Sacred ground for friend J.T Ellison

Between green banks where flowers grow.
Swift silver streams serenely flow.
There’s no sign of pollution here
their waters flowing crystal clear.

A scene worthy of paradise
that’s guaranteed to please the eyes
of anyone invited to
come and spend an hour or two.

Here birds and beast find sanctuary
to live as they should, naturally.
Safe from all human predators.
Still prey and preyed upon of course.

Each creature has an equal chance
maintaining constant vigilance
. Some have to die so others live
only the fittest will survive.

Although this land belongs to me
I wield no real authority.
I’m subject to the self same laws
which nature can and does enforce.

The duty she has laid on me
is to maintain the secrecy
of where this peaceful haven lies
and I agree I think it wise.

Live and let live

A long abandoned grave yard lies
outside the city boundary.
It has become a paradise,
A well established sanctuary.

Unwanted pets turned out to roam
by cruel owners who don’t care.
Are welcome here to make a home
amongst their wilder brethren there.

beside the graves in disrepair
or in the brambles overgrown.
They are quite sure to find a lair,
some place that they can call their own.

Although the predators still prey
They’re only acting naturally
by following Dame Natures way.
They co exist quite happily.

Eat or be eaten is the law.
You will not get a second chance
for nature’s red in tooth and claw.
The price of life is vigilance.

At least they live free from fear
of mans unthinking cruelty
Few humans ever venture near
this abandoned cemetery.

Short term gains experimental form

A great grey/green expanse of mud.
Covered twice daily by the flood
when the high tide comes flowing in.
Where does land end and sea begin?

Adapted to their habitat
the denizens live happily.

They recognise no boundary.
For they are free to come and go
between the salt marsh and the sea.
They know all that they need to know.

Adapted to their habitat
the denizens live happily.

Here they can live quite easily
safe from most land based predators
protected by the friendly sea.
The wading birds parade in force.

Adapted to their habitat
the denizens live happily.

To men a bleak unfriendly place.
To wading birds a paradise
providing them with a safe base
which guarantees their food supplies.

Adapted to their habitat
the denizens live happily.

Until men choose to interfere
and build dykes to hold back the sea.
The mud flats slowly disappear
The denizens are forced to flee.

For men adapt their habitat
so they can live more comfortably.

Though nature wins eventually
she will regain that which men claim
as theirs by waiting patiently.
She knows that she will win the game.

Though men adapt their habitat
it’s only temporarily.

The works of man though built to last
are not immune to nature’s laws.
They’re undermined and overcast
by years that slowly pass of course.

Nature restores the habitat
back to the way it used to be.

The birds return to their domain
as if they’d never been away
What man once held the birds regain
as Mother Nature gets her way.

Adapted to their habitat
the denizens live happily.

It Is Survival Of The Fittest

On the flesh of smaller forms of wildlife the eagle she does fill her craw
A predator of Nature's wild kingdom and Nature lives by her own law
And the predators of Nature's wild kingdom they have to kill to stay alive
It is called the survival of the fittest where only the fittest survive.

The fear of creatures of the jungle when they listen to the big cats roar
But in Nature big cats are not seen as killers they hunt for survival nothing more
They have to hunt when they are hungry of meat they need their daily fill
It is one of the Laws of Nature that the predator to eat must kill.

Nature never grieves for her dead creatures to grieve it is not Nature's way
She is above sorrow and pity when on her bosom her dead creatures lay
Us humans too are part of Nature we live for awhile and we die
The creatures of Nature's wild kingdom they are not less mortal than I.

It is called survival of the fittest it happens in Nature night and day
Those that are born to be meat eaters on other creatures have to prey
And birth and death to Mother Nature are part of life and of the same
And for the deaths of her wildborn her predators she never blame.

The way it has to be

The way it has to be

The world is full of predators,
the strongest prey upon the week
It’s one of nature’s primal laws.

Only the fittest live to breed
and pass strong genes to their offspring.
They must be ruthless to succeed.

Mankind does not obey these rules
and by preserving weaker strains
Appears perhaps to prove that we are fools.

