Nostalgic recollections for M lady Tara
The garden still beneath the moon, the silence echoes with a tune.
The tune we danced to, the night we met. A melody that lingers yet.
We fell in love two crazy fools, for others not for us the rules.
Our raging hormones were to blame. We were both losers in the game.
that nature plays to procreate. We understood but far too late.
What we felt was transient, a short lived lustful incident.
We parted then as we both knew. It was the only thing to do.
We saw it as a passing phase and so we went our separate ways.
Made no attempt to keep in touch. I thought of you but not too much.
I wonder do you think of me and if you do is it kindly.
The way that I remember you.I like to think perhaps you do.
Long years have passed and I grow old. I am no longer brash and bold
I think you will have mellowed too. A happy life my wish for you

A fool's game
It was a fool's game that should not begin
And you played it without honest rules
If you thought that you will always win
Well it's wrong 'cause it's a game for fools
If you thought that you can get me easy
And you tried to do this without honest rules
If you thought that my way to be is sleazy
Well it's wrong 'cause it's a game for fools
If you thought that you can hunt me slowly
And you danced this without honest rules
If you thought that I will love you only
Well it's wrong 'cause it's a game for fools
It was a morbid dance without real feelings
A dance of wishes without honest rules
If you thought that love means mutual dealings
Well it's wrong 'cause it's a game for fools
If you thought that you will be a winer
In this love fight without honest rules
If you thought I'm a cake at your dinner
Well it's wrong 'cause it's a game for fools
And if you thought you can get everything
In this world of yours without honest rules
If you thought that I'm an easy stupid thing
Well it's wrong 'cause it's a game for fools.

Mr. Moon
Written by jay kay, toby smith and stuart zender
Whooo wo wo now
Have you gone astray or lost your way?
You should have seen me yesterday,
Well i knew this kind of love was written in the stars
It's only once or twice that you're inline with mr.moon
Then it was you...
You took me on your cloud
Give me flowers for my pain
But with some degree my destiny seemed to slip away from me
Before i got to now your name...
Just give me a chance
I'll do what you want me to
Everybody wants to dance, so how come i can't dance with you
You really turn me on
You're the one that makes me smile...
It's mr moon who plays in tune,
Mr moon who knows
And if it's mr. moon who gives the sign then that's the sign that goes on
I never know what to do till i'm there with you....
Eh....all right on....
Did you lose your mind or for a day?
You don't remember anyway...
Like the waters of a dream encapsulate my mind
A place i haven't seen sits a the end of space and time
So lost in love...
Than i think i'm blind...
To purchanse upon this circumstance,
It's something of a miracle so spiritual it's verging on the physical...
Searching for a love i cannot find...
Oh, now i'm lost in your love...
Now i'm lost, and i don't know when to turn,
Now i'm lost in your, now i'm lost in your love...
Parira parira...parira parira...
(just play my tune, oh mr. moon)
Just play my tune, just play my tune
Just play my tune, just play my tune
Just play my tune, just play my tune
Ooooh la la, la lara lo la la, lalala...
Just give me a chance
I'll do what you want me to
Everybody wants to dance, so how come i can't dance with you
You really turn me on
You're the one that makes me smile...yeah......oh!
It's mr moon who plays in tune,
Mr moon who knows
And if it's mr. moon who gives the sign then that's the sign that goes on
I never know what to do till i'm there with you....
Eh, eh....oh now....
Oh mr. moon play that tune for me...
Oh mr. moon just play tune for me...
Why don't you play that tune that i can't get down, that i can't get down with this girl...
(oooooh.....)
Oh, that girl, you know she really, blows my, head apart,
And the sky and the stars, all, synkronized...
Eh no.... no no no, now me and her,
We are love...
We have synkronized...i know...
This is love...
This is love...
Oh now girl....you know... and the stars and moon have synkronized their love...
Ooooh, ooooh
Oh, come girl!
I wanna tell you how i love you since we came together yeah! oh yeah yeah yeah!
Oooh.... i wanna tell you how i love you since we came together...
Hey just play my tune, just play my tune, just play my tune...
Hey, hey now girl you know that our love is synkronized...
I got to tell you, whooo i got to tell you....

