End Of The Road

That day I was severely bitten
I was hungry had not even eaten
Father had angrily roughed me up
I was heavily charged and couldn't stand or jump

It is very hard for child to bear
I was shaken and remained in tears
I failed to understand abut his wrath
Some thoughts entered mind to accept death

I am hardly grown up and faced such ire
I always looked at him with respect and admired
At no stage I caused him worry or tension
But this event forced me to think with lot many questions

I am from the village and could see dusty road
Little air or wind may lift sand and add the load
Any thing you do may have some dependence
You can't think of partial or complete independence

I sat on the road mouth and looked at far end
Barren path with no one to accompany as friend
I knew now how it may be difficult to survive!
It is do or die battle to carry on with life and live

I saw some reason behind father's anger
He was not at all educed or good manager
He had meager means to carry on and face
Lot many challenges that might come in race

Like any other father he had sustained struggle
Underwent lot many ups and downs with troubles
I was easy target for him to vent the feeling
Yet I felt no bad for him and kept on smiling

He came to me and asked for some desire or wish
To go out for play with friends and have sweets
I said 'No dad' it is Albright with me
The tears rushed abruptly and very free

He sensed some pride hurt
Even though I was child but looked cute
He had soft corner for me but was victim of circumstances
I was beaten but it happened only at once

Many parents see it as bad sign
Child should never be felt to resign
It crates adverse impact on growing mind
Child sees it as rare out burst and wishes never to find

I looked again at the end of road
The horizon looked me vast and broad
It reminded me of coming days
'One should not be lost on the ways'

Father I Never Knew

Father I Never Knew

I have searched all my life for you yet I never found you
I have called out your name but you've never answered
For the longest time, I've wonder am I just like you
It's the one thing that has haunted for the longest time
I don't know you but the thought of being like you scares me

For the longest time, I've wondered who I was
Whom I'm destined to become
I've always wondered was I to do the same things that you've done
Was I to do things I'm not proud of and not have a conscience about it
I've looked in many mens eyes wondering if it was you
Tears would fall from my eyes each time I found out my one quest still aludes me

There is a little boy whom I made a promise to long time ago
As a father to his son, I looked him in his eyes and said, 'you would never have to wonder who I am'
He would never carry the pain his father carries with not knowing you.

Any man can father a child but it takes a man to be a father

Was He A Child?

Was he a child? (NARRATED 7/9/10)

I was feeling down and out depressed and in despair
My chest was feeling tight My mind up in the air
Like so many others I was living from week to week
I was all the way down to my lowest peak.

Nothing seemed to console me, so I decided to take a walk.
Sat on a park bench when with me, a child started to talk.
What’s wrong mister? You look like you lost your best friend.
But don’t you worry, for soon it will end.

Its just like when I play baseball, and I want to hit a home run
And when I don’t do it, I feel like getting a gun.
My coach always tells me that I can’t always hit a home run.
As long as I get on base, that’s all that has to be done.

I looked at this child, he had a big smile on his face
He took me back- to another time, another place.
Well I’ve got to run mister to meet my family
For they are always there to hug and comfort me.

I thought: now here is a child with wisdom
Who seems to know more than me.
How is this possible? How can it be?

I turned to thank him and to tell him to have a nice day
But he was gone, he just slipped away.
I got up off the bench and looked all around
But he was not in sight, and nowhere to be found.

I felt a sense of freedom, like a burden taken off of me
For all those cares and worries, no longer bothered me.

The Circle

From parent and child
to friend to child to parent.
I've grown and reflecting back.
The circle is clear to me.

As a child looking up to them.
Then eye to eye
with the coming of age.
Still I looked up to them.

Many the role my parents played
guiding my course through life.
Their status with me
changing as older I grew.

Entering the world of adults
leaving adolescence behind.
Friends confidants
and equals they became.

When times my needs demanded
support direction advice.
Always they were there.
On my parents I could rely.

Taking my place as a parent.
Their wisdom a well I drew from.
Their strength
became a staff I leaned on.

One day to me
it was suddenly clear.
My path through life
followed the footprints they left.

When came the time
in their autumn years.
For safe haven they looked to me.
Their obligations I realized fulfilled.

It was for me now the time
to carry that load
they had gladly borne.
The circle had come full turn.

