Walcheren Expedition

Ye brave, enduring Englishmen,
Who dash through fire and flood,
And spend with equal thoughtlessness
Your money and your blood,
I sing of that black season,
Which all true hearts deplore,
When ye lay,
Night and day,
Upon Walcheren's swampy shore.

'Twas in the summer's sunshine
Your mighty host set sail,
With valour in each longing heart
And vigour in the gale;
The Frenchman dropp'd his laughter,
The Fleming's thoughts grew sore,
As ye came
In your fame
To the dark and swampy shore.

But foul delays encompass'd ye
More dang'rous than the foe,
As Antwerp's town and its guarded fleet
Too well for Britons know;
One spot alone ye conquer'd
With hosts unknown of yore;
And your might
Day and night,
Lay still on the swampy shore.

In vain your dauntless mariners
Mourn'd ev'ry moment lost,
In vain your soldiers threw their eyes
In flame to the hostile coast;
The fire of gallant aspects
Was doom'd to be no more,
And your fame
Sunk with shame
In the dark and the swampy shore.

Ye died not in the triumphing
Of the battle-shaken flood,
Ye died not on the charging field
In the mingle of brave blood;
But 'twas in wasting fevers
Full three months and more,
Britons born,
Pierc'd with scorn,
Lay at rot on the swampy shore.

No ship came o'er to bring relief,
No orders came to save;
But DEATH stood there and never stirr'd,
Still counting for the grave.
They lay down, and they linger'd,
And died with feelings sore,
And the waves
Pierc'd their graves
Thro' the dark and the swampy shore.

Oh England! Oh my Countrymen!
Ye ne'er shall thrive again,
Till freed from Councils obstinate
Of mercenary men.
So toll for the six thousand
Whose miseries are o'er,
Where the deep,
To their sleep,
Bemoans on the swampy shore.

Drifting Too Far

Out on the perilous deep,
Where danger silently creeps,
And storm's so violently sweeping,
You're drifting too far from shore.
Chorus:
Drifting too far from shore,
You're drifting too far from shore,
Come to Jesus today,
Let Him show you the way
You're drifting too far from shore.
Today, the Tempest rose high,
And clouds o'er shadow the sky.
Sure death is hovering neigh,
You're drifting too far from shore.
Drifting too far from shore,
You're drifting too far from shore,
Come to Jesus today,
Let Him show you the way
You're drifting too far from shore.
Why meet a terrible fate?
Mercies abundantly wait.
Turn back before it's too late
You're drifting too far from shore.
Drifting too far from shore
You're drifting too far from shore (peaceful shore)
Come to Jesus today. Let him show you the way
You're drifting too far from shore...

Accepting The Possibities

I won't stop.
A heart as solid as a rock.
Heading to the top of the bluff.

Just one glimpse of you.
Just whisper of name is enough to drive me insane.
Any man would feel the same.
Only if they knew you the way I do.

I won't stop.
A heart as solid as a rock.
Heading to the top of the bluff.

I got my bruises and scars.
I've been through the marshes of pain.
A swampy mess that at times seems as if though it doesn't want to let go.
But I know, I know.

I have a picture of my snow white hidden in my very own special place in a very special birthday frame.
It was one of kind it was giving to me as anniversary present.
The moments I can never forget.

I'm chasing a ghost.
The daily drive through Selinsgrove.
That could be you become my thoughts of the icy cold.
Fearing the worse.
A mind that goes to the perverse.
A sickening feeling in the stomach.
What really happen?
Where are you?
Why did you disappear?
Was it something I did?
A aching that will never leave me.
You were and always will be my first.

I won't stop.
A heart as solid as a rock.
Heading to the top of the bluff.

Just one glimpse of you.
Just whisper of your name is enough to drive me insane.

Secrets go to the sky sometimes before you die.
Thoughts of the afterlife.
Is their angel looking down me?
Protecting thou brave knight.
Even as the wicked plunders with a knife.
No justice has ever reached my eyes.
Not in a crime I can't prove has been committed.

Sometimes they are no goodbyes.
A missing conclusion to a story that hounds me every night.
Oh how do I get this right?
Light the fire.
Perform the ritual.
Speak to the dead.
Reaching beyond the limits of this reality.
An emptiness that has become a fatality.

I won't stop.
A heart as solid as a rock.
Heading to the top of the bluff.

Just one glimpse of you.
Just whisper of your name is enough to drive me insane.

I won't stop.
A heart as solid as a rock.
Heading to the top of the bluff.

