My time is short.

My time is short I'm growing old.
The years pass by so speedily
Each day is worth much more than gold.
I greet each morning thankfully.

But time moves on remorselessly
.Although my memories enfold
My youthful days effortlessly.
My time is short I'm growing old.

Long ago when young and bold
I faced the future fearlessly
Perceptions changed as I grew old.
The years pass by so speedily.

I made my way successfully
And I grew rich as I grew old.
But life experience has taught me
Each day is worth much more than gold.

Time - cannot be bought or sold.
Time must onward steadily.
As the passing years unfold
I greet each morning thankfully

I've learned the only certainty.
Applying to both young and old
Both must accept reality.
My future can now be foretold.

My time is short Monday,16 April 2012

Be Young ... Life is short

The years pass as quick as we grow old
Grow old my foot as I might say so bold,
Speak for yourself [that voice in my head]
Don’t listen to what your brain is fed,
There is no excuse for being old today
Then wearing a ‘T’ shirt that doth say,
‘I’m retired an’ know a lot old and new
I’ve lots of time to tell it all to you’.
So its walks and yoga every day
Exercise and vegies keeps you from fading away,
Growing old is a war we all know that
Give in to nought and you’ll just get fat
Think young act young be young,
Life is short, we all die young!

Getting Old

When you’re young you think you know it all
Then you get old and life begins to unfold.
In their youth they don’t think ahead
The future is something they do not dread.

They feel that everything in life they can control
They’re young and strong and very bold.
Aaaah! Those beautiful days bring back memories
Of how simple life used to be.

Youth had respect for the elderly
And their fellow man.
Now the elderly they try to scam.

When they are older they will see
They want respect and to live with dignity.
they are young and they don’t seem to understand
That with age you may need a helping hand.

Everything in life comes in stages
It’s like a book when you turn the pages
It gets deeper and keeps you enthralled
Until the time that you reach the end
And you’ve lost all your family and friends.

The First stage is when you are a child
And someone is taking care of you for that while.
The Second stage is when you become a teen
And you feel like a king or queen.
You feel that you can not get old
This is what you believe at this stage in your life
Because you’re not looking at the struggles and strife.
The Third stage is the adolescent years
And you feel you’re in control and lose your fears.

The final stage is when you become old and gray
And your youthful years have slipped away.
You look back and ask yourself!
where did All those years go?
Why did I waste so much time?

And the most important thing is
That I am so glad I made you mine
For with you by my side I had a life divine.

So to the youth who have not gotten to this stage
Don’t get angry, and get rid of your rage.
There is no way to turn back the time
For time just moves straight ahead
You’re getting to the point that you now dread.

WELCOME TO OLD AGE! HA-HA

March Of Time

Hours of lust, hours of tears passing by before my eyes
Today, tomorrow, yesterday. . .one life
Days of joy, day of sadness come and go to pass me by
A month, a year, one hundred years, they fly
Bridge: ohh, one day I will be gone to lead another life
Ohh, and this world will stop to turn around with me
cause
Chorus: time. . .marches
Time. . .marches
On without us all, never stops, yes
Time. . .marches
Time. . .marches
On and on and on, flies eternally
Times of peace, times of fights, constant movement is our life
Cant stop no more, not until. . .we die
We long for more. . .eternity, and maybe theres another life
This one is short, no matter how you try
Bridge: ohh, but never give up all the hope to lead a good life
No, dont waste your given time to make things worse
Chorus: time. . .marches
Time. . .marches
One without us all, never stops, yes
Time. . .marches
Time. . .marches
On and on and on, flies eternally
Plese, please help me see, the best way to be
Make a change and we, live eternally
No more wasted years, no more wasted tears
Lifes too short to cry, long enough to try
Chorus: time. . .marches
Time. . .marches
On without us all, never stops, yes
Time. . .marches
Time. . .marches
On and on and on, flies eternally

The Shadows Fell

April was a lovely girl, her warmth was in her eyes
And she and I would walk within the calm of clear blue skies
Too short our time together, and what time consisted of
I knew her well, the shadows fell
See, April was my love...

A young man then, I knew the things a young man knows
But somehow lost it all with age, I guess that's how it goes
But April understood, and in time revealed to me
Reflection, my direction
And what April was to be...

She became to me the way to love's soothing caress
The answers to all questions, life and love, were met with yes
All that April showed to me, my heart still now believes
To take her place, her smiling face
April love, my heart still grieves...

Our time together had the look, forever on it's face
The hands of time stood still for us, in arm, and sweet embrace
It wasn't meant to be for us, nor I to have the sound
But she was singing, bells were ringing
As she felt the darkened ground...