A Hard Road

Old men crying, young men dying,
World still turns as father time
Looks on
On and on,
Children playing, dreamers praying,
Laughter turns to tears
Love has gone, has it gone?
Oh, it's a hard road
Oh, it's a hard road
Poets yearning, lovers learning,
On this path of life we pass along
Is it wrong?
Widows weeping, babies sleeping,
Life becomes the singer and the song
Sing along
Oh, it's a hard road
Carry your own load
Why make the hard road?
Why can't we be friends?
No need to hurry
We'll meet in the end
Why make the hard road?
Why can't we be friends?
No need to worry
Let's sing it again
Brother's sharing, mother's caring,
Nighttime falling victim to the dawn
Shadows mourn,
Days are falling, time is calling
To the Earth another life is born
Love line drawn
Oh, it's a hard road
Carry your own load
Oh, it's a hard road...
We're living in sorrow
We're living the best
And look to the future
'Cause life goes together now...

I Looked At You

i looked at you,
and saw the fugitive
in my mirror.
i looked at me,
and saw the child in you.
i looked at God,
and saw the stranger waiting.
i looked at the stranger,
and saw my brother in need.
i looked at freedom,
and saw the bars of the cell.
i looked at the bars,
and saw my spirit walk free.
i looked at anger,
and saw forgiveness waiting.
i looked at forgiveness,
and saw the hands of love.
i looked at my body,
and saw the bird leaving the nest.
i looked at the nest,
and saw a world made of straw.
i looked at today,
and saw the scars of yesterday.
i looked at yesterday,
and saw the dawning of tomorrow.
i looked at the seed,
and saw the plant in fullness.
i looked at fullness,
and saw emptiness the seed.
i looked at you...

A father, A child. The meaningful bond

A father, A child. The meaningful bond

A father whispers to the child
As the child continues to ignore his spoken words
As if his owner was almost invisible from the corner of his eye
The child shouts – silence” the father then trembles disfigured to heart
He stands crying tears of fury with the spark of love of his child’s naivety.
The child carries on his missions, his father watches him do his thing”
When finally one day the child realizes his insane character, the father then
Ignores his presence..

Appreciate what you have here, now, but not always.
because 'you never know'.

Face Some Gap

I thrashed my son for being lazy
He looked at me uncomfortably
It was unbearable for him and felt uneasy
I could notice it but forgot as remained busy

Many have often said “child’s mind is like plant”
You can mould it they you wish or want
It needs simple care and little attention
This thing child may pick up for future retention

I felt sore at being harsh and unreasonable
It was to be advised to him as no trouble
Something child may take very pleasantly
This is supposed to be the right trend presently

Why some of the parents later face some gaps
Child remembers harshness and often blows or slaps
This impression makes him little adamant in gesture
He rages with anger and determines something for future

As we know it from the experience and from tales
That good education and environment definitely sales
The child becomes all the more prone to good behavior
Parents may be considered as next to the God or savior

Certain noble thought we give them in inheritance
Child picks it easily and can be known from visible stance
He may have bluntness with full authority and knowledge
He may drive through and through with clear edge

I have seen such impact in some of the brilliant students
They have come out successfully and passed through critical events
Yet they resent the past attitude on the part of parents
As it had demoralized them by making serious dents

I understand now how it can cause damage
How individual should be allowed to come up with age
Not forgetting the facts of nature for good environment
So later on not face such harsh and unpleasant comments

Save A Wonder

A child's hand That I held
To show the world anew,
From the wonders that I've seen
To the beauties that I knew.
We walked a country path,
With wonders all around
And the child's grip grew much tighter,
With every sight and sound.
We saw the birds in the trees
We felt an April breeze,
As she came through the leaves
As though to greet, the child and me.
We then saw the April showers
Which cleansed the April flowers
And trees and grass we did see,
As they became our friends.
Then out came a rainbow
And out came a child's glow,
And then the questions, began to flow,
With the answers I'll never know.
With ' how come this',
Or ' why did that',
Kept ringing from ear to ear.
But then the more he asked
The less I laughed,
Happy was I, the child was here.
More wanders had we saw
The further that we walked
Down a wooded path,
Upon the virgin grass.
We saw creeks with her fishes,
And clovers, with their wishes
And then more questions to me were asked.
Then I looked upon youthful eyes
And I heard a worried sigh,
And then the child, he answered please,
Save, a wonder for me.