We breed beyond capacity
and damage the environment.
Avoiding the simplicity of laws

which Mother Nature made.
The weak and flawed will not survive
they simply do not make the grade.

Though Mother Nature can enforce
the rules she made. against mans will
Does so as matter of course.

Too many mouths too little food
Many must die to save the few
Maybe it’s time we understood.

Mother nature‘s in control
Because mankind’s not fit to be
She sees the picture as a whole.

Something that mankind cannot do
His stiff necked pride gets in the way.
So Nature does what she needs to.

She culls the herds quite ruthlessly
the weakest still go to the wall.
This is the way it has to be.

Guardian?

Guardian.

Surreal scenes of beauty lie
silently beneath the sky

You find them unexpectedly.
If you are lucky you will see.

Scenes seldom seen by human eyes
A veritable paradise
.
Which nature has successfully
managed to keep completely free.

From outside interference.
Secrecy her best defence..

Now you have glimpsed this paradise.
You will forget if you are wise.

Where you have been what you have seen.
You know too well what it would mean.

If it should become well known.
Instead of leaving it alone.

Some businessman would surely buy.
In search of profit he would try.

To sell it off as building lots.
A common fate of beauty spots.

What can you say to convince me
You will maintain the secrecy.

If you cannot then you must die
and with the other strangers lie.

I will kill you reluctantly
to maintain the security.

Of this secluded beauty spot
Have I the right or do I not?

Out There In Nature's Wild Kingdom

Out there in Nature's wild kingdom the struggle is for to survive
And the strongest and the fittest can only hope to thrive
In a time of Global warming chances of extinction multiply
And people as well as all of life endangered as the Planet becomes more dry,
Out there in Nature's wild kingdom by men one more wood is cut down
For to build a new housing estate on the verge of the town
Habitat destruction a huge threat to wildlife
In a World where human greed is becoming more rife
Out there amongst Nature birds and beasts of prey
The creatures of night and the creatures of day
Must kill for to eat such is life one might say
Survival of the fittest that is Nature's way
And out there in Nature's kingdom the fittest survive
And most creatures must struggle just to stay alive.

Just Beyond The Rainbow’s End

There is a green and pleasant land,
where I wish to spend my retiring years.
A land that has tall mountains
that reach up to the sky,
trees tall, green and noble
that stretch across many acres of land,
with cooling streams that flow through the heart
of this green and pleasant land
that lies just beyond the rainbow’s end.
This is where this paradise starts,
a place one day to which I’ll lose my heart.
The people there are friendly
and take you in with open arms.
There one day I hope to be
in that green and pleasant land
that lies just beyond the rainbow’s end.

The Once Great River

In the once great river pollution is rife
Nowadays it does not support much aquatic life
In a polluted river fresh water fish rare
Pollution can cause extinction of that much we are aware
On the polluted river few water birds to be seen
Most of the river pools covered in algae of green
From sewage and wash of chemical fertilisers that in drains into it does flow
With so called human progress the scourge of pollution does grow
Pollution in it flowing to the distant ocean shore
The once great river is not great anymore
Do not drink of these waters the warning signs say
Pollutiuon is rife in the World of today
And the once great river flows on muddy gray
To the mighty ocean many miles away.

Nature the Guardian of Earth's Beauty

Nature Nature Nature
The thing that has made every creature.
It’s in the sun in the sky
And not to forget the birds that fly.

Nature is the guardian of Earth’s beauty
& protecting it is our duty.
Nature is the eternal power in the universe
But pollution today is a human curse.

Without nature Earth would be Black & White
How many of us would love such a sight ?
We must get everything going right
It’s a matter that should not be taken light.

I Have Praised Mother Nature

I have praised Mother Nature in ballad, song and rhyme
And writing on Mother Nature is never a waste of time
And though I am not a Burns, Francis Ledwidge or John Clare
I am one of the many about Nature who does care.

To write something on Nature is always satisfying
For Nature she has been around before creatures started flying
Her streams flow to her rivers her rivers to her oceans flow
And Nature will live forever though her Seasons will come and go.

I have praised mother Nature and her praises I'll always sing
The colours of her Seasons Summer, Autumn, Winter and Spring
And though I truly love her little of her ways I know
I find her quite amazing and my wonder of her grow.

