Day by Day
I think it is impossible
To recall ev’ryone you met
and also highly probable.
That some you’re happy to forget.
The first lover who broke your heart,
Imprinted deep in memory.
Though you suspected from the start,
this was a dream which could not be.
The petty boss that bullied you.
When you were young and powerless.
It’s odd but you recall him too.
Though not with any kindliness.
Yet good friends fade from memory
erased by quickly passing years
almost you’d think impossible,
You wonder if you’ve slipped from theirs.
Although you meant to keep in touch.
You never did too much to do.
I wonder does it matter
because they have forgotten too.
Par for the course I understand.
Although sometimes spontaneously
they come to mind; you can’t command
the actions of your memory.
The present matters not the past.
It is consigned to history,
the pace of life is far too fast.
To take time out for reverie.
We touch on others and affect
each other in some subtle way
That is the truth we must accept.
We really live from day to day.

Ofttimes enwrapt in reverie
I have a distant memory
but I cannot be sure it’s true
Of my mother who I barely knew.
She died so very long ago.
There is so much I do not know
I only know what I’ve been told
and that recedes as I grow old.
Although I try I can’t recall
her face: bring it to mind at all.
I feel I should be able to
but there is nothing I can do.
Sometimes I wake to find I’ve wept.
But I can do nothing but accept.
That time’s erased the memory
of the face I long to see.
Some faded photographs remain
which I look at, try to regain.
The memories I have repressed
It may be that it’s for best.
I was so young when mother died.
My wants and needs were satisfied.
By father and the family
and I grew up quite happily.
Would mother have been proud of me?
I she’d lived long enough to see.
The man her little boy grew into.
My mother who I barely knew.
Then I remember guiltily
my mother lost much more than me.
The grandchildren she’d never know
the chance to see her children grow.
But I still pursue selfishly
that one elusive memory.
That’s buried somewhere deep inside
A need that can’t be satisfied.
Perhaps because I’m growing old
and only have what I was told
to remember mother by.
I know I’ll fail but I still try.

What The Future Holds For Us
What the future holds for us we are not to know
But our past it goes with us to where-ever we go
Your best years in life to the forever gone
But your past in your memory it is living on
Many friends of your past you may never more see
But they do remain young in your memory
And for as long as the gift of memory you retain
Mental pictures of them with you will remain
But the present is what matter as some are known to say
And only in memory we have yesterday
And tomorrow at dawn the songbirds will sing
But who knows what tomorrow for us will bring
But we will live till we die like the sheep or the cow
And we only can live in the here and the now.

Faded photograph
A snapshot taken years ago.
Somewhat lacking clarity.
Of some young guys I used to know
In fact the skinny one is me.
The other two I can recall,
their faces well but not their names
Although I try nothing at all.
My memory is playing games
I wonder where they are today
I wonder if they remember me
The passing years erode away
your memories ability.
To regain any access to
some things you know that you once knew

Be ever enthused to be in touch with future
Be ever enthused to be in touch with future
Future
Philosophers say
Is an illusion
For each second that is in the coming
Is uncertain
Hazy and a mirage
Past is lost
And it is spilt milk
Nothing can be done
With the past
Each previous second is as past
As the previous century
They suggest
For keeping up with the pace of time
It would be wise
Not to dream of the future
And not to lament on the past
Enjoy the present
It is easier said than done
We keep busy thinking
Either about the future
Or keep grumbling with the past
Memory and acquired experience
Will not allow us
To thoughtfully digest
Events occurring at the present
It is also not debatable
The quality of the present second
Depends on
The quality of the efforts
Made in the previous second
Where we are and
What we are
All because of our
Struggle or otherwise
In the past
Past experience and
Our present standing
Take us where we will be tomorrow
It will not be unwise
To a dream a future
Matching our skills
And the present position
We often dwell in a future
That is not achievable
With our present standing
And our capabilities
Unrealized future
Makes us feel sad
Be ever be in touch future
As the present second only
Manifests itself as a future
Know what you do
Know what you have as means
To take you into
The dreamt future
A colourful future is not an impossible realm
To be scaled
If you take seriously the means
To be there
Your present actions
Are executed only
To be sure that
You are
There in that wonder tomorrow
That dream keeps you
Motivated in going ahead
That dream keeps you
On the path of learning
That dream keeps you
Innovating new solutions
That dream keeps you
Enjoy what you do
That dream keeps you
Enthused in living
That dream keeps you
Looking for opportunities for improvement
Be in touch with dream ever
And
Be ever enthused to be in touch with future
Though philosophically non-existent
Which only helps you realize your potential

