A Concert-Impromptu
The following impromptu was delivered in the Methodist Church Concert, March, 1883.
It was expected that several announced in bills world take part, but from various
causes they were not present. We were unexpectedly requested to fill one of the
vacencies. Doctor Gardiner delivered an address, showing how he had triumphed o'er
the great snow drifts during the remarkably severe winter then passing away, that we
thought his courage and perseverance was worthy of being commemorated in verse; and
the music of the White Brothers though simple, is natural, touching and sweet, and
reaches the heart more easily than some of the highly artistic styles now in vogue,
on arising, we first gave some recitations from the Poets and concluded with the
following Impromptu. It was of course impossible for me to have anticipated any of
the above occurrences, as the Doctors speech took the turn it did from the remarks
of a previous speaker.

Lines on Corner Stone
Impromptu lines delivered at the laying of the corner store
of the church on Culloden road, with Masonic honors.
In this quiet spot, this day of June,
Which will not be forgotten soon,
For when your little church on hill
You overflowingly did fill,
You then resolved there should arise
Church worthy of your enterprise.
You've laid foundation broad and deep,
And showers of blessing may you reap.
Craft of King Hiram and St. John
Have come to lay the corner stone,
At the call of our Grand Master, *
Who, was invited by your pastor.
With Silver trowel all so fair
He laid foundation on the square.
May you be blessed with christian love,
And we all meet in Lodge above.

The Shot
[phones ringing, babies crying]
White guy: hi how ya doin ?
Nurse: doctors office, could you hold please? yes sir can I help you?
White guy: yes I have a four oclock appointment, Im here to get my shot.
Nurse: okay, come right with me.
White guy: this isnt gonna take too long is it?
Nurse: here we are, here have a seat right here.
White guy: oh great, thanks, thanks.
Nurse: the doctor will be right with you, and can I get you anything?
White guy: uhh maybe a glass of water would be great.
Nurse: okay great.
[door shuts]
White guy: damn, what is taking so long?
[door creaks open, funky music in the backround]
Doctor ice cube: yo wussup?
White guy: hi how ya doin ?
Doctor ice cube: alright, lets see what we got here uhh, mr. white huh?
White guy: yes sir thats me.
Doctor ice cube: heh, I heard you dont like shots do ya?
White guy: no I sure dont.
Doctor ice cube: aww youre a big boy uhh this wont hurt a bit,
Jus uhh turn your head...
White guy: lets get this over with.
Doctor ice cube: yeah uhh, rub a little alcohol on there, right here,
For you, and uhh brace yourself!

I Know Not What Course Others May Take!
Is life so dear?
Or peace so sweet!
As to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery?
Forbid it, Almighty God!
I know not what course others may take!
But as for me...

That statement is part of Patrick Henry's famous

How Do You Maintain Such a Meticulous Appearance?
Yes sir...
I will keep this brief.
In your most recent press conference,
Prior to this one.
You had stated a correction made,
To the previous BS you fed us.
Are we now to understand,
That the current BS reflects...
A more concised effort,
For immediate implementation?
Or are we to wait for an appropriate effectiveness,
To be delivered.
And will that expected corrected BS,
Satisfy as promised and expected?
'Good question!
Let me be perfectly clear about this!
Any BS delivered by this administration,
Will be the best BS we can orchestrate.
And...
Don't confuse this with just ordinary BS.
Consider this BS we are working on...
To benefit like no BS has in the past!

God Is The Entity
I don't live my life on a discounted escapade.
Every bill delivered to my address...
Has just my name on it.
And they all get paid.
Because I've arrived at an age,
It is expected I get assistance.
And whatever I get I like to think I'm deserving.
Since I've never lived with a selfishness.
And most of my life I've been in service to others.
And to others I have served.
Very few times I've accepted hand outs given to me.
Especially knowing how easy it is for others to speak falsities.
About what they do in quantity...
And neither quantity nor quality from them do I receive.
God is The 'Entity' that has blessed my life tremendously.
Of this I have witnessed with no pretensions to exist.
And those who have come to go out of my life...
From me they knew as one to give,
And any taking was done was in respected appreciation.
I don't live my life on a discounted escapade.

And if anyone has ever thought,
My life has been one of a free ride?
Not one of them has a clue,

Sweet Jane
Standin' on the corner, suit case in my hand, Jack is in his coat, Jane is in her vest, and, me, I'm in a rock 'n' roll band. Riding in a Stutz-Bearcat, Jim. Ya know, those were different times. The poets, they studied rules of verse, and the ladies, they rolled their eyes.Sweet Jane! Sweet Jane! Sweet Jane!
Now, Jack, he is a banker, and Jane, she is a clerk. Both of them save their monies, when they come home from work. Sittin' down there by the fire, the radio does play. The classic music is, "The March of Wooden Soldiers", and you can heard Jack say, Sweet Jane, Sweet Jane, Sweet Jane.
Some people like to go out dancin'. Now other people they go to work. There's even some evil mothers, they'll tell you life's just made out of dirt.That women, they never really faint, and villains always blink their eyes.That childeren are the only ones who blush, and life is just to die. Music Lost and Found Again
Music is a part of me
Music is my soul

Then I hurt my wrist so bad
That I could not talk
The pain was so severe
I thought all was lost
I had to stop making music because of the pain
I started to lose hope of ever playing again
I started to cry
I felt like I was losing part of my life
But a light shown in the darkness of night
Hope aroused to help me fight
A doctor in a white coat
Showed me how to cope
With his help, I am treating the pain
The pain in my wrist is slowing going a way
I stopped crying a short time ago
For now I have the tiniest of hope
I may be able to make music again
If the pain keeps going away
Now I do not feel like I’ll shatter like glass
If not I will kick the doctor in the ass.