To my Goddess of Nature this rhyme I dedicate
I live in sheer awe of her of the beauty she create
She is the one immortal her beauty will live on
Long after the last human being to her reaper has gone.

Maintaining A Maintenance Of One's Sanity

Maintaining a maintenance of one's sanity,
Requires constant discipline.
And the benefits of rest one gets...
Not outdated 'yet' or considered obsolete.

These times we live press forward,
With lightening fast speed.
So quick some noses may even bleed.

Swift are the thoughts required to think.
Leaving decisions made,
Before clouded eyes are seen to blink.

Technology driven are electronic inventions.
And a mental nimbleness...
Is required to live a life in the midst of this.

And those believing they can live without PC's...
Will be left behind conversing with robots.
Once referred to as human beings.

Swift are the thoughts required to think.
Leaving decisions made,
Before clouded eyes are seen to blink.

Maintaining a maintenance of one's sanity,
Requires constant discipline.
And the benefits of rest one gets...
Not outdated 'yet' or considered obsolete.

The Amazing Wonders Of Nature

The more that I learn about Nature the less of her I know that I know
And the more that I learn of Nature the more my wonder of her does grow
One can only live in awe of her wonders she does seem amazing to me
Scarce a day goes by that in Nature a new wonder one does not see
The artists and writers are inspired by her she is one not hard to admire
And of singing our Earth Mother's praises I feel that one never could tire
I am not a student of Nature though that's something I wish I could be
Her ways I do find fascinating yet she does seem too complex for me
Since she hides from us her many secrets all in Nature is not what you think that you see
The birds and animals have their survival methods which they do guard with secrecy
The different ways of the different creatures of land and of river and sea
On the ways and the workings of Nature the experts even disagree
The more that I learn of Nature so little of her I know that I know
So marvellous and so amazing and my wonder of her only grow.

An Industrial Estate

I walk through the fields laden with life,
There are flowers, bushes and trees,
They show no signs of stress or of strife,
There's wonder in the birds and bees.

The deer roam free while the fox cubs play,
The voles and mice are at rest,
An eagle overhead blocks the sunshine's ray,
This is truly how beauty's expressed.

At one with nature is how we should live,
We all have a right to survive,
Being cruel to others is hard to forgive,
Why don't we let animals thrive?

I've come back home after a long time gone,
To see where I ventured and played,
The wildlife habitat has been withdrawn,
All those animals have now been betrayed.

We cannot complain when we're overrun,
By animals seeking shelter from above,
We've stolen their land when all's said and done,
Without mercy they've been given the shove.

Where can they go when we steal their land?
The fact is we don't really care,
The way we treat animals is so underhand,
They've no time or chance to prepare.

Like us they'll try their best to exist,
Though they're living in constant fear,
Their right to live is being dismissed,
Take action now or they'll all disappear.

Those beautiful fields that I once knew,
All the animals have been left to their fate,
From their old habitat the pollution will spew,
As it's now,

‘' An Industrial Estate ‘'

Each Thing Of Life In Nature

Each thing of life in Nature has a duty to fulfil
In Spring the skylark leaves the ground and soars above the hill
'Tis hardly for the love of song that upwards he does fly
And carols his way upwards towards the gray clouds of the sky.

The red earth worm who lives in the ground sheltered from the sun, rain and storm
Though to us quite insignificant has a duty to perform
It aerates the surface soil which helps crops for to grow
To Nature's little earth worm respect we ought to show.

Each life form serves some purpose in Nature of which we are aware
The mouse the rat the lizard and the rabbit and the hare
Are preyed upon by predators the small by the bigger eat
For every herbivore born there's one born to eat meat.

In Nature every life form serves some purpose that's how it does seem to me
But with what i say I know too well that not all would agree
In Nature each life form serves some purpose from the great to the small
And that applies to human beings as well as things that swim, fly walk and crawl.

For Human Greed

We may as well try to find another Planet to live on
Since people they cannot live on the Moon
And Mother Earth the Planet that sustains us
We in our fits of madness choose to ruin.