I Dont Remember
I got no means to show identification
I got no papers show you what I am
Youll have to take me just the way that you find me
Whats gone is gone and I do not give a damn
Empty stomach, empty head
I got empty heart and empty bed
I dont remember
I dont remember
I dont remember, I dont recall
I got no memory of anything at all
I dont remember, I dont recall
I got no memory of anything
-anything at all
Strange is your language and I have no decoder
Why dont you make your intentions clear
With eyes to the sun and your mouth to the soda
Saying, tell me the truth, you got nothing to fear
Stop staring at me like a bird of prey
Im all mixed up, I got nothing to say
I dont remember
I dont remember
I dont remember, I dont recall
I got no memory of anything at all
I dont remember, I dont recall
I got no memory of anything
Anything at all
I dont remember, I dont recall
I got no memory of anything at all
I dont remember, I dont recall
I got no memory of anything
Absolutely anything at all
I dont remember

We Can’t Go Back
I wonder whatever became of such and such
It’s too many years since we’ve all been in touch
In our youthful naivety we were innocently un-clever
Assuming our ‘then’ would be our ‘now’ and ‘then’ forever
Our roads of life we traveled turned in all directions
Those traveled stops are now has-been recollections
We sometime recall fondly much of the past
The unfortunate facts are, ‘ the past just doesn’t last’
Yesterdays are history stored in our memory bins
Recalling good and bad times, all through thick and thins
A memory is engraved in our brain like a computer data track
‘But the past just doesn’t last’ and ‘We can’t go back’

Perfect person i adore, only perfect person i'm assured
If only I knew that, I’ll found a person like you,
my heart will be so happy, and my day comes into a
living legacy of the memory of every yesterday, and
as i leave the portal of today, the past comes the day
to remember the present of what was the moment of the
past, for only today that makes the meaning of what
is year after years gone
flaccidly leads me to what the dream comes, easy to
live in the abundance of the heart the soul speak and the
wreath of victory lingers in every moment of the past, a
happy memory shared and a joy wondered that leads to
master the hallucinating shooting star, where the
blissfulness of time settled in your alluring heart of
love
come and touch my peaceful harmony of rhythmic
passion, live the harpoon of the growing glows of living,
fear me not for I make you the queen of my trembling
honest life, the true and genuine truth of loving you, would
always stay in your everlasting memory of eternity
perfect me in your Heart, and the Spirit that loose…..tied
you in my Soul

Denial for M'Lady Ann Beard
Why do we choose to rationalise
odd happenings we can’t explain.
The evidence of our own eyes
we all deny time and again.
I think it highly probable because
we do not understand.
Believing it impossible
we just dismiss it out of hand.
We do not really want to know
so we discount the evidence.
Which shows or merely tends to show
some humans have an extra sense.
So we pretend in self defence
that ESP is sheer nonsense..

Intent and urge
Why at all the “why” should emerge?
When there is no pure intent or urge
Is it difficult to forget past and live in present?
Give enough of thoughts and readily consent
Past has to be buried but not altogether
It has to be in mind but should not bother
Learn from the past and plan for the future
As present will not push you in the past but make it sure
Gone is gone and can never be had
Until you come out of it and don’t feel sad
It may have many blots and shadows
Think of present and bright tomorrow
Nature is different and may remains so forever
It requires constant transformation for ever
Let the water flow in calm and peaceful river
Remember the past, live in present but plan however
Life is given to you not luck by chance
You give fresh look with purpose at once
It has glorious past with vivid memory for present
Utilize it as gift and consider it as heavenly sent
History can not be repeated
At once it can be created
Its root can be preserved and maintained
The future onslaught, if any, must be sustained
Time and tide waits for none
Once slipped from hand means gone
It will become past and a faint memory
No use to feel bad and express sorry
It will not knock you often
It is possible you may have all the chances again
“Fortune favors the brave” as saying goes on
If the beginning is good then half battle is won
You can have very good start even if poles are apart
Life is such an opportunity and can be enjoyed in part
It may witness fall and rise at certain level
You should have perfect goal to score and excel
It will be futile to think of impossible to become reality
Rather you must have clear instinct with ability
Self confidence is to be built up at desirable limit
You must pick the threads and finely knit
Leave it for others to judge your action
You can only evaluate and not offer the reaction
It will be better if you consolidate and learn through drawbacks
You may definitely go through even if so much is at stake
We have forgotten our caliber and ability
To lack self confidence is seen as drawback and disability
No one can succeed and achieve the aim
You may falsely leave under illusion and claim

