The Secret Chamber
Once again I am caught
in elusive dreams
only two lovers can
enter the secret
chamber.
under an undisclosed
veil
we find each other.

My Elusive Dreams
by Curly Putman and Billy Sherrill
(added 10/25/97, thanks to Pauline Buchanan)
You followed me to Texas, you followed me to Utah,
We didn't find it there so we moved on.
Then you went with me to A-la-bam',
Things looked good in Birmingham,
We didn't find it there so we moved on.
I know you're tired of fol-low-ing
My elusive dreams and schemes
For they're only fleeting things,
My elusive dreams.
You had my child in Memphis then I heard of work in Nashville,
But we didn't find it there so we moved on.
To a small farm in Nebraska, to a gold mine in Alaska,
We didn't find it there so we moved on.
I know you're tired of fol-low-ing
My elusive dreams and schemes
For they're only fleeting things,
My elusive dreams.
Now we've left A-las-ka because thewas no gold mine,
But this time only two of us moved on.
And now all we have is each other and a little memory
To cling to and still you won't let me go on alone.
I know you're tired of following
My elusive dreams and schemes
For they're only fleeting things,
My elusive dreams.

Elusive Butterfly
Breeze blowing across my face
even the wind leaves a trace
gazing at wavering trees
petals floating in the breeze
For a brief moment in time
I thought maybe you'd be mine
but they were only dreams
and dreams are never what they seem
Love the elusive butterfly
always seems to pass me by
love the elusive butterfly
fly, fly fly, my elusive butterfly
Raindrops falling at my feet
why does love taste bittersweet?
butterfly's dancing in the trees
and then float off in the breeze
Love the elusive butterfly
always seems to pass me by
love the elusive butterfly
fly, fly fly, my elusive butterfly

Accept if you like
If you desire a man
who has access to you,
and have some notion
that by him you can get
the elusive orgasm,
waste no time and find a way.
If you don’t open,
pleasure will not enter.
No gain to anyone
By denial of pleasure to you.
No loss to anyone
By admittance of pleasure by you.
A one time secret affair

Hesitation
Many doors lie open before us
to enter as we may,
but we hesitate and wait outside.
Sometimes in our hesitation,
we lose that which we seek
and our dreams disappear
melting away before our eyes.
It was an illusion left behind
by our real dreams that were there.
Had we been quicker
we would have caught our dream,
instead we only caught despair.

Today... 'The Door
Where do we mortals find that narrow heavenly Door?
Through which millions of sinners have entered before?
It is found at the cross where Jesus was crucified
There for You paid for our sins, laid down Your life and died
With Your arms outstretched so wide and saying, 'Come to me'
For we find forgiveness by Your death at Calvary
And we see the Door before us swinging open wide
Allowing us to pass through the veil to heavens side
At the cross the veil in the temple was rent in two
We can still hear You calling sinners to come to You
For the door into heaven has been flung open wide
'Come to me you weary, ' we hear as we go inside
Calvary's cross is the Door through which man can go through
And there is no other way only this door will do
For You are the Way by which we must enter heaven
It is at the cross we must come to be forgiven
Then as we look behind us on the lintel we see
'Chosen before the foundation of the world in Me'
Though millions have come yet there is still room for more
God by His Grace has allowed us to enter the Door
So come to that Door for it is opened wide for you
And taste the glories of heaven as you enter through
The cry goes out 'whosoever will may enter in'
It is at the Cross where your journey has to begin
All who enter the door shall be safely kept inside
There forever with the Lord Jesus they all shall abide
Each one was chosen by God before the world began
Included by His grace as part of salvations plan

Elusive Butterfly
You might wake up some morning
To the sound of something moving past your window in the wind
And if youre quick enough to rise
Youll catch the fleeting glimpse of someones fading shadow
Out on the new horizon
You may see the floating motion of a distant pair of wings
And if the sleep has left your ears
You might hear footsteps running through an open meadow
Dont be concerned, it will not harm you
Its only me pursuing something Im not sure of
Across my dreams, with nets of wonder
I chase the bright elusive butterfly of love
You might have heard my footsteps
Echo softly in the distance through the canyons of your mind
I might have even called your name
As I ran searching after something to believe in
You might have seen me runnin
Through the long abandonned ruins of the dreams you left behind
If you remember something there
That glided past you followed close by heavy breathing
Dont be concerned, it will not harm you
Its only me pursuing something Im not sure of
Across my dreams, with nets of wonder
I chase the bright elusive butterfly of love
Across my dreams, with nets of wonder
I chase the bright elusive butterfly of love
Across my dreams, with nets of wonder
I chase the bright elusive butterfly of love

