Hymn 126

Charity and uncharitableness.

Rom. 14:17,19; 1 Cor. 10:32.

Not diff'rent food, or diff'rent dress,
Compose the kingdom of our Lord;
But peace, and joy, and righteousness,
Faith, and obedience to his word.

When weaker Christians we despise,
We do the gospel mighty wrong;
For God, the gracious and the wise,
Receives the feeble with the strong.

Let pride and wrath be banished hence;
Meekness and love our souls pursue;
Nor shall our practice give offence
To saints, the Gentile or the Jew.

Hymn 131

The Pharisee and publican.

Luke 18:10ff.

Saints, at your heav'nly Father's word
Give up your comforts to the Lord;
Behold how sinners disagree,
The publican and Pharisee!
One doth his righteousness proclaim,
The other owns his guilt and shame.

This man at humble distance stands,
And cries for grace with lifted hands
That boldly rises near the throne,
And talks of duties he has done.

The Lord their diff'rent language knows,
And diff'rent answers he bestows;
The humble soul with grace he crowns,
Whilst on the proud his anger frowns.

Dear Father! let me never be
Joined with the boasting Pharisee;
I have no merits of my own
But plead the suff'rings of thy Son.

Sonnet: All Things Perish

All things must crumble to the soil some day,
The wind carrying it to a diff’rent place;
The mighty seas erode the land and bay;
Every man has to senility face!

All mountains, hills could flatten to be plains,
And plains may rise up as mounts overnight;
Someday, one must suffer too diff’rent pains;
Despite the Sun, man could lose much sunlight.

But actions could have bad repercussions;
We must think of the aftermath always;
Lasting peace comes only by discussions;
The face of earth- let not man ev’r efface.

All things ought to but naturally decay;
The Universe heeds to the Maker’s say.

Psalm 98 part 1

Praise for the gospel.

To our Almighty Maker, God,
New honors be addressed;
His great salvation shines abroad,
And makes the nations blest.

He spake the word to Abraham first;
His truth fulfils the grace;
The Gentiles make his name their trust,
And learn his righteousness.

Let the whole earth his love proclaim
With all her diff'rent tongues,
And spread the honors of his name
In melody and songs.

Hymn 118

Moses and Christ; or, Sins against the law and gospel.

John 1:17; Heb. 3:3,5,6; 10:28,29.

The law by Moses came,
But peace, and truth, and love,
Were brought by Christ, a nobler name,
Descending from above.

Amidst the house of God
Their diff'rent works were done;
Moses a faithful servant stood,
But Christ a faithful Son.

Then to his new commands
Be strict obedience paid;
O'er all his Father's house he stands
The sovereign and the head.

The man that durst despise
The law that Moses brought,
Behold! how terribly he dies
For his presumptuous fault!

But sorer vengeance falls
On that rebellious race,
Who hate to hear when Jesus calls,
And dare resist his grace.

Rent

(again... again... again... ooooh
(again... again... again... again... ...)
You dress me up, Im your puppet
You buy me things, I love it
You bring me food, I need it
You give me love, I feed it
And look at the two of us in sympathy
With everything we see
I never want anything, its easy
You buy whatever I need
But look at my hopes, look at my dreams
The currency weve spent
(ooooh) I love you, oh, you pay my rent
(ooooh) I love you, oh, you pay my rent
You phone me in the evening on hearsay
And bought me caviar
You took me to a restaurant off broadway
To tell me who you are
We never-ever argue, we never calculate
The currency weve spent
(ooooh) I love you, oh, you pay my rent
(ooooh) I love you, you pay my rent
(ooooh) I love you, oh, you pay my rent
Im your puppet
I love it
And look at the two of us in sympathy
And sometimes ecstasy
Words mean so little, and money less
When youre lying next to me
But look at my hopes, look at my dreams
The currency weve spent
(ooooh) I love you, oh, you pay my rent
(ooooh) I love you, you pay my rent
(ooooh) ooh, I love you, you pay my rent
Look at my hopes, look at my dreams
The currency weve spent
(ooooh) I love you, oh, you pay my rent
(ooooh) I love you, you pay my rent
Look at my hopes, look at my dreams
The currency weve spent
(ooooh) I love you, oh, you pay my rent
(ooooh) I love you, you pay my rent
(ooooh) I love you, you pay my rent (its easy, its so easy)
(ooooh) you pay my rent (its easy, its so easy)
(ooooh) you pay my rent (its easy, its so easy)
(ooooh) I love you (its easy, its so easy)

