Remembering Tiananmen

Fateful day and long twenty years,
Eyes stunned and refused by ears,
Refused to see rising Sun and rays,
Heart feeling pain and parting ways,

First shot fired on students,
Killing on the spot to stop movements,
World amused and witnessed event,
It was hell let loose and reprisals sent,

Asking for simple change in system?
As clouds forming from boiling stem,
Warning signals and stern action for them,
Not seen motto behind but only theme,

Outcry for human rights violations,
Many argued for severing relations,
All in vain and fell on deaf years,
All forgotten as matter of yesteryears,

Still no fresh air to breath,
Allegiance by force under oath,
No freedom on this free world,
Termed as rioters and murdered in cold,

Your struggle may open new chapter,
World may not take lightly with laughter,
Movement so popular and sought after,
Sunny days after heavy and severe winter,

Your voice might have died out and forgotten,
We appreciated your way and pattern,
It was matter of pride and concern,
Whatever may be consequences and warning stern?

We will surge ahead and cherish,
Battle begun and just not finish,
All peace lovers may get together and wish,
In troubled water not allowed to fish

Let there be joy

Why there should be any fear?
When x-mas has brought so many cheers
Love is call and love for all
Let us celebrate it without further fall

Let us not forget the true spirit
Let love lamp glow within but not become dimly lit
Let us bond the harmony with great care
Only love to be seen and never to stare

What will be remembered this year?
Not a gun shot heard in lovely ear
All seems to look as nightmare
We have right place to leave here

This is heaven and same is hell
All can we do is to make it well
Breathe in open space and celebrate with freedom
Nice thinking with noble ideas attached with wisdom

Let us mark it with global wish
Let beautiful pond not be poisoned for fish
Let her move freely in the space
Why have we to prefer any mad race?

Bury the hatred and push it in burner
Let peace return not later but sooner
Let new era open with warm welcome
Real festivities for all and not for some

I wish the sun to turn the heat on
Burn the flames for peace to be won
No more hostilities and mark with joy
Let New Year come with no more decoy

Thousands may flock and flood the street
Exchange of happiness and joy when they greet
Many may seek blessings and catch the elder’s feet
It will be new beginning of year with lovely meet

All those years we were starved of peace
The life was hell and never at ease
It is god’s direction to let loose the hook
Let us be one again to open new chapter in book

No one may remember what we did in past
All will remember how we came back fast
Nothing is forgotten and nothing will be remembered
All eyes are on new thrust and that will be respected

We will be remembered as new initiator
As if lovely role played by the mediator
It will be great sign with powerful indicator
No one may put spanner and prove as instigator

Everything to work in systematic and sincere pattern
It is the only one and great concern
We have lived together and would continue to do so
Let the bye gone years be forgotten and peacefully go

A hurrah in sky with cheerful voices
Let year be marked with great noise
Nothing can stop us from enjoying due
Let it be marred by disgruntled and few

I Was Always Angry

Whole world hides
in your liquid eyes,
I need to return to my consciousness,
to change my verse.
The dry air has wiped out the beautiful words
sitting on the edge, of a meaning
I write a new song.

Discovering your forgotten self,
was a pain,
I always avoided.
Years touched me softly,
on the temples in vain.
Dumb I was with grief, threading a pile of memories,
to know my other self.

Somewhere a god smiles on me.
God of my mud & water,
wide open like a father,
who never died.
The moon slaughters my clouds.
I was always angry,
with my odd appearance.

Should have not

As a male I should have not cried
All tears put out and eyes got dried
Something really worried from inside
I wanted some one close to confide

It is human mind that weeps
All sentimental tears do not keep
Within or forcefully contained
It is helplessness that has been maintained

Draughts and river floods cause anxiety
Earth quakes and bomb blasts make to feel sorry
Crush of freedom and liberty causes the anguish
Little tease troubles heart to pump the blood and finish

Medical aid is rushed to the troubled spot
People donate generously in quantity and lot
That shows how much we care for our brethren elsewhere
Show the solidarity and voice concern everywhere

To loose human life is serious loss
As it has not occurred due to natural cause
We are concerned with unnatural deaths
Where for little negligence we have to lay a wreath

Human heart stays with full of compassion
Shows love and attachment with obsession
We may be living far off from each other
Yet we wish them good luck and bother

Not all the people may be leading descent way
There may be so much pain to bear with in the way
A life is worst than animal yet we call it human
It can be understood as living hell by even layman

Let us form human chain all over the world
Where such events are noted and all over told
It is our main concern to rush for the rescue
Life has been termed as precious so deserves to be viewed

Herculean task

Lately world leaders have consented to some session
May be Herculean task but agreed to reduce tension
Hunger, death and starvation looming over horizon
Atmosphere is also not favourable with depletion of ozone’s

We are spending millions on outer space
May we call it futile and mad race?
Even one percent of it may reduce the poverty
Need not watch countless deaths with pity

How much do we loose on internal fights?
Why scores of people loose over legitimate rights?
Even land of liberty face danger and not feel at ease
Have they no right to continue and live with peace?