Just one glimpse of you.
Just whisper of your name is enough to drive me insane.
Any man would feel the same.
Only if they knew you the way I do.

I won't stop.
A heart as solid as a rock.
Heading to the top of the bluff.

I won't stop.
I won't stop.
I won't stop.
Because these thoughts will never be enough.

The Maranoa Drovers

The night is dark and stormy, and the sky is clouded o'er;
Our horses we will mount and ride away,
To watch the squatters' cattle through the darkness of the night,
And we'll keep them on the camp till break of day.

For we're going, going, going to Gunnedah so far,
And we'll soon be into sunny New South Wales;
We shall bid farewell to Queensland, with its swampy coolibah
Happy drovers from the sandy Maranoa.

When the fires are burning bright through the darkness of the night,
And the cattle camping quiet, well, I'm sure
That I wish for two o'clock when I call the other watch
This is droving from the sandy Maranoa.

Our beds made on the ground, we are sleeping all so sound
When we're wakened by the distant thunder's roar,
And the lightning's vivid flash, followed by an awful crash
It's rough on drovers from the sandy Maranoa.
We are up at break of day, and we're all soon on the way,
For we always have to go ten miles or more;
It don't do to loaf about, or the squatter will come out
He's strict on drovers from the sandy Maranoa.

We shall soon be on the Moonie, and we'll cross the Barwon, too;
Then we'll be out upon the rolling plains once more;
We'll shout "Hurrah! for old Queensland, with its swampy coolibah,
And the cattle that come off the Maranoa."

Driftin Too Far From Shore

I didnt know that youd be leavin
Or who you thought you were talkin to.
I figure maybe were even
Or maybe Im one up on you.
I send you all my money
Just like I did before.
I tried to reach you honey,
But youre driftin too far from shore.
Driftin too far from shore
Driftin too far from shore
Driftin too far from shore
Driftin too far from shore
I aint gonna get lost in this current,
I dont like playing cat and mouse.
No gentleman likes making love to a servant.
Especially when hes in his fathers house.
I never could guess your weight, baby,
Never needed to call you my whore.
I always thought you were straight, baby,
But youre driftin too far from shore.
Driftin too far from shore
Driftin too far from shore
Driftin too far from shore
Driftin too far from shore
Well these times and these tunnels are haunted,
The bottom of the barrel is too.
I waited years sometimes for what I wanted.
Everybody cant be as lucky as you.
Never no more do I wonder,
Why you dont never play with me any more.
At any moment you could go under,
cause youre driftin too far from shore.
Driftin too far from shore
Driftin too far from shore
Driftin too far from shore
Driftin too far from shore
You and me we had completeness,
I give you all of what I could provide
We werent on the wrong side, sweetness,
We were the wrong side.
Ive already ripped out the phones, honey.
You cant walk the streets in a war.
I can finish this alone, honey,
Youre driftin too far from shore.

O alone man on shore of river;

O alone man on shore of river;
behold thy beauty, in the way she wants to,
embrace thy dazzled eyes in yours poetic words
and run,

Night is yet to be youth; sit and sing for her,
River, Night, Moon, Dawn,
all would be here tomorrow,

O alone man on shore of river;
but she might not be!

Her village is not so far; either run or
sail in darkness of night to realize warmth of her company

O alone man on shore of river;
only do not behold thy beauty rather
feel herself in your Soul

O alone man on shore of river.

I Lay Down By The Shore Of Where I Am

I LAY DOWN BY THE SHORE OF WHERE I AM

I lay down by the shore of where I am-
The heavy long waters have already gone by-
Night is coming,
And night may be dark for a long time-

I will not lay down for long
I will rest
And then I will begin again-
Another sea another shore another world-
Who knows how vast the Beyond is
And whether if real it goes on forever?

I have rested enough-
Let the waters roll
I am on my way to another universe
All of you I have loved, Goodbye for now
Let us meet again somewhere else we cannot begin to see now-
Love rolls through all the Universes and it will take us too to another shore and a new paradise.

