Wonderfully Her

She walks slowly but assertively
With all contentment at heart and lively
All years have gone by and borne fruit
Tree has grown big with lot many branches in it

She has reason for everything to rejoice
Life has almost fulfilled all the promises
With great grand children playing around her
She is all for happiness and never to bother

She stares at me with joy and surprises
She is early riser and devises
Program for whole day to the precision
With and only with her decision

'I will not mind' to die in your presence
She will tell sometimes and it puzzles me as an instance
She quotes many sayings in this regard at ease
I sometimes think of her brush it off with peace

Almost 42 years of loving memory
She has never made me to feel sorry
Even though there were many ups and down
But never did she feel bad or frowned

Her devotion stands sacrificial and unique
She may compromise for everything and never stick
To make her wish known or force for implementation
She is known for her patience with full indication

Friends and relatives always admire her nature
Even though I was lucky to have her as partner
All these years she has stood behind me like rock
Ready to serve me in any capacity from her energy stock

I wish her to be same till the last leg of journey
Even though I am little romantic as poet in her way
I have witnessed all her years as tough husband
She has stood her test well and always tried to understand

Oh, Son

Oh, son where were you all these years!
I wanted to hear that sweet voice of yours
In this lovely world I missed you for long time
You were not even asking me in prayer times

What has happened to you?
You were obedient, honest and true
What made you to be of forgetful nature?
You schooling, education and everything was made very much sure

You used to come and weep by my bed side
I could feel the tears dropp and the words you wanted to confide
I was helpless my dear son when you were just a kid
I was moved by your presence and it spun my head

I left this beautiful land on fateful day
I knew you were dragged and taken away
Your crying words still echo ears
I could understand your pain and fears

Years after years have turned into decades
My memory is now completely faded
You were not to find single second for mother
What was reason for all these years to bother?

I heard little fainted voice from distance
I loved some words closely for instance
You were asking for few minutes to talk
How can I afford to neglect you and walk away?

For all these years you might have been busy with your family?
May be facing tough life for scaling ladder not available readily
Yet it speaks of ignorance and ungratefulness on your part?
The life might have brought you glory but what a bad end with good start

Now you have found the little time
That too after retirement when no one hears you sometimes
It speaks of little childish attitude
But all my feelings for you do not dilute

For all these years you did not care
To see agony on my face and bothered
Mothers are still mothers and shall remain unique
Forget everything even if lately offered kick

I have no words to offer
As not many people may differ
Speak in different tone and not side
But I am always with you whenever you face danger and collide

The Promises We Made

The old place,
has changed a lot.
Since I’ve been away.
But I have not forgot.
The promises,
we made that day.

Many years have passed on by.
We can’t put them to one side.
Nor can we,
brush away tears through the years,
we’ve cried.

Though I love you,
much more than I did then.
Things have happened though the years,
we can’t change.
You are married now.
Have to keep you husband’s table laid.
So we’ll not keep,
those promises we made.

Birthday

Hello lovely, Happy Birthday to you
How greatly we feel to look at through
Your eyes, your smiles and your cry
With your lovely look you feel very shy

We had waited for this day to come
After many years we saw you and welcome
Be our old age stick and lead to the door
When you find us helpless and poor

Now we are all delighted
As you have made home illuminated
What all we have is your first entry
We are all delighted and very happy

You may have god’s blessing
Till this time we were it missing
How come your grand arrival?
We feel to celebrate it as great carnival

You brought us full truck load of joy
Tomorrow we may not be here to enjoy
Take us to the last end of our journey
Make us all worthy for it enjoy

Years may pass by and you will grow
We all may perish from land and go
As river does not stop its flow
You spread the fragrance as wind gently blow

27 Years! ! ! ! !

27 years of my life-
I lived like a wife,
waiting for my husband kiss;
Which i always missed.

27 years of my life -
Waited all the nights,
To share my happiness and sadness;
And i felt it was madness.

27 years of my life-
I spent with unknown husband,
Who has time to work;
And I felt like a jerk.

27 years of my life-
I spent with boredom,
And being a loyal wife;
I lost my freedom.