Our forefathers had dreamed of free world
Warm relations with all and war hysteria in cold
They gave us freedom with thought of expression
No to all measures which lead to suppression

I think it may take very long years
Good appeals may also fall on deaf ears
Weak may have fear of complete annihilation
Sovereignty and legitimacy may loose its relation

Some of worst fears are likely to disappear
World may live in peace and no constant fear
Peace efforts may yield result but brunt bear
No War, no war but peace words we may hear

Over the years we lived under constant shadow
War hysteria and no room for peace window
How many have lost lives leaving behind widows
Can’t we honestly adhere and take simple vows

Generations after generation may inherit the legacy
Hate and distrust may rule and have fallacy
Let us build good foundation to last for long
History may judge and not prove us wrong

Be the first to rise from the grave
You are sons of soils and equally brave
It is you who will lead the peaceful world
Always happiness with constant fears at hold

Am cruel

I am cruel but not kind
I have eyes but still blind
Path wide open but no decision
Nothing to see with blurred vision

Can I be termed as simple curse?
No attachment and good feeling to nurse
I am human being still of course
You lead me to the light and show the course

I am burden and useless force
I have no means to know it from any source
I have been misguided and taken to extreme
I have disregarded even authority supreme

I forgot to take short note
My ship was simply afloat
It has no gadget to find direction
It may sink any time with simple action

What makes me so arrogant and proud?
Why I don’t keep shut and speak so loud?
Why my feet are not firmly placed on the ground?
I am not sure whether my mortal will ever be found

I never thought of being alone
The property can be destroyed by cyclone
The trees can be uprooted from the roots
Why was I thumping unnecessarily the foot?

I am hundred percent sure to perish
The life may soon end or finish
I don’t have to perform such foolish venture
What Am I gathering here for simple future?

I need to awake for better world
Sunny days and no bitter cold
I will suffer here only as it has been told
I shall have no soul but left with enough gold

I need to catch popular pulse
All negative ideas must be repulsed
Share the grief and be very brief
This may grant me some momentary relief

Hell! I am going to take you to the police

1
oh boy! you have done it again
my repeated warning's have all gone in vain
i am sick of you showing me your pain
you will not listen that's for sure
you will keep coming towards me as if i were your's
that's it i have had enough
it's time for me to play it rough
hell it's time for me to take you to the police
as that's the only way for me to get some peace

2
if you put anything about me on the net
it's prision time for you, you bet
have a coffee with you huuh! you must be kidding
what do you think i am your love pudding
get out of my office or i will call security
next time my dear i will show no pity
this time i have let you off
but next time in the celler you will cough
hell! i am going to take you to the police

3
stop stop don't usher me in
going down with you in the same lift will be a sin
get off my case you crazy head
i am not going to jump with you in the bed
have a coffee with you? only after i am dead
leave me alone leave me in peace
otherwise i will take you to the police!

4
stop your antics and stop them now
my warnings have all gone un headed
you have for two years with me pleaded
i will die hungry but will not sleep for a role
if you come close to me next time i will hit you with a pole
hell! i am going to take you to the police

5
i always stop from doing the un-thinkable
may be because deep down i know you are a simple soul
pure of heart just like me
caught up in this world of insanity
but if you keep pestering me i will take you to the police
so go now and leave me in peace

hell i am going to take you to the police! ........................................

