Oblivious
Day after long dreadful day,
I come home and quietly
put on my mask
so they don't worry.
I have a fake smile
plastered on my face,
and yet they don't even
notice a difference from a real and a fake.
I tell them my day was
fairly good.... each day!
Maybe tell them I
was a little bored.
I cover up my body,
act like everything is fine.
They don't suspect a
single thing is wrong with me.
They can't see anything.
They can't see that underneath
my smile, I am screaming
for them to notice!
They can't see that underneath
my mask, I am crying.
They can't see the agony and
sorrow in my eyes.
They can't see that underneath
everything, I am bruised, cut,
and shattered to pieces.
Blood is everywhere!
They can't see that I
hide my true self from them.
They think my mask is truly me,
they don't know anything.
Late at night and on my own,
I don't have to hide.
I don't have to wear my mask
or fake smile or clothes.
I scream and cry out to the night,
blood oozing out of me,
the pieces of my heart
scatter on the floor.
No one hears my cries,
No one sees my tears.
No one can see how hurt
I have been.
And now here I go,
back down this road again.
Spiraling down further
into the darkness.
Depression is taking hold,
this time it's stronger
and even more resilient.
I don't think I will escape this time.
This darkness creeps all
around me, consuming all that is good.
Replacing the good things
with five more bad things.
It takes hold of me,
reaches inside of me
and takes out my heart.
Takes my soul out.
Then on to another
victim, leaves me,
a corpse with nothing left inside;
just a shell.
The night closes in fast.
And I prepare for the worst.
This time no one will
be there to save me.
They don't even know
that I'm already gone.
They only see what
they want to see, and it's not me...

Good Bye
The morning after we said our final good bye
What I remember is a single tear from your eye
Today it hit me that I can't call you anymore
To tell you how my day was and it's you I adore
Please know that when you left you took pieces of me
And my life will never be the same I guarantee
I had to leave you - because it's me I had to save
I know I acted like a coward and I am not very brave
Please understand that I love you more than anybody ever will
But I'm too afraid that things one day go downhill
I want to remember you just the way we were before
And not face what the future has for us in store
My love for you is so consuming and almost unreal
And I know that for me only you are the real deal
But I can't face the possibility of you leaving me one day
So I had to leave first and be gone and far away
In my heart I will keep my love for you going strong
And no one will ever know that I keep you with me - lifelong
Today I want to stay right here in my bed and think of you
Once more envision our love and think of your point of view
Right now I will cry and loose all my tears over night
And tomorrow I will smile to the world and act all right
Because of you I'll have to wear a mask for the rest of my life
I wish that I would be stronger and become your wife
No other man will ever know or even assume
That I abandoned true love right here in this room
The other guy will be happy with your left over and only a shell
For - I have already given my heart away and wished it farewell
He will never know of my dreams and my cries in the night
Because looking at him I will smile and put up a fight
So tonight please let me wail in pain and sorrow
Starting over without you with the new day tomorrow
I pray that you will move on - forget me and never call
Because hearing your voice would crumble my wall
I hope that I will never see you face to face ever again
Because if I will I would go back to where we were and go insane

Mask That Covers My Pain
I wear a mask,
A mask that covers my pain,
I wear a smile,
A smile to cover my frown,
Secretly I am sad,
No ones here to hold me,
No ones here to love me,
I have no one,
My mask covers the pain in my eyes,
My mask covers the pain in my face,
My mask covers the pain in my heart,
My mask covers the pain in me,
I am but alone,
I am but in pain,
I am the only one,
I put a mask on,
To cover my pain,

Shattering Mirrors
looking in the mirror its no longer me
just a broken lifeless shell is all i see
wearing the makeup and the right clothes
the fake smile, it all puts on a show
behind the mask lays scars and bruises
so much hurt tucked away, kept hidden
the brokenness that cuts painfully deep
i see the words you scornfully screamed
and how slicing in deep they do sink
they steal anything good that's left in me
within my reflection i despise every part
the mask claiming everything's alright
when inside everything is torn apart
looking in the mirror i see my struggles
how i try so hard to be so much better
your perfect mold i always try to please
to the point of dying just to be so thin
though never good enough i am again,
looking in this mirror i hate every piece
my eyes stare back always criticizing
revealing every ugly hidden memory
forcing a smile again to keep such an act
though i am tired of this masked charade
broken down, i am unsure of another day
shattering the mirror into many pieces
is this really me? i'm aching for clarity
looking into the mirror's broken shards
i see so clearly its perfectly reflecting
this shattered image of mine i truly see
and i wonder if forever broken i will be

The Mask
You wear a mask upon your face
So people wont know of your sin and disgrace
Or of the things that you have said and done
And of the life you have ended and then again begun.
You cover up your lines and all of your tears
So no one can see the worries and your fears
Or of the anger and the hate that's on your face
So upon your face a mask you did paste.
But I wonder if anyone really does know
The color of your cheeks or the shape of your nose
Or the saddened bags underneath your eyes
From the guilt you felt from the tears of your lies.
And when you meet people I wonder do they stare
Maybe they think to themselves, who is really behind there
But then you don't care what people might say or ask
As you can conceal all, when you wear your mask.
And so that mask you will wear till your dying days
As it will become you in so many very different ways
But one day in death your mask it will then be removed
Then man and all will stand in sadness, as they see the real you.