To the earth that not that life has gone, love line drawn

Help Me To Cross

“Uncle, can you help me to cross the road”
Five years child was in dilemma with load
He was separated in crowd from family
I could hardly stop thinking and felt it as silly

I found an answer for all my burning questions
Some of them remained unaddressed and had no solution
I got the answer within minute from child’s anxiety
You need some one to cross over uncertainty

Many things crossed empty mind
Why was I worrying so much for it to find?
Many unhappy souls may be traced or found all over
All may need some solutions for cover

I have prayed and practiced true religion
Read many books and talked with many in regions
What did they think and practiced in time of crisis?
What was their faith and clearly open emphasis?

“We lived as usual and lost no courage”
“We felt no nervousness and could manage”
We don’t worry about tomorrow and die today
We help ourselves to find or take the help in any way

I felt shy as to why I was only foolish on this earth
Why was I scared so much about invisible fear of death?
Why did I care about things which were just in conception?
Why prayers were not made to almighty for right adoption?

I looked with the suspicion and blamed cunning mind
Why was that tiny part remaining aloof and blind?
Why hundreds of persuasions were not making it to budge?
I found the answer and blamed self without any grudge

If child can find way and others live with simple calculation
What the hell was I wasting precious time for questions?
When simple answer was lying within inner walls
What was needed to make frantic search and calls?

We are responsible for running after oasis water
We know for sure that it is beyond our limit to alter
We can argue with self about the ways to deal with
But certainly not blessed with or armed with teeth

I slept whole night with full satisfaction
Neither was it related with any such excitation
Nor with fulfillment of any such indication
It was purely evident from self exploration

It is easy to live with whatever we have
The desire may be natural for more to crave
Yet we can put some halt to expectations
As it has all the ways to put the limitations

You Dear Father

“Was it you dear father” some one very close uttered
Very deadly in dealing and all my childhood dreams shattered
Were you not so considerate when I needed?
I heard and obeyed you and all advices heeded

I raised eyes painfully and looked at him
He was my dearest son intelligent and very thin
I looked after him well but kept under tight control
He was required to respond at very first call

Why was he bearing all such things and carrying?
Was I so cruel and hard on his behavior?
I raised my eyebrows in unhappiness and despair
But I felt damage was done and beyond repair

I might have beaten him on number of occasions
When he might have failed to respond to number of questions
I was to get infuriated at his inaction
But I still restrained so much for reaction

No parents may want unruly scenes at home
Children are expected to behave well and always welcome
What I couldn’t understand even today about their silence?
I had kept all the options open and restrained hence

I took at least one good care and prevented their defiance
I was considerate and fulfilled all their demand at once
No one had any reason to feel neglected
I had sincerely felt and acted

I look back all those reminisces
There might be omission and many misses
But that does not amount any cruel attitude
I failed to understand his behavior with prelude

The past scenes just hurried before my eyes
He used to remain scared and made no try
To convince me of his intention and feeling
I was eager to hear those words and willing

Now all things have become past
I am approaching end of the life very fast
He may carry same impression forever
I smiled at him and tried to convince him however

He could understand my point of view
It is improbable and may be realized by few
It is difficult to erase bad memory from mind
At a time when it is stored and understood as unkind

A Child Was Hurt

When I was a child you hurt me.
I was nothing but a mere girl.
I was only 5 years old.
I couldnt fight you couldnt fend you off.
A child was hurt.

A child was hurt for your fantasies.
That child was me.
I was only a wee girl.
A child was hurt.

It used to be a cool place to play.
It once was my faviorate place to go.
But you took that from me.
As well as raping me.
A child was hurt.

You said it was a game.
I knew it was rong.
It didnt feel right.
I begged you to stop.
You looked laughed and carried in.
A child was hurt.

A child was hurt.
I was so much smaller than you.
You towered over me.
You had the power.
And you didnt care.
A child was hurt

At only 9 years old

At only 9 years old

At age you see your father as a hero
Reads you bedtimes stories and sings lullaby even in your dreams
Your night and shinning amour of a fortress in which you sleep
A friend when you have your mind to speak
But at nine years old, you learn life is cold
He is your pimp so as to feed his alcoholic need
When you are born your soul is of renaissance
But how abusive he is, it took no rocket science
A mother who was suppose to have a heart of paradise
And yet she stood aside as you where raped and vandalized
At only nine years old you tiny flesh ripped apart and sold
Filled with dirt and dressed with mold

