Let it be...
The feet of heart
Heavily laden
With agony and ecstasy
Desperately clutch at
The shifting
Vagrant sand dunes
Quite a few moments of death
Drop as tears and
Mingle with the wandering sands
To sprout as a desert flower or two
Elsewhere
Is that a mourning?
Is that a celebration?
Let it be...

Questions to Desert Wind…
You wonder,
Did the desert wind already forgotten to past?
No dearest, it has always blown so gently…
Crafting this dry open desert,
Shifting mystical sand dunes,
Bringing precious droplets to a thirsty bird,
To comfort her broken heart!
You further asked,
O desert wind…
Why erased my written message in the sand?
So let it be a permanent secret,
Cause I have already engraved it in my heart.

Dunes
oh! man. remember the day when you are born, the sky that
twinkle in your eyes, as the sea breeze, in the dunes of sand,
tranquil, in the luminous pavement of water beneath your
mother's tear
you have chatter the fears of death, of which the stings of pain,
labour in the weary sweat of your father hand has come to sprout
like orchards green of graves in the blue sky in your mother
dream
a dunes, that whisper the cool olive oil in the green leaves of
summer in the meadow of oasis of desert from the storm in the,
night of the skies, waiting to capture the smiling faces of your
loved father and mother cribs
like a cheddar, full of tasted cream of cheese, in every tongue,
awaits to capture the aroma of judgment in our hearts, so
especial, that every wind calls our spirit to mingle every direction
it brings
each pieces of sand, leads us to a place, where the emptied
soul, find its meaning of being one in the darkness of uncertainty
a call for, to follow the segment of our life in the course of nature
tranquility
life is what we make it, a wind that redirect us to focus ourselves,
the dunes of where we have to follow, where the cooled wind,
will brings to the sea of life everlasting
' let the dunes be, a dunes to other in the great blue ocean of God'

Memories of Summers Spent
For Faizil
I remember the sand dunes of Aniston
Eastwards on the south of the Western Cape coast
The blue skies hanging over
Illuminated by the burning sun
Within the sand dunes concealed
Lies the bones of shipwrecked sailors of yesteryear
Contrast of desert and ocean
Like two dimension woven in one
Dwarfed by the sands of time
I remember how we raced to the top of the dunes
Breathless without thought
Just the absolute carefree bliss of being children
The race down was a running and a tumbling
Our summers spent camping at Arniston
When finally at the bottom, we would lay exhausted
Panting, catching our breath

Quetch
Tendril wafted dunes
of barren sands waffle,
swirl across mile
upon mile in every direction-
your face appears a horizon away,
there is little comfort found
in accompanying echoes.
Drifting sticks
wail in the pitched wind,
stretched on distant recollection-
stylus of the scribe named Regret;
each flurrying breeze
turns a new page,
taking with it freshly shed tears.
Foetid droppings
of some wastrel desert vagabond
provide a vivid reminder
of how it can never be again,
to kick it away
would only contaminate
these well worn wandering shoes.
Head facing forward
wherever the nose points
except in the back of the mind
where the oasis burbles-
each leafy frond conceals
intimate moments now buried
within the unmindful desert's gut.

Just Wait
the desert does not end
as a desert per se
beyond these faceless sand dunes
there is always a shore
where our feet can taste
the sea again
beyond the sea is another
sunless horizon
a cool evening
a breezy affair
another conversation of
two lonely people
converging again
remembering what once
was an island
a lagoon with parakeets
coconut trees
and free flowing falls

Love Sonnet 169 I Have Seen Sadness On The Prestine Sand
I have seen sadness on the pristine sand,
In faded footprints, you have failed to make,
More so that sands were once huge rocks, so grand,
Before this fate, that only sands could take:
To become the dunes, were dwelt my sorrow,
In dire stillness that aggravates my loss,
The craved tenderness, which you did not show,
That spawned a desert, much too wide to cross;
Though minute are the grains that slip my grasp,
Like truths that seep through a mind grief ridden,
Vicious as though rose harboring a wasp,
Thereby, in sweetness lurks its sting, hidden;
......Yet, your footprints did not last till evening,
......As blown sand covered your tracks of leaving.

