Tea Time

My watch says four its time for tea
but I’m not where I ought to be.
Instead I’m stuck in this foul trench
amidst the mud and slime and stench
Rotting remains which used to be
young English soldiers just like me.

My country called I volunteered.
My parents saw me off and cheered
They were quite proud to se me go
“To teach some manners to the foe”
But now the smoke and gas has cleared
I’m on my own just as I feared.

Our forward trenches over run
I’m trapped behind the wily Hun
I would surrender if I could
but I cannot I’m losing blood.
I think my time is nearly done.
The only thing that I have won.

A nameless grave like many more.
No one can calculate the score
of those who died on either side.
Involuntary suicide.
There are no winners in this war
a fact the generals ignore.

I watch my life blood drain away.
Surprised to find I do not mind.
I will be pleased: I have to say.
to leave this rotten war behind.
A game I volunteered to play
I cannot stand another day

The mud the blood and misery
which all around me I can see.
I leave behind without regret.
But I can see them clearly yet
My mothers friends all taking tea
I wonder if she’s proud of me.

Suicide Is Painless

Through early morning fog I see
the visions of the things to be.
The pains that are withheld for me
I realize, and I can see.....
that suicide is painless
it brings on many changes
and I can take of leave it if I please
The game of life is hard to play
I'm gonna lose it anyway
the losing card, I'll someday lay
so this is all I have to say
suicide is painless
it brings on many changes
and I can take or leave it if I please
the sword of time will pierce our skin
it doesn't hurt when it begins
but as it works its way on in
the pain grows stronger, watch it brim..
suicide is painless
it brings on many changes
and I can take or leave it if I please
a brave man once requested me
to answer questions that are key
"is it to be, or not to be?"
and I replied, " why ask me?"
but suicide is painless
it brings on many changes
and I can take or leave it if I please
and you can do the same thing if you please

Young Blood

i saw her standing on the corner,
(ooh ooh ooh)
a yellow ribbon in her hair,
(ooh ooh ooh)
i couldn't keep myself from callin' ,
looky there,
looky there,
looky there,
oh looky there!
young blood,
young blood,
young blood,
i can't get you outta my mind.
i took one look and i was flattered
(ooh ooh ooh)
i tried to walk along the lane
(ooh ooh ooh)
i couldn't keep myself from shouting,
whats your name?
whats your name?
whats your name?
oh whats your name?
young blood,
young blood,
young blood,
i can't get you outta my mind.
what crazy step
she looked so tept
i had to follow her all the way home
then things went bad
i met her dad
he said
you'd better leave my daughter alone
i couldn't sleep that night for crying
(ooh ooh ooh)
i saw the rising of the sun
(ooh ooh ooh)
and all along my heart was sighing
she's the one
she's the one
she's the one
oh she's the one
young blood
young blood
young blood
i can't get you outta my mind

Watch My Blood Rain

The blade looks enticing
It's difficult to explain
The ideas of slicing
Watch my blood rain

The cut is deep
Some say I'm insane
It puts me to sleep
To watch my blood rain

The redness is real
I cannot refrain
I know I truly feel
When I watch my blood rain

I sit and I cry
Life is nothing but pain
I ask myself why
I watch my blood rain

My spirit is bound
By this ball and chain
My soul has been downed
Then I watch my blood rain

The anguish is true
My heart has been slain
One day I'll break through
For now I'll watch my blood rain

A War To End All Wars, But Wasn’t

They not only fought the enemy,
but fought the elements as well.
They fought for their country
in lands far from home.
They fought rain, mud and the enemy
in trenches stained with blood
from those who had fallen there before.
They fought on and on
while the Generals watched
the slaughter from far away.
For their mistakes men died
by the score across the battlefield.
Their blood would stained the land
then and forever more.
Then came the gas
like a creeping mist across the battlefield
that silenced all in its wake.
It made no distinction to young or old,
just poisoned all it touched.
Their contorted bodies rotted where they fell.
They said this was a war to end all wars, but it wasn’t.
Almost twenty years later
men from different countries gathered to fight another war
and again in the trenches men fell.
The mechanics had changed;
machines became more prevalent across the battlefield,
still men died for small victories in the tide of war.

