It is tedious to tell again tales already plainly told.

Telling Tales To Tattle

Tales tattled and told to sell or barter,
Are not the ones recommended to be eager to keep.
Not if the telling of them make the innocent weep.
Since resentments kept can grow deep.
And the price one pays for telling tales to tattle,
Has a way to come back to rattle one's peace...
In a way that the teller had wished never altered,
To utter as told to sell to be sold.

Wells Of Truth

Tell me
tales of truth.

Truth is as
elusive as water
in oceans of
Arabian desert sand.

Truth may be
soaked up totally
in a desert of
whispered words.

Truth may be
washed away totally
by a torrent river of
well told lies.

Truth may be
blown away totally
in a blizzard storm of
orchestrated misinformation.

Tell me tales of truth
told throughout history!

I will listen well
intently to your stories of
culturally half sun baked
studied scholastic lies.

Dead Men Tell No Tales

They say that dead men tell no tales!

Except of barges with red sails
And sailors mad for nightingales;

Except of jongleurs stretched at ease
Beside old highways through the trees;

Except of dying moons that break
The hearts of lads who lie awake;

Except of fortresses in shade,
And heroes crumbled and betrayed.

But dead men tell no tales, they say!

Except old tales that burn away
The stifling tapestries of day:

Old tales of life, of love and hate,
Of time and space, and will, and fate.

I have very happy memories of fairy tales. My mother used to take me to the library in Toronto to check out the fairy tales. And she was an actress, so she used to act out for me the different characters in all these fairy tales.

Love The Lie

He weaves tales
Of love and romance
But his own heart
Is broken
And lost
No luminescent
In his black
Lifeless eyes
Could love no more
Then the love
Reaper took from him

So he told himself this
I will be alone
Till death take me
To presence
Of my parted truth

But his heart has healed
And he refuses to believe
That once again
His heart chose
His path

So he weaves his tales
Of love and romance
To hide from his
Bleeding heart
And realize
He has begun to love the lie

Since Sheep They've Been

They want their leader to fail.
For reasons not as obvious,
As demons who tell tall tales.
Demons who wish,
Their created decadence prevails.

And if he should fail,
Unfortunately...
So does everyone,
In the entire country.
You see...
He is their first leader with integrity.
And all of those around the world...
Can see this very clearly.

And the truth he tells,
Conflicts with those who have told tall tales.
And a defeat is all they accept they will receive.
Since sheep they've been in accepting fear to believe.

'But those interests that are ours are the best in the world! '

~Which ones are the most envied?
And why are others pleading for you to leave?
Except for your leader,
Who is treated as if he is royalty!
Have they been fed on deceit as well? ~

FairyTales

I once believed
in fairy tales.
That love was true
and never failed.
But wisdom comes
with such a price.
Love was stolen
by a treacherous sprite.
I wish I could still believe
in fairy tales.
About Little Boy Blue
and all the tales
But at some time
before you die...
Reality sets in
and you wonder why...

You ever believed...

My Friend Oliver

My name is Roberts,
a reporter I used to be;
until one day I was sent to interview
an interesting man
whose name was Oliver Cyriax.

It was many year ago
that I first met him
and much to my surprise
he asked me to be his official biographer.

He stood against a fireplace
with his briar pipe in his hand.
He then went to tell me
stories from distant lands.
He wasn’t adventurer, but a ghost hunter of sorts.

I sat there in amazement
at all the things he said.
Those stories weren’t for recording,
at least not yet.
They were told to explain to me
of the kind of life he lead.

His career if you want to call it that
started in the middle 1800’s
on a Tramp Steamer
and lasted for more than half a century.
The strange things he saw
at times made my blood run cold.

He seemed a very quiet man
who was content with his life.
He did not appear to be someone
you would expect for the job that he did.

He smiled when he spoke
of a couple of amusing tales
he had been involved in
and looked sad at others
which had taken something from his life.

He related tales of horror,
which made you, shiver when he spoke.
He related tales of mystery
of which some were never to be solved.
He told me how he had lost friends
with their encounter with the unknown.

When he finished speaking,
I told him I would be honoured
to become his official biographer.
Therefore, started a thirty odd year friendship
that I hoped would never end.

From time to time, we would meet
and fresh new stories he would tell,
right up until the time
he retired and moved away.

I got a letter yesterday
to say he was happy now.
He was far away
from any ghostly goings on.