Pierrot
Pierrot stands in the garden
Beneath a waning moon,
And on his lute he fashions
A fragile silver tune.
Pierrot plays in the garden,
He thinks he plays for me,
But I am quite forgotten
Under the cherry tree.
Pierrot plays in the garden,
And all the roses know
That Pierrot loves his music, --
But I love Pierrot.

Long, Long, Long, Long Ago
Long, long, long, long ago,
There lived a man named Santiago
He loved to play his pipe day long,
By the rivulet and hill along.
The tune of the pipe filled the air,
Nature the listener, human a rare!
With its melody danced the trees,
The brooklet stopped going freeze.
The sky remained azure always,
The Sun could not withdraw his rays.
He had nothing to have there,
Squirrels cracked nuts to share.
The song birds singing moved around,
Keeping in pace with his lovely sound.
Happy was the man Santiago,
He lived there long, long ago.

Absent Tune
In everything we do lies a melody
that absent tune we cannot hear.
Some call it the rhythm of life
that follows us step by step
as we walk our life through.
Love has a crazy beat,
which we all dance to,
young and old, no matter who.
Whether it be winter, spring, summer or fall.
Love’s crazy beat captures us all
and makes us dance to its tune.
Like life’s absent melody
we cannot hear it,
only feel its tug on our shoulder
that makes us turn around
and dance to its tune.
We cannot resist no matter what
as it is part of life’s melody
that absent tune we cannot hear.
The one we must always obey
whenever it rings in our ear.

Your Love Lingers On
Long after your touch has faded from my body
And the scent of your sweet perfume has gone
Long after your kiss is faded from my lips
Your love lingers on.
Chorus:
It's still in the air, it's everywhere.
It never disappears, it surrounds me like a melody
Reminding me you were here.
Long after the glow has faded from the moonlight
And the stars have given way to greet the dawn
Long after the night has faded to sunlight
You love lingers on.
Chorus:
It's still in the air, it's everywhere.
It never disappears, it surrounds me like a melody
Reminding me you were here.
Long after your whisper has faded from my ears
And the curtains are no longer drawn
Long after the passion fades into memories
Your love lingers on.
Chorus:
It's still in the air, it's everywhere.
It never disappears, it surrounds me like a melody
Reminding me you were here.
Your love lingers on.
Your love lingers on.

In the Garden, With My Father
It is spring.
As in my garden, I stand.
In the garden -
My father is there;
... though long since gone...
He IS there.
I tend to the weeds,
The veggies and flowers...
He is there.
I never understood him
(as I should have, could have) ...
Until now,
Here, in the garden.
Where I, like he, work the soil.
I've come just recently
(these last few years)
To enjoy and love my garden so.
- I am not as surprised afterall, as I would have thought,
To find him here.
Here, in the garden.
He loved his garden very much.......
I - at that early age of restless youth - had no use
For such slow moving things.
But now, I see, and myself move, at a much slower pace.
Therefore, it is him I am here and now able to see,
In the garden.
Watching it all grow, so peacefully.
It is somewhat sad, that now,
When I can no longer tell him,
I understand.
For I have come to find... I love the garden too,
Just as much as he;
And we both always will.
My father - standing in the garden -
I now know.
After all these long years.
And I've missed him so;
But, how wonderful to find,
He IS here...
In the garden, our garden,
Always, with me.

Nothin New Under The Moon
Nowhere to go.
All night took everything.
Another nice try with mr. wrong.
Late night tv on my horizon.
National anthem and Im barely hangin on.
Just a typical saturday night.
Feeling like the rest of my life.
There was nothing new under the moon.
Same old dance, same old tune.
Just wishes on stars that never came true.
Just one more night to get through.
But there was nothing new under the moon, til you.
Hey what a change.
Hey what a concept.
Heres a true heart wanting mine.
News flash! whod ever thought you could
Have the same feeling at the very same time?
Look at what your loves doing to me.
I cant believe I used to believe
That there was nothing new under the moon.
Same old dance, same old tune.
Just wishes on stars that never came true.
Just one more night to get through.
There was nothing new under the moon, til you.
Nothin new under the moon
Same old dance, same old tune.
Just wishes on stars that never came true.
Just one more night to get through.
There was nothing new under the moon, til you.
Nothin new under the moon, til you.
There was nothing new under the moon, til you.
Nothin new, til you.
There was nothing new under the moon, til you.