Diff'rent

It's a half diff'rent world in the sufferin' south...
Like the snuff-stained lip of your Grandpappy's mouth!
There's Dinner-on-the-Grounds with Daddy Long-legs
Crawlin' up and down Miss Ducey's deviled eggs!
Though the hair-dos change and the century has turned,
There are flies unswatted and crosses unburned...
Foghorn-Leghorn preacher spews hate around-the-clock,
And all his prayerful hens seem spellbound by the cock.
'Sir, are you implyin'? Best wash that dirty mouth! '...
Try some soap for supper in your sufferin' south!
Hear the porch-swing slander: a mother-in-law tongue...
The homophobic germs are passed down to her young.
The buttermilk biscuits, the bloated home-town pride,
The sport of queer-bashin'... the gay-teen suicide.
But drunk/horny jocks know 'a-mouth-is-still-a-mouth'...
In the whole diff'rent world of my sufferin' south!

The Book of Romans

Romans was written for us by Paul, as he would heed The Lord’s call,
To be a light to each Gentile nation, beaming light of God’s Salvation,
Romans, was from Paul an epistle, to show to the Romans God’s will.
Paul wrote about God’s Righteousness, far exceeding man’s holiness,
A righteousness that men receive, when in the Savior, we truly believe.

Paul had made a personal choice, and by obedience he would rejoice,
Choosing to be a servant to Him, our Lord who saved him from all sin,
Through the Spirit, he’d receive, a letter he wrote, for all who’d believe,
The Good News of God’s Gospel, was explained by Paul the Apostle,
So the epistle was written to all, for inspiration, as we heed God’s call.

Written to the early Roman Church, some, maybe on a spiritual search,
Even for those who Paul had heard, were living a new life in The Word.
A church that truly found their place, as believers in this Age of Grace,
Living for God, they all had grown, and their faith by many was known,
And that great change in their life, was understood, to be Jesus Christ.

Written for encouragement to us, who in Christ, have placed their trust,
Penned to strengthen our foundation, and our knowledge of Salvation.
A challenge meant for you and me, men saved at the Cross of Calvary,
To be like those believers of Rome, pointing others to an eternal home,
Reaching out until all have heard, the Gospel Truth, out of God’s Word.

Helping believers to be zealous for, The Lord, Who reigns forevermore,
Who came into this world of strife, to grant all who believe Eternal Life,
Equipping all of the saints of God, to live out their faith upon this sod,
Living out everything that we learn, while we await Jesus Christ’s return,
When He will change believers instantly, to live with their God Eternally.

Mariya The Preacher!

Mariya is a wondrous name!
Her face is sweet and kind...
Her heart, of course, is just the same!
Her mind is quite refined...
She preaches here, she preaches there,
Lost souls still need the Lord...
And when the Lord hears her in prayer,
He grants a new reward...

She proclaims a new beginning,
She sets her sights again
And her faith helps in the winning
Of lost souls now and then...
Compassion is the means by which
Evangelists reach out,
As if to help lost souls to switch,
The day they lose their doubt...

How wonderful it is to see
Mariya day-by-day,
For when she speaks of Calvary,
What more is there to say?
And yet our Lord has conquered death,
He lives in Christians now...
He is Jesus of Nazareth,
To whom all Christians bow...

Mariya has the Lord to praise
For blessings great and small
And yet for His amazing grace,
We ought to give our all...
So preach the Word and reach the lost!
Mariya hopes you will...
Because Lord Jesus paid the cost,
Mariya preaches still...

Hymn 94

Justification by faith, not by works.

