Tears are Two Small

Tears are too small a sign of grief,
My love, oh my sweet love!
A child will cry himself to sleep
As though his golden heart would break,
And yet will laugh himself awake
To see the morning cony leap.

Grief is too great to break a heart,
My sweet, though pain is there;
Too great for anything but death,
Blank madness underneath great seas,
Christ screaming from a million trees,
You, stark beneath a burial-cloth.

The Dawning

Awake, sad heart, whom sorrow ever drowns ;
Take up thine eyes, which feed on earth ;
Unfold thy forehead, gathered into frowns ;
Thy Saviour comes, and with Him mirth :
Awake, awake,
And with a thankful heart His comforts take.
But thou dost still lament, and pine, and cry,
And feel His death, but not His victory.

Arise, sad heart ; if thou dost not withstand,
Christ's resurrection thine may be ;
Do not by hanging down break from the hand
Which, as it riseth, raiseth thee :
Arise, Arise;
And with His burial linen drie thine eyes.
Christ left His grave-clothes, that we might, when grief
Draws tears or blood, not want a handkerchief.

Three Postcards

Oh, three postcards to my heart;
The three postcards from Morocco with love,
They are as a souvenir to my heart.
How great you are with love and care,
How great you are with words and views,
How great you are to my heart;
Yes, the postcrads of Safi to my humble heart.

Love will surely find a way,
Like the dream of dreams on important issues;
You are the one for me when it comes for love.
My heart is the soul of business when,
You are open to me;
My heart is the room of love when,
You are ready to share;
How sweet is your love?
Oh, sweet postcards to my heart;
The three postcards of love from the North,
True love transcends all borders.

In My Little Heart

In my little heart
lies joy and happiness
but beneath lies pain and tears.
My little heart oughts to forgive you
but what lies beneath oughts to hate you.
My little heart stores great stunts of pain
but it starts to fade away with great amount of tears.
Even greater amounts of love
ought to be hatred but what lies beneath refuses!
Slowly my heart breaks away only because
of the pain you caused to my little heart.
As little as it is you caused it
amounts of pain so big and huge but my heart was only little'
I may try to avoid the pain i feel
I may try to deny the tears i release
I may try to elaborate the situation i am in
But my heart is becoming so little
because a piece falls out every day!
My broken heart is not a little heart
It has now become a tiny heart
and one day maybe it will become that
huge, strong heart i always wished for....

Fruit Of The Spirit

Though broken 'neath the weight of grief,
The heart beats on in sorrow.
It seeks to meet some soon relief
But finds none in the morrow.

The heart is crushed; it's bruised to tears
And cannot sense the reason
For life that would but disappear
Before it's own due season.

The child who grew next to my heart,
Transfused such love and laughter;
But soon his young life would depart
Ascending the Hereafter.

Oh, Heart, produce your fruit of grief-
Much sweeter than the vine.
For though you're trampled 'neath the Thief,
You're left to pen these lines.

You must beat on against the foe
For Death must be defeated.
Allow your tears of grief to flow
Until with Christ we're seated.

O great golden head lie in my lap

O great golden head lie in my lap,
Sweet, sweet, lie there.
Sleep and I'll watch thee lest evil behap.
Sweet, sweet and fair.
O great golden head lie on my breast,
Sleep, sleep thou there,
Who in thy beauty hast stolen my rest,
Sweet, sweet and fair.

Stop! In The Name Of Love

(brian holland/lamont dozier/edward holland, jr.)
Stop! in the name of love
Before you break my heart
Baby, baby
Im aware of where you go
Each time you leave my door
I watch you walk down the street
Knowing your other love youll meet
But this time before you run to her
Leaving me alone and hurt
(think it over) after Ive been good to you ?
(think it over) after Ive been sweet to you ?
Stop! in the name of love
Before you break my heart
Stop! in the name of love
Before you break my heart
Think it over
Think it over
Ive known of your
Your secluded nights
Ive even seen her
Maybe once or twice
But is her sweet expression
Worth more than my love and affection ?
But this time before you leave my arms
And rush of to her charms
(think it over) havent I been good to you ?
(think it over) havent I been sweet to you ?
Stop! in the name of love
Before you break my heart
Stop! in the name of love
Before you break my heart
Think it over
Think it over
Ive tried so hard, hard to be patient
Hoping youd stop this infatuation
But each time you are together
Im so afraid Ill be losing you forever
Stop! in the name of love
Before you break my heart
Stop! in the name of love
Before you break my heart
Stop! in the name of love
Before you break my heart
Baby, think it over
Think it over, baby
Ooh, think it over baby...

Summer Song

I looked into my heart to write
And found a desert there.
But when I looked again I heard
Howling and proud in every word
The hyena despair.

Great summer sun, great summer sun,
All loss burns in trophies;
And in the cold sheet of the sky
Lifelong the fishlipped lovers lie
Kissing catastrophes.