Remember When
Remember when I was young and so were you
And time stood still and love was all we knew
You were the first, so was I
We made love and then you cried
Remember when
Remember when we vowed the vows
and walked the walk
Gave our hearts, made the start, it was hard
We lived and learned, life threw curves
There was joy, there was hurt
Remember when
Remember when old ones died and new were born
And life was changed, disassembled, rearranged
We came together, fell apart
And broke each other's hearts
Remember when
Remember when the sound of little feet
was the music
We danced to week to week
Brought back the love, we found trust
Vowed we'd never give it up
Remember when
Remember when thirty seemed so old
Now lookin' back, it's just a steppin' stone
To where we are,
where we've been
Said we'd do it all again
Remember when
Remember when we said when we turned gray
When the children grow up and move away
We won't be sad, we'll be glad
For all the life we've had
And we'll remember when
Remember when
Remember when

Lit The Moon.
I waited all of my life.
For love to come around.
Not with clash of cymbals.
But without a sound,
You charmed my very being.
With raging
Softest kiss.
Disarmed the darkness
I was fleeing.
With one touch
Of heavenly bliss.
As I felt your written word,
I prayed
You'd be back soon.
My early hopes,
I thought absurd.
Then
You went and lit the moon.
Spilling ink
From a well
In my heart,
Across the page.
Flung into the night
Amidst her spell.
To greet
The moon and stars
On stage.
It was then,
I tried to woo you
With my rhymes.
Win you
With a stanza.
Bring your soul
Sweet echoed chimes.
A cultural bonanza.
Old fashioned verse
For modern times.
Tales of love
That danced
To a symphony in blue.
All sentiments enhanced,
A playful kitten
In a human zoo.
I'd stab my soul
With my quill.
To bleed
A poet's wistful trill.
But you sang
The sweetest tune.
When
You went and lit the moon.

Tennessee Moon
Written by: neil diamond & dennis morgan
Hollywood dont do what it once could do
I used to wake up and write me a song before noon
So I packed my dusty bags one night
Grabbed an old guitar and I caught a red eye(? ) flight
In search of a dream underneath the tennessee moon
I fell in love with to old hank williams tune
Makes me wonder, is it the same moon hank played under
Touched down and she stole my heart right away
Began to think for the first time I might stay
And when I heard that lonesome whistle moan
Knew Id finally found my way back home
In search of a dream underneath the tennessee moon
I fell in love with to old hank williams tune
And I wonder, is it the same moon hank stood under
When he sang about jambalaya and being lonesome enough to cry
And I can hear the echos in the sounds of his guitar
And his words still paint a picture in my heart
Yeah, in search of a dream underneath the tennessee moon
I fell in love with to old hank williams tune
I was in search of a dream underneath the tennessee moon
Yes, I fell in love with to old hank williams tune

The Wayward Wolf and Winter Owl
The wayward wolf howls to the misty moon,
His heart filled with sorrow,
That he spills into dead of night,
And echoes into silence of another cry,
Never stopping to let his weary feet rest,
Intensifying his cry.
The winter owl soars below the hollow moon,
Singing its sad tune,
Into sight as it sings and sighs,
Catching the sight of a wayward weary eye,
Together they meet and greet the rising of the dreary moon,
Filling their songs with the tune of the morrow,
Blending their hearts and souls in the tune of the morning’s morrow.
‘Till the moon doth rise again

On a Wedding Anniversary
The sky is torn across
This ragged anniversary of two
Who moved for three years in tune
Down the long walks of their vows.
Now their love lies a loss
And Love and his patients roar on a chain;
From every tune or crater
Carrying cloud, Death strikes their house.
Too late in the wrong rain
They come together whom their love parted:
The windows pour into their heart
And the doors burn in their brain.