A Smile Is A Complicated Thing
A smile is a complicated thing, I'll tell you why,
Anyone can smile, as anyone should,
Yet still it can mask the deepest cuts, I know it's true,
It can deceive people into thinking one's okay, has it worked? ,
It can hide the tears that have dried upon ones face, can you see them?
A smile can show the world a little bit of light, if even just a glimmer,
It can take dark cracks in one's mind and disguise them, I wear a disguise,
It can put on a show for everyone to see, will you clap for me? ,
Yet a smile can also be true, I've had those too,
Offering nothing but joy and laughter, I remember those,
So before you pass off ones smile take a second to smile back, please smile at me,
Reassure them that they don't waste their smiles, are mine wasted? ,
Never judge a smile or ignore the eyes of the smiling, look in my eyes,
Look for hidden pains behind the mask, can you see? ,
Don't be deceived by the charade, listen to my silent story,
And before you pass by smile back, please smile back,
For your smile could be saying the same, do you know how I feel? ,
Everyone has reason to smile, are you smiling? ,
But a smile is a complicated things, I have told you why,
No one should smile alone, smile with me,
We all smile together for good and for bad, what's your story? ,
You're never alone, I am here,
A smile is a complicated thing, I have told you why.

~Smile~
We all smile to show our happiness,
We use it a lot, Yes,
Smile can be fake or real,
Its used to show or hide how we feel,
Fake smile is shown when,
Pain in heart rises,
And real smile is shown when,
Unexpected happiness doubles in sizes,
Natural or Not,
But its better to show a real one on the spot,
Let us be honest,
the only time we show the real smile is when someone has touched our heart,
and when we show the fake smile,
is when someone has tear everything apart,
Yes we show our fake smile,
to show people that we are okay so they wont revile,
Its hard to put on a real one as your hurt,
And yes we try to heal it as we flirt,
Its time to face the fact,
Showing a fake smile is like showing a fake and stupid act,
Put every pain to the side and smile for now,
not for someone,
But for everyone,
and show it as we are endowed.

I Wear A Smile
I wear a smile
that never reach my eyes.
I wear a smile
that feels misplaced.
I wear a smile
that is completely fake.
I wear a smile
to drown my sorrow.
I wear a smile
but i'm so numb.
One day this mask will break,
but then it will be too late.

Night Blues
Blue whinning guitars
Greet shimmering stars-
It's mercy the night brings
To forget the day, in the evening blues I sing-
Arise distant and dark moon
Open despairs tomb-
Melancholy, like water passes through me
I am the rough and windy sea-
The night's a gutter
Gathering and consuming each days clutter-
It's there alone in the dark
Things so easily come apart-
Drenched in the blues
While trying to muse-
Two lives I live
The night takes, what the life of day gives-
It's humanities eternal war...
Ravaged to the core-
Evil vs. good... and if you ever face it,
You'll be so misunderstood-
Everything is fine
If you're good... and blind-
But, if you want to know what's real and true
It's gonna cost you-
Maybe I can fake it in the light of day
Put on a mask... pretend it's all o.k.-
But the dark of night
Brings out the true blight-
Melancholy comes calling
When the lights start falling-
It's just the way it's going to be
These old night time blues and me-
So, I'll just let it go
Take a little mercy where I can,
Whatever grace it takes
To pass on through, this darkened land.

Skin of a serpent
How can you say that you love me?
When even I can´t love myself.
And how can I find peace in your words,
When all you see is my mask
The heart that beats underneath,
Will never be free.
You can like my act, I admit it´s good
But I can´t tell you to like me.
You may think you have caught me,
And all you are holding is the skin of a serpent.
This scaly body is just another way,
To hide the real me.
Please, I beg you...
Remove this mask of mine
Let my heart free
Dry the tears I have cried long ago,
And maybe, just maybe, I´d let you say:
I love you, and it would be ok.

