Monsoon

Father sun isn't rude anymore
For he is in his transition chore more
Aippasi is all set at Libra's door
Farther monsoon is nearer to pour
Heigh ho sing, 'clouds are scudding forth'
Sultry souls are out to graze
In the field of showery grace
Aippasi embarks on with revenent mirth
Sunbaked earth is in quenching race
Monsoon is merry with magnified girth

Interim events illumine monsoon
Celebrated celestials marry soon
Sin-hewn demons defeated to maroon
Ravana, Narakasura slain to a festive boon
Heigh ho sing merrily 'merry merry Deepavali'
May the ignorant heart doesn't croon
But let the lit up soul tune
Monsoon thence on cloud nine rapturously
Monsoon is heaven of bliss-immune
Say so, a harp of pattering music lifely

Monsoon is dexterously good
Yet sometimes opens its monstrous hood
Thamiraparani expels Kurukkuthurai Lord
Even so spears Tharaka, Padmasura the Lord
Heigh ho sing, 'vel vel vetrivel vetrivel'
Marries happily Valli the victorious Lord
Enlights the house of earth monsoon savvied
Abashed monsoon assures to shrivel
Leaving its imprint in wintry cold
Say so 'may His fulgency our pride too quell

Monsoon at peak! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

Monsoon at peak
I hear a monologue-
Rain speaks…

Monsoon at peak,
Thatched roofs
Leak…

Monsoon at peak,
Corn on cob
Wins over coffee…

Monsoon at peak,
Can I go out, mother?
A child pleads…

Monsoon at peak,
A boy steals a look
At a girl soaked to skin…

Monsoon at peak,
Roads flooded,
Where is MCD?

Monsoon at peak,
Umbrellas
New fashion accessory…

Monsoon at peak,
Sun gets much needed
Rest…

Monsoon at peak,
Bathes
Foliage and trees.

Monsoon at peak
Schools closed
Children squeal,
Wish, it rains
Everyday of the week…

Monsoon at peak,
Leave your shoes at the door-
Mother screams…

Monsoon at peak,
Driver stops
To wipe the wind shield…

Monsoon at peak,
Open pavements
Home to many,
Wear deserted look …

Monsoon at peak,
Wet laundry-
Sun rise, please.

When Poet's Weep

with the monsoon
came the rains
which flooded
waiting landscape
with infinite words
swift rivers of life flow
from excalibur poet's pens
water thirsty souls

with seasons monsoon
comes regeneration rains
poets take up parchment pens
weep oceans of written tears
let compassion flood hearts
battle hard inspire lost souls
with life awaited monsoon
came soul cycle of rains

A Poem On A Lonely Monsoon Night

Each dropp of rain
Oozing joy unbound
Contains within itself
The seed, the sapling
Followed by flowers
Whispering petals
Gushing waters
Paper boats
And damp clothes

Time for monsoon fun
If you wake up with drizzle
On your face
Cool breeze tickling
Through the pores

Verging on summer's finale
And smiling monsoon
July is a strange month
Of expectation
And disappointment alike

Longing spreads as a bed spread
On lonely monsoon nights

A Poem On A Monsoon Afternoon

On this monsoon afternoon
As I lie in an uneasy stupor
An inexplicable power of magic
Insulates me.

Many images float
On the thin veil of my eye
That renders the routine humdrum,
Hazy and fading

The world now is
The monsoon-sea
The Moonlight
And you.

Monsoon

Another rain
Another unstoppable train
Does anybody could see the drain?
Being alone makes me an easy lonely
Without reason
I feel the coming of monsoon
It will be too much gray cloud
It will be too much water
Before my heart breaking drown

Another vain
Another cold friend
Does anybody could care for the grain?
Being alone makes me a little colder
Without season
I feel the coming of monsoon
It will be too much flash of lightning
It will be too much crying
Before my heart breaking frozen

Sing Heigh-Ho!

There sits a bird on every tree;
Sing heigh-ho!
There sits a bird on every tree,
And courts his love as I do thee;
Sing heigh-ho, and heigh-ho!
Young maids must marry.

There grows a flower on every bough;
Sing heigh-ho!
There grows a flower on every bough,
Its petals kiss-I'll show you how:
Sing heigh-ho, and heigh-ho!
Young maids must marry.

From sea to stream the salmon roam;
Sing heigh-ho!
From sea to stream the salmon roam;
Each finds a mate, and leads her home;
Sing heigh-ho, and heigh-ho!
Young maids must marry.

