Army Brats Lament
I’m always outside looking in
at other folks togetherness.
I do not know where to begin
to cancel out my loneliness.
It seems I’ve always been alone
I am so shy I just pretend
that I am happy on my own.
I am afraid I might offend.
If I attempt to just take part
without someone inviting me.
So usually I must depart
nobody wants my company.
But not tonight: To my surprise
I am the focus of all eyes
and everybody welcomes me.
I’m inside where I want to be.
I’m on the inside looking out.
I see the world quite differently
No longer paralysed by doubt.
I am accepted readily.
So if you’re outside looking in
just try your best to catch my eye.
This is a battle you must win
don’t stay outside because you’re shy.
I’ve said farewell to loneliness
I am a player in life’s game
Just show a little friendliness.
and you can surely do the same.
A simple smile your passport to
the inside where you want to be.
It’s not so very hard to do
I managed it successfully.

What if I chose to be happy?
I wonder what if I chose to be happy
Will that make you smile?
What if I don’t show my pain?
Will it mean for you I am happy yet again?
If I don’t frown or brood or hide a rotten mood
Will you think that with me all is good?
Or what if I don’t do any of that

No pretences, act or self inflicted doubt

A simple smile
Everytime you look at me you see nothing but a simple smile
My smile hides all the pain i feel deep inside
My smile is a simple cover up to show people its going to be alright
But when there nobody is around me that smile turns into a frown and my pain comes out
With each day that passes that smile you see changed into so much pain and suffering behind a chamber
As i fall farther into this dark cold world of depression all you see is my simple smile
As i pretend that everything is normal with that simple smile that hides pain so very will
As i cry late at night hopeing nobody can hear my cries
As i simply smile and pretend to be joyfulness and happy my smile hides a deep secret of pain
As i walk by i flashing a smile at everybody as my soul disappear into that cold dark place
As my soul disappears into this dark place of depression and sadness
All my friends and family see a simple smile that lasted forever but only if they knew that deep inside me i was hurting.

A frosty morning; daylight repeals it, and I feel loneliness
on the eve of the day.

The Pains Of Loneliness
The pains are so deep that they’ve become rooted in me
Like a bottomless pit with no ending
Coming straight up without bending.
No relief do I see in sight, I try to make changes
But I fail in my plight.
The pains of loneliness are hard to bare
When you have no one with these to share.
Why does happiness turn and bear away?
Why can’t with me - it stay?
What have I done that this burden I must bare?
Why can’t I escape it?
I’ve had my fair share.!
My heart is heavy and about to burst
The only relief are the tears that flow from my eyes.
But how much am I supposed to cry?
I’m like an Easter bunny, savory and tempting
On the top, but hollow on the inside.
Like a ring of solid gold, but hollow
In the middle, and until it is filled
With a finger from a loving hand
It has no value that we can understand.
The pains of loneliness have followed me
For a very long time, and I’m ready to draw the line.
This being said: I will go on my way
And this loneliness will no longer stay.