On The Dunes
Drive along the sea
Far from the citys twitch and smoke
To a misty beach
Thats where my life became a joke
On the dunes
On the dunes
(became a joke on the dunes)
Where rents are high
And seabirds cry
On the dunes
As you spoke you must have known
It was a kind of homicide
I stood and watched my happiness
Drift outwards with the tide
On the dunes
On the dunes
(homicide on the dunes)
It wasnt fair
Its brutal there
On the dunes
Pretty boats
Sweeping along the shore
In the faltering light
Pretty women
With their lovers by their side
Its like an awful dream
I have most every night
In the summer all the swells
Join in the search for sun and sand
For me its just a joyless place
Where this loneliness began
On the dunes
On the dunes
(loneliness on the dunes)
Im pretty tough
But the wind is rough
On the dunes

Adelaida
She's a flower in the desert
thirsting for the living water;
Her petals start to fall
with the burning sun scorching her,
the cruel sands hurting
while the wind is merely blowing.
You could see she's all alone -
a flower in the desert.
You could see her tears flowing,
making her alive -
for all those years she tried
to hide the pain she felt inside.
She never knew her tears,
sweet tears is making her alive.
Of how strong she was,
she never knew.
She watched herself as petals fell and flew -
even her broken heart fell...
but her contrite spirit cried in mighty prayer
to Him that's waiting for her prayer.
It rained. In the desert, it rained.
The once dying flower has blossomed.
With her face towards the heavens,
her thirst was quenched.
For out of her humble prayer
came the living water...
springing up unto everlasting life.

Grain....
when life one dark night says
that it is tasteless and so bland like the air
the leaves of the mahogany trees hear it
and the following morning confide it with the
sea breeze
who tells it all to the sands who spread same story
to the waves of the shores
who deliver it to every desert in the sand
who keep all these in the heart of their
sacred solitude
and the wisdom stops in there
every dry sand of the desert
thrives upon this story
and sleeps so soundly.
'it is a fact and we are not surprised' the grain
of sand so proudly tell the others.

How spiny the cactus raised itself
how spiny the cactus raised itself
into the desert
how red the sand
burnt under the mid-day sun
how scorched the scorpion moved
across the red sand
and in that silence
a sudden whirlwind blows
a red, red cloud of sand
from the dunes rises
how spiny the cactus raised itself
into the tempest:
and yet
and yet
the tempest was subdued and fell
as happened long ago and now
and still
and spiny the cactus raises itself
into the desert
and the red sand
burns under the mid-day sun

The Minds eye for M lady Allie
The beauty of the desert lands
Lies in the multi coloured sands
which vary with the light of day.
Only the nomad understands.
By night the dunes look black and grey
but alter when the moonbeams play
across the valleys and the peak.
Creating pictures which cannot stay.
The beauty that the nomads seek
is to the desert lands unique.
Invisible to western eyes
which view the barren sands as bleak.
The beauty of desert lies
in what the viewers mind supplies.

A Hole
Brother where art thou?
Hidden under screen doors?
Did they grow like choke weeds
Around the tree?
Are they silencing your trap?
Brother where art thou?
In berry bushes, a wine flavor?
Did you forget the clippers?
Did you let the screen sprout
Like a city from the desert?
Something that should not be there?
Brother where art thou?
Did we not come from the same womb?
Will we not have the same last name
on our tomb?
Do you remember the skyscraper you built
from the sand?
Do you remember what we shared...
The way we were, hand in hand?
Brother where art thou?
I miss you so.
Brother where art thou?
Did the oil rag you tossed at my feet
Leave longer lasting marks?
Has the engine refused to turn over
a new leaf?
Do you know my agony?
Does the bunk bed bring you nightmares?
Brother where art thou?
How can you sit so close, yet be so far away?
When is the last time that your heart
saw the light of day?
Do you remember the s**t? the grime?
The f***ing Superbowl?
The knives we could've pulled out
of each others backs?
Do you remember what I made in the sand
next to your skyscraper?
It was a... well you know.