Still She Cries
Tears that she kept from me
Somewhere theres broken dreams
Where love once used to be
All in a memory
With time we are forgiven
In time we will forget
I hear her voice in the night
Cries of joy
We were good... good...good...
I still recall how wed touch, how wed fall
We were good... good... good...
Tears that she kept from me
Someone she used to be
Forever yours then suddenly
One kiss she cant remember
I wish I could forget
I hear her voice in the night, cries of joy
We were good... good... good...
I still recall how wed touch, how wed fall
We were good... good...good...
Still she cries
Somewhere... still she cries
No one knows when lovers will walk away
I hear her voice, in the night
Cries of joy...
We were good... good... good...
All in a memory
Where our love once used to be
Good... good...

Useless, A challenge entry
The handbook isn’t written yet
that will teach me to forget.
The years of happiness we shared.
I have no doubt because we dared,
to accept that we were meant to be.
Bonded together as a pair
Because we matched so perfectly.
A partnership beyond compare.
There’s no hand book nor will there be.
In any language known to man,
which can erase your memory.
I am certain that nothing can
Of what use could a handbook be?
It won’t relieve my misery.

Sad but true
Sad but true
Sometimes love dies. Wiser to part
than to prolong the agony.
Better consign to history
the days when we could speak heart to heart.
Sometimes love dies.
Though we were happy at the start.
The passing years drove us apart.
The hurt we feel will always smart.
Sometimes love dies.
When did we start to drift apart.
Togetherness no longer part
of who we are or want to be.
it must remain a mystery.
Which is impossible to chart.
Sometimes love dies.

My Friends Back In My Prime Years
My friends back in my prime years I never did disown
It's just that I live far from them and apart we have grown
We drank and played football together but our separate ways we've gone
And we have forged new friendships and life of course goes on.
My friends back in my prime years may now look a bit gray
And they might not know me or I might not know them if by chance we met today
In my memory they have remained young but in reality
The years have left their mark on them as the years have left their mark on me.
Old father time the aloof one to anyone doesn't bow
And some of my friends of my prime years may be grand parents now
Perhaps they now are showing their age and time has left them slow
They could run fast as I recall some twenty years ago.
My friends back in my prime years I may now not recognize
For time leaves it's mark on all of us I've come to realize
I drunk beer with them in the pub and with them played football
And that was many years ago as I can well recall.

In The Making Of 'memory
dear friends,
how's your life?
it's been a while since I heard you laughed,
I, sometimes, dream of us so clearly,
in this making of 'memory'
our past days surely are beautiful,
the things keep our memory books so full.
the things we left unchanged are so many,
in this making of 'memory'
dear friends,
where have you been?
our day, our time,
do you still have that memory?
we live our lives now, differently.
we are, but for the making of another 'memory'

Power Failure
Tonight I write by candle light
I am forced to by circumstance
Although the light is not too bright
I find that it gives me a chance.
To compare my life style today
with what I recall from my youth.
Reluctantly I have to say
If I should tell the honest truth
The simple life of yesteryear
may be a pleasant memory.
I much prefer my life today.
I need a brighter light to see
Advancing years have dimmed my sight
I dote upon electric light.

