between us, I cant explain
I love to hear call my name
I can see it in your eyes that you want me too
Dont you be afraid of what Im bout to give to you
Girl the tears you cry are out of happiness
Pleasure instead of loneliness
Baby every single part of me inside of you
Pleasing you , pleasing you, make you scream louder
I wanna make love , sweet love , all night long to the rising of the sun
Hold your body close to mine it feels so right , dont let go of me
I wanna make love , sweet love, all night long to the rising of the sun
Hold your body close to mine it feels so right dont let go of me

True Friendship
Friendship, thou balm for ev'ry ill,
I must aspire to thee;
Whose breezes bid the heart be still,
And render sweet the patient's pill,
And set the pris'ner free.
Friendship, it is the softest soul
Which feels another's pain;
And must with equal sighs condole,
While sympathetic streamlets roll,
Which nothing can restrain.
Not to be nominated smart,
Of mortals to be seen,
She does not thus her gifts impart,
Her aid is from a feeling heart,
A principle within.
When the lone stranger, forced to roam,
Comes shiv'ring to her door,
At once he finds a welcome home,
The torch of grace dispels his gloom,
And bids him grope no more.
Friendship was never known to fail
The voice of need to hear,
When ruthless ills our peace assail,
When from our hearts she draws the veil,
And drys the falling tear.
When dogs and devils snarl and fight,
She hides and dwells alone;
When friends and kindred disunite,
With pity she surveys the right,
And gives to each his own.
Friendship has not a sister grace
Her wonders to exceed;
She is the queen of all her race,
Whose charms the stoutest must embrace
When in the vale of need.
Friendship is but the feeling sigh,
The sympathizing tear,
Constrain'd to flow till others dry,
Nor lets the needy soul pass by,
Nor scorns to see or hear.

To Sensibility
In SENSIBILITY'S lov'd praise
I tune my trembling reed,
And seek to deck her shrine with bays,
On which my heart must bleed!
No cold exemption from her pain
I ever wish to know;
Cheer'd with her transport, I sustain
Without complaint her woe.
Above whate'er content can give,
Above the charm of ease,
The restless hopes and fears, that live
With her, have power to please.
Where, but for her, were Friendship's power
To heal the wounded heart,
To shorten sorrow's ling'ring hour,
And bid its gloom depart?
'Tis she that lights the melting eye
With looks to anguish dear;
She knows the price of every sigh,
The value of a tear.
She prompts the tender marks of love
Which words can scarce express;
The heart alone their force can prove,
And feel how much they bless.
Of every finer bliss the source!
'Tis she on love bestows
The softer grace, the boundless force,
Confiding passion knows;
When to another, the fond breast
Each thought for ever gives;
When on another leans for rest,
And in another lives!
Quick, as the trembling metal flies
When heat or cold impels,
Her anxious heart to joy can rise,
Or sink where anguish dwells!
Yet though her soul must griefs sustain
Which she alone can know,
And feel that keener sense of pain
Which sharpens every woe;
Though she, the mourners' grief to calm,
Still shares each pang they feel,
And, like the tree distilling balm,
Bleeds others' wounds to heal;
Though she, whose bosom, fondly true,
Has never wish'd to range,
One alter'd look will trembling view,
And scarce can bear the change;
Though she, if death the bands should tear
She vainly thought secure,
Through life must languish in despair,
That never hopes a cure;
Though wounded by some vulgar mind,
Unconscious of the deed,
Who never seeks those wounds to bind,
But wonders why they bleed;--
She oft will heave a secret sigh,
Will shed a lonely tear,
O'er feelings nature wrought so high,
And gave on terms so dear.
Yet who would hard INDIFFERENCE choose,
Whose breast no tears can steep?
Who, for her apathy, would lose
The sacred power to weep?
Though in a thousand objects pain
And pleasure tremble nigh,
Those objects strive to reach in vain
The circle of her eye.
Cold as the fabled god appears
To the poor suppliant's grief,
Who bathes the marble form in tears,
And vainly hopes relief.
Ah, GREVILLE ! why the gifts refuse
To souls like thine allied?
No more thy nature seem to lose,
No more thy softness hide.
No more invoke the playful sprite
To chill, with magic spell,
The tender feelings of delight,
And anguish sung so well;
That envied case thy heart would prove
Were sure too dearly bought
With friendship, sympathy, and love,
And every finer thought.

Enthralled
Teach me to sin—
In love’s forbidden ways,
For you can make all passion pure;
The magic lure of your sweet eyes
Each shape of sin makes virtue praise.
Teach me to sin—
Enslave me to your wanton charms,
Crush me in your velvet arms
And make me, make me love you.
Make me fire your blood with new desire,
And make me kiss you—lip and limb,
Till senses reel and pulses swim.
Aye! even if you hate me,
Teach me to sin.