The Missed Train
How I was caught
Hieing home, after days of allure,
And driven to an inn—small, obscure—
At the junction, fret-fraught!
How civil my face
To get them to chamber me there—
A roof I had passed scarce aware
That it stood at the place.
And how all the night
I had dreams of the unwitting cause
Of my lodgment. How lonely I was;
How consoled by her sprite!
Thus onetime to me
Dim wastes of dead years bar away
Then from now! But the like haps to-day
To young lovers, may be.
Years, years as gray seas,
Truly, stretch now between! Less and less
Shrink the visions then great in me.—Yes,
Then in me. Now in these.

Come To Me
This is not the way I wanted things to be
I hope someday youll understand
My heart beats stronger when I know Im close to you
Its helped me to be a better man
Why must all of the love come falling
Why dont we just take our chance
I could walk this road again with you my love...oh, oh
Why cant you come to me
Dont save your love for some elusive dream
Why cant you find your way
I will fall for you no matter where it leads
This is not the way we started, you and i
How was it that I lost my way
Two souls can drift apart without a word
Were those the words I did not say
Why must all of the dreams come falling
Why dont we just take this chance
I could walk this road again with you my love, oh, oh
Why cant you come to me
Dont save your love for some elusive dream
Why cant you find your way
I will fall for you no matter where it leads
I could walk this road again with you my love
Why cant you come to me
Dont save your love for some elusive dream
Why cant you find your way
I will fall for you no matter where it leads

The Way that Lovers use
The way that lovers use is this;
They bow, catch hands, with never a word,
And their lips meet, and they do kiss,
- So I have heard.
They queerly find some healing so,
And strange attainment in the touch;
There is a secret lovers know,
- I have read as much.
And theirs no longer joy nor smart,
Changing or ending, night or day;
But mouth to mouth, and heart on heart,
- So lovers say.

I shall adore
If someone asks me honestly
I shall reply about it instantly
Those eyes had troubled and fascinated
My ideas about beauty was from there originated
Those were initial days
I had known no poetry and it was far away
She flashed across scene
And I was flat on ground to be seen
She guided me to the perfect imagery
That was all felt as need and necessary
We had perfect understanding with bond
She was my guide and I was very much fond
I could see her not beyond veil
It utter disgust and I failed
Then luck could not find any alternative
I was thrown away by reason that one won't believe
She is back after many years
I refused to believe ears
She is same familiar name
I used to boost and claim
I had seen her powerful eyes
She was always in veil so forbidden to try
She never budged for granting picture
She always smiled" it secret and my future"
I did remind her of my desire
But she will turn down and admire
I hoped to find her in mood
That day never turned out to be good
All those were turbulent days
We did not find any way
She had her own dreams and expectations
Searching for stable and permanent relation
I am promised with her picture
I shall see it as lost moments for sure
She occupies highest position as ever
I shall adore her whenever find and forever

Lovers Are Dreamers
Do dreams stay awhile or are they as morning dew?
Can they endure like the sky's eternal blue?
It depends on the dream and the dreamer's heart.
As true lovers know, each day their dreams start.
Alas, time does pass, but dreams true lovers own;
Most are smiles, a few tears, but never alone.
Each a dream for the other; that's what life is for.
Lovers, keep on dreaming… it's romance evermore.