The Night That Tito Played
It was a hot night
The crowd was hangin' in the neighborhood
Everybody there was lookin' so cool
Everyone was feelin' so good
Now, mister puente
They said he'd be here by ten-thirty
Said he was comin' back to his roots again
To finds some old friends
The night that Tito played
My life forever changed
I felt my heart and soul come alive
I felt it all
Movin' and swayin' under the moon
Prayin' to the rhythm of a puente tune
The night that Tito played
Nothin' was ever the same
There was Romona
She came uptown from corona
Right there on the stairway of the subway train
We danced real slow
(she was heaven to know)
She whispered secrets
The way she kissed me it was perfect
We held on in the shadows of the city lights
Oh, it felt so right
The night that Tito played
My life forever changed
I felt my heart and soul come alive
I felt it all
Movin' and swayin' under the moon
Prayin' to the rhythm of a puente tune
The night that Tito played
Nothin' was ever the same
The night that Tito played
My life forever changed
I felt my heart and soul come alive
I felt it all
Movin' and swayin' under the moon
Prayin' to the rhythm of a puente tune
The night that Tito played
Nothin' would ever be the same

In the Orchard
'I thought you loved me.' 'No, it was only fun.'
'When we stood there, closer than all?' 'Well, the harvest moon
Was shining and queer in your hair, and it turned my head.'
'That made you?' 'Yes.' 'Just the moon and the light it made
Under the tree?' 'Well, your mouth, too.' 'Yes, my mouth?'
'And the quiet there that sang like the drum in the booth.
You shouldn't have danced like that.' 'Like what?' 'So close,
Whith your head turned up, and the flower in your hair, a rose
That smelt all warm.' 'I loved you. I thought you knew
I wouldn't have danced like that with any but you.'
'I didn't know, I thought you knew it was fun.'
'I thought it was love you meant.' 'Well, it's done.' 'Yes, it's done.
I've seen boys stone a blackbird, and watched them drown
A kitten... it clawed at the reeds, and they pushed it down
Into the pool while it screamed. Is that fun, too?'
'Well, boys are like that... Your brothers...' 'Yes, I know.
But you, so lovely and strong! Not you! Not you!'
'They don't understand it's cruel. It's only a game.'
'And are girls fun, too?' 'No, still in a way it's the same.
It's queer and lovely to have a girl...' 'Go on.'
'It makes you mad for a bit to feel she's your own,
And you laugh and kiss her, and maybe you give her a ring,
But it's only in fun.' 'But I gave you everything.'
'Well, you shouldn't have done it. You know what a fellow thinks
When a girl does that.' 'Yes, he talks of her over his drinks
And calles her a--' 'Stop that now, I thought you knew.'
'But it wasn't with anyone else. It was only you.'
'How did I know? I thought you wanted it too.
I thought you were like the rest. Well, what's to be done?'
'To be done' 'Is it all right?' 'Yes.' 'Sure?' 'Yes, but why?'
'I don't know, I thought you where going to cry.
You said you had something to tell me.' 'Yes, I know.
It wasn't anything relly... I think I'll go.'
'Yes, it's late. There's thunder about, a drop of rain
Fell on my hand in the dark. I'll see you again
At the dance next week. You're sure that everything's right?'
'Yes,' 'Well, I'll be going.' 'Kiss me...' 'Good night.' ... 'Good night.'

Here And Now
this i've noticed of late
that my self is weary
trying to tune itself
to hear those
distant melodies
the ears long for
a melody tuned
here and now
this i've noticed of late
that this skin is weary
of imagined caresses
and longs a tryst
even if it meant
a passing touch
of the little finger
but here and now

Catatonica
As our duet of love, a performance shown, is put upon display for vulgar eyes on the floor; the lights change with painted overlooks splashing their palette of watercolours over our moving bodies.
To the beat we dance, our tune a virgin, for the tune's beat that we dance to is no longer a mere dance away, our dance must fly with this tune in time with the tune's beat and in beat with our dance that we synced to this tune.
We tune our bodies in, tune them perfectly together with not just the beat and our dance, but with each other's minds and each other's hearts.
Within our thin, weak, skinny minds our thoughts think their own thoughts, deeper within our thought's tune and beat it dances inside a caved-in thought of the thinking tune's rhythmic beat timing itself to our dance.
Matching in the sky, our steps amaze, no tune can support us on its waves of notes and colons and no beat can out-beat us in it's own tragedy of percussion.
Our dance is a shaman of ritual love, packaged under the moon's eye for all to see and admire in its own tunefully-beating-dancing light.
We are going to dance forever, dance until there's no dance left in us, dance until our blood mixes with each others and our soul's diseases decay with one another's and we become the dance.
The tune we create in our minds is that of purity, no one will hear this tune except for us. Me and You.
The beats will never fade, no stamp stopped too sincerely, no stomp slacking too slowly.
We're going to dance, we're going to dance, we're going to dance. We're going to dance to our own beat, to our own tune, and to our own love.