You push me to suicide

You'll comit my suicide
You'll push me untill i die
You'll steal the air i breeth
And use it for your own
You'll strangle and choke me
Just for both our peace
You'll comit my sucide
You'll push me until i die
You'll personally take me to my grave
Just you watch as i fade
You may say we're blood
But the thought just makes my blood boil
Oh we are such wonderful friends
I think i'm gonna be sick
You'll comit my suicide
You'll push me untill i die
Just watch as i
Fade away
You steal my breath
And stop my heart
And destroy my little everything
You'll comit my suicide

Some Mothers Son

Some mothers son lies in a field
Someone has killed some mothers son today
Head blown up by some soldiers gun
While all the mothers stand and wait
Some mothers son aint coming home today
Some mothers son aint got no grave
Two soldiers fighting in a trench
One soldier glances up to see the sun
And dreams of games he played when he was young
And then his friend calls out his name
It stops his dream and as he turns his head
A second later he is dead
Some mothers son lies in a field
Back home they put his picture in a frame
But all dead soldiers look the same
While all the parents stand and wait
To meet their children coming home from school
Some mothers son is lying dead
Somewhere someone is crying
Someone is trying to be so brave
But still the world keeps turning
Though all the children have gone away
Some mothers son lies in a field
But in his mothers eyes he looks the same
As on the day he went away
They put his picture on the wall
They put flowers in the picture frame
Some mothers memory remains

The Winners Are Always The Heroes

The winners are always the heroes in life it is always this way
The losers are quickly forgotten though a fine and sporting
game they did play
'Tis only a sport it may well seem where people chase after a ball
But many take football quite seriously though 'tis only a game after all,
The winners are always the heroes and that's how it always will be
The fans of the winners are singing rejoicing in their victory
Life and sports are akin in many ways though some may say 'tis only a game
The winners get all of the applause and the winners can bask in their fame,
The winners are always the heroes and the winners get all of the praise
And always only to the winners the toasters their toasting glasses raise
The losers are quickly forgotten though some must lose for some to win
Yet some look on losing as shameful to them there is no greater sin,
In life as in sport the poor losers are the people the masses ignore
And in football the really big hero is the one who kicks the winning score.

Proud To Be Loud

Listen up good
I got a lot to say
I know what I want
And I get my own way
I call em as I see em
I dont play by the book
One dose of volume
Thats all it took
Ive seen it, Ive done it
Ive heard it before
Now its my turn
To settle the score
Ill sing it, Ill shout it
Ill say it again
I dont care if they
Never give in cause im
Proud to be loud
Proud to be loud
You know Im proud
Proud to be loud
Well Ive alway believed
In freedom of speech
And Ive always been the one
Who practiced what I preached
Love it or leave it
Ill give you the choice
But itll snow in hell
Before I lower my voice
I live it, I breathe it
I gotta have more
Its full blast
And this means war
The power, the glory
Its callin my name
I wont start to
Play their game cause im
Proud to be loud
Proud to be loud
Im proud to be loud
And Ill never
Turn it down again no!!
Proud to be loud
Proud to be loud
Im proud,
Proud to be loud

Desperate and Dreaming

Desperate!
And dreaming.
Of a life that would be the best,
With a lot less guessing kept.

Yes, I'm desperate.
And dreaming.
To leave behind a manifesting of,
All that is that comes to suck my blood!

Aches and pains that cause me strain,
That come along to suck my blood.
Emotions that seem to remain the same,
That come along to suck my blood.
Relationships splitting over petty business,
That come along to suck my blood.
It's hard to move forward when a stagnant sits.
That comes along to suck my blood.

