Health hazards

What is happening all around?
Nothing seems well and sound,
Anarchy, fraud witness and found,
All taking we to down ward bound,

Health hazard and playing with food,
Toxic mixed with milk and served as good,
Trees treated with chemicals at root,
Yield is more but day time loot,

Country’s fortune is at stake,
Fishes are dying and extinct in lake,
Can this be not stopped for God’s sake?
Even butter and milk is poisoned in cake,

Vegetables are nurtured with poisonous waste,
We praise its colour and appreciate the taste,
Nothing is safe and dangerous to health,
What is use of having less or more wealth?

Urea and chemicals added to milk powder,
Nothing can be found and everything in order,
Millions may be dying of cancer and hunger,
Still no steps and action of anger,

We are all used to subjugation and slavery,
Adding to sufferings and worsening misery,
Tomorrow may be difficult and things out of hand,
Health may be in despair with infertility of land,

Even sweets are not spared,
Child health is not cared,
No one can deny and not even dare,
Silence on part lead us no where,

Where does it matter where millions boom?
Population increasing with not enough rooms,
No shed, no cloths with enough power looms
It is not progress but living hell and doom,

This is simple try for awakening the masses,
It doesn’t require any special classes,
Mass issuance of appeals and rejection of goods,
May it then happen when out of woods?

An unsafe hazard

It is killing all our good habits
We are compromising food habits bit by bit
We pay nothing or little attention
No one takes note of it or make the mention

What is happening all around?
Nothing seems well and goes sound,
Anarchy, fraud is witnessed and is order of the day
Where is the final solution to it or the way

Health hazard is on increase and we are playing with food,
Toxic is mixed with milk which is totally not good
Even trees are treated with chemicals at root
Yield may be more but it amount to day time loot

Country’s future and fortune both are at stake
Fishes are dying daily and will become extinct in lake
Can this be not stopped for God’s sake?
Even butter and milk is poisoned in cake,

Vegetables are nurtured with poisonous waste
we praise its color and appreciate the taste
Nothing is safe and everything is dangerous to health
what is use of having less or more wealth?

Urea and chemicals are added to milk powder
nothing can be proved and everything is found in order,
Millions may be dying of lung’s cancer
Still no steps are being taken even in anger

We are all used to subjugation and slavery
Adding to sufferings and worsening misery
Tomorrow may prove to be difficult and things may go out of hand
Health may be in doldrums with infertility of land,

Even sweets are not spared
Child health is also not cared
No one can deny it or dare
Silence on our part may lead us no where

How does it matter where millions take birth and boom?
Population is increasing without enough rooms
No shed, no cloths with not enough power looms
It is not progress but living hell and will lead to doom

This is small step in direction for awakening the masses
It doesn’t require any special classes
Mass issuance of appeals for rejection of inferior goods,
May it then happen and take us out of woods

The Government and its administration can’t take full precaution
The people and must realize themselves and use it with caution
They must raise the banner and come out strongly in disfavor
It may then turn heat on other sides and result into favor

It is our own creation and done for small amount of money
Millions die of hunger, nutrition and adulterated honey
We are only responsible for deterioration in health standard
To curb the adulteration is the only way to go forward

Money Ain’t God

Money is not God,
Albeit good health and great wealth
Will put a commoner in the position to afford
The most luxurious amenities on earth.

God is wealth;
Good health
Is the richest gift
That can be bestowed on a chief.

Money is like a gaud;
It is a fraud
To think that money is God.

A King or a Queen, without good health,
Is sinking at the bottom;
He or she is dead, indeed worthless.
A penniless pauper, with great health,
Is wealthier than one can fathom;
He or she is darn blessed.

God is wealth;
God is health;
Money ain’t God;
Money ain’t God.

Good health and great wealth
Are like divine gifts;
Adding a little wisdom and a good heart,
Such combo will put a cherub on a celestial lift,
Where life is wonderful and set apart.

God is wealth;
Good health
Is the richest gift
That can be bestowed on a chief.

Money is like a gaud,
It is a fraud
To think that money is God.

Health and Wealth

When I had health, I strived to earn more wealth;
I toiled so hard that I soon lost my health!
When I got wealth, more vice crept in by stealth;
My wealth was gone, so also my good health!

So, keep your health and earn some wealth;
Don't earn more wealth and lose all health;
Just use your wealth to keep your health;
In life on earth, Health is your wealth!

Seldom Won

Independence, liberty and freedom
Bloodlessly won seldom
Stalwarts and leaders had shown wisdom
This all we now read in class rooms

Who will not want to be in free country?
Where it is classless, non racial and sans misery
What else can be dreamed of to lead it happily?
And country is surging ahead steadily

Foreign occupants are taken as cruel and marauders
Their position is that of land hungry and invaders
They might have plundered the country in process
And brutally murdered for gaining the access

All said and done and now they have packed
No more claims on our land is staked
We are fully independent and sovereign
Free from any yoke as independence is regained

What is scenario there after?
Is country leading towards disaster?
Is the freedom struggle really a boom?
Is there any scope for poor with room?