The World Beyond - A Place of Mystery

Chapter One:
the begin

life is a cycle
but not quite a trifle...
the world around us
a world of mystery
we may not understand
what is at hand
for this is the world around us
for understanding the world
is understanding a dropp in the ocean
we have the world
a world that we do not understand
if we discover the world's secrets
we will know that drop
and we will fully make sense of life
we are the world
the world is us
thus being the key to the world's secret doors
the doors to knowledge
we must live our purpose
each creature learning more and more
until the world we know
is six feet above us
our world is coming to an end
the world we know of
the world we understand
yet don't understand
we must fix what we have done.....
the stars were bright
at the dawn of our flight
for our world had begun
the world we cherish
the world we know
but don't know
the world beyond
the dinosaurs we know so little about
how they stood for so many years
a mystery to us
imagine
the world
our world
intertwining in the footsteps
with the world we do not understand
chaos would turn to peace
imagine
our world
and the world beyond
together as one
peace and harmony
hatred and chaos
our world will have both
until we know
what we do not know
does not have to stay a mystery
now you shall know
the world beyond us
what is the world beyond us
the world we do not understand
and so we begin
the world above
the world below
our souls our colliding
and so I write this
our making
our design
just a dropp in the ocean
but with that drop
there can be another dropp saved
and a complete change in this world
we underestimate those drops
causing frustration and dislike
for it is not possible to do the impossible
unless the possible is done

Chapter two:
no choice
(the present day)

the world around us
its melting
our time is running out
the mystery we face
is an understanding that some do not have
those who understand
must help those who don't understand
to understand
thus making a difference in the environment
once the environment is fixed
we must keep it fixed
of face tragic consequences

Violence Fills The Earth

As the earth fills with violence, there seems to be much silence,
In the professing Body of Christ, regarding darkness in this life,
Of the things believers are told, the love of most will grow cold,
Has that coldness hindered us, form speaking for Christ Jesus?

Christ asked will He find faith, as He returns at the end of Grace,
A vibrant faith that will uphold, all of His teachings we were told,
Even His teaching on warning friend, about darkness in the end,
With all the darkness in this world, God's Truths we must herald!

As the days of Noah would be, that violence in our time we see,
Upon which judgment shall fall, on all the living, great and small;
This is God's warning to all men, that Judgment is coming again,
Onto all the world as a whole, God's stern warning to every soul!

Even in the time of Abraham, we have a warning from the 'I AM.'
His warning upon two cities, Sodom and Gomorrah for atrocities,
Cities Christ would also mention, this my friend with His intention,
Pointing out what lies ahead, for men who remain spiritually dead.

So we're watchmen on the wall, to warn of judgment ahead for all,
As we point all those in this life, to Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ,
To leave the world's wickedness, to come into His Righteousness,
So they don't see judgment friend, but, Eternal Life come the end.

A freedom is won

To free from yoke is called freedom
It is arising out of great struggle and wisdom
It has no parallel in history and forgotten seldom
It is great occasion as freedom is won

It is considered holier than holy
It is celebrated with fun fare and enjoyed wholly
It is considered as unique occasion
It has been realized through wisdom and vision

No one may prefer long domination
It will result into hatred and alienation
It will give rise to rebellion and mutiny
The powerful kingdom may be reduced as small or tiny

It gives rise to national sentiments
There is always popular movement
It is backed by aspirations and hatred
They are all out to lead and to be led

Have you even seen the joy and happiness in animal?
When they are freed from captivity from arrival?
We are human being and have some powerful thinking
How can any right person may prefer to witness sinking?

Everybody is driven by simple logic
No one should be kept under yoke without any basic
It can not be the power game or show of strength
We are prepared to sacrifice and go to any length

God has made us free and sent as such for mission
We may be subjected to an act of omission and emission
But it an never be the sole aim of domination
No country may prefer to be called a slave nation

No one can keep it for long and rule with peace
It may be temporary lull or truce
The hidden lava may erupt to engulf all
It may then amount to disappearance and fall

No one has survived or tolerated the subjugation
Either its s bloodbath or peaceful anticipation
The outcome is definitely on expected lines
The sun is emerging with powerful shine

It may add to more or existing agony and pain
The phase may be called critical and uncertain
It might have played havoc with the system
It was so far not realized by them

It is possible that you may be treated even shabbily
You may face misrule and can't digest it happily
The freedom struggle had last long with enormous losses
Now there may be fight for becoming the head or bosses

We may have complete say in internal matter
We may be recognized as peace lover and trend setter
What are we going to offer to the free world?
Will it be an attempt to push them back to the arena of cold?