O loving garden where I lay
When under the breasted tree
My son stood up behind my eyes
And groaned: Remember that the price
Is vinegar for me.

Great summer sun, great summer sun,
Turn back to the designer:
I would not be the one to start
The breaking day and the breaking heart
For all the grief in China.

My one, my one, my only love,
Hide, hide your face in a leaf,
And let the hot tear falling burn
The stupid heart that will not learn
The everywhere of grief.

Great summer sun, great summer sun,
Turn back to the never-never
Cloud-cuckoo, happy, far-off land
Where all the love is true love, and
True love goes on for ever.

Elizabeth Barrett Browning

A Musical Instrument

What was he doing, the great god Pan,
Down in the reeds by the river?
Spreading ruin and scattering ban,
Splashing and paddling with hoofs of a goat,
And breaking the golden lilies afloat
With the dragon-fly on the river.

He tore out a reed, the great god Pan,
From the deep cool bed of the river:
The limpid water turbidly ran,
And the broken lilies a-dying lay,
And the dragon-fly had fled away,
Ere he brought it out of the river.

High on the shore sat the great god Pan
While turbidly flowed the river;
And hacked and hewed as a great god can,
With his hard bleak steel at the patient reed,
Till there was not a sign of the leaf indeed
To prove it fresh from the river.

He cut it short, did the great god Pan,
(How tall it stood in the river!)
Then drew the pith, like the heart of a man,
Steadily from the outside ring,
And notched the poor dry empty thing
In holes, as he sat by the river.

'This is the way,' laughed the great god Pan
(Laughed while he sat by the river),
'The only way, since gods began
To make sweet music, they could succeed.'
Then, dropping his mouth to a hole in the reed,
He blew in power by the river.

Sweet, sweet, sweet, O Pan!
Piercing sweet by the river!
Blinding sweet, O great god Pan!
The sun on the hill forgot to die,
And the lilies revived, and the dragon-fly
Came back to dream on the river.

Yet half a beast is the great god Pan,
To laugh as he sits by the river,
Making a poet out of a man:
The true gods sigh for the cost and pain, --
For the reed which grows nevermore again
As a reed with the reeds in the river.

Break Down And Let It All Out

Break down and let it all out
Break down and let it all out
I've held back my tears
Just as long as I could
But now my eyes can see
It's all over for you and me
And holding back ain't gonna do no good
I'm gonna break down and let it all out
Break down and let it all out
I've hidden my heart too many times before
Now my aching heart knows that we're apart
And I can't hide it anymore
So I'm gonna break down and let it all out
Break down and let it all out
I remember when you used to love me and oh how sweet it was...
but it's not enough just to remember, 'cause
what good is the past?
once upon a time...
All those old memories can set my heart at ease
So before I loose my mind...yeah
I'm gonna break down and let it all out
Break down and let it all out
My eyes are open and now I see it's all over for you and me
Break down and let it all out
Break down and let it all out
Now my aching heart knows that we're apart
Break down and let it all out
Break down and let it all out
All those old memories can set my heart at ease
Break down and let it all out
Break down and let it all out...

Niobe

How like the sky she bends above her child,
One with the great horizon of her pain!
No sob from our low seas where woe runs wild,
No weeping cloud, no momentary rain,
Can mar the heaven-high visage of her grief,
That frozen anguish, proud, majestic, dumb.
She stoops in pity above the labouring earth,
Knowing how fond, how brief
Is all its hope, past, present, and to come,
She stoops in pity, and yearns to assuage its dearth.

Through that fair face the whole dark universe
Speaks, as a thorn-tree speaks thro’ one white flower;
And all those wrenched Promethean souls that curse
The gods, but cannot die before their hour,
Find utterance in her beauty. That fair head
Bows over all earth’s graves. It was her cry
Men heard in Rama when the twisted ways
With children’s blood ran red.
Her silence towers to Silences on high;
And, in her face, the whole earth’s anguish prays.

It is the pity, the pity of human love
That strains her face, upturned to meet the doom,
And her deep bosom, like a snow-white dove
Frozen upon its nest, ne’er to resume
Its happy breathing o’er the golden brace
That she must shield till death. Death, death alone
Can break the anguished horror of that spell.
The sorrow on her face
Is sealed: the living flesh is turned to stone;
She knows all, all, that Life and Time can tell.

Ah, yet, her woman’s love, so vast, so tender,
Her woman’s body, hurt by every dart,
Braving the thunder, still, still hide the slender
Soft frightened child beneath her mighty heart.
She is all one mute immortal cry, one brief
Infinite pang of such victorious pain
That she transcends the heavens and bows them down!
The majesty of grief
Is hers, and her dominion must remain
Eternal. Grief alone can wear that crown.