It has tuned into grim reality
It has proved our incompetence and inability
We have pushed country into Dark Age
We failed to look after people and manage

Farmers are coming suicide
Politicians are asking for free ride
Everybody is on rampage and hands are full of corruption
The loot is clearly seen and going on without any interruption

Yes, death is wealth
To take pride for Poor’s health
Where are we today on this freedom day?
Can they take us to peaceful way?

Can we not dream for two square meals?
Can they not strike a simple deal?
They come once in five years
To feed with oasis waters in deaf years

No answer may ever be found
Out economy is claimed to be sound
All well but country is in ill health
Entire country is robbed of its wealth

Health Deteriorated

Health deteriorated and nobody care it.
And we say health is wealth.
The health worker the doctor all paid
And the patients died
And all are apathetic towards health.

In this Hitech age cholera measeales
Malaria are the cause of our death.
Common man died due to diseases
Died due to hunger due to neglect
By our own man and we all remain silent.

An innovative way

Join, join, join, join laughing club
Worry, tension at home and not at club
Raise your hands and loudly laugh,
Belly should go in and look only half,

In parking lot or in green garden
Under shed of trees where fruits are laden,
Fresh morning air and hanky round hair
Avoid sitting at home in the easy chair

People may laugh or cut even jokes
You may find discomfort at their pokes
You are very safe and free from pollution or smokes
Start the exercise lightly after brief walks

Fresh intake of air and slowly to inhale
You may feel big as big as fish whale
This is not joke, hear say or simple tale
Cheeks may become rosy and not look pale,

Well, any exercise in morning, is good for health,
Not it to be compared with money or wealth,
If health is good everything will be good
Morning will be cheerful with good mood

Open laugh with big noise may scare all
It may look as if received distress call,
But it helps to remove tension,
Disease may be far away and out of question

All steps are taken to keep one always fit
It required some standard ready to be met
Remain calm and cool with healthy mind
Happiness and freshness one may always find

Why so much stress is laid on keeping good health?
Why there is no such importance to the money or wealth?
Why do we not deal that seriously with good habits?
It may tire us out and health may fall bit by bit

It is equally important to be cautious with age
One may be confined to bed as if put in cage
You may feel bad and run high in rage
It may be of no use as done with enough damage

It is good to be health cautious and watchful
In later stage of life it is also useful
If you remain hale and hearty with good health
No amount of compensation can supplement to death

In young age we are accustomed to certain bad habits
We pay less attention to food habits and neglect little bit
It becomes difficult to improve as time passed by
Health can never be regained and helplessly without any try

Let us not forget health is wealth
It has to be tackled or dealt with
It may prove disastrous if not properly looked after
There may be no use even if you take medicines as laughter

Health is above it.

Actual welfare lies

I think that age as a number is not nearly as important as health. You can be in poor health and be pretty miserable at 40 or 50. If you're in good health, you can enjoy things into your 80s.

The Contented Man

"How good God is to me," he said;
"For have I not a mansion tall,
With trees and lawns of velvet tread,
And happy helpers at my call?
With beauty is my life abrim,
With tranquil hours and dreams apart;
You wonder that I yield to Him
That best of prayers, a grateful heart?"

"How good God is to me," he said;
"For look! though gone is all my wealth,
How sweet it is to earn one's bread
With brawny arms and brimming health.
Oh, now I know the joy of strife!
To sleep so sound, to wake so fit.
Ah yes, how glorious is life!
I thank Him for each day of it."

"How good God is to me," he said;
"Though health and wealth are gone, it's true;
Things might be worse, I might be dead,
And here I'm living, laughing too.
Serene beneath the evening sky
I wait, and every man's my friend;
God's most contented man am I . . .
He keeps me smiling to the End."

My Idea Of Bliss

Explained to my colleague my idea of bliss, giving
up meat, finding the taste revolting, eating butter
on rye crackerbread and drinking milk powder in
coffee - she frowned and told me this would be
fattening, I would grow as round as the earth

Yet before doing this I ate the right food on my
husband's safe food list and had to watch my
widening girth; now I don't fear the enemy in
butter and milk, as long as I have no hunger
pains to plague me all day, no headaches

No allergy symptoms at play, I am content to
leave the meat on my plate, if turning into a
vegetarian is the next step in healing from
aches and pains, I shall rejoice, eating
creatures with higher consciousness

Just seems so wrong - I'm holding thumbs
this healing goes on…

Enough wealth but no health

I have amassed enough wealth
but not bestowed with good health
I have fine body and healthy mind
permanent weakness with diseases of all kinds

I try to look reasonable as far as possible
something forces me not to be accessible
possible so much wealth stops me to be free?
Like so many heavy fruits laden on tree

All luxury and comforts is at my disposal
I like no suggestions or good proposals
May be inner false strength or pride prevents
Ill feeling coming on fore possibly to vents

I hope and feel there is soul like thing
it urges me to stop and to do something
I lack courage and enough strength
it stops me from going to any length

I have some feelings but can’t express
Read between lines but can’t redress
it may be lacking spirit or not enough?
Prevents me from facing the situation rough