Free, Male, & Twenty-one

Were free
Were male
Were twenty-one
Free, male, and twenty-one
Free, male, and twenty-one
Its not enough to be twenty-one and free
Its not the same as male and twenty-one
Free, male, and twenty-one
This is such a fine distinction
The career that weve begun
I just made twenty-one
Im old enough to run
For congressman or clerk of the public works
Or dogcatcher or something just as dumb
If I should choose to run
I make no exaggeration
Just a statement of the facts
Now Im second generation
And I am manly to the max
And no one can decree
Just who I have to be
The choice is up to me
And if I could be anything, Id be
Male and twenty-one
Its nice to be a man
I use it all I can
I never had a choice for a higher voice
But I have to say Im glad to be a man
Since this is what I am
Sigmund freud may have a crisis
With his own identity
But theres nothing wrong with me
Because I enjoy being a boy
And all that it will say upon my resume
Free, male, and twenty-one
Free, male, and twenty-one
Free, male, and twenty-one
Free, male, and twenty-one
If I could change
Change anything, everything
Everything in the world
Then I would make
Half of the world
Free, male, and twenty-one
Free, male, and twenty-one
Free, male, and twenty-one
And I dont believe in heaven
What a let down it would be
And I hope theres not a hell
But there must be a God cause he made me
Free, male, and twenty-one
Theres got to be a God cause he made me
Male and twenty-one
Free, male, and twenty-one

A plan in advance

It is good to plan in advance
You have full time to think at once
You can make last minute change
It won’t be difficult to alter or manage

Many school of thoughts lay emphasis on present
Person should not worry unnecessarily and be physically absent
No moment should be wasted on unsecured tomorrow
Only hard efforts to be put up thrust to be allowed

You have full freedom to think and surge ahead
You are your own master to plan and lead
You are able to judge the action and read
The fate is uncertain and hangs on bare thread

We were given beautiful world to lead and live
They got us freedom to express and really believe
The danger lying ahead and to counter its menace
They stood high in our eyes with glorious face

They never wanted wanton killings and genocide
The fact was well before them to decide
It was to be a safe heaven for next generation
Nothing was left out to be worked out in desperation

What are we witnessing today?
No peaceful existence or open way
All sorts of terror attacks and reprisals
Denial for involvement soon with quick dismissals

Is this the world our forefathers had wanted?
Did they want that whole population to be shifted?
Did they want that the innocents to be executed?
Vanish from the face of earth with voice silently muted

why are we not allowed to raise the banner of freedom?
What language do they understand for the price of wisdom?
We have never come across the orgy of violence
we are sitting on volcano and fearing hence

Today we witness the people disappear in matter of seconds
They have become trigger happy and negatively respond
Do you think the citizens are meant for killer’s bullet?
Is there no place for peace to prevail with the help of ballets?

No heart can be won over by use of force
Love and affection is the only way of course
it may bring prosperity and brotherhood all over
why do we take shelter under the dark cover?

If extermination is the only option then we must opt
The tough stand to be taken and adopted
There is still chance for second thought
The street should not be raged with fight

Is there any scope for total peace?
Whom do we think can make life at ease?
Why still we look on with so much apathy?
Why do the intelligentsias not show the solidarity and sympathy?

Returning

Then - that tender, gentle age,
When I loved Jesus...
More than I knew the world.
And then - those difficult days,
When the world was heard, calling,
Swearing great allegiance to me...
I succombed, believed... finally fell.
Again and again;
Along I went, into the current.
The world became my obscurant.

How easily - and sadly - had I gone;
All that time, trying something to find,
Singing an obsequious song.
Though in the far distance - always - I heard
A much different sound,
True music played on, and on.
Not in my mind,
Not in my head,
Truth in my heart,
Refused to give me up
For dead.

God yet speaks.
The ears of a child within, listen.
The voice of all the sacred wisdom,
Of all the earth,
Calling; as regeneration comes forth.

I have found,
At the far end of myself,
The real beginning,
Of God's reign,
The fecund change -
That ever moves...
Yet, always remains.
Allowing myself to slip
Into pure freedom,
Finding I've lost nothing.
A peace to settle
The sauntering soul;
The necessity of simply being.

Now - I know the world -
And, I love God
More than the world can measure;
And here, I hope
To know him in tender true love,
Greater than ever.

-What horrors are wrought
Upon the innocents when taught
To honor the presses of time, those
That bear down the heart,
And those that turn around the mind;
What evils fraught, within young souls
Begun so pure,
Become the exiles,
That God alone can cure?

When oh Lord, will death be done,
When shall life's winter be 'oer?
- When, shines again, the light and warmth of the sun.
When I - and all - die no more.
- When I for he,
And he for me, in
That true tender, gentle love,
That only more than one alone can see,
Shall reside innocent, and eternally.