After 27 years of my life-
I still feel something missing,
I still keep looking;
And still waiting.
And the next 27 years will pass by:
Without my husband near by.

I Was Made To Feel Different In My Younger Years

I remember sitting in the corners of shadows.
Wishing to be invisible,
After making attempts to disappear.

I was made to feel different in my younger years.

My voice was deep at the age of twelve.
And my knees knocked.
I was aware I walked pigeon toed.

I was made to feel different in my younger years.

People were quick to critique me then.
When they would laugh at me.
I laughed right back at them to hide and cry alone.

I was made to feel different in my younger years.

I grew wiser before I aged.
And years it would take for me to learn to forgive.
But I did with a doing successfully.

I was made to feel different in my younger years.

Perceptive, empathetic and sometimes distant.
Removed from anguish I knew others felt.
Yet today I might sit with periodic embitterness.

I was made to feel different in my younger years.

I've learned to use my talents and gifts,
To lift me beyond any loneliness that visited.
And with slow and painful steps I grew to improve.

I was made to feel different in my younger years.
And when I self examine to reflect...
So happy I am to have held on to my patience,
With a giving to others a respect regardless...
If little of it was shown to me,
When I was growing to bloom.

I was made to feel different in my younger years.
Hungering then to be accepted.
I was made to feel different in my younger years.
Hungering then not to be neglected.

This Years Girl

See her picture in a thousand places
cause shes this years girl.
You think you all own little pieces
Of this years girl.
Forget your fancy manners,
Forget your english grammar,
cause you dont really give a damn
About this years girl.
Still youre hoping that shes well spoken
cause shes this years girl.
You want her broken with her mouth wide open
cause shes this years girl.
Never knowing its a real attraction,
All these promises of satisfaction,
While shes being bored to distraction
Being this years girl.
Times running out. shes not happy with the cost.
Thered be no doubt, only shes forgotten
Much more than shes lost.
A bright spark might corner the market
In this years girl.
You see yourself rolling on the carpet
With this years girl.
Those disco synthesizers,
Those daily tranquilizers,
Those body building prizes,
Those bedroom alibis,
All this, but no surprises for this years girl.
All this, but no surprises for this years girl.
All this, but no surprises for this years girl.

My Friends Back In My Prime Years

My friends back in my prime years I never did disown
It's just that I live far from them and apart we have grown
We drank and played football together but our separate ways we've gone
And we have forged new friendships and life of course goes on.

My friends back in my prime years may now look a bit gray
And they might not know me or I might not know them if by chance we met today
In my memory they have remained young but in reality
The years have left their mark on them as the years have left their mark on me.

Old father time the aloof one to anyone doesn't bow
And some of my friends of my prime years may be grand parents now
Perhaps they now are showing their age and time has left them slow
They could run fast as I recall some twenty years ago.

My friends back in my prime years I may now not recognize
For time leaves it's mark on all of us I've come to realize
I drunk beer with them in the pub and with them played football
And that was many years ago as I can well recall.

Quality

It seems like a lifetime that I’ve been standing here,
but I remember when I was new and full of fear.
I didn’t know where I would be sent or where I’d stand,
or whether I’d be treated with a respectful hand.

I needn’t have worried I’ve always been cared for
wherever I’ve been placed, on whatever floor.
Through every new door that I’ve passed through
I’ve always stood proud and faced changes new.

In the war years I suffered minor knocks and scrapes,
and was hidden from view behind old drapes.
When it was over; I was found by a kind young man
who cared for me, and made me feel new again.

He and his wife watched over me for many more years
and when they died I again became full of fears.
Anxiously I stood alone for quite some time
feeling old and dejected, and past my prime.

However, one day a lady made such a fuss of me
and took me to her home across the sea.
And for many years since I’ve been looked upon,
as an example of quality of an age now gone.