Aunt Dorothy's Lecture
Come, go and practise—get your work—
Do something, Nelly, pray.
I hate to see you moon about
In this uncertain way!
Why do you look so vacant, child?
I fear you must be ill.
Surely you are not thinking of
That Captain Cameron still?
Ah, yes—I fear'd so! You may blush;
I blush for you, my dear;
And it is scarce a week ago
Since Gerald brought him here—
The day he fell in the hunting-field,
And his pretty horse was lamed.
O child—and with your bringing up!
You ought to be ashamed.
Last night I saw you watching him,
And you danced with him thrice;
You turn'd quite red when he spoke to you—
Such manners are not nice.
You, Nelly Gray, should not be seen
(I don't wish to be harsh)
Running wild, like the servant-girls,
For a red coat and moustache.
Not that he isn't a gentleman
From spur to shako-brim—
I know good blood when I see it—yes,
I will say that for him.
He does not swagger, nor lisp, nor flirt—
Has none of those vulgar ways;
And he does not talk like a stable-boy,
As the fashion is nowadays.
In fact, I admire him very much—
My dear, you need not fret—
I do; he's very different from
The rest of Gerald's set.
He's very handsome, certainly—
I don't mind saying so.
He reminds me a bit of your uncle, when
I met him long ago.
He had a silky, long moustache
Of just that golden shade;
And broad Greek brows, with a tint of bronze,
That Indian suns had made.
He was a soldier, too, you know—
As big and strong and tall:
He'd just come home when I saw him first
At Lady Talbot's ball.
I remember when we were introduced;
By stealth I look'd him o'er—
Such haughty, indolent, gentle eyes,
I never saw before!
I felt so strange when he look'd at me;
I cannot tell you why—
But I seem'd to feel he was mine, to keep
And love, till I should die.
'Twas very odd—in a moment, too,
Before I knew his name!
But, Nelly—O how the world was changed
And brighten'd, when he came!
I was so restless all that night;—
I did not want to see,
I felt where he moved about the room
While he was away from me.
I was jealous—I could not help it,
Although I struggled hard—
Of the other girls, whose favour'd names
Were written on his card;
They were so rich, and I was poor;
They were so grandly dress'd,
And I so dowdy; and yet, and yet,
I thought he liked me best.
The last long hour he danced with them,
And oh I miss'd him so!
And then I heard our carriage call'd,
And I knew that I must go.
A big lump rose up in my throat
That I could hardly bear;
But, passing through the vestibule,
I saw him standing there.
I knew not where he came from,
But I felt no surprise
When he look'd down from his stately height
With his grave and quiet eyes,
And held his hand for a mute good-night
That said all words could say;—
Ah, love! he made me happy then
For ever and for aye.
Well, well,—but this is nonsense;
How I am running on!—
His golden hair grew thin and grey,
And now he's dead and gone.
There, go and dress for dinner, child;
It's getting late, you see;
And—perhaps I'll ask young Cameron
If he'll come in to tea.

A Whistling Tune
(words & music by edwards - david)
Did you ever notice when the sun goes down
Out of nowhere comes a strange and pretty sound
Its a whistling tune for walking in the night
If you listen you can hear it in the breeze
Specially when the breeze is drifting through the trees
Its a whistling tune for walking in the night
And the murmuring waters sing the song
The echoing mountains hum along
The whispering valleys fill the air
With a whistling tune our hearts can share
Its so wonderful to walk beneath the moon
Listening to old mother natures favorite tune
Its a whistling tune for walking in the night