Yes, I am desperate.
And dreaming.
To leave behind a manifesting of,
All that is that comes to suck my blood!

I'm ready to leave behind the tit for tat pits,
That come along to suck my blood.
And people who decide they wish an argument,
That come along to suck my blood.
While stirring up their needless conflicts meant.
That come along to suck my blood.
From me I want all of that pushed and shoved.
That comes along to suck my blood.
That comes along to suck my blood.

Oh yes, I'm desperate.
And I'm also dreaming.
To leave behind a manifesting of,
All that is that comes to suck my blood!

Aches and pains that cause me strain,
That come along to suck my blood.
Emotions that seem to remain the same,

Winners Take All

Life's been good
Life's been bad
Now I know
What I had
Has taken it's toll on me
Yes we give
And we take
What we get
Is what we make
Believe that dreams come true
Life is crazy
We're not fools, no, no
The price is high
When you keep the score
Take your souls
And your goals
To the top
Together we stand
We won't take no more
Cause we're winners
And winners take all
Together we stand
We won't take no more
Cause we're winners
And winners take all
We have loved
Burned by fate
But for once
Set the record straight
Time does heal all wounds
You have laughed
We have cried
Paid our dues
Yes we're turned the tide
Mistakes are far and few
We need no guidance
Our aim is true
Down the road
There were many tolls
But we know
Cause we've grown
What we need
Together we stand
We won't take no more
Cause we're winners
And winners take all
Together we stand
We won't take no more
Cause we're winners
And winners take all
The price is high
When you keep the score
Take your souls
And your goals
To the top
Together we stand

Rain On A Scarecrow

Scarecrow on a wooden cross Blackbird in the barn
Four hundred empty acres that used to be my farm
I grew up like my daddy did My grandpa cleared this land
When I was five I walked the fence while grandpa held my hand
Rain on the scarecrow Blood on the plow
This land fed a nation This land made me proud
And Son I'm just sorry there's no legacy for you now
Rain on the scarecrow Blood on the plow
Rain on the scarecrow Blood on the plow
The crops we grew last summer weren't enough to pay the loans
Couldn't buy the seed to plant this spring and the Farmers Bank foreclosed
Called my old friend Schepman up to auction off the land
He said John it's just my job and I hope you understand
Hey calling it your job ol' hoss sure don't make it right
But if you want me to I'll say a prayer for your soul tonight
And grandma's on the front porch swing with a Bible in her hand
Sometimes I hear her singing "Take me to the Promised Land"
When you take away a man's dignity he can't work his fields and cows
There'll be blood on the scarecrow Blood on the plow
Blood on the scarecrow Blood on the plow
Well there's ninety-seven crosses planted in the courthouse yard
Ninety-seven families who lost ninety-seven farms
I think about my grandpa and my neighbors and my name
And some nights I feel like dyin' Like that scarecrow in the rain
Rain on the scarecrow Blood on the plow
This land fed a nation This land made me proud
And Son I'm just sorry they're just memories for you now
Rain on the scarecrow Blood on the plow
Rain on the scarecrow Blood on the plow
Rain on the scarecrow Blood on the plow
This land fed a nation This land made me proud
And Son I'm just sorry they're just memories for you now

Business Of War

The Business of War.
In this clearing in the woods so full of butter coloured flowers
I know there is a mass grave underneath, a forgotten war,
bones of the nameless that died for a cause that was not theirs,
but they were loyal and when told to fight and they often died,
many never knowing why. At the edge, of the yellow field,
there are pale poppies the dead have no more blood to offer.
I think of Afghanistan, poppies there are more deadly, I wonder
if western soldiers who lost their life in a cause that is unclear,
will get their own graveyard and have their crosses there,
in a Moslem country, tended to with fresh flowers, but go easy
on the poppies. The skeletons under my feet, died because of
salt that, once upon a time- before oil- was big business, but I’m
sure the soldiers were told lies about nationality and freedom.

