Memorials On The Slain At Chickamauga
Happy are they and charmed in life
Who through long wars arrive unscarred
At peace. To such the wreath be given,
If they unfalteringly have striven -
In honor, as in limb, unmarred.
Let cheerful praise be rife,
And let them live their years at ease,
Musing on brothers who victorious died -
Loved mates whose memory shall ever please.
And yet mischance is honorable too -
Seeming defeat in conflict justified
Whose end to closing eyes is hid from view.
The will, that never can relent -
The aim, survivor of the bafflement,
Make this memorial due.

Man & war
Man live for hatred,
Man live for fighting,
Man live for selfishness,
Man live for destruction,
Man cries for peace and make war,
Thus, man now means war!
In Afghanistan, man makes war,
In Egypt, man makes war,
In Syria, man makes war,
In the Republic of Congo, man makes war,
In Ivory Coast, man makes war,
In Niger, man makes war,
In Nigeria, man makes war,
In Libya, man makes war,
In the Middle East, man makes war,
Thus, man is synonymous with war!
What is peace to man?
Peace to man is domination of the weak,
Peace to man is oppression of the meek,
Peace to man is iniquitous subjugation,
Peace to man is possession of absolute power!
Man, in the name of Shaka Zulu caused wars,
Man, in the name of Napoleon Bonaparte caused wars,
Man, in the name of Adolf Hitler caused wars,
Man, in the name of George Bush caused war,
Thus, man knows no peace but war!
For how long will man be the destroyer of life?
For how long will man be the hater of beauty?
For how long will man believe in conflict with nature?
Does man regret and repent for killing Jesus Christ?
Man will never change nor repent ‘cause man is perennially married to war!

Moving On With Our Own Lives
you do not expect me
to carry regrets as though i am the loyal descendant
of Sisyphus
you know me
you once loved me as i once loved you
i am fighter
always a survivor
i have known defeat
and respected its verdict
i move on with my life
it is my obligation not much of a right
i have no one
except my self
i will not see you again
not with tears in your eyes
for you might as well become my burden
let me see you smile
let me hear your laughter
let me see you happy in his arms
let me see you hugging your children
let me see you with your family in the garden
on a barbecue party
now, i am happy too
i move on
that is what i can only do.

War and Peace
Wars cannot give a lasting peace;
Wars cause much hatred and ill-will;
Wars are futile and costly too;
Wars break existing peace with ease!
Wars cause deep wounds of hearts and minds
–That can’t be healed except by time;
Wars lead to loss of lives untold
–That cannot be ever regained.
Wars serve to foment more troubles;
Wars make the world more insecure;
Wars shift the balance of powers;
Wars do not solve the world’s problems.
Love only solves great differences;
Love only bonds the earth’s peoples;
Love only brings peace with much ease;
Love is the key to global peace.

The Day Old Shep Died
it's been thirty years,
that he's been gone,
the day he died, brought tears,
all day, i played his song.
for nine long years,
i loved him and he loved me,
the day he died, broght tears,
toward the end, he could barely see.
when he died, i was seventeen years,
my child hood died that day,
the day he died, brought tears,
during his youth, we were always at play.
him and i was, so close in years,
when i got shep he was five and i eight,
the day he died brought tears,
he always ate his meals, off our plate.
he died at eighty-four in human years,
he lived to a ripe old age,
the day he died brought tears,
for this poem, he set the stage.
i can't believe, its been so many years,
i think about him, all the time,
the day he died, brought tears,
but old shep, was all mind.
of all these many years,
no dog has taken the place of old shep,
the day he died, brought tears,
i'll always remember, that dog with pep
in memory of old shep 1946-1960 written june 21,1990
Just False Patriotism
'Tis true to the dead that respect we should show
But they still honour men who died ninety years ago
For a dubious cause in Lands far away
But the war that was supposed to end all wars is re-lived today.
In that war it is said a million people died
And in such needless slaughter why do we take pride
At the war memorial the last post is played
And the long war dead are honoured with one more parade.
Those who march for peace it does seem to me
Do more for the betterment of humanity
Than those who go to war memorials to honour the long dead
Far too much about war has been written and said.
Just false patriotism to me this does seem
A boost to big egos and to self esteem
The mistakes of war are repeated today
And people are dying in war zones far away.