And perhaps there's not another Planet out there
For human beings to live on and destroy
'Twould seem indeed that the price of human progress
Comes at a cost and the cost seems far too high.

Each day more creatures of extinction endangered
When the land they live on we choose to invade
And extinction sad to say it is forever
For human greed the price has to be paid.

We are paving the way to our own extinction
Where humans live pollution becomes rife
The World will not end with the death of the last human
And Nature will do nicely without human life.

We had better find another Planet to live on
Or become extinct as a species that's our choice
As we are making the Planet we live on for us quite unlivable
For human greed that seems too high a price.

Enforced Solution

The greatest problem that men face
Is overpopulation.
We will run out of living space.
There won’t be room for everyone.

The powers that be refuse to see
they must find some solution
and implement urgently.
I cannot be the only one

To see disaster looms ahead.
Unless it’s taken seriously.
the human race has over bred.
Continues to haphazardly.

If we don’t act then Nature will.
She’s not prepared to tolerate
Too many mouths she cannot fill.
Although our rulers hesitate.

Dame Nature can act ruthlessly
And she will not procrastinate.
Once she sees the necessity.
and act before it is too late.

As I suspect she’s done before.
She will revive some old disease
we’re not immune to any more.
And cut our numbers down with ease.

Only the fittest will survive.
A hardy stock from which to breed
to keep the human race alive.
Because of course we took no heed.

The warning signs were clear to see.
One of Natures oldest laws
We chose to ignore foolishly,
that Mother Nature must enforce.

Too many mouths, too little food.
Too many people to sustain
Then Nature acts for own good
and culls the breeding stock again…

Gaia’s Plan

Please, don’t sweep the leaves away –
Their essence gives to life’s decay.

Never hack the flowers down –
Their colours bless the laughing clown.

Now why the mowing of the lawn?
The severed grass will lie forlorn.

Let our flora live undressed,
Or under Man, will toil repressed!

I, the tree of standing still –
Erect and proud, and stout of will,
Aglow with motley bark of earth –
Advance my roots for all they’re worth,
Internalising Nature’s bowels
To snag the devil, tweak his jowls
And pull his hairs from whence they grow!
I’ll destroy his pagan show
Of Homo sapiens’ disrespect!

The humble ape must reconnect
With Gaia’s plan!

Mother Nature Knows

The sedge along the riverside.
Provides a perfect place to hide
For creatures which we rarely see.
Small animals which need to be.
Hid from the eyes of predators.
Who hunt along the water course.

Feathered hunters high in the sky
follow the river as they fly
In their eternal hunt for prey.
Ready to stoop without delay.
Given the opportunity
On some potential meal they see..

Small creatures seeking sustenance.
Who are prepared to take a chance.
To forage for the food they need
Far from the safety of the weeds
where they are hidden from the view.
Of predators who must feed too.

Though most will die some will survive.
Enough to keep the breed alive.
Ma Nature plans well in advance
for each and every circumstance.
She will maintain the status quo.
Which was established long ago.

Eyes Once Clouded Clear to Brightness

Hussshhh...
The presence of truth,
Is amongst us on the scene.
Ssshhh,
A silence invited...
Stills the air,
Of chirping birds.
And frantic human beings.

The rustling leaves on trees slowly blow.
It is as though,
A divinity has arrived.

Eyes once clouded clear to brightness.
Those accustomed to disguises,
Stop charades paraded with lies.
And...
Hussshhh...
The presence of truth,
Is amongst us on the scene.
Ssshhh,
A silence invited...
Stills the air,
Of chirping birds.
And frantic human beings.

The rustling leaves on trees slowly blow.
It is as though,
A divinity has arrived.

Eyes once clouded clear to brightness.
Those accustomed to disguises,
Stop charades paraded with lies.
And to everyone's surprise,
Truth does not victimize...
As rumored.

And that which had been disrespected,
Is now observed.
As those things nature protects.
With a consciousness of this as it is.
To expose regret for all the neglect done and shown.
Awakening sensitivities dismissed...
And many to experience tears of happiness.
And...
This is good.

Hussshhh...
Let the presence of truth,
Amongst us on the scene...
Prevail.