The Right Mask
One night a poem came up to a poet
From now on, it said, you must wear a mask.
What kind of mask? asked the poet.
A rose mask, said the poem.
I've used it already, said the poet,
I've exhausted it.
Then wear the mask that's made out of
a nightingale's song, use that mask.
Oh, it's an old mask, said the poet,
it's all used up.
Nonsense, said the poem, it's the perfect mask,
still, try on the god mask,
now that mask illuminates heaven.
It's a tight mask, said the poet,
and the stars crawl about in it like ants.
Then try on the troubador's mask, or the singer's mask,
try on all the popular masks.
I have, said the poet, but they fit so easily.
The poem was getting impatient,
it stamped its feet like a child,
it screamed. Then try on your own face,
try the one mask that terrifies,
the mask only you could possibly use,
the mask only you could wear out.
The poet tore at his face til it bled,
this mask? he yelled, this mask?
Yes, said the poem, yes.
But the poet was tired of masks,
he had lived too long with them,
he snatched at the poem and stuck it in his face.
Its screams were muffled, it wept, it tried to be lyrical,
it wriggled into his eyes and mouth.
Next day his friends were afraid of him,
he looked so distorted.
Now it's the right mask, said the poem, the right mask.
It clung to him lovingly and never let go again.

My Fake Smile
I sit here with a smile on my face
I smile as I breath in deep
I smile as I close my eyes
And i smile all day long...
The sky is dark
as the freezing winds
Seep into my cheeks and bones,
I sit here smiling silently cold and empty
I wait here frozen in time,
With my dreams torn apart
My heart encased in a tomb
I smile to mask my true emotions
The mask wear is so perfect
One needs tocome alot closer
To see the tears trickling down my eyes
Emotions swell inside
Walking on a broken path
I look up for the rainbow
Hoping one day i will get off this
Broken Path
And on to
A NEW ONE :)

Drop The Mask
(tim tickner, christopher ward, diana ross)
Look in the mirror, who do you see
Where is the man that you used to be
When you turn off the world and turn down the lights
Do you ever wonder who you are tonight
I knew you then, I love you now
You can call me up when it gets you down
Behind the shades theres someone real
Behind your eyes I wonder how you feel
This is me talking to you
Theres just one thing Im asking you to do
You gotta drop the mask, be yourself
Drop the mask
Trust someone else
No one knows what youre going through
Whatever it is, Ill be there for you
If you drop the mask, be yourself
Drop the mask
Trust someone else
I was there when it all began
I still remember the boy within the man
I understand what it means to run and hide
Theres so much that were holding onto deep down inside
This is me talking to you
The only thing that I want you to do
You gotta drop the mask, be yourself
Drop the mask
Trust someone else
No one knows what youre going through
Whatever it is, Ill be there for you
When you drop the mask, be yourself
Drop the mask
Trust someone else
Drop the mask
Drop the mask
Let down your guard, open your heart
Unlose your chains, dont be afraid
Drop the mask
Be yourself
Be yourself
Trust someone else
You gotta drop the mask
Let down your guard, oh you gotta drop the mask
Trust someone else
You gotta drop the mask

A Real Man
He thinks he looks great
When he acts like an extraordinary man
He seems like he never ever cares
Just because he has those two rough hands
He has extremely serious glance
The smile runs away of his face
He puts on his fake mask on face
To act the strong man
He thinks the real man never suffers
Never feels
never gets hurt
While his heart is filled with sorrows
He acts like he is the last super hero
For him the real gentleman never cries
While the tears are jailed inside his eyes
If those tears could ever shout out
They would beg him to let them out
O, Man don't you know that
The real man is the one who knows
the meaning of cry
Don't you know that the real man
is the one who has storms of feelings inside his heart
Because he believes the real ones always counts.

Smile and Fake it
Smile hold it
just a little longer
they will never see
the pain inside me
smile for them
make them go away
let them believe
everything is ok
smile and just fake it
cuz i know they cant take it
the pain they would never
understand
be the actress
play ur part
u see the words
they never speak
inside im to deep
they could never
get me
so ill smile
and fake it
whatever makes them happy
they can never know
how messed up i am
on the inside
they can sleep
at night and
breath in the day
all because
i smile and
fake it

Mask
In life you meet various people,
some cunning some innocently simple.
the two types are always disguised,
by a mask of emotions, carefully devised.
When you meet someone you cant be sure,
whether their heart is corrupt or pure.
' how much more time? ' you ask,
'before I get to know, the man behind the mask.'
Sometimes you are lucky enough,
to find a soft heart,
beneath an exterior that's rough.
but alas those unlucky souls,
who meet people with selfish goals.
They call them a friend and hold them dear,
but do not realise, that they are not as they appear.
It hurts a lot when 'friends' turn foes,
For sharp thorns do accompany the beautiful rose.
Now, I too hide the real me,
behind a mask put up for the world to see.
Too afraid to let it go,
in case a friend turns out to be a foe.
I meet people with a smile on my face,
but keep the mask handy, just in case.
Wish I could meet someone true,
so I could throw away the mask,
with which I grew.