Free To Go

Catching butterflies, line drives, watching tv
I had seven good years til they noticed they were looking at me
I didnt like what they see
Trapped in the back seat, stay on your side
My hand out the window feeling the air rush by
While my parents fight
Where did you go? did I make you leave?
Another thing I didnt know
Nobody ever believes. they just leave, they just leave
And theyll see you on their own sweet time
They just leave
I didnt leave my room til I learned how to drive
I was sweet seventeen, fighting with the back of my mind
til the wheel was all mine
Free to go, but still to young to leave
Old enough to think I know
That nobody ever believes, they just leave, they just leave
My plane landed, Im alive
Im not fighting with the things
I never thought Id do to survive
Now weve finally arrived
Now I know, more than Ive ever believed
You could never let me know
You were just as young as me
You had to leave, you had to leave

Your Blood Seeping Through the New Blood Flow

The razor is the one that cuts the wrists
Drawing blood with every slit
The razor is the one that makes anger let go
Your blood seeping through the new blood flow

The gun is the one that takes your pain
Leaving loved ones and some shame
The gun is the one that lets life go
Your blood seeping through the new blood flow

The pills are the ones that cause endings
Swallowing twenty without pretending
No life left leaking when you swallow
Your blood seeping through the new blood flow

Suicide is your way of giving up
Because you think your life's bankrupt
Suicide your way of letting go
Your blood seeping through the new blood flow

The War Hero

He sat at the bar, drinking his Jack
Talking about the war, since he came back
It ruined his mind, and broke his spirit too
He had seen alot of death among his crew
He drank till he didn't have to think at all
He drank till he couldn't hear the bugal call
When not drinking, he was taking so many pills
Disabled now, his wife paying all the bills
His very soul was tortured all the time
From crawling in the jungle in the dirt and slime
Hearing the shots fired every where
He was shooting too, just a boy there
He lived the war over every night in his dreams
In his sleep he could still his buddies screams
The war took a young boy and ruined his life
But he was proud, he had served in all the strife
This good man died just a year ago
He fought for our freedom and we do owe
Our freedom takes the life of young men
They serve their country and most come home again
All their lives will never be the same
Some will return whole and some lame
I'm proud to be a citizen of the USA
Where we're strong and proud and will never sway!

A tale of Goodwill....

A family of four; parents, two sons;
Charlie the elder, young was Harrison.

Every blessing of World ' imagine,
Father provided keenly in abundant fashion.

But something tormented him from inside,
Peeled his flesh n blood, was Charlie (his son) his pride.

Dearest to him, was the upshot of his dreams;
But seemed aloof & angry with demands in extreme.

A connection suggested (father) to be friends with sons;
Will be on losing end, this gap is grave concern.

Thought of intervention towards younger son,
Forbade him to imitate, the child was Harrison.

One day he asked the younger one:
Spare sometime my dear son

Some interests to relate, define & renew
Share mundanely matters, or when u feel blue.

Feel free to tell me secrets, I am your friend
And father felt feather light, thought relations all mend.

That Young soul took advice by heart.
Green & unfledged, thought a friendly start.

But what to talk or tell, nothing came to mind;
Next day after school, Harrison skipped his play time,

And waited for his father's to come from work.
Sat along him, questioned nonsense irks.

Father answered few, but wasn't in a mood
Conversation was at sea, matters very crude.

Next day waited again
But still no hope, not much gain.

Without any clue started same discussion,
Pointless it was, knew result was concussion.

Never called for, two days in stack
Goodwill once volunteered, but hope taking aback.

Still with spirits though not very high,
Son waited third day, to meet his big guy.

Same clueless questions he had;
But Answer this time, hit deep and sad.

"Why too inquisitive & interrogative with me,
I am your father, not a proven guilty".

Son stood baffled, what to say ….
But friendship was confident enough to sneak away.