Justified And Sanctified
A wicked man, I am justified, saved by Christ to join His Bride,
The Holy Bride of Jesus Christ, saved by Him, given New Life,
Saved from a previous life of sin, to live my life, now for Him,
To live for Christ every day, walking anew on life’s narrow way.
By His Blood, I was justified, and in His Spirit, I am sanctified,
By Christ I have been set apart, with His Spirit now in my heart,
His Spirit guides me in this life, where sin around me is so rife,
To be for Jesus Christ a Light, in a world, where wrong is right.
Justified and sanctified to serve, in a position, I don’t deserve,
But while a sinner, God loved me, taking me to Mount Calvary,
To my Dear Savior’s Cross, where God cleansed me of dross,
He cleansed me of sin and shame, by the Power of His Name.
With His Power and Grace, He aids my witness place to place,
Giving me His Gospel, to preach, to all those, that I can reach.
Being a witness wherever I am, leading all others to The Lamb,
To The One, Who justified me, The Spotless Lamb of Eternity,
Through God’s only Salvation, I received by God justification,
Justified by A Holy God, He now leads me with staff and rod,
Leading with purpose in mind, with my old sinful ways behind,
A Purpose with an Eternal End, set apart to witness my friend.
Sonnet: Our Indian Jawans
For days and nights, they stay awake on end,
Trekking, marching, trudging, climbing terrain;
And strain their eyes to shoot and thus defend,
In marshy-land, forest, snow, sun or rain.
Though life was luxurious in times of peace,
’Tis war-time now, how life has become sad!
With scanty food, drink, clothes but much disease,
They move about some turning nearly mad.
This is the life of our Indian Jawans!
A life of sacrifice for country’s sake;
None can predict who lives/ dies, when peace dawns;
Each soldier fights with heart and soul, not fake.
Hats off, salute and sing a song of praise!
They die to make us live with happy face.

Worth Dying For
Though you might not like who I am
You might even hate me to the core
But one thing I can tell you my brothers
Jesus said that I, was worth dying for.
As when they placed him upon the cross
And then nailed him onto that board
Jesus closed his eyes and spoke to GOD
And said that I, was worth dying for.
So now as I walked down any road
My soul is so happy and my heart is free
As I know that to myself that I am loved
And its by someone, that you cannot see.
I have sinned and been sinned upon
But that type of life I want it no more
As I live my life right, like the bible says
That's why Jesus said, I was worth dying for.
I live my life with a smile upon my face
And also with a happy song inside my heart
As I know that I am loved by GOD himself
And from him I could never or will ever part.
Now when I wake up each and every morning
As no one knows what in life is in store
But happy am I, as I enter each and every day
As I know Jesus said, that I was worth dying for.
So I sing my praise unto you my lord
As I thank you for what you’ve done for me
You gave me life and you gave me hope
And then you gratefully pointed out my destiny.
So this I tell you all my friends and my foes
As you wait or think from just the day before
Look at your life as you look into your soul,
And now think; were you worth dying for.

Honor Among Scamps
We are the smirched. Queen Honor is the spotless.
We slept thro' wars where Honor could not sleep.
We were faint-hearted. Honor was full-valiant.
We kept a silence Honor could not keep.
Yet this late day we make a song to praise her.
We, codeless, will yet vindicate her code.
She who was mighty, walks with us, the beggars.
The merchants drive her out upon the road.
She makes a throne of sod beside our campfire.
We give the maiden-queen our rags and tears.
A battered, rascal guard have rallied round her,
To keep her safe until the better years.