For Haiti I Cry
My heart like a desert
My tears like a river
Shifting sands of sadness
My whole body shivers
I am sick with suffering
I am pregnant with pain
My ruptured heart bleeds
From my eyes flow the rain
Lachrymose! Lachrymose!
Haiti I weep for thee
Your sons and daughters
Have suffered tragic misery
I bawl! Don't ask me why!
For Haiti! For Haiti I cry!

Dune's Confrontation
Within the fold
of my cowl. Fragile eyesight
is shielded to the sun searing heat.
From the bleached sands
of the ever shifting dunes.
Scanning 'cross the beckoning
mysterious landscape
so silent, veiled sirens
seductively whisper.
Challenge to conquer that
ever changing panorama.
In the sand at my sandals.
Must I retrieve,
that gauntlet flung by
non stop firey zephyrs?
Surely to decline
would justify mortality's
failings.
In the eyes of cynical deities,
encourage its demise.
With hesitation a non-issue
deep torrid breath I inhale,
determined to defy all's
negative arrogance.
Through clutching sands,
I fight.
One dogged step and another.
Biased satisfaction will be
denied.

The Sands Of Time
The trickling of sand has started now
for the moments we shall share.
There will not be enough time for us,
not enough time to spare.
Let's turn the hourglass over and over
so our time cannot run out.
For our love, my sweet is all that counts.
It's all I think about.
The sands of time one by one
are traveling much too fast.
How can we slow them down, my dear?
How can we make them last?
Yours is the heart that beats my life,
one beat at a time.
Yours is the mind that connects with me
one thought at a time.
And as we travel through our lives
those grainy sands still fall,
making me want to hang on tight
and stop them once and for all.
But life is movement and must go on
so take my hand and stay
close by my side through all our moments
as the sands of time fall away.

The Truth About Us
'I feel an
indescribable ecstasy
and delirium
in melting,
as it were,
into the system of beings,
in identifying myself
with the whole of nature.'
Jean-Jacques Rousseau (1712-1778)
i am not alone
for i am a part
to every grain of sand
to every sand
in dunes
to every particle
in the wind
to every molecule
of water
to every atom
of your being
how can you
deny such truth
in us?

Erotic Scene pt 1
The sand at the ashore of
the ocean paints our body,
the sensitive full moon takes
record of our moves, The stars
are really cute tonight, smiles
never desert us, my chest is
your poillow and drawing board
your hair is my tendy.the sound
that comes from the oceans praise
our body as we grind to it. with our
lips fortifying our love, our hands do
the talking. I feel your lips on my ear
my heart beat fast, tears drops, my
hand find your hips as we grind ourselves
home, breathing heavily our hands shiver
smokes find it way out of our mouths, as
we reach your climax, screaming in ecstasy.

Dancer
Dancer of the mild air,
Is he learning a new song?
Or is wisdom the very utterance
Bellowing from his lips,
The mighty sands of the sparkling desert
Are characteristic of pain and all rigidity,
The mighty sands of sorrow fade away
From being dunes to small places.
Like a sandy region the dance is staged,
Having a turn of festivities.

Sand Dunes
Stretched far and wide,
Are the piles of sands
The waves of wind creates
Thousands at a time and
Thus recreates another with
The strong sway, making fool
The beholder mingles one
With the other, I look for
The first one, lose the second
Third and innumerable...
Turns the number, but
None to be mine one and
Only sand dune, my footprint
Runs to be one with the other,
Gets nothing, only a whirling,
A very clear whirling of sand
Breaking one after another into
Gulleys and again into dunes.
I also turn to be a dot, in the
Sea of sand, a mere dot!