Lazy Eye
The world spins round the secret lives
Of everyone that needs to hide
A cheap parade of endless lies
Filters through this lazy eye
And I dont believe in signs
No, I dont believe your lies
Caught in the breakdown
Caught in the breakdown
Caught in the breakdown
Caught in the breakdown
Lose yourself in no ones life
Trapped in nowheres empty light
Words like fists that tear you down
Crash before we hit the ground
And I dont believe in signs
No, I dont believe your lies
Caught in the breakdown
Caught in the breakdown
Caught in the breakdown
Caught in the breakdown
And I dont believe in signs
No, I dont believe your lies
No, I dont believe your lies
Caught in the breakdown
Caught in the breakdown
Caught in the breakdown
Caught in the breakdown
Caught in the breakdown
Caught in the breakdown
Breakdown
Caught in the breakdown

It Will Not Take Too Long For Me To Learn To Live Alone
alone i come
from my own trail of mud and grass. My feet wet with mud
and my palms are thick-skinned.
I am familiar with the road
and the labyrinths talk to me in my own language.
alone i come
and we meet, and we become lovers, like the lone star
and the full moon one night
too close for each
other's delight.
alone i come and we become one.
the demands however have become
too many. That i wash my feet before i enter your stairs.
You always hush when i do not comb
my hair like the way the waves clean the shores.
You want to change my shadow.
Or the color of my dreams.
It is enough. Alone i come and i shall talk to the labyrinths
again. I will be back to the fold of their arms.
We will arrange for a secret welcome.
Alone i go.
I am very sorry. You cannot follow.

Something To Live For
(hymas / brown)
Weve seen so many towns
Where the trains dont ever stop
Though we hear all night sounds
Theres no side left to the shop
Nothing but changes of face
That life arranges
Nothing but strangeness that wastes
Anything it replaces
Weve seen so many dreams
Floating out into the tide
Theyre never what they seem
And theres emptiness inside
Nothing but changes of face
That life arranges
Nothing but strangeness that wastes
Anything it replaces
Keep pushing tomorrow
You might just find
Something to live for
Keep hustling tomorrow
You might just find
That elusive something
Weve got so many ways
To take the world apart
And almost no one stays
If they make it from the start
Nothing but changes of face
That life arranges
Nothing but strangeness that wastes
Anything it replaces
Keep pushing tomorrow
You might just find
Something to live for
Keep hustling tomorrow
You might just find
Something to live for
Keep pushing tomorrow
You might just find
Something to live for
Keep hustling tomorrow
Until you find that elusive something

Lovers Walk
I wont walk with my head bowed
(be on) beyond caution where lovers walk
My love walks where threes a crowd
Beyond caution where lovers walk
Lovers walk, lovers scramble
Beyond caution where the lovers walk
Lovers step, shuffle and gamble
Beyond caution where lovers walk
Lovers trip, lovers stumble
Lovers dip, lovers fumble
Lovers lip where love has crumbled
Beyond caution where lovers walk
Lovers strut, lovers stroll, lovers leap
Lovers late, lovers wait
Making promises that they cant keep
Lovers link up arm and arm
Lovers slink up, lovers charm
Lovers drink up and come to harm
Beyond caution where lovers walk
Love is gone and its no ones fault
Love has stopped here, lovers halt
Lovers dont walk, lovers run
Will you look what love has done
Will you look what love has done
Will you look what love has done
Beyond caution where lovers walk
Now loves limping on a lovers crutch
Looking for a hand with a personal touch
Beyond caution where lovers walk

This is love
This is love: to fly toward a secret sky,
to cause a hundred veils to fall each moment.
First, to let go of live.
In the end, to take a step without feet;
to regard this world as invisible,
and to disregard what appears to be the self.
Heart, I said, what a gift it has been
to enter this circle of lovers,
to see beyond seeing itself,
to reach and feel within the breast.
Silence When Speaks
the silence still speaks of all secrets
even the untold story of love in the hide
when whispers being seemingly wordless
webbing the hearts by the soul immortal
rhythm when expands by the crooning
heart still talks even being wordless
never when listless by the deep silence
single word even curves the art of love
love still whispers by the art of silence
love still rhythms triggering the impulse
art when rills across the silence by the eyes
even being speechless when undisclosed
in its room of secret by the walls of mute veil
stance yet intoxicated by the quiet nod
story of love when courses upon by the blue
yet the thunder talks even being wordless
muse of flow relentless swing as wordless