YOUR MEMORY [by Redscar McOdindo K'Oyuga & Muna Moons Ahmed]
YOUR MEMORY
[by Redscar McOdindo K’Oyuga & Muna Moons Ahmed]
Redscar McOdindo:
I’ve tried to forget your cultures
I’ve taken down all of your pictures
I’ve even changed my manners
And tried to get yet another missus…
I’ve cleaned out all of your drawers
I’ve painted over the scratches
From all our little wars
But it has never been a savory
To erase your memory.
Muna Moons:
I live beyond earthly possessions
I, I am your emotions
We have lost directions
Trying to conform to different directions.
You, you come in to ease these confusions
But we are lost. Are we lost in institutions?
Baseless yet holding on to unique fusions?
Redscar McOdindo:
Since you left
I’ve acted swift
To wander away adrift
And widen the rift
Between you and me….
Too hard has it been to shift
But I’ve put away every gift
That you ever gave to me –
Including your flowers and their vase –
And now everything is in its place
Except for one quandary:
Your Memory.
Muna Moons:
Honey, the flower dried
And the vase was then deprived
But its memory can’t be denied
I loved you so much it sighed
You loved me too much it died
And now that we are sidelined
Our memories we can’t hide.
Redscar McOdindo:
Where do I put your memory
When it haunts me night and day
Standing on my every way
Even when I say ‘nay’?
Where do I put your memory;
Behold, my dear mortal pet
I can’t hide it in the closet
And Lord, I can’t throw it away!
Where do I put this memory
About your love that has been so spicy
For I dread to appear sissy
Because you left me so uneasy?
Oh, it makes me feel queasy
Not knowing where to put
Your sweet memory.
Muna Moons:
I breathed you in my fragrance
My memory still covers an expanse
Love, this memory is an endless dance
We are lost: we live in a memorable trance.
Where? How? My memories weren’t a happenstance
I died. I live in another memorable chance
Your memories make me lose balance
For we had loved once.
Redscar McOdindo:
Yes, we loved each other once
Yet your memory inspires trance!
And, lo, it remains a nuance
Where to put it –
This sweet memory –
When it is always in my mind
Oh, where to put it I can’t find!
I can’t chase it
For I’ll ever love it.
It’s so hilly to erase it
When I still cherish it…
I just have to face it
And learn to nurse it;
It’s going to be here with me
Right within and without me
For a long, long, long time!
Muna Moons:
Memories or no memories at all,
Whether big or just too small,
You, I, we gave love our all!
Voices within us will still call;
Ours enfolds a rainbow poll.
I keep your memories in my soul
These memories won’t cry foul
They were and are my all
We lived for a moment, undeniable.
Redscar McOdindo:
I’ve tried to delet your memoir
I’ve locked away each souvenir
And thrown away the poor keys
And now everything is in its place
Except for your memory.
To me it remains a mystery
Where to put your memory
When it haunts me night and day
Remaining on my way.
I can’t hide it in the closet
And Lord, I can’t throw it away!
Indeed, it remains to be a mystery
Where to put your memory
When it’s always in my mind
And where to put it I can’t find!
I’m still in love with our love;
That’s why I enquire:
Where do I put your memory –
Your Sweet Memory?

Mary O
She went to Dublin in the late sixties off hand can't say what year
For to live with her only child her daughter Peg O Deere
And still her happy laughter comes to me from long ago
The heart and soul of Claraghatlea kindhearted Mary O.
The only daughter of Mary and Jack the Master her only brother Jack
Died in England many years ago of a major heart attack
And Mary O outlived them all and 'tis said she's still going strong
And may she live to be over one hundred years and may her life be long.
I've known her since I was young lad since I was knee high tall
A mentor of my childhood years and one I still recall
She must have been over forty years when I was a schoolgoing boy
And with her happy hearty laugh she spread the gifty of joy.
In my memory she is still quite young she never did grow old
In her mid life when I was a boy she has a heart of gold
And I still hear her hearty laugh across the miles away
And I'll remember Mary O till my own final day.

Please Understand
Understand that if I appear aloof, I prefer to only state God’s Truth,
To post The Truth for others to see, it’s all about Him not about me.
For the only true way to life, is found in the words of Jesus Christ.
And He is the one who died for me, so that I could live in Eternity.
Understand that if I seem reserved, it’s not me but The Lord I serve.
It’s His Name that I want to raise, for all I am may He get the praise.
And I live my life to honor Him, for me He died to take away my sin.
My life is to be a living sacrifice, to Praise and Honor Jesus Christ.
Understand that I am in this race, only through His Amazing Grace.
And in this daily race that I run, it is through Christ that I overcome.
Friend, this is why I fix my eyes, on Jesus Christ, the ultimate prize.
For when my race in life is done, I’ll give an account to God’s Son.
Understand that if you disagree, your gripe’s with God not with me.
For the message is from Him; The Spotless Lamb who had no sin.
A Sinless Lamb was sin for us, and upon The Lamb I put my trust.
And this Truth I have received, I share so others may also believe.
Understand He’s coming back again, to reward or judge every man.
Before He left, to believers He said, preach Life to all who are dead,
Spiritually dead is what we are, until we receive Christ in our heart.
And the Only Way to Eternal Life, is through The Son Jesus Christ.

Notes Before Going...
it's over.
I'll leave a note,
i did not fight my wars
i let them pass
i viewed each fighter
with dismay
how they failed
and died, and so i think i was wise enough to use my sound discretion,
i did not fight my wars
i let them be.
i watched every mistake
i think i learned a lot.
my teachers gave my silence an honorable name.
and they always remember me for that.
i did not fight any war,
i simply watched and listened.
those who died cursed me
but i did not bother.
before i go, i must tell them this wisdom.
in not fighting my wars,
i won.

Peace-worker
God I want to turn myself into a very good guy
Like caterpillars metamorphose into butterfly.
I know we are all sisters and brothers
God help me so that I can help others.
The people of the world have many views
God give me the honor to preach true news.
The world is now full of conflict and war
God make me an unyielding peace-worker.