Too soon my April left me, to some higher plane I'm sure
To wait for me to come someday, and reminisce with her
To tell me why each tear was lost, each April that I cried
As love turned to loss, inside the cross
When my April died...

Winter's breath blows hard upon her memory now
But I remember April, springtime love and lifetime vow
Sometimes I can feel her touch, and feel the gentle breeze
The days and nights, the wrongs the rights
There are many thoughts of these...

Many years ago now, April's love had held my heart
Too many days, and nights spent now without, but not apart
And I would trade my todays, for yesterday to be...
With April once again, and back to when
April was my love, you see.......

The Meaning Of Life Is Unique To Us All

When I was five I wanted to be ten,
How I longed to be a young man,
My mind would wander every now and then,
I wanted to be in the grown ups clan.

When I reached ten I thought of being twenty,
By then I'd be driving my car,
Time for the future, well I still had plenty,
Getting older was a distance too far.

Now I've hit twenty I've nothing to fear,
Time goes past so very slow,
I'm still a young man so I've nothing to fear
I've still got a long time to go.

Thirty years old and it's still not too bad,
I've a wife and children I love,
My health is good I love being a Dad,
My life is a gift from above,

The big four zero has finally come,
I now watch, as my parents grow frail,
The thought of that is making me feel numb,
To prevent it should be our holy grail.

I'm now in my fifties my children have flown,
This life can be really quite strange,
Back when I was five I wish I had known,
Growing older you cannot exchange.

Be careful what you wish for it may come true,
Take your time for life is too short,
Enjoy every minute, age you cannot subdue,
When young the facts you distort.

I'm now in my eighties how I wish I were five,
My time here has just flown by,
All those I loved would still be alive,
Now their memories still make me cry.

The moral is don't wish your life away,
Treat each living second as your last,
Enjoy your years every glorious day,
For in the blink of an eye it has passed.

Scientists spend billions asking why we exist,
Look outside, what you see will enthrall,
It is solely for living is the point they've all missed,

Torturous

In April - quite some time ago - her
mother died in a sea of flames, but
the wound is still raw, she cannot
forget how little time they spent
together

In April last year her partner died in an
accident that left her knee injured for
life; this April brought the death of his
mother also - my child, the only thing
left is trying to

Load the dice on your behalf, impossible
to know the cause of your torturous route
through a tragic life - by visualising future
happiness in meditation, I'm trying to
enlist the help

Of universal forces and love - to attract more
prosperity and joy for you; take shelter with
us as a safe refuge - start to focus on visions
that will lead to fulfilment of dreams…

****************************** ***

Carine's partner Nico died on 29 April 2011
and we have received word that his mother,
Katinka, died this morning 4 April 2012 -
and Carine's own mother Leonie also died
in April quite a few years ago - April has
become such a scary month for her; the
only recourse left for her stepmother is
to pray for her future happiness…

Life Is Too Short

life is too short
Music: rudolf schenker
Lyrics: klaus meine
Have you ever seen the morning?
When the sun comes up the shore
And the silence teach the beauty for the sound
Have you ever set there waiting?
For the time to stand still
For all the worlds and stars
From turning around
And you run
'cause life is too short
And you run
'cause life is too short
Have you ever seen the glory?
When the moon is on the rise
And the dreams are close
To the ones that we love
Have you ever set there waiting?
For heaven to give a sign
So we could find the place
Where angels come from
And you run (and you run)
'cause life is too short
And you run (and you run)
'cause life is too short
There's a time that turns
Turn back time
But i don't see i can
It only works
If you believe in the truth
But there's a time to live
And a time to cry
But if you're by my side
I will try to catch a star
I'll try to catch a star
Just for you
And i run
'cause life is too short
And i run (and i run)
'cause life is too short
And i run and i run and i run and i run and i run

A Journey in Life

Remember when. At an age so young,
When life was in the future,
And all your worries seemed so intent,
And disappointments flowed from a parents tongue

When your future only began at an age,
When you were allowed to drive a car,
Or date that someone older than you,
And you felt enclosed in a parent’s cage.

Then as you grew and your body matured,
Your future rushed in, with a sense of reality,
Where to go and what to do,
To give your life meaning, with a future assured,

Still to young to fully understand,
A parent’s wish, that you might become,
More successful in life and the path you choose,
To be better than theirs, that’s all they demand

Yet, as you age, with choices made,
Forks in the road, don’t always lead,
To the end result, and the goals intended,
For some forks are not, as they were portrayed.

