The Common Soldier & the Politician

In times of problems and peril
The politician comes wagging his tail
Praying the soldier would bail him out
And he does so without fail.

Once the peril is over
Lives are lost and medals won
The widow is patted on her back
And the politician's job is done

Then starts the silent battle
Then starts the difficult fight
The soldier's family lives on unsung
Through the lonely night

The politician spends a charmed life
And on his dying day
People who forgot men of steel
Applaud the man of clay

I wonder if there'd be wars
If politicians had to lead the charge
If our ministers became the soldiers
And the PM became the Sarge

I Am No Politician

I am no politician.
I am direct.
Every blemish and flaw I have,
I accept without regret.
I am not trying to win your approval
To represent your requests.
Nor will I disappoint you...
With deceit to later confess.

I am no politician.
Seeking a way to line my pockets.
I find that disgusting!
And I observe those who can not stop it!
Your quality of life...
With standards you behold.
Isn't my fault at all!
That your best interests,
They have sold!

You selected them to dismiss me.
To keep me and mine in check!
You elected them to suppress my dignity.
To keep my indentity distressed.
You chose them to divide and conquer.
By rules and laws
They clearly defied...
You now regret!
Why me...
You despise?

I am no politician!
My priorities are my happiness.
Not to masquerade with pretentions...
For purposes to make promises,
With intentions to forget.

I am no politician...
To trap you like prey.
And dangle you to capture...
As I make arrangements with others,
To take away the safety from your nests.
To portray in false charades.

Politicians Vavroovahana Patra

Politicians exploit the people of the country;
Hoarding money, remain in palatial building with delight.
Poor people die with plight;
Politicians say India is a country of prosperity.

Without providing food to the poor entertain day and night;
Do not feel all are sons and daughters of Almighty.
Widow laments for food day and night;
The family remain in hunger with plight.

Politicians forget their ideology of sacrifice;
Remain away Divine Bliss.
Entangle in bribe and corruption;
Enhance society’s tension.

A good politician thinks upliftment of society;
Derives peace observing poorman’s smile and delight.
A good politician derives peace serving the patient;
Lives in peace with merriment.

Good politician is blessed with Divine power;
God blesses him with peace, pleasure.
Service to human beings is service to Divinity;
All are sons and daughters of the same Almighty.

Blood on His Hands

A politician told a lie
Which meant a soldier had to die -
His blood is crying from the ground
But the politician hears no sound,
He's safe and cosy far away
And hopes that they'll increase his pay.
You probably gave him your vote,
But this is not a time to gloat.
He told us he was 'a straight kinda guy'
And that he'd never tell a lie.
You may forget the soldier's name,
But his parents know just who to blame,
Their son will never see Tomorrow

Orang-Utan

A large ape disappeared from a Zoo
And he has been to one of his friends a former retired politician.
He complains his friend that he wants to extract a tooth.
They went to a dentist and extracted the tooth.
Then the ape said 'I want to see an ophthalmologist.'
On the way the politician said' Don't spend so much money and I have my old spectacles which I used for my whole political career.'
'Better buy a new one that is much corrupted.' Ape replied angrily.

I dedicate this poem to Mr.Nadarajah.Raviraj a popular Sri Lankan/Tamil politician and his bodyguard who were Assassinated in the broad daylight today by unidentified gunmen. The Government has already called the Scotland Yard Police for the Investigation.

Mr. politician could be perfect but people its doubtful.

Space odyssey

The politician is one of the candidates
who was short listed for the spacecraft.
He insisted on his henchman accompanying him.
'I am not qualified Sir' henchman replied.
'Your political knowledge is more than enough,
do not worry I'll do arrangements and you get ready'
Politician assured.
The following day henchman explained the matter to his wife.
She was angry and said 'I don't mind wherever you go
but before you leave buy all these things for me'.
She gave a long list and the things available only in the moon.

Where once - There now

Where once our young men fought so well,
Where once they stood and went through hell,
Where once they died and where they fell
There now politicians collect.