Mom, I miss you

Today is important day in my life
I found good partner in life as wife
It was great moment and your last wish,
Life is going smooth with fine finish

Your seed plant has now grown into big tree
I look back with satisfaction and feel free
Mom, it was you who nurtured me well,
Life otherwise would have been simple hell,

You fed me on ideals with honest means,
You neither yielded to temptation nor leaned by any means
You took stock of situation promptly and acted
Never acted in haste and reacted

I cherish your memory when I am at ease
How can I try your memory to be erased
You were always there to guide me in dream
In darkest hour you come as sun ray’s beam,

I have finest hour in life and place to remember
As youngest son I was naughty member
So much damage caused by me but you didn’t count number,
Though quite number of times I bowed and apology tendered

Suddenly I come to realize and raise look towards sky
Tears rush in eyes with tremendous force to cry
After passing of so many years you are still at heart,
You had so much devotion with concealing art

Twinkling stars and open sky resemble your smile
I see you in them there though they are away by many miles
As you used to do, Moon light shower silver blessings,
Body feels gentle touch as if with your sweet kissing

You used to run your fingers in thick hair deposits
I was compulsorily made to obey by her and sit
She may comb the hair to make me look good
Later on to serve with delicious and testy food

No compromise for hard work and study
She was stubborn with approach and strong lady
No one could dare to oppose her not even daddy
I was to gear up for everything and say ready

These were the happy moments I miss all along
I considered my self happiest person among
Had you ever been here for this happy occasion?
I considered it rare opportunity to be enjoyed by any person,

I have desire to offer you mom a beautiful flower,
you smile again from sky and bless the shower,
I shall consider it heavenly offer and receive as small child,
I miss you mom so much as you had always been very kind and mild

Future Is Promises

I saw him today at the station
There was something on his mind
I felt I was on the devils mission
Trying to steal him from a friend
I know it hurts you
And you cant ask why
I know it hurts you
Takes a train to cry
Your only future is promises
For so many years
Your only future is promises
I know you can make it if you try
Youve been living life in the past
Im gonna reach out Im gonna grab your heart
Youve been living life in the eyes of a stranger
Youve gotta free your mind
Cause I want to get nearer
Your only future is promises
For so many years
Your only future is promises
I know you can make it if you try
Take the chance and make the move
But dont think that I will approve
For once Ive finally realised
Being with her wasted your life
Your only future is promises
For so many years
Your only future is promises
I know you can make it if you try
Your only future is promises
For so many years
Your only future is promises

Peaceful mind

"Some thing is not there" I cried
"It is missing some where" I decried
Wealth is in plenty and in abundance
I am richest person in world by chance

Two sons, daughters and relatives all stand
They know me well and coolly understand
I need something else to feel satisfied
As they are very close but whole life lied

What made me to feel at uneasiness?
Why was there not all happiness on face?
"If I had no wealth" would they have stood by?
I desperately searched to find answer and made frantic try

No answer came by but added new feature
Now what I understood is naked fact for sure
All are aligned to me for one reason or another
Otherwise there is no wife, children or brother

I will be no more in few more days
That will open free fight for them anyway
There will be tug of war for inheriting fortune
Everybody will be surprised to find none

I have taken full care of my empire
There is hardly anything to acquire
I have left enough for destitute and poor
I shall have some joy to feel them near

Not that I have left them bare handed
Enough care has been taken to see they are not landed
In troubles and face lot many problems
As everything is now dependant on them

I was restless with only one fear
That they may fight over wealth among dear ones
This should not create bad blood and maintain harmony with peace
Life then would pose no problem for them to live at ease

With this little assurance provided by peaceful mind
I turned my eyes to look at them very kind
I smiled at them with great satisfaction
That itself was source of less worry with good indication

Piano Picker

Everybody always ask me
How I got to play so fine
And friends, Im gonna tell ya
It really did take some time
Yes, after years and years of practice
And a case of real bad knees
While the other guys were out playin with the football
I was home bangin on the keys
And it got me
(*) right where I am
This is me
Playing the piano
I hope ya like what I do
Its for you
And Ill try and sing right too
I guess Im really very lucky
That Ive got this thing to play
cause it can really make me feel good
Even when its cloudy and grey
Yes, after years and years of practice
And awful allergies that made me sneeze
And now the other guys are out playin with their girlfriends
And I was still bangin on the keys
And it got me
Repeat (*)

A Message To The 77 Years Olds.