But No More

The time is now or never
The crashing is coming near
The delphi is on the corner
And he whispers in your ear
It used to be men could be solemn even while laughing
And laughter could be heard shore to shore
But no more
Now all you hear is crying
Cause no one's on the phone
Your feet are just now freezing over
You know that you are here all alone
It used to be men could be solemn even while laughing
And laughter could be heard shore to shore
But no more
When I think of friends and places
Things we wanted, hoped we'd be
All that's left is fading traces
Memories of what use to be
Hear their laughter, see their shadows
Feel the darkness, see the light
We had lit all but lost so quickly
We think we won but we lost the fight
But it's all the same to me
I've seen all I want to see
First they laugh at you
Then they cry
Say they'll always be there
Then they die
So alone yet so alive
It used to be men could be solemn even while laughing
And laughter could be heard shore to shore
But no more

On The Banks of The Shore

have i wandered too far this time
to feel the presence of Your hand
i cant say that i've been blind
building castles in the sand

seems kinda funny for me to say
words i've said before
feeling's too heavy for me to pray
on the banks of the shore

on the banks of the shore
at the foot of the cross
my heart's aching and sore
and my soul's feeling lost...

could You spare an angel or two
put a rainbow in the sky
just to let me know that You
care if i live or die

maybe i'll get it right this time
find the key to the door
just need some peace of mind
on the banks of the shore

on the banks of the shore
at the foot of the cross
my heart's aching and sore
and my soul's feeling lost

on the banks of the shore
at the foot of the cross
my heart's aching and sore
and my soul's feeling lost....

Night Of the Sea Shore

My above is a vast dark blue sky
It is full of diamond like shining twinkling stars.
The light of the moonlit the whole sea shore
And in front of me
It is the beautiful deep blue sea.
The waves are like children who are playing
In a vast ground made of water.
The beautiful sound of the tide
In the quiet sea shore
The slight and sweet breeze, which is blowing quietly.
These are the things which happens in a night
Near a quiet sea shore..

For music

ALONG the shore, along the shore
I see the wavelets meeting:
But thee I see--ah, never more,
For all my wild heart's beating.
The little wavelets come and go,
The tide of life ebbs to and fro,
Advancing and retreating:
But from the shore, the steadfast shore,
The sea is parted never:
And mine I hold thee evermore,
Forever and forever.

Along the shore, along the shore
I hear the waves resounding,
But thou wilt cross them nevermore
For all my wild heart's bounding:
The moon comes out above the tide
And quiets all the billows wide
Her pathway bright surrounding:
Thus on the shore, the dreary shore,
I walk with weak endeavor:
I have thy love's light evermore,
Forever and forever.

The Man Parts the Water

The man parts the water with a simple stone,
turning when the laughter
of a child retraces the shattered waves.
The man remembers with a smile
the days when he walked the shore,
dancing with silver-eyed seagulls, and he

was always looking ahead as he
stands and tilts releasing stone,
watching it sail through the misty shore.
The child parts the water with shrieking laughter,
and dreams about the day he will knowingly smile
as his cocked man-hand reaches the stormy waves.

Watching the moon pull the scornful waves
that kick the sand onto the shore, now he’s
the ghost of a child that stands with a smile.
He parts the water with a simple stone,
listening to the moon’s blue shaken laughter
at a man awaiting his golden hour upon the murky shore.

The grains whisper into the wind. And the shore
is crowded with memories of waves,
filling a young boy’s face with laughter.
It permeates the darkness, yet he
still craves the stone
to bring the man’s euphoric smile.

Caught in a moment without laughter or smiles,
walking along the shore
he wishes upon a simple stone
for another chance to play and frolic in waves.
The child sees his reflection with an anxious smile, and he
becomes a man between the laughter.

And he will always remember the laughter,
and he will always long for an innocent smile
of waiting for the day that unknowingly he
could never return to the shore.
Churning as it breaks the waves,
the past is left in simple stone.

But for now there is laughter upon the shore,
riding along the whispering waves,
the child’s future still a simple stone.

The Ocean

1969 live version
--------------------------------------------
Here comes the ocean
And the waves down by the shore
Here comes the ocean
And the waves down by the sea
Earth is a hollow hair bought of a bigger head
It nearly drives me crazy
I am a lazy son
I never get things down
...(unknown)
But here comes the waves
Down by the shore
Washing the eye of the land
That has been down by the sea
Down by the sea
Down by the sea
Down by the sea
Here comes the ocean and the waves
Down by the shore
Here comes the ocean and the waves
Down by the sea
(incense or in sex or insects) for evil thoughts, thought of by selfish men
It nearly drives me crazy
I am a lazy son
I never get things done
...(unknown)
Here comes the waves down by the shore
Washing the eye of the land that has been down by the sea
Down by the sea
Here come the waves
Here come the waves
Here come the waves
Peel slowly and see version
---------------------------------------------
Here comes the ocean
And the waves
Down by the sea
Here comes the ocean
And the waves
Where have they been?
Silver and black with night
Heres to a summers night
An empty splendid castle
Glowering alone at night
The princess has had a fright
Madness seeks out the lover
And here come the waves down by the shore
Washing the soul of the body
That comes from the depths of the sea
Here comes the ocean
And the waves down by the sea
Here comes the ocean
And the waves, where have they been
Dont swim tonight my love
The tide is out my love
Malcoms curse haunts our family
Oh yes, loud in which, ruler of filthy seas, revelling heavans justice
And here come the waves
And save for a scream
Theres much like a song
To be heard, in the wind, that blows by the sea.
Like the wind
Here come the waves,
Here come the waves,
Here come the waves