A miracle survior
A miracle survivor
God is able to do everything, I was hit to the place that it almost broke my sprit that I did not want to get up out of my bed and face the day, happy to be alive even tho tears fell from my eyes and on my face yes I cried! ! ! And that day I started to praise god in the mist of my pain because I was choosing to live and dying was not an option that day. Coping thur my pain made my sprit happy even in the mist of my weak state, it birth a smile in my heart that showed up on my face that my healing is on the way and it's about to take place. I develop enough faith in GODS ability that his power came over and this is my testimony I'm completely heal on today miracle survivor.

Peace and Conflict
Peace is laughter ike a musical bell,
Conflict is people crying,
Peace is everything being well,
Conflit is people dieing,
Peace is a very wonderful thing,
Conflict can be used t pursue peace,
Peace is a sound that makes you sing,
Conflict is the least luxurious thing,
Peace is sought after
And sometimes found,
Confit is punishment,
Paying the price,
Peace is being on safe ground,
Conflict makes people with heart of ice,
Peace you find in your heart,
Conflict tears our minds apart,
So remember these words and you'll live well,
Peace is laughter like a musical bell...

Brother Roger of Taize
A humble and fragile man
with a great heart
for respect, love and dialogue
among peoples of all nations.
With a call in your heart
you establish a community
of peace in Taize' -
a taste of God's kingdom on earth.
Yet you died a cruel death
never invoking revenge and hate
And even if your innocent blood
was oozing out of your breath
your brothers and ambassadors
of peace continued to sing the
Songs of Taize.
Brother Roger, thanks
for leaving us all
a great legacy of love,
fellowship and humility.

The Demons Inside Me
i soar through the sky
as happy as a man
can possibly be
a few years have passed
i walk through the night
as sad
as anyone
could possibly be
i wait to die
wait till the day i can fly
i take a sip of this
memory eraser
nothing i hate more
then songs about
happy endings
my life will not end happy
my life use to be happy
i smoke this drug
hoping it will prevent me
from being a sad death
i take these pills
so i wont die
so i wont kill myself
i forget my happy past
so i wont be more depressed
i have demons
everyone i know has them
but mine are the worst
my past haunts me
knowing i use to be happy
its three am
i jump in a lake
rocks tied all around me
knowing what will happen next
trying to drown my sarrows in death
im sorry loved ones but i am gone
ive been dead for most of my life
now i am dead
maybe i can find some peace in hell
mabe just maybe you can live a different life
because mines no good
so take another path
good luck to ya
i hope not to see you
in the next life

Old Madge
Old Madge who is in her late eighties is suffering from failing sight
But her memory it is flawless and she remains lucid and bright
She has vivid memories of her childhood which she feels happy to recall
I've had a good life she will tell you but my childhood years were best of all,
Her two great grand daughters are in their mid teens she says them I often do see
They are kind and lovely young ladies they always have been good to me
Her husband Tom died ten years ago they were married for fifty years
His end it was so slow and painful and memories of him still move her to tears
But she has got on with living life she says we cannot dwell in the past
The present is all that does matter though nothing in life seems to last
She surely is an inspiration the Madges of this World are rare
And though her sight it is slowly fading she is one unburdened by care
She always is happy and cheerful and she looks younger than her age
And from her life experiences she has learned much she surely is a female sage.

Approval of Men
Praise from men, one may desire, but, honoring God is much higher,
As we honor God in all our ways, while lifting up to Him all our praise,
The praise of men can be a snare, so as believers we must be aware,
Of Satan’s dark deceptive ploy, in diverting our focus to rob our joy.
As true believers serving our Lord, we must serve Him in one accord,
With all honor and praise due to Him, Who freed us from a life of sin.
For all we are and all that we’ll be, is a praise to Him, who set us free,
As God has given to us a New Life, to praise and honor Jesus Christ.
All of our service is for God’s Son, Who alone gives life to everyone,
Christ alone dispenses every gift, which Satan himself desires to sift,
Wanting to sift believers like wheat, as the devil plans for their defeat,
As The Body he attempts to destroy, with the individual believer’s joy.
Satan gets us to put humility aside, as he begins to stroke your pride,
As he twists our innermost thought, temptation in our mind is wrought,
Wanting us to heed temptation’s call, so that he can see believers fall,
Hoping that you will fall from grace, while for Christ, you’re in the race.
It is not man, but, Jesus Christ alone, Who sits upon Heaven’s Throne,
And it’s to Christ that we must raise, all of our honor and all our praise,
Recognizing that we’re all the same, simple sinners saved in His name,
As it’s Christ alone in whom we trust, while all others will return to dust.