Rom. 3:19-22.

Vain are the hopes the sons of men
On their own works have built;
Their hearts by nature all unclean,
And all their actions guilt.

Let Jew and Gentile stop their mouths
Without a murm'ring word,
And the whole race of Adam stand
Guilty before the Lord.

In vain we ask God's righteous law
To justify us now;
Since to convince and to condemn
Is all the law can do.

Jesus, how glorious is thy grace!
When in thy name we trust,
Our faith receives a righteousness
That makes the sinner just.

I, Once, Dreamt a Dream

I, once, dreamt a dream that dreamers oft dream
Of loving and living a lovely life
A house, my children and a caring wife
I, once, dreamt a dream that dreamers oft dream

Oh, how I long to dream that dream again
Where hope solemnly sought for nothing more
Than to find her standing there, at my door
Oh, how I long to dream that dream again

How do dreams die... Do they ever revive
How does one learn to trust the coming day
When the past keeps trust an arms length away
How do dreams die... Do they ever revive

I, once, dreamt a dream that dreamers oft dream
Oh, how it seemed closer than dreams oft seem

I lived a dream once upon a daydream
We'd walk slowly through the park holding hands
Speaking so sweetly and making our plans
I lived a dream once upon a daydream

I lived a love once when a love loved me
I knew her in ways that only I knew
I was the first among her chosen few
I lived a love once when a love loved me

In one heartbeat she chose a diff'rent path
Oh, how could she leave without one last kiss
I often wonder if love still exists
In one heartbeat she chose a diff'rent path

I lived a dream once upon a daydream
Oh, how it seemed closer than dreams oft seem

Fountain of Never-Ceasing Grace

Fountain of never ceasing grace,
Thy saints’ exhaustless theme,
Great object of immortal praise,
Essentially supreme;
We bless Thee for the glorious fruits
Thine incarnation gives;
The righteousness which grace imputes,
And faith alone receives.

Whom heaven’s angelic host adores,
Was slaughtered for our sin;
The guilt, O Lord was wholly ours,
The punishment was Thine:
Our God in the flesh, to set us free,
Was manifested here;
And meekly bare our sins, that we
His righteousness might wear.

Imputatively guilty then
Our substitute was made,
That we the blessings might obtain
For which His blood was shed:
Himself He offered on the cross,
Our sorrows to remove;
And all He suffered was for us,
And all He did was love.

In Him we have a righteousness,
By God Himself approved;
Our rock, our sure foundation this,
Which never can be moved.
Our ransom by His death He paid,
For all His people giv’n,
The law He perfectly obeyed,
That they might enter heav’n.

As all, when Adam sinned alone,
In his transgression died,
So by the righteousness of One,
Are sinners justified,
We to Thy merit, gracious Lord,
With humblest joy submit,
Again to Paradise restored,
In Thee alone complete.

Our souls His watchful love retrieves,
Nor lets them go astray,
His righteousness to us He gives,
And takes our sins away:
We claim salvation in His right,
Adopted and forgiv’n,
His merit is our robe of light,
His death the gate of heav’n.

Today... 'The Word

Word of love and the Word made flesh
Word incarnate forever blessed
Word of life and the Word of light
Word of power and Word of might.

Word that was spoken, Word of the Lord
Word of the Law and the Word of God
Word of peace and Word eternal
Word of truth and last Word of all.

Word of wisdom and the Word of healing
Word from heaven, a Word so appealing
Word fulfilling the Word of prophecy
Word of the Spirit and Word of destiny.

Word of exhortation and Word of grace
Word of encouragement and Word of faith
Word of promise and a Word of insight
Word from the beginning and Word of delight.

Word of knowledge and a Word of boldness
Word of peace and the Word of righteousness
Word of the covenant and Word of love
Word of the Father from heaven above.

Psalm 19 part 1

The books of nature and scripture.
For a Lord's-day morning

Behold, the lofty sky
Declares its Maker God,
And all his starry works on high
Proclaim his power abroad.

The darkness and the light
Still keep their course the same;
While night to day, and day to night,
Divinely teach his name.