And beyond? - I am still returning.
Thus, lifelong shall I be;
Yet now - fully believing, by grace,
I am forever Gods - forever free.

'The end of all our exploring
Will be to arrive where we started
And know the place for the first time.'

Freedom

To free from bondage is called freedom
It is born out of struggle and wisdom
It can be armed struggle, uprising or mutiny
Its impact can be felt far off or near vicinity

It is collective and not single handedly fought
Not only involves liberation but freedom of thought
Clear vision with real goal is pursued and sought
Secure boundary is created and peace is brought

People might have suffered and under gone anguish
Pushed in jails for untold sufferings and to languish
Losses of precious human lives and resolve to perish
As freedom is not won in a single day or finished

It is holy task to liberate the land from foreign yoke
Continuous hard struggle and not a matter of joke
Many countries may not support cause and poke
They may thwart the movement under thick smoke

Freedom once won must be preserved with care
Affairs to be managed with no option to go any where
First, house should be put in order to make it reality
To meet people’s aspirations and work in unity

Hard won freedom should not be lost for silly reason
One should know the meaning of freedom of expression
It is of no use if we don’t come out of economic slavery
Country may loose independence despite bravery

Nobody is refugee here and it is home for all
National building poverty elimination should be call
Universal brotherhood and world peace should be the motto
Nobody should be deprived of life and sent or to ghetto

Freedom is won on certain ideals and principles
It may be hard for others to accept and act as disciples
Nothing should be allowed to run or go as contrary
Nation should represent truly and find place as honourary

Freedom should not to be compromised at any cost
Ideology may differ but national interest as super most
World should count on us as true friend and champion
Should have respectable position in affairs of the region

Even if as a power there should be honour for sovereignty
Help to poorer amongst poor and respect for integrity
Freedom and liberty can be enjoyed with grant of rights
End to hostilities and strong resolve to end fights

Appels Oranjes

what if the sun refused to shine?
what if the clouds refused to rain?
what if the wind refused to blow?
what if the seas refused to wave?
what if the world refused to turn?
what if the stars would hesitate?
what if, what is isn't true?
what are you going to do?
what if, what is isn't you?
does that mean you've got to lose?
digging for the feel of something new
what if the silence let you dream?
what if the air could let you breathe?
what if the words would bring you here?
what if this sound could bring you peace?
what if, what is isn't true?
what are you going to do?
digging for the feel of something new
what if, what is isn't you?
does that mean you've got to lose?
it came from your thoughts, your dreams and visions
ripped up from your weeks and indecisions
what if the sun refused to shine?
what if the clouds refused to rain?
what if the world refused to turn?
what if the clocks would hesitate?
what if, what is isn't true?

what if, what is isn't you?
does that mean you've got to lose?
digging for the feel of something new
does that mean you've got to choose?

The Lamb Of God

There was Christ in the metal shell
there was blood on the pavement
The camera will make you god
that's how Jack became sainted

If you die when there's no one watching
and your ratings drop and you're forgotten
if they kill you on their TV
you're a martyr and a lamb of god
nothing's going to change
nothing's going to change the world

There was Lennon and a happy gun
There were words on the pavement
we were looking for the lamb of god
we were looking for Mark David

If you die when there's no one watching
and your ratings drop and you're forgotten
if they kill you on their TV
you're a martyr and a lamb of god

Nothing's going to change the world
nothing's going to change
Nothing's going to change the world
nothing's going to change
the world

it took three days for him to die
the born again could buy the serial rights
lamb of god have mercy on us
lamb of god won't you grant us

Nothing's going to change the world
nothing's going to change
Nothing's going to change the world
nothing's going to change
the world

If you die when there's no one watching

I Am A Soldier

I am a soldier
It started as a dream, a simple soldier from the street getting lost in a shacking world
I took a job as a street keeper but in my mind I am a mental child
From time to time I would battle in my dream trying to win a lost war
I open my eyes in the middle of the day saying goodbye to my boss as I walk away
I walk down street only to tried my limit, in my mind, my distant is unlimited
In the world I am the forgotten soldier lost in an open battle field
“I am the forgotten soldier, living as a legend on the street of nowhere, trying to take my place in this world”
I tried to understand my place in this world as I look side to side
I turn around to see who is targeting this lost soldier
Is my lost soul still a threat in the eye s of the world or am I the forgotten soldier that was blindly cast out
Away in a mental battle field
Please remember this young soldier and help me find my way in what remain of me
I am the forgotten soldier living as a mist in the eye of many
I am a living legend on the street of no where
“I am the forgotten soldier, living as a legend on the street of nowhere trying to take my place in this world”
Find this forgotten soldier and welcome me in a peaceful neighborhood where my mind would freely win the war
“I am the forgotten soldier, living as a legend on the street of nowhere trying to take my place in this world”

