Blissful Ignorance
As I grow old to my surprise
I’ve slowly come to realise.
That every thing I thought I knew
is mostly if not all untrue.
The things which I was taught at school.
They too must succumb to the rule
that truths like fashions quickly change.
New truths emerge to re-arrange.
The currently accepted view
when new facts have been proven true
at an ever increasing rate.
I simply can’t keep up to date.
I do not let it worry me
I jog along quite happily.

Faith the Facts
Search out all things of good report.
Consider each one carefully,
things are not always as you thought.
As you will find most probably.
What you were taught to be the truth
is very often far from true.
Lessons taught you in your youth
by those you thought knew more than you.
As you mature you learn to see.
They taught you their own biased view
Which you examine critically
And then discard most as untrue.
Your old beliefs grow obsolete.
Examine all the evidence
New facts emerge though incomplete,
you then accept what makes most sense.
What you were taught no longer true.
You can’t rely on faith alone.
Although the clergy urge you to
Because too much remains unknown

To Her Highness
These here are the facts, very nearly true,
all about this lady I knew who
ate kale as though it was good for you.
And she seemed to be hardly mad at all,
but being less short than she was tall,
had more than a little way to fall.
So when she became not wholy sober,
one day in the month before October,
surprise, surprise, she toppled ober.
Was she simply so tight her gait got loose
from that old familiar juice abuse?
Or was she only a clumsy goose?
Or should the mother have taught her daughter
to be more erect and grow more shorter
and to eat less kale and drink more water?

All significant truths are private truths. As they become public they cease to become truths; they become facts, or at best, part of the public character; or at worst, catchwords.

Some Things 2
Some things get better with change
while others only get worse.
With some changes
a bad element move in
and spoils it for everyone.
Some things grow at a slow rate,
while others grow too fast.
Those that grow slowly
seem more pleasurable
than those that swell overnight.
Some things need to change,
while others really don’t.
When change happens
to the things that don’t
it looses its personality.

The Foggy, Foggy Blue
When I was a young man, I loved to write poems
And I called a spade a spade
And the only only thing that made me sing
Was to lift the masks at the masquerade.
I took them off my own face,
I took them off others too
And the only only wrong in all my song
Was the view that I knew what was true.
Now I am older and tireder too
And the tasks with the masks are quite trying.
I’d gladly gladly stop if I only only knew
A better way to keep from lying,
And not get nervous and blue
When I said something quite untrue:
I looked all around and all over
To find something else to do:
I tried to be less romantic
I tried to be less starry-eyed too:
But I only got mixed up and frantic
Forgetting what was false and what was true.
But tonight I am going to the masked ball,
Because it has occurred to me
That the masks are more true than the faces:
—Perhaps this too is poetry?
I no longer yearn to be naïve and stern
And masked balls fascinate me:
Now that I know that most falsehoods are true
Perhaps I can join the charade?
This is, at any rate, my new and true view:
Let live and believe, I say.
The only only thing is to believe in everything:
It’s more fun and safer that way!

Some Say
Some say we're never meant to grow up
I'm sure they never knew enough
I know the pressures won't go away
It's too late
Find out the difference somehow
It's too late to even have faith
Don't think things will ever change
You must be dreaming
Think before you make up your mind
You don't seem to realise
I can do this on my own
And if I fall I'll take it all
It's so easy after all
Believe me 'cause now's the time to try
Don't wait, the chance will pass you by
Time's up to figure it out
You can't say it's too late
Seems like everything we knew
Turned out were never even true
Don't trust, things will never change
You must be dreaming
Think before you make up your mind
You don't seem to realise
I can do this on my own
And if I fall I'll take it all
It's so easy after all
Some say we're better off without
Knowing what life is all about
I'm sure they'll never realise the way
It's too late
Somehow it's different everyday
In some ways it never fades away
Seems like it's never gonna change
I must be dreaming
Think before you make up your mind
You don't seem to realise
I can do this on my own
Think before you make up your mind
You don't seem to realise
I can do this on my own
And if I fall I'll take it all
It's so easy after all
Believe me, it's alright
It's so easy after all
Believe me, it's alright
It's so easy after all

No Thoughts
My mind is empty from thought
I am nowhere, I am everywhere, I am free
Of things that was once taught
I look and do not see.
I think about nothings, no thoughts
No feelings, no sight, no touch
I walked and mused on hidden truths
My awareness expanding so much.
There is no turning back
The illusion can never be true
When the veil is lifted
I will see my way through.
What is not real will not last
There's calm in the knowing
This time I have been waiting for
An incredible change that is flowing.

Irrelevant
The history we learn at school.
Is mostly untrue as a rule.
A rather biased point of view.
Recorded by the victors who,
in an attempt to justify
their actions are prepared to lie.
The losers cannot air their views
and so we have no chance to choose.
Which version is more accurate.
Which gives me confidence to state.
The rubbish taught as history,
should not be taken seriously
Not only probably untrue
it is distinctly boring too.

Beautiful Lies
Beautiful lies
Take us on the wings of might
Towards the skies infinite
And then dropp us on the heaps of truths-
Brutal truths buried.
Beautiful lies
Get painted on a marvelleous canvas of light
Against the background in twillight
And then shed the shadows of truths-
Barren truths ferried.
Beautiful lies
Send the beams of delight
In the dark chambers made of granite
And then surmount me with truths-
Nightmarish truths married.
Still in the thick coats of beautiful lies
I veil my frame when the Sun is on
And in the cradle of their rhymes
I find my sleep when the Fun is gone.