When the bullets flew red hot lead
Knew no favours as men fell dead
Screams the last sound they ever bled.
'Move that light, get the right effect.'

Shells whistling from armoured tanks
Toppled down with a pray of thanks
Offices, churches, homes and banks.
'Our politicians must not look old.'

In the ruined and wasted city

'That's better, now they look so bold.'

It is thriving business with no control,
Even commit crime easy quick parole,
Influence work with possible fear of reprisal,
They don’t need evidence or appraisal,

My father might have been good,
In previous birth and offered food,
So as result we enjoy and throw,
All our glory with pomp and show,

No college, no degree or education needed,
Only self honour and pride conceded,
Not feeling bad at insult and shame,
Containment of hatred and sharing blame,

So this is business no one can master,
Money may flow even with speed faster,
All is needed from people to muster,
At the time of selection they serve as caster,

I need to groom under his cover,
So to succeed in list of fewer,
Prepared to take false oath and vow,
Learn all tactics to escape how?

Can't Go Over the Mountain Aug 2nd,2012

We need to put a pipe across a mountain but they say "No! "
You can't do it unless you pay us lots and lots of dough,
Because out here, we are far more important than you and you!
This may be a form of extortion but there's nothing you can do.




Some pipsqueak politician wants to stop our oil pipeline,
Could these pipsqueak types put the whole country into decline?
Do we have someone who could tell them, go jump in the lake?
Are our national politicians in Ottawa, asleep or awake?




Or are they looking up Trudeau's Charter to see if it's written there?
Or maybe a minister, a priest or a bishop to help with some prayer?
All we need is one politician with guts to tell them where to go,
Are you there Stephen or is this, all some sort of game show?

Richie Rich Buys Your Repossessed Houses

beware the politician who says
he won't let your salaries be raised
because it would cause inflation

any real politician worth his salt would know
when millions are having houses repossessed
due to unemployment no salary no food it blows

desperate times need desperate aid measures
we should all hate politicians who demand
we citizens must all tighten our poor belts

while government exempt votes themselves hot pay raises
buys up cheap white hot property belonging to citizens
richie rich buys repossessed houses at cut throat prices

The Soothing Caress Of The Serpent's Flattering Tongue

At one time or another
The politician himself was a snake
A big boulder of a boomerang rock
Fell on the man snake
He was staring death in the face
The pious tender man saved him
But true to form there and then
The ungrateful politician went all
Out to prostitute himself before
The world and the other crosstitudes
And before the world the pious man
He threatened to backbite and betray
And back stab all this was true to
The form of the slick darkie politician

And betray me let's consult the consult
That spin doctor known as the jackal
The out maneuvered pious man said
Jackal is like Ban Ki Moon and Kofi
Annan rolled into one-they're notorious
For charming the world into shaking
The hands of the Basher Assads and the
Muammar Ghadafis of the world that are
Dripping with the blood of the innocent
Ban and Kof are at the forefront of the
Self servers who give the democratic world
The package of democracy without justice
On the plight of the miserable poor The
United Nations is usually silent but it
Defends to death the rights of the murderer
To receive clemency and skip the noose...
To the deceiving snake man thus spake Jackal
Crawl under the big bouldering rock
And try as he did the snake could not
Get the rock off his heaving chest and there
They left the snake to ponder to death

A Politician’s Plane crash-land in Wonderland

The plane landed in an emergency.
The politician was surprised in the air port as lot of women with garlands greeted him.
A woman said “You are the first delegate politician who visited our country.”
“Really is it? How do you know I was in the plane? ” He replied.
“Our radar says when a corrupted human being lands to our country.”
He was taken to Quarantine and found positive to HIV virus.
In wonderland there is a remedy for the infection and they gave an injection the patient forgets his past.
He was surprised by seeing this magical country.
The citizen is very happy and there are no jails, Courts, Police, Armed forces, sick people and all are well off.
For the first time in Wonderland’s history they made a special jail for this politician and he was sentenced to jail lifetime.