To A Friend

To a friend, Whose sorrow is great,
Where every problem surrounds, my close mate;
Christ is waiting, close by to you,
You just need to give it to Him that's true.

To a Brother, whose pain is so bad,
Till you feel like screaming, and so sad;
Jesus knows that pain, He can take,
So God will take that pain, all day you're awake.

To a sister, with a child whose problems so hard,
When at school is in trouble, and the name on the card;
Give it to Jesus, He can change the child's heart,
To make them behave, and they'll become smart.

To a wife or husband whose loved one has left,
And gone away, so their loved one is so bereft;
Christ has that loved one in whom they knew,
And Christ will always remain with you.

Marriage Morning

Light, so low upon earth,
You send a flash to the sun.
Here is the golden close of love,
All my wooing is done.
Oh, the woods and the meadows,
Woods where we hid from the wet,
Stiles where we stay'd to be kind,
Meadows in which we met!

Light, so low in the vale
You flash and lighten afar,
For this is the golden morning of love,
And you are his morning start.
Flash, I am coming, I come,
By meadow and stile and wood,
Oh, lighten into my eyes and heart,
Into my heart and my blood!

Heart, are you great enough
For a love that never tires?
O' heart, are you great enough for love?
I have heard of thorns and briers,
Over the meadow and stiles,
Over the world to the end of it
Flash for a million miles.

Constancy

I cannot change, as others do,
Though you unjustly scorn;
Since that poor swain, that sighs for you
For you alone was born.
No, Phyllis, no, your heart to move
A surer way I'll try:
And to revenge my slighted love,
Will still love on, will still love on, and die.

When, kill'd with grief, Amyntas lies;
And you to mind shall call
The sighs that now unpitied rise;
The tears that vainly fall:
That welcome hour that ends this smart,
Will then begin your pain;
For such a faithful, tender heart
Can never break, can never break in vain.

Life can be... But life is...

Life can be happy and great
It can make you energetic and feel so awake
It shows you, you can do anything if you just believe
There is no limit to try and conquer your dreams

But what happens
When it all turns bad
Where instead of being happy
You end up sad

Where life shows it's bad side
That makes you break and fall
There's nothing underneath you
So you can't stand tall

Where pain gets you
Right in the heart
It controls you
As you break and fall apart

It gets you down
Where it's hard to get back to your feet
It might take a while to recover
So hold tight on your seat

I Told You

I told you the winter would go, love,
I told you the winter would go,
That he'd flee in shame when the south wind came,
And you smiled when I told you so.
You said the blustering fellow
Would never yield to a breeze,
That his cold, icy breath had frozen to death
The flowers, the birds, and trees.

And I told you the snow would melt, love,
In the passionate glance o' the sun;
And the leaves o' the trees, and the flowers and bees,
Would come back again, one by one.
That the great, gray clouds would vanish,
And the sky turn tender and blue;
And the sweet birds would sing, and talk of the spring
And, love, it has all come true.

I told you that sorrow would fade, love,
And you would forget half your pain;
That the sweet bird of song would waken ere long,
And sing in your bosom again;
That hope would creep out of the shadows,
And back to its nest in your heart,
And gladness would come, and find its old home,
And that sorrow at length would depart.

I told you that grief seldom killed, love,
Though the heart might seem dead for awhile.
But the world is so bright, and full of warm light
That 'twould waken at length, in its smile.
Ah, love! was I not a true prophet?
There's a sweet happy smile on your face;
Your sadness has flown - the snow-drift is gone,
And the buttercups bloom in its place.

She Don't Love You

She don't love you like i love you
Cause if she did she wouldn't break your heart
She don't love you like i love you
She's tryin' to tear us apart
Fairly well i know you're leavin'
For the new love that you found
The pretty girl that you've been dating
Oh i've got a feeling she's gonna put you down
Cause she don't love you like i love you
Cause if she did she wouldn't break your heart
She don't love you like i love you
She's tryin' to tear us apart
She uses all the great quotations
She says all the things i wish i could say
But she's had so many rehearsals
Oh, to her it's just a lover's play
But wait when the final act is over
And you're left standin' all alone
When she takes her bow and makes her exit
Oh, well i'll be there to take you home
She don't love you like i love you
Cause if she did she wouldn't break your heart
She don't love you like i love you
She's tryin' to tear us apart

Break Up

Why all suddenly I want to
Break up with you
I have fall out of love with you
Every time I try tell you is over
I can't because you been a great guy
You are so innocent and I don't to make you
Fall down and break into pieces
You been so caring and sweet
I can't pretend that I want to be with you and that I'm in love you
Baby this relationship been all lied and fake
I'm sorry
I don't want to this end, but this best thing to do
I don't want to be in relationship that I feel guilty and still in love with another guy
I want to
Break up
Let's not carry this on anymore
I hope you can understand after you read this letter
Its over for good
You can find a better person than me who won't hurt you again
I want to
Break up