I try to come out of situation with purge
With love and kind gestures to emerge
I still think body is not that strong
Stalls the desire to move and among

Why can’t I lead the ordinary life?
Is the time still not ripe?
Am I destined to be beggar?
Troubles are in store with pills coated with sugar

is it so difficult to come out of cage?
Rewrite complete things with new page?
The body doesn’t allow me to replace rage?
It has passed with youth and now old age

if I can’t be good human being with enough wealth?
Allow me to become ordinary man with good health
it hurts me more than anything else
I shall do it with strong resolve to repulse

It is no use to continue with weak body
Then it will be business of anybody
We will be just reliant on others
Worries may engulf us and bother

Wealth has still important role to play
It can make it easy for any other way
Health is to have little more dominant part
If one has to be healthy to look rally smart

Health and wealth can’t be at anybody’s cost
Both concern us equally in life very most
One can’t be done away with one another
It has to be supplement to each other

Since wealth has failed to deliver the goods
I shall be careful about my intake or food
I may send message through new initiative
Prove to the world with the strength relative

Sonnet: Enough is Enough

I told you many times but you didn’t heed;
I warned you many times; you weren’t careful;
I did advise you, you cared not indeed;
I’d cautioned you about the things harmful.

Enough is enough, you turn a new leaf!
Life is very short ’fore you deeply sleep;
What is the use of daily taking beef?
Think of the things you do, sometimes so deep.

Health is our wealth; this is the greatest truth!
Never in life have some understood this;
Like the seed you sow, so will be the fruit;
Know this soon man or life may go amiss.

Enough is enough, think of things you do;
Health of body, mind and soul, matter to.

Solitude

Happy the man, whose wish and care
A few paternal acres bound,
Content to breathe his native air
In his own ground.

Whose herds with milk, whose fields with bread,
Whose flocks supply him with attire;
Whose trees in summer yield shade,
In winter, fire.

Blest, who can unconcern'dly find
Hours, days, and years, slide soft away
In health of body, peace of mind,
Quiet by day.

Sound sleep by night; study and ease
Together mixed; sweet recreation,
And innocence, which most does please
With meditation.

Thus let me live, unseen, unknown;
Thus unlamented let me die;
Steal from the world, and not a stone
Tell where I lie.

Summer Of My Life

It was early summer
... Before the full green set in
When the lawns de-winterizing
Awoke
To a Yellowish Brown
New floor had not been formed
Not yet ready for
The Tropical Palm;
The white cloud days
Pushed at the Baby-Blue constantly
While the circular Tangerine Sun,
Peeked out surreptitously;
Back in the Era -
When days grew long -
Where the light shown -
The Mud and The Flower -
Yesteryear in the Summer -
Of my Okay and ugly ways -
I remember the good and bad -
Of my many, Summer hours;
Early green splashed -
With Hazy Sides of Gray -
Me, living, off of the sweet land -
Breathing in -
But always, waiting for -
Something better -
To come along -
Something better in-
My life to begin.

Footnote***
Oh, how childish those days were. I had
My life, and my health for the most part.
No suffering, physically or mentally.
Now, with my health going to the dogs, i
Can so easily reflect back, on what a
Silly, selfish human being i really was.
Because i did have something better.
I had my health...and having your health
Is the greatest wealth we can own.
Without health, we have and are nothing!

The Chemicals

True love never changes and,
It comes straight from the heart;
So what are we going to do about it when,
We've found love?
Be very proud of your colour and,
Be yourself at all times.
It is very sad for a black person to use chemicals on the body,
By bleaching it to change the colour;
But think twice before you use these chemicals!

To the humanistic and hedonistic models,
What are you doing to your bodies? !
Infact, our attitudes are being shaped by the horrors around us;
And, many do not know what they are doing.
The truth must be said to them,
And changes are very effective to the human mind;
But, these are the shadows of things to come.
It is now time for us to purse and think,
For the chemicals will rather destroy us than we think.

Bad For Your Health

I looked at some photos
of many years ago.
Boy, did I look young.
They were taken before
the grey hairs and wrinkles set in.

However, it doesn’t seem
all that long ago.
At the time of the photos,
the world wasn’t full of stress.
There wasn’t so many idiots saying
don’t do this as its bad for your health.

The only thing I can see
that is really bad for your health,
is those idiots that keep saying,
don’t do this, don’t do that.
Maybe if they kept their gob shut,
we all might have a stress fee day.

Can anyone remember the old saying
too many crooks spoil the broth?
If you can’t,
I suspect the reason for it
is someone said it is bad for your health.

Now lets make a list
according to the idiots,
down through the year have told us
which is bad for our health.
The problem here is
it would take too long to name them all.

Now let’s make a list
of what is good for you.
It doesn’t matter what you put down.
Some idiot is going to come along next year
and tell you that it is bad for your health.

Now what I really want to know
from these educated idiots.
Have they ever heard the words
malnutrition and starvation?
Because if they haven’t
I suggest they learn them double quick
before we have a world full of skin and bones.