I Gotta Find Peace Of Mind
I gotta find peace of mind... I gotta find peace of mind
He says it's impossible... But I know it's possible
He says it's impossible... But I know it's possible
He says there's no me without him... Please help me forget about him
He takes all my energy... Trapped in my memory
Constantly holding me... Constantly holding me
I need to tell you all... All the pain he's caused
Mmmmm
I need to tell you I'm... I'm undone because
Mmmmm
He says it's impossible... But I know it's possible
He says it's impossible without him... But I know it's possible
To finally be in love... And know the real meaning of
A lasting relationship... Not based on ownership
I trust every part of u.... Cause all that you say you do
You love me despite myself Sometimes I...
I fight myself I just can't believe that you.... Would have anything to do
With someone so insecure... Someone so immature
Ohh you inspire me, to be the higher me
You make my desire pure... You make my desire pure
Just tell me what to say... I can't find the words to say
Please don't be mad with me... I have no identity
All that I've known is gone... All I was building on
I wanna walk wit you, how do I talk to you?
Touch my mouth with your hands... Touch my mouth with your hands
Oh I wanna understand the meaning of your embrace
I know now I have to face... The temptations of my past
Please don't let me disgrace... will my devotion last
Now that I know the truth... Now that it's no excuse
Keeping me from your love... What was I thinking of?
Holding me from your love... What was I thinking of?
You are my peace of mind... That old me is left behin

Strolling down memory lane
Strolling down memory lane
Where the colors begin to fade.
Strolling down memory lane
Is where I want you to come along.
Strolling down memory lane
is a test of time and mind.
Strolling down memory lane
I won’t be afraid.
Strolling down memory lane
Is not lacking in color.
Strolling down memory lane
Is not a big bummer.
Strolling down memory lane
Not a storm in sight
Strolling down memory lane
is joy without bite.
A memory that I have created in my mind,
Stands the test of time.
Memories are like dream, a reflection of the past.
My memories can kiss my…
Ask me no questions I will tell you no lies.

Read 'em And Weep
Midnight, not a sound from the pavement
Has the moon lost her memory, she is smiling alone
In the lamplight, the withered leaves, collected my fee
And the wind begins to moan
Memory, all alone in the moonlight
I can smile at the old days, it was beautiful then
I remember the time I knew what happiness was
Let the memory live again
Daylight, I must wait for the sunrise
I must think of a new life, and I mustn't give in
When the dawn comes, tonight will be a memory, too
And a new day will begin
Burnt out ends of smoky days, the stale cold smell of morning
The street lamp dies, another night is over, another day is dawning
Touch me, it's so easy to leave me, all alone with the memory of my day in the sun
If you touch me, you'll understand what happiness is
Look a new day, has begun
Memory, all alone in the moonlight
I can smile at the old days, it was beautiful then
I remember the time I knew what happiness was
Let the memory live again

I do not KNOW but I suspect.
The world is not as we accept.
Reality is mutable,
we tend to see what we expect.
Although it seems impossible
I think it highly probable.
We do not really understand
what is and is not possible.
Although we try to make a stand.
The future we cannot command
We must allow for sudden change,
when fate decides to take a hand.
Then we must quickly rearrange
although in fact we find it strange.
The way we see reality
however limited our range.
We must admit reluctantly
that times are changing rapidly
Perhaps much faster than we think
as we approach maturity.
We may be standing on the brink
of abysses as black as ink
The end of all humanity.
Be jettisoned to downward sink.
Because we would not learn to see
That all men should live peaceably.
Another failed experiment
which must be erased completely

Guardian Angel?
I think I’m being haunted by
a female ghost who constantly
Appears to want to be with me
Although I can’t imagine why.
I ask her but she wont reply.
She seems afraid to meet my eye.
I think she thinks she and I
have shared some common history.
I see her as faint image.
A blurred impression from a page
of fashions from a bygone age
Or some actress upon the stage.
A misty figure clad in grey
stays close to me by night and day
I ask again but she won’t say
She cannot seem to stay away.
I don’t know who she is or was
and I will never know because.
She thinks I ought to know of course.
Which in itself should give me pause.
She only comes when no one is here.
I sense her presence drawing near
then hazily she will appear.
This silent ghost from yesteryear.
I see no reason for alarm
I know she does not wish me harm
In fact she has a certain charm.
Her quietness a healing balm.
Which soothes my mind and set me free
from all the noise which bothers me.
Incessantly and ceaselessly.
She offers quiet company.
She places no demands on me.
She is content apparently
to visit unobtrusively,
when she desires my company.
I do not know if she chose me
or I chose her subconsciously.
Sometimes I doubt my sanity
but she is very real to me.
Perhaps she’s just a fantasy
I’m well aware that she might be.
Or some forgotten memory
of someone who was dear to me.
My mother died when I was small
it could be her who I recall.
I have no memories at all
The passing years erased them all