All Those Years Ago

Im shouting all about love
While they treated you like a dog
When you were the one who had made it
So clear
All those years ago.
Im talking all about how to give
They dont act with much honesty
But you point the way to the truth when you say
All you need is love.
Living with good and bad
I always look up to you
Now were left cold and sad
By someone the devils best friend
Someone who offended all.
Were living in a bad dream
Theyve forgotten all about mankind
And you were the one they backed up to
The wall
All those years ago
You were the one who imagined it all
All those years ago.
Deep in the darkest night
I send out a prayer to you
Now in the world of light
Where the spirit free of the lies
And all else that we despised.
Theyve forgotten all about god
Hes the only reason we exist
Yet you were the one that they said was
So weird
All those years ago
You said it all though not many had ears
All those years ago
You had control of our smiles and our tears
All those years ago

A real chance

Can peace be not given a real chance?
What would happen if it tried at once?
No one is supposed to be bad at inner core
Only requires remote possibility to be explored?

Every heart beats for durable peace
Each and every individual wants to lead at ease
Who will want disturbed environment to lead?
The message is definitely understood and read

What forces us to be at logger heads and uneasy situation?
Why certain trouble spots be allowed to exist with its continuation?
Simple cosmetic surgery or casual care may not cure the ill
It certainly requires grater skill and strong will

We can understand the greed or lust for the land
We too can understand the long rivalry from friends
How can we afford it to continue for so many years?
We eagerly await the silence of guns in our ears

No matter how long we have remained as an enemy?
Not important how much treachery is committed by many?
It is still a long awaited peace trial for our survival
The sun will definitely shine more on its arrival

Some individuals may want it to worsen and add fuel
So many may come forward to play the role which is dual
Still it is not disheartening to hear some sincere efforts
Gradually it may be on wane with close and good rapports

It is not easy to spread the fire to neighborhood
It may engulf our own if not properly understood
Who will come forward and extinguish when faced with bitterness?
It is high time to wake up and show keenness and willingness

We have seen and witnessed the human tragedy in recent years
It is unbelievable and stories are refused to be heard by ears
How much colossal loss and disappearance of human lives in seconds?
No life, not even blade of grass and evaporation of water from ponds

Who is going to benefit from all this and at what cost?
When will it be realized by powerful or affected most?
Not that simple but not difficult also to be carried out
It is the only chance to be explored to avert the rout

Will we prefer to be called butchers or enemy of peace?
Will it not force us to rethink at the development of little tease?
I feel I am sworn enemy of hostility and futile wars
Not even sky will remain unaffected including stars

Apples + Oranges

What if the sun refused to shine?
What if the clouds refused to rain?
What if the wind refused to blow?
What if the seas refused to wave?
What if the world refused its turn?
What if the stars would hesitate?

What if what is isn't true?
What are you going to do?
What if what is isn't you?
Does that mean you've got to lose?
Digging for the feel of something new

What if the silence let you dream?
What if the air could let you breathe?
What if the words would bring you here?
What if this sound could bring you peace?

What if what is isn't true?
What are you going to do?
Digging for the feel of something new
What if what is isn't you?
Does that mean you've got to lose?

It came from your thoughts

Little Andrew

Air -- "Gypsy's Warning"

Andrew was a little infant,
And his life was two years old;
He was his parents' eldest boy,
And he was drowned, I was told.
His parents never more can see him
In this world of grief and pain,
And Oh! they will not forget him
While on earth they do remain.
On one bright and pleasant morning
His uncle thought it would be nice
To take his dear little nephew
Down to play upon a raft,
Where he was to work upon it,
An this little child would company be --
The raft the water rushed around it,
Yet he the danger did not see.

This little child knew no danger --
Its little soul was free from sin --
He was looking in the water,
When, alas, this child fell in.
Beneath the raft the water took him,
For the current was so strong,
And before they could rescue him
He was drowned and was gone.

Oh! how sad were his kind parents
When they saw their drowned child,
As they brought him from the water,
It almost made their hearts grow wild.
Oh! how mournful was the parting
From that little infant son.
Friends, I pray you, all take warning,
Be careful of your little ones.