Then as you grow, and time has passed,
With a family of your own with children to share
The experiences in life and the paths you took,
To guide them forward, with knowledge amassed

Just never, forget, you were once there,
At an age in life, when all was good,
And through out the years, with the passing of time,
You now understand why your parents were not fair.

Hindsight's such a wonderful thing,
All those I loved dearly would still be alive,
I'd be thinking of what the future might bring.

You must live for today forget tomorrow,
Just be thankful for being alive,
Though there will be joy as well as sorrow,
It's how we cope that makes us all thrive.

Life is precious don't ever wish it away,
When it's gone it becomes part of the past,
Enjoy your years every wondrous day,

Time Passing Me

Not sure if I’m coming or going
At times I’m happy for how my life has turned out
I feel like I’ve done so much In this short time
So young and yet I feel like my time is running out
This is the age where I should know where I’m going
Or know at least where I wanna be
My life is not the worst but I don’t like what I'm doing
Not sure if I’m coming or going
I feel like I’m just letting time pass me by
As the years pass what have I accomplished
Each and everyday I find myself Asking why
Why am I so confused In what I want to do
With so much I want to do but I’ve wasted so much time
So what will I do, when there feels like nothing to do
I know this is not a lost cause
I need to stop moving and thinking
and just pause.

The One Of The Future

The man of the future the babe of today
That's how it is and it has always been this way
When one generation is ageing one is in their prime
And the hands keep on turning of old father time
The mother of the future is crawling on the floor
To the human population numbers she will add more
Twenty years may seem a long time but time ticks on fast
And the time will come when she too will be seen as one of the past
'Tis true that the future belongs to the young
The praises of those in their twenties are so often sung
The one of the future is beginning to talk
And crawling on the floor before learning how to walk
The younger years seem for to tick quickly by
And on looking back time it does seem for to fly.

Time Time Time

Time time time
Make time, give time, take time out
Win time, cost time, the time of your life
Spend time, sell time, the good times and the bad
Kill time, zero time, all the time in the world

Time watch, time travel, time to begin
Time table, time square, can I fit you in
Time frame, time to go, time that you grew up
But tell me...
How do you feel?

Every Morning

My god the years have passed me by
where was I hiding
And then around the world for sometimes
it's a previous now

The morning sun is in my eyes
It doesn't hide the lies
It is not there
The great skies
Happy birthday baby
Happy birthday

Every morning
Every morning in time
we're doing fine
Every morning
Every morning in time
we're doing fine

I don't remember being you
Was it so much for me
I don't remember feeling this great
It was not for me

I paid the price
A sacrifice
It was worth than that

My time has come
I don't(?) feel young
Begin again
Happy birthday

Every morning
Every morning in time
we're doing fine
Every morning
Every morning in time
we're doing fine

Love Time (Love Poem)

Time passes in a mystery of minutes and months,
Days and nights a survival of solitude and sleep,
Life and living becomes an unending wait for Now.

Now is just a Technicolor rush of with you again,
But our time together always is impossibly short,
So that leaving you again gets harder every time.

Why is time a new variable with the one I love?
Why are the colours of love so warm for us now?
Why do Cupid’s arrows still draw blood so red?
Why are grey days bright and rainy days soft?
Why after all these years do I feel like this?
Why is time with you in too-short seconds?

If only our love stopped the earth turning,
We could love in a frozen second of time,

Forever.

No Time To Kill

Theres no time to kill between the cradle and the grave
Father time still takes a toll on every minute that you save
Legal tenders never gonna change the number on your days
The highest cost of livins dyin, thats one everybody pays
So have it spent before you get the bill, theres no time to kill
If wed known ten years ago today would be ten years from now
Would we spend tomorrows yesterdays and make it last somehow
Or lead the cheers in someone elses game and never learn to play
And see the rules of thumb are all the same that measure every day
The grass is green on both sides of the hill, theres no time to kill
No time to kill, even Ive said it and probably always will
But I can look ahead and see that time aint standin still
No time to kill but time to change the kind of hurry Ive been in
And quit this work and worry lookin back at where Ive been
If you dont look ahead nobody will, theres no time to kill
If we had an hour glass to watch each one go by
Or a bell to mark each one to pass, wed see just how they fly
Would we escalate the value to be worth its weight in gold
Or would we never know the fortunes that we had til we grow old
And do we just keep killin time until theres no time to kill
Repeat chorus twice
No time to kill
No time to kill
No time to kill

The Future Is The Children's

The future is the children's and I am of the past
And I too had my young years but nothing ever last
On looking back the Seasons how quickly the years have gone
Old age is fast approaching and the clock ticks on and on.