Men, the waves

The sea waves meet the shore.
The waves ebb; the shore stays ashore.
He, the wave, meets her, the shore.
The waves carry the carcass of the tryst.
The shore buries the debris of the tryst.
Man sticks to the past, woman to the future.

Portrait of a Lady

Your thighs are appletrees
whose blossoms touch the sky.
Which sky? The sky
where Watteau hung a lady's
slipper. Your knees
are a southern breeze -- or
a gust of snow. Agh! what
sort of man was Fragonard?
-- As if that answered
anything. -- Ah, yes. Below
the knees, since the tune
drops that way, it is
one of those white summer days,
the tall grass of your ankles
flickers upon the shore --
Which shore? --
the sand clings to my lips --
Which shore?
Agh, petals maybe. How
should I know?
Which shore? Which shore?
-- the petals from some hidden
appletree -- Which shore?
I said petals from an appletree.

In The Sweet By And By

There's a land that is fairer than day
And by faith we can see it afar
For the father waits over the way
To prepare us a dwelling place there
In the sweet by and by
We shall meet on that beautiful shore
In the sweet by and by
We shall meet on that beautiful shore
We shall sing on that beautiful shore
The melodious songs of the blest
And our spirit shall sorrow no more
Not a sign for the blessing of rest
In the sweet by and by
We shall meet on that beautiful shore
In the sweet by and by
We shall meet on that beautiful shore
In the sweet by and by
We shall meet on that beautiful shore
In the sweet by and by

Lines In Memory Of William Leggett

The earth may ring, from shore to shore,
With echoes of a glorious name,
But he, whose loss our tears deplore,
Has left behind him more than fame.

For when the death-frost came to lie
On Leggett's warm and mighty heart,
And quenched his bold and friendly eye,
His spirit did not all depart.

The words of fire that from his pen
Were flung upon the fervent page,
Still move, still shake the hearts of men,
Amid a cold and coward age.

His love of truth, too warm, too strong
For Hope or Fear to chain or chill,
His hate of tyranny and wrong,
Burn in the breasts he kindled still.

We're Coming! We're Coming!

We're coming, we're coming, the fearless and free,
Like the winds of the desert, the waves of the sea!
True sons of brave sires who battled of yore,
When England's proud lion ran wild on our shore!
We're coming, we're coming, from mountain and glen,
With hearts to do battle for freedom again;
Oppression is trembling as trembled before
The slavery which fled from our fathers of yore.

We're coming, we're coming, with banners unfurled,
Our motto is FREEDOM, our country the world;
Our watchword is LIBERTY-tyrants beware!
For the liberty army will bring you despair!
We're coming, we're coming, we'll come from afar,
Our standard we'll nail to humanity's car;
With shoutings we'll raise it, in triumph to wave,
A trophy of conquest, or shroud for the brave.

Then arouse ye, brave hearts, to the rescue come on!
The man-stealing army we'll surely put down;
They are crushing their millions, but soon they must yield,
For
freemen
have
risen
and taken the field.
Then arouse ye! arouse ye! the fearless and free,
Like the winds of the desert, the waves of the sea;
Let the north, west, and east, to the sea-beaten shore,

Resound
with a
liberty triumph
once more.

When my body arrives at the shore

When the time comes.
And my body washes up on the shore.
Be it not a shock to you please.
I didn't want tohurt you.

When my bloated body arrives at deaths shore.
Washed up and battered I'm dead on the shore.
And have arrived at deaths door.

Yes I was scared kind of.
But I knew it would over and done.
I knew it wouldn't be long to die.

Here lays my body at deaths shore.
I am dead of that you can be sure.
I am sorry of that you are to be sure.
I loved you that's for sure.

I could'nt stay with pains shore.
So Here I am at deaths shore.
I couldn't go on like this.

Here I lay washed up on the shore.
Iam now in deaths door