In every diff'rent land
Their general voice is known;
They show the wonders of his hand,
And orders of his throne.

Ye British lands, rejoice,
Here he reveals his word;
We are not left to nature's voice,
To bid us know the Lord.

His statutes and commands
Are set before our eyes;
He puts his gospel in our hands,
Where our salvation lies.

His laws are just and pure,
His truth without deceit,
His promises for ever sure,
And his rewards are great.

[Not honey to the taste
Affords so much delight,
Nor gold that has the furnace passed
So much allures the sight.

While of thy works I sing,
Thy glory to proclaim,
Accept the praise, my God, my King
In my Redeemer's name.]

Sonnet: God Is One and Only Omnipotent One

All things take care of themselves in this world;
No worrying changes course of anything;
A few things occurring sound rather weird;
God will decide the fate of poor or king!

Even the freak of things is as per laws;
Man can't decipher many things on earth;
Through Nature, God controls all things as Boss!
God permits abortions and test-tube birth!

Why God allows unfairness to thrive then?
His thoughts are not like man's but much diff'rent;
Our ways are not like His and of heaven;
Man tries to be foolish, belligerent!

The Master of the universe is Lord
Of things, unseen and seen, and keeps His word!

The Christian Kingdom of Love

Blessed is the soul that's born again,
Cleansed by the Blood of Christ,
That mighty flood that teaches men
How much God sacrificed.
Lord Jesus chose the Cross to bear,
His destiny to face...
In answer to each sinner's prayer,
To save the Human Race...

That's why today the Gospel's taught
In Israel and beyond
And why today that we are bought
With Blood when we respond...
And so God's Kingdom must increase
With every passing week,
A million more God can release,
If we, lost souls, would seek.

It's by God's Word that faith can grow
Just like a mustard seed,
Until one day the world will know
How much God's love we need...
In word and deed, let's be a voice
In every wilderness,
So that lost souls can make the choice
That brings God's happiness!

Labor Of Love

Our service is a labor of love, as we witness for God above,
Here, there and everywhere, while the Gospel Truth we share,
Through the witness of our life, for The Savior, Jesus Christ,
Hoping that others shall see, for our Lord, a living testimony.

As God moves on the world, His Light, our lives must herald,
Seeing a change within our life, in this world where sin is rife,
That others see that Light within, our lives in this world of sin.
The light from the Lord above, as we share our Savior's Love.

In this world so cold and dark, we must be for Christ a spark,
Of The Lord's Truth and Light, in a world where wrong is right,
Turning some from wickedness, to The Lord's Righteousness,
Righteousness that will prevail, that, wicked men today assail.

We can lead the wayward back, to righteousness under attack,
By the liberal minds of today, men who went spiritually astray,
Moving the wayward onto a path, that will see righteous wrath,
God's righteous judgment friend, is what they'll see in the end.

We must be the Savior's light, pointing all from wrong to right,
In this world, so dark and cold, so The Lord, they may behold,
And like many humbled men, come to God and be born again,
Humbled friend, to by faith, accept The Savior's Saving Grace.

Psalm 4

v. 1-3,5-7
L. M.
Hearing of prayer.

O God of grace and righteousness,
Hear and attend when I complain;
Thou hast enlarged me in distress,
Bow down a gracious ear again.

Ye sons of men, in vain ye try
To turn my glory into shame;
How long will scoffers love to lie,
And dare reproach my Savior's name?

Know that the Lord divides his saints
From all the tribes of men beside;
He hears the cry of penitents,
For the dear sake of Christ that died.

When our obedient bands have done
A thousand works of righteousness,
We put our trust in God alone,
And glory in his pardoning grace.

Let the unthinking many say,
"Who will bestow some earthly good?"
But, Lord, thy light and love we pray;
Our souls desire this heav'nly food.

Then shall my cheerful powers rejoice,
At grace and favors so divine;
Nor will I change my happy choice
For all their corn, and all their wine.

Pride will push you into mire
so to wise counsels pay heed.

Cremate your envy on pyre