The future is the children's the children of today
They have the gift of youth with them though youth with them won't stay
On looking back decades from now when time has left them slow
They will wonder as I do where did the years to go.

The years are catching up one me and time has left me gray
And the future is the children's that would be true to say
The people in their sixties are running out of time
And few of them will be living when today's children are in their prime.

The future is the children's and to them alone belong
And those who will tell you differently have somehow got it wrong
But the hands of time keep turning and time on none does wait
And all of us are branded with an invisible use by date.

Morning, noon and nighttime

A baby crawling
A man surging to sex and moaning to his ecstasies
He is strong
He conquers
He forgets

Where he comes from where he is going
Why he is here

Time. Morning, noon, and nighttime
The seasons that it owns: spring, summer, autumn and winter
The rainy days, the sunny days, colder, warmer,
Freezing and melting,
Sunsets and sunrises

Sensations of time passing, how quick, how fickle
A click and there I am now fifty years old

A swinging of the cradle and how many swings were there
That I remember
And now I am seventy years old

How quick
How short

Time runs so fast, we always talk about the time that ran so fast
We haggle
Time is too short for what I am for where I am going and
For why I am here

It was something thrown and it does not return
Like a word that once was said

You were strong and so arrogant and so unkind

Now you are begging
Kneeling,
Bowing
Kissing time’s feet
Rises so humbly with the help of a cane
Trembling
For mercy
Compassion

There must be a way to an extension for some
Things to be finished for a mission to be accomplished
For such real reason why I am here

Why
I
Am
Here?

Time knows no regret Time does not explain
Alas!
A beggar does not choose and time is his most cruel master.

He does not even hand in some crumbs and
No drops of water
Time is silent and so secretive and it even
Wouldn’t have a word to say it remains unseen.

Alas!

Old Age Remembered

I never thought it would happen to me…
so, I wouldn’t have been reading this poem…

but now it seems it has. And now
I’m writing it. Or trying to. Big mistake?

So do I have
anything worth passing on?

You know, the Polonius Balonyus stuff:
If I were your age, boy,

this is what I’d be and do, yawn zzzz….
Let’s think instead, of some more lively head

in Sunday supplement style –
‘Old Age – Tragedy or Comedy? ’

It’s just so personal, and the only one
to really weigh it up is you. Or me.

I’m wiser, happier (on the happy days)
than ever in my life; but then, who cares?

Well, maybe one or two. On the other hand,
there are few illusions left;

would one have been glad
to have no illusions, at, say, twenty years of age?

Or, to be almost beyond pain, or pleasure,
or attachments of any sort -

this in some young man
taking his vows as monk,

would be a solemn commitment for a lifetime; but
when you’re old – easier or harder then to bear?

then, short-term memory shorter, long-term memory longer -
that's wonderful - provided you have no regrets...

the memories come flooding back
of just how happy, happy childhood is...

barely remembered now, how adolescence
is the most painful time of life...

To cut a long life-story short –
the comedy’s more comic; the tragedy’s more tragic.

So I wonder how Shakespeare, having studied both
and then thrown his books away,

living a comfortable (or was it?) Stratford retirement -
a spot of bowls, a friendly pub,

grandchildren, his or of his relatives,
to keep him young or tire him out or both -

I wonder what passed through his worldspanned mind
as he passed passing time? As his time passed?

The Alchemist And The Mouse

Once there lived an alchemist in a strange and distant land,
So wise and famous and revered, great power he did command.
For he could turn base metal in a flash to solid gold,
And so the alchemist grew rich, as he in years grew old.

The alchemist had riches, but a mortal man was he,
And came unto his house one day, a gypsy to foresee
His fortune with a crystal ball that showed his time was nigh,
So he a magic potion made, his own death to defy.

And when this potion to give immortality was made,
He took the potion to his lips, but then his hand he stayed,
For there his pet, a small brown mouse, was sitting on his knee;
He gave the mouse a sip and waited, the effect to see.

So time it passed, the mouse it thrived, so then he drank the brew.
Now safe from death, his fame increased, and so his fortune grew.
And so the years went by, he didn't age, always was well;
He and the mouse lived on, and to them nothing bad befell.

The centuries rolled on, his friends and relatives were dead.
In time the human race was gone as onward time it sped,
But even Earth is mortal, and at last the Sun grew tired;
The Earth became a cold dark rock, its spirit had expired.

And all was black, for only feeble starlight pricked the sky,
And silence reigned for there were only two who didn't die;
There gazing out to space, the last two tenants of the house;
The sad and lonely alchemist; by his side an ancient mouse.