I passed 77 years old yesterday,
Looking forward peace, self confidence & health in every way.
This will be the 12th 7 year cycle for me,
When joy for ever should start and I am happy to be with Thee.

I let go all the misery of the past,
Open my mind for true happiness at last,
Let come everything to me easily,
Never more problems, just the best of life daily.

I open my mind to be able to handle everything
With ease and enjoyment under God's wing.
Let come what was meant to me from the beginning,
Live my life in true happiness & my praises I gratefully sing.

Believe it or not this message was meant
For all who passed 77 years age,
Do your best to find true contentment
And happiness in your life's voyage.

Let go the destroying will,
Let God guide and show you how to stand still.
Let peace, kindness & contentment be your guide,
Be a traveler of life's road, let God give you the ride.

A Dog's Life

Sixteen years, now almost seventeen,
I've played at stick and ball, stayed seldom still
until good master's call would whistle shrill
to lead me back - no need to smack. Sight keen.

Sixteen years tail's wagged as faithful friend,
as boon companion, running round fun years.
His mother passed away, I shared the tears
that fountained forth and never seemed to end.

Sixteen years round each revolving moon
from hearth and home I pick up slightest sound,
ears prick, eyes bright, in sight I'm always found
to hold my ground, though often play buffoon.

Sixteen years, come rain or shine, we walk
twice, sometimes thrice a day, I sense each smell
around the house, tell friends from rascals well,
and after dinner hear the table talk.

Sixteen years from pet to family,
from playful pat to priceless kith and kin,
I vet as threat who'd twins' affections win,
can smell a rat or chase cat up a tree.

Sixteen years I've watched the children grow,
suffered unruly hands that now caress,
I guard them still, still at the same address,
as I will willing till my turn to go.

Sixteen years saw summers shedding hair,
saw autumns' colours charm birds from the trees,
saw winter whiteness whose bare branches' frieze
prepared for springs unbounded, weather fair.

Sixteen years, milk - nap - home-made pap brew,
from toothless start, heart full, until depart,
toothless, heart filled beyond all man may chart,
life's cycle spins till ready to renew.

Sixteen years that gambolled life away,
with water, beef and bone, I've played at will.
Scents seem less sharp today, and soon I will
make my last bow - still in thrill dreams I play!

For My Sister On Her Sixty- Fifth Birthday

FOR MY SISTER ON HER SIXTY- FIFTH BIRTHDAY

Where have the years gone?
My sister -
The most beautiful the kindest little girl on First Street Troy New York
Is sixty-five years old today-
Where have the years gone?
How can I ever thank her
For the devotion with which she cared for my parents
In those most difficult last years?
How can I ever say how much her being the only witness
Left with me of that world then
Means to me?
How can I say how happy I am for her
That she has raised with her husband
Four loving and caring daughters
That she made quite late in life
A name and career for herself?
Above all that she is still the good caring person
Who with her mother’s practicality
Makes the best of what life gives.
My prayer is for health and blessing for her
And her family
In the years ahead.
God gave me only one sister
Thank God it is Joycie.

Ell Briddley

Ell Briddley she knows of the hard side of life
For many years she has been a battered wife
Her late husband Jake often bashed her and their only child Joe
He succumbed to cancer some five years ago.

Her twenty years of marriage one might say tough
And of marriage she feels she's had more than enough
The reason is not hard to understand why
That she will not give marriage another try.

At her husband's passing she did not shed tears
She feels her life with him were sad wasted years
Her son Joe is married in a distant town with a one year old son
And she feels quite proud of how well he has done.

Ell Briddley she is fifty seven years old
And for her years she is attractive to behold
To a few proposals of marriage she has said no
She is one who will not give marriage another go.

Ell Briddley is a happy woman today
And the single life seems to suit her okay
For falling for Jake she paid the bitter price
And now she will remain as single by choice.