She'll hide her face
She'll hide her face when shes not alone.
she slaps on her a mask, but its not her own.
It's the mask that everyone else wears.
She wants to be just like them
supposedly free with glee.
Free from her troubles, worries and strife.
Free from her demons that dominate her life.
But when the darkness falls.
And she's all her alone she can't hide her face.
Her mask falls and crumbles apart.
Her heart fills with the numbness she's had for many years.
Now her tears will fall she's all alone.
In her last bid for a better life,
She let the mask slip once.
She had to put it on again as they stared at her in disbelife.
The world didn't want to see her pain.
Rather belives she's an annoying pain.
So Her mask went back on.
Well she planned the day when she'd be gone.

Why Should I Cry
There's a time I felt I was blessed to be loved by you
Those blessings turned to regrets from all the things you put me thru
I remember at night you used to hold me til the sun rose the next day
Now you sleep and just turn away while my heart is on display
CHORUS:
Why should I cry
One more night
Why should I smile
When it hurts inside
Why does my heart say
Get up and walk away
Why do I say
Why should I cry
One more night
Why should I smile
When it hurts inside
Why does my heart say
Get up and walk away
Why do I say
There's a reason why I cry everyday
There's a reason why things don't go your way
There's a reason why I kneel down and pray
There's a reason why Im still around today
Can't you see that I'm hurting internally
I need affection and good love therapy
I need you now it's an urgent delivery
To get rid of this pain from inside of me
CHORUS:
Why should I cry
One more night
Why should I smile
When it hurts inside
Why does my heart say
Get up and walk away
Why do I say
Why should I cry
One more night
Why should I smile
When it hurts inside
Why does my heart say
Get up and walk away
Why do I say
Why should I put up with lies?
Am I afraid to say goodbye?
I loved you so
Baby I cant deny
But now it's time to dry my eyes
Time to think of what was gained
When I feel like it was all of pain
Can't be right and feel this wrong
This heart of mine should just move on
CHORUS:
Why should I cry
One more night
Why should I smile
When it hurts inside
Why does my heart say
Get up and walk away
Why do I say
Why should I cry
One more night
Why should I smile
When it hurts inside
Why does my heart say
Get up and walk away
Why do I say
(Repeat til end)

Fake Smile
When I feel so sad
I just hide it when I'm around people
I put on my
Fake smile
Behind it's a hurtful and depressed girl
Who feel she can't get back up and
Smile for the first time
Since this guy make her like this
I feel like broken picture frame
I need a push to do it again
I try to smile but I can't
I'm lost so I put on a
Fake smile
When I have to
I feel like I will never smile again
I lost it unless one person
I know who will do it and is you baby
I know you are the one
I just have mixed feelings for you
One minute I Iike you and next minute I don't
One day I will get my smile back and
It be thanks to you or to whoever can do it
For right now I have to show a
Fake smile
You did this me and
I did this to myself
It turn out after you been gone awhile
I don't think or cry anymore
I forget you after all
This is real smile and not
Fake smile

The Hunt within
I,
Smile, to my audience
Bow before my pain.
Sing the song of loneliness
mask it with a laugh in vain.
If only you could see; this pain does not have to be.
The hands I feel grasp my chest,
The piercing screams inside,
I know that I'm just prey walking in the hunters grasp, asking for the pain.
But although I feel my strain I know it is not in vain,
So I,
Smile, to my audience
Bow before my pain.
Sing the song of loneliness
Mask it with a laugh in vain.
I feel myself slipping, evil greed poisoning the good; maybe I'm just blind.
I'm the hunter in the dark
The lurk of a selfish need,
I cannot bear to hurt someone else, I can only hurt me.
So I,
Smile, to my audience
Bow before my pain.
Sing the song of loneliness
Mask it with a laugh in vain.
Just the want to feel loved, is making me a monster.
I'm the scratches in my heart
I slowly go insane.
I have no way to walk away; my howl is in a strain,
But I,
Smile, to my audience
Bow before my pain.
Sing the song of loneliness
Mask it with a laugh in vain.
Hope you will see through this mask,
And save what's left of the heart I stained.

Its Too Late
Stayed in bed all morning just to pass the time
Theres something wrong here there can be no denying
Now one of us is changing
Or maybe weve just stopped trying
But its too late baby, now its too late
Though we really did try to make it
Something inside has died and I cant hide
And I just cant fake it
No
It used to be so easy living here with you
You were light and breezy I knew just what to do
But now you look so unhappy and I feel like a fool
But its too late baby, now its too late
Though we really did try to make it
Something inside has died and I cant hide
And I just cant fake it
No
Therell be good times again for me and you
But we just cant stay together dont you see that its true
Still Im glad for what we had
And how I once loved you
But its too late baby, now its too late
Though we really did try to make it
Something inside has died and I cant hide
And I just cant fake it
Its too late baby
Its too late now darling
Its too late