The sun's a bridegroom, earth a bride;
Sing heigh-ho!
They court from morn till eventide:
The earth shall pass, but love abide.
Sing heigh-ho, and heigh-ho!
Young maids must marry.

rhymed A1BA2 bCB cDC dED eFE fA1FA2 or fFA1A2

The terzanelle body is comprised of tercets
that each refrain the second line of the preceding tercet
for its third line. The first line of each of these tercets
is rhymed with its refrained line.

The first and third lines of the opening tercet are refrained
as the second and fourth lines of the closing quatrain.

Return Of Monsoon (Terzanelle)

Atlast she is back here to me so close
This change of season to rains, the monsoon
Manured my heart doeth bloom from heaven's dose

How nice she heals all those hot throes so soon
And bids bye bye to summer! .. I wonder..
This change of season to rains the monsoon

How fine she calms and cools all to splendor
Thence in merry bounds of spirit joins life
And bids bye bye to summer I wonder

How well she drives drought to no more of strife
Vales and woods and hills and plains all flourish
Thence in merry bounds of spirit joins life

How great pools and brooks and rivers nourish
While flora-fauna grow bonnie a lot
Vales and woods and hills and plains flourish

Such a divine spit she is from God's heart
Atlast she is back here to me so close
While flora-fauna grow bonnie a lot
Manured my heart doeth bloom from heaven's dose

As the Monsoon Retreats

Besides the smell
Of the earth,
Lush green trees,
Garden weeds,
And the sound of the rain
Music to my ears, after
Dust storms and hot winds.

I loved the
Croaking of the frogs.
After dusk fall
Twinkling fireflies.
The call of the Cicadas,
Although a bit
Eerie at night.

I would exclaim
Monsoon brings
Wild life
Full of sounds
And delightful sights

Now, as the
Monsoon recedes
I realise, those sounds
Had long since died,
Couldn’t survive and adapt
To polluted environment.

It’s a pity,
Nature has become
A victim
Of human activity.

Monsoon

Storm clouds are overhead as there is a monsoon,
but no need to despair because we’re over the moon,
all the running and fighting in the street,
stops because the angels have begun to weep,
their tears falling and splashing at our feet,
people then start rejoicing and dancing in the street,
because the water from heaven is so sweet,
so won’t you take my hand,
and help build up this newly moist land,
then we can all be together,
rejoicing in the lush and wet weather.

The dark grey clouds of the monsoon,
destroy the gloom and start a season of bloom,
so all those people in the street,
that you keep on wanting to meet,
open their arms in a gesture to greet,
as the falling precipitation peppers the street,
the resonate pattering, a golden treat,
as this is their lucky number seven,
pennies cascading down from heaven,
helping to put an end to drought and poverty,
and make a start to freedom and positivity.

As the Monsoon Recedes

Besides the heady fragrance
Of the wet earth,
Freashly bathed green trees,
(Evoking images of a damsel
stroking her wet tresses)
Garden weeds,
And the sound of the rain
Music to my ears, after
Scorching summer,
Dust storms and hot winds.

I loved the
Croaking of the frogs.
After dusk fall

didn't share my delight

Monsoon Rains

The Monsoon rains have set at last,
A bit delayed than in the past!
The state is water-logged a lot;
The water-table, up somewhat!

No doubt, the rains are welcome but
Many have lost their lives and hut;
The torrent was sudden and big,
And left most people with no wig!

Many now suffer by the rains;
The water is from sky and drains;
It takes a month to settle down;
This is the scene in every town!

Yet, who does clean the cities’ dumps?
’Tis Nature cleaning dirt, clogs, sumps!
For, no one does this job so well,
Like rain from God that pours like hell!

Nevertheless, it does just good,
Though farmers lose their fields and food!
And roads and bridges get damaged,
They are the bad ones and the aged!

Thank God for Monsoon rains that came,
And give Him praises and not blame!
The world needs water that is fresh;
If not, no one can drink, refresh!

Oh, let the rains come in big way!
And let it rain by night and day!
Let’s face the strife those, come what may!
The Sun will shine when we make hay!

The First Rain of Monsoon

In the month of May
The Summer does sway
The first rain of Monsoon
The drizzling started very soon
The weather is so pleasing
In the evening
The breeze is blowing
the leaves are hovering
At the tender touch of rain drops
Rain is good for upcoming crops
The nature get rejuvenated
Spirit of living life elevated
Water in the form of rain
Never goes in vain
Whether India, England or Spain
People wish rain to come again
Pouring in the valleys, raining in the plain
The thirsty Earth values the rain
After the rain sky is clear
The shining leaves become dear
Listen to the music of nature
New melody of every creature
Flattering of the leaves together
Soft gargling sound of water
Enjoying the rain with pleasure