Look Forward

I feel same sun shine everyday
As usual appearance of bright rays
Normal movement on the road with fresh start
To enjoy the life and know it as real art

Yes for god only knows since how many years
The sun and moon without single miss fail to appear
We on earth count days and time for New Year
Where as nature has already blessed us for not to fear

Nature comes to you not as surprise
It is with full of energy and surprises
If we are generous enough to pick it as chance
We must look back and evaluate it ourselves once

Why we want to have fun fare with any reason?
Nothing was wrong through out the year with seasons
We only had some bitterness with some of the persons
We forgot to know the real blessings favored upon

I shall look towards sky and pray for its vastness
Looks hollow yet how much greatness on face?
Light, dark, sun and moon along with stars find refuge
Yet we raise doubt and argue with the thoughts to refuse

Let us celebrate end of the year as not bye gone time
It might have been unfavorable to us sometimes
But over all it might have proved beneficial to us
Let us be grateful for what was given to us with trust

Let us look forward for some more bright days ahead
Life is uncertain and demands from us to offer lead
Try and make efforts to catch danger in time or read
Try to maintain peace at heart till you are dead

Make it worth that you are leading as human being
World is not limited for rich people or kings
They have come and gone still world remains same
Let us claim ourselves as worthy children and not feel shame

When it is known to us that life has limited span
We needn’t have reason to rejoice for any future plan
Tackle it honestly with much fun fare and rejoice
New Year or bye gone remains to be seen as our choice

Line of the border

Joy and happiness is to be felt alone
It comes only when something good is done
Not only happiness but contentment also when dream is fulfilled
Each time you meet relatives you remain smiled

Nature is partly responsible for such pleasant thing
How flowers attract you and when birds sing?
The whole garden seems to have geared up to welcome
Such nice thing will surely elate you when happiness comes

I see family member in complete harmony with each other
Each one is greeted in morning and they lot more to offer
I live peacefully with them and enjoy later part
As all these year I had been busy making them reliant and smart

Ultimate result is before me and they have come up well
They are all before me with some achievement to tell
Some one is true professional and some one is genuine artist
I take pride in their over all success and never interfere or insist

The greatest moment in life is birth of grand children
I had never dreamed of it or expected even
That occasion has taken us all by surprise
Now a complete family stands before me with full of promises

I am grandmother now with full of contentment
Happiness reflect on face with such moments
I take them near and embrace to chest
The principal is in tact and some thing is earned as interest

I might have put hard worked for their grooming
Fruits are largely handing on tree or looming
I shall see then as large tree in coming days
Nature is very kind in granting us the beautiful ways

I love then all with no room to complain
Old age bothers but not with worries and pain
Everything goes on smoothly and in order
My age has also reached to thin line of the border

Shikaiya (For Billy)

Five years old
And life had made me shy
I'm telling you
Shikaiya made me feel like I could fly
And there she was
So crazy but she was on fire
A smile behind the door of every answer
to my questions
You made it seem like everything was possible
That's where you stood out from everybody elese
Shikaiya , yeah
That's what you're about and
you should never lose yourself
Shikaiya , yeah
Down the phone
Years and miles apart
We try to find the magic we used to bounce
From heart to heart
But you don't seem to believe in anything today
I wonder if your dreams got smashed
upon the rocks of Bateau Bay
You made me feel like every wave is beautiful

Four Years Old

Hey
Why'd you wake me from my nap?
I'm not in the mood
To play your games
Or sit on your lap

You
Where's my Yankees drinking glass?
I want some juice
And I want it now
So you better move your ass
And feel bad for me
'Cuz I'm just getting over a cold

I'm four years old!
I'm four years old!
I'm four years old!
Somebody better tie my shoes!

Now
I run down the hall
I scream and I yell
And I cry 'cuz I fell
Bring the rubbing alcohol

Outside
I get mud on my shoe
I come back in the house
I get it on the rug
The cleanging's up to you
And I won't take a bath
Unless you make me Spaghetti-O's

I'm four years old!
I'm four years old!
I'm four years old!
Mommy reads to me at night
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

Well
I can't have a job
And I can't go to school
If no grownups are around
I can't go near the pool
I'm not alowed to climb
My neighbor's apple tree
I'm not allowed to sit
Too close to the TV
I don't know how to drive
And I don't know how to spell
But if I hear my brother cursing
I do know how to tell
'Cuz he made me eat some bread
That was covered in mold

I'm four years old!
I'm four years old!
I'm four years old!
I just threw up on my grandmother