I write this as an introduction
to a character I’m going to write about
as I delve into his casebook
and tell the world
about the strange things that he did see.

Road Back From Merryland

A journey with a course of achievements
A road most traveled but obstacles too much
Too, much to behold and count as normal
A visit thence met hearts of wonders
Minds to rethink and tongues to salivate
Coz ti’s a tale to talk over this travel

The journey from Merryland began after sundowner
Shortly after chicken visited their roost for the nights rest
Birds having sang their last night’s choral choir song
The wolves ready themselves to trod the dark night
And as the stray dogs hunt trampled hares and antelopes
Before Merryland tales are told out loud and clear.

By donkey or oxen, the journey must be taken
A journey worth it began with amusements
First was no means, second, means availed but to where?
Means destined to Cheeryland, that land of nightmares
But will the travelers reach home on time?
On time before tales of Merryland are told out?

Decided to take the triple trip back home
But wonders will never cease to exist
Was almost stranded in the middle of nowhere
But salvation came on time to rescue the travelers
And by leading hand of iron and steel lead
Before recital time of tales of Merryland reaches

As journey advanced away from Merryland
More evils were to be met and viewed
All the sightings, but ten in all,
T’was a journey to call a journey of ages
Coz back at last to our roots and roost
Roots where toddlers cuddle in their nests
Coz it is a time for tales of Merryland to be recited.

Should Have Never Told Me

You should have never told me
That you love me
You should have never told me, told me, told me
That you care
Ever since that day I saw your lovely face
You were on my mind
I knew that one day I would make you love me
It was just a matter of time
Every night and every day, girl
Im thinking of you
Girl, I cant believe youre mine
Way you kiss, youre right on time
Should have never told me
That you love me
You should have never told me, told me, told me
That you care
If by chance I owned the whole world
Id give it to you
All Im trying to say
Love you through and through
Girl, lets stay together for life
cause you are my sugar and spice
Should have never told me
That you love me
You should have never told me, told me, told me
That you care
Naw, baby
Oh, baby
Should have never told me
That you love me
Should have never told me, told me, told me
That you care
Should have never told me
That you love me

Spin Doctors for friend alex

In days of yore long, long before
the spoken word took written form.
The Bards, the guardians of the lore.
In Great Men’s halls they would perform.

Their epic tales from history
to entertain the listening host.
With tales of war and mystery
and heroes which their race could boast.

Each teller added something to,
adjusted what they had been told.
By teachers who had altered too
the ancient tales they had retold.

Each myth and legend seems to be
a twisted version of some tale.
Which was quite true originally
Our search for truth is doomed to fail.

There’s little evidence to find.
Although we can extrapolate
from different versions left behind.
These fragments we appreciate.

Contain some truth enwrapt in lies,
Driven by curiosity
embark upon an enterprise,
The ultimate futility.

Though we can guess, we cannot know.
Our theories could be correct
Events which happened long ago
change with each telling I suspect.

Songs Set To Music: 12. Set By Mr. Smith

Since my words, though ne'er so tender,
With sincerest truth express'd,
Cannot make your heart surrender,
Nor so much as warm your breast;

What will move the springs of Nature
What will make you think me true?
Tell me, thou mysterious creature,
Tell poor Strephon what will do.

Do not, Charmion, rack your lover
Thus, by seeming not to know
What so plainly all discover,
What his eyes so plainly show.

Fair one, 'tis yourself deceiving,
'Tis against your reason's laws;
Atheist-like (th' effect perceiving)
Still to disbelieve the cause.

One To One

(jerry foster, bill rice)
One to one
You and me
Anyone with eyes can plainly see
How it is with you and me
One to one
From now on
In each others arms where we belong
And how we love when were alone
We have so much between us
We know each others needs
And you make it oh so good
When its just you and me
One to one
You and me
Anyone with eyes can plainly see
Oh how it is with you and me
One to one
From now on
In each others arms where we belong
Oh how we love when were alone
One to one

Fairy stories?

Are fairy tales just fantasy
or things we know subconsciously.
Warnings we heed instinctively,
although presented pleasantly
Why do we tell our children tales?
in which it seems that evil fails
and in the end virtue prevails.
When we know that life entails.
Some hard decisions we must make
about the road that we should take.
Perhaps the fairy tales awake
abilities to spot the fake
that’s masquerading as the truth.
A lesson learned in early youth.