Strategian
He was a military man
who waxed the ends of his moustache
A man must look the best he can.
He thought it added real panache.
He always kept his hair quite short,
his lantern jaw shaved to the bone.
But his moustache or so he thought
was at its best when left alone.
It was his greatest pride and joy
It added something to his face.
He thought the ladies might enjoy.
With every whisker kept in place.
With moustache wax freshly applied
and just a hint of fine cologne.
He was completely satisfied
with what he tried and what he’d done.
The ladies did not seem to care.
About his well dressed upper lip
It seemed they would prefer it bare
for all his clever showman ship
Clean shaven men were all the rage.
The fair sex had the final say
So he shaved off his appendage.
The ladies always get their way.
A soldier knows when to retreat
and make a change to his campaign.
More preferable than face defeat.
it will always grow again.
When fashions change as fashions do.
He is a military man
But he can change his point of view
as quickly as the ladies can.

Forgiveness Is Not the Key
I look down at the people, I worry about their woes
I worry about their joys, their friends, their foes
I worry about their lives and the way they live it
I worry about their dreams and wonder if they’ll heed it
I worry about the tears I see running down their face
I worry about their lies they tell in this time and place
I worry about their truths that always hurt more
I worry about what they will definitely have in store
I look down at the people who never showed compassion
Who hate each other with the strongest passion
Who pushed me aside as though I were nothing
I wonder, do they care about anything?
I realise they treat each other as dirt
And they revel within all the hurt
Not one ever worried for me
I’m so glad that I can finally see
I refuse to worry or care about them and their petty ways
I will never again worry for their days
Because not one ever cared for me
Forgiveness is not the key
Not when I live life so lonely
I want to be loved only
For them I’ll never again feel woe
Because I’ll be nothing but their foe

Not All Truths Are Sweet
to sweet truths we toast
we clink the glasses
of clarity for they are
those that make us so alive
and those that make us fly
like blithe spirits
in the vast blue skies
but not all truths are sweet
those that are bitter
are also placed on our tables
and we too shall drink
them
but how?
shall i like you die
in an instant? without
bidding goodbye
to our loved ones?
no. I must take these
bitter truths
like i am a man
responsible
to a world of
compromises,
i too, i know, must
drink the bitter potion,
but slowly and gently
enough to
immunize me from
the venoms of stupor
& eventual death
gentle to myself
these bitter truths
cannot kill me
but must make
me stronger

Facts, according to my ideas, are merely the elements of truths, and not the truths themselves; of all matters there are none so utterly useless by themselves as your mere matters of fact.

As God Changes Another Heart
We cannot read between each line, for the power of God is divine,
When God enters another heart, from guessing we need to depart,
Every new believer, needs to grow, for the Truths of God to show,
And as the new believer grows; Truths to those about them shows.
It is The Spirit, not any of us, Who draws each one to Christ Jesus,
And as His Spirit begins to reside, God's changes will begin inside,
The heart of the new believer too, just like God did for me and you,
So as The Spirit moves their heart, changing Truths they will impart.
It's God's Spirit, Who will begin, sharing the changing Truths within,
As each believer shares the Truth, in being the Lord's saving proof,
Of a believer's spiritual change, sharing The Truth in Christ's Name,
The truth of just how and when, they, by God, became Born Again.
Encouraged by The Spirit of Christ, they will grow in their New Life,
As The Savior's New Creation, through the Power of His Salvation,
The very power that they received, when God's Truth they believed,
As they came to that saving faith, all by the power of God's Grace.
That Grace that'll help them grow, in the Truths they come to know,
Again, as one more blessed soul, allows The Spirit to take control,
Producing evidence in their life, of changes made by Jesus Christ,
As Christ alone, receives the glory, for yet another Salvation Story.
Never Said It Was Gonna Be Easy
Sometimes as I look backon the things I used to do
Rememberin' all the things I been through
I tell myself, should've known, as it seems we always do
But man, if I only knew
Chorus:
Never said it was gonna be easy
Days were long and the nights were neverending
Never said it was gonna be easy
But oh, I'd do it all again
People always told me, "You'd be better off in school"
Join the race, learn the golden rule
But music taught me so much more than I could ever sing
And man, I wouldn't change a thing
(Chorus)
So many nights I'd look to the sky
And wonder where I am
But nowhere in sight, I'm trying again
Tryin' with all my might ... never again
(Chorus)
Sometimes as I look back on the things I used to do
Rememberin' all the things I been through
I tell myself, should've known, it seems we always do
If I only knew
I'd do it all again
(Repeat Chorus & Fade)

I'm Not Worth Your Tears
my dreams are finally,
coming true,
more than I,
ever knew.
I never thought,
they'd come rushing down,
in this small,
little town.
But look at me now,
who do you see,
defiantly not the girl,
I used to be.
I've grown us so much,
in such a short time,
the only thing I know,
these dreams are mine.
You can't take them from me,
though I know you'll try,
but all you will see,
is me flying by.
I'm ready for the take off,
I'm ready to go,
promise you won't worry,
it's my time to grow.
I know you are worried,
about all the things,
but please don't cry,
because I'm spreading my wings.
I know how quickly,
things can go wrong,
don't think of that,
think of my song.
There's that one song,
which makes you think of me,
think of the joys,
then you'll see.
If anything happens,
I'm not worth your tears,
just be happy with my life,
and with my years.

The Place Of The Damned
please understand my friend
that to keep your sanity here
you need not scream
or kick or run wild around
the four corners of this
closed room of loneliness
between us there is nobody else
except perhaps your theory about
holding hands with your soul
the reflection of yourself in the mirror
you worship as though all these things
are holy and if holy must be true
this is the world of the damned
the inability of accept what is rightly there
staring before us
truths, truths, these are inevitable truths my friend
that we have been born lonely
and all the circumstances are nothing but laces
of the basket that they fill with fruits
and then we go back to the emptiness
and this we must face, this is the most reliable truth
of our being: we come here all alone, and alone we shall soon go.