By your own father you learnt how to hate a man
By your own mother you never really had a friend
As day in day out elderly man had a feast upon you breasts
With tears in your eyes you felt his thrust and heavy bosoms upon you chest
Only for a couple of rands, like rent to be met for his appetite
At only nine years you saw your hole life deteriorate
The school you learnt was that of life
Education syllabus was how to survive
They sat in the living like nothing had happened
And when one was done another would approach like a pattern in segment
Did they not father their own children?
Or was the greed of lust more devilish then satan

That these molesters and rappers confined to without remorse
And a mother and father who perceived you as their biggest resource
At age nine the real reason you lived was because you where afraid to die
But the real you was dead keeping you alive
I cry the tears you cry even if I not know you
Having your own father rape you because your mother allows him to
She says that’s the way of learning life
Maybe in her death she will realize you are just a child
Locked in your room butler windows for now escape
And yet everyday you prayed and still had faith
At age nine you never had a doll to play
Reality had forced you to a sex slave
How can a father upon his own child prey?
How can a father upon his own child prey?
How can a father upon his own child prey?

The Innocent Child

I was just a child, an innocent child
I didn't know when, I didn't know how.
I was just a child, an innocent child.
She couldn't save me from what happened,
even though she tried. She always tried.
she was my guardian angel.
I was just a child, an innocent child.
I couldn't be saved then, and I cant be saved now.
The dark angel came over, knocked on my door.
sucked the life out of my family, I was only 5.
I was just a child, and innocent child.
I didn't understand, Where did they go? What happened to mommy and daddy? What happened to sissy? Why didn't they come home last night?
They brought the car to my house, thought someone else would be home, but it was just me, just a little 5 year old..I looked at it... I saw the twists and the turns... the dents and the broken glass.. the scars will always be there.. I see it slamming into a ditch..rolling, rolling, and when it stops.
Silence...
I was just a child, an innocent child.
I didn't understand. how could that happen.. what happened?
I was just an innocent child, the innocent child.
She went away that night.. and she never came back.

Missing Link

A sickly child lie
frail on the sofa in the living room.
A knock on the door,
His mother opened.
The man who entered the child knew it was his father.
Whose child is this?
“It is your youngest son” his mother said.
The children in the street
all had a father; the child had waited for him.
But his father ignored him,
gave chocolate to his sister and brother,
then he drank from a bottle,
his mother threw him out.
Next day asked his mother, ” are you sure he is my father? ”
She slapped her son’s face and cried.

Lost In Wal-Mart

So... I was in one of those Wal-mart Super Stores
Just the other day
When in the middle of the hallway
I felt someone grab my fingers tight
I looked and there she was... a little child holding
With all her might

I saw her eyes big and brown
Somehow she pulled me to the ground
Now..what was a man...big as me suppose to do
So... I said... child... Can I help you..?

As she looked at me with big brown eyes
Her beauty and sadness... almost caused a great flood
And with her voice ready to cry
She ask... If'n...I'd seen her mommy?

Now has anybody ever had their heart fallout of their soul...?
Mine did... And I couldn't help but notice
Her knees.. Shaking... Like she was at the North Pole.
Now you... and me... and everyone knows...
Children aren't to talk to strangers...
Because we've all heard... how great... and terrible those..dangers!
But she still had hold...of my fingers

Well... at that same time I felt.. heard a voice in my head
Don't move.... this is where I should.. need.. to stand
I did... But I still raised up my left hand
Because.. I didn't... know what to do?
I felt like that child... back in first grade school!

So... I spoke with my voice really loud.
I said...this child's mommy is lost... (you see)
I have always been able to see when love needed my help!
But this time... I had never known how helpless..I felt!

I said...please..someone.. call the M.O.D.
Short for Manager on Duty.
Help me... Find the mommy of this little cutie
Well in a few moments through that crowd of people
This women... M.O.D. appeared
She knelt down and said..Oh.. Oh...you're such a little dear...
Held out her hands..said sweetie come-mere

Yet.. I knew what this child was thinking... because
She now clung to me
Her arm went tight.. around my knee
And in her fist part of my jean's

I felt heard again that gentlest of a voice
I know you can you feel... her fear.....
So I want you... to just stand here....
Well I let my left hand rest gently...on her little head
I felt the trembling...and some how it cut my soul....
(because I felt those greatest of dreads)

So there we were twenty... thirty minutes... maybe a little more..
Then that voice ok look to the left
And from a hundred yards I saw her and the plant nursey room door
and heard that one's the mom....!
And even from that distance
I knew my thoughts were right
She looked like she'd seen a ghost
Face Pale.... I reconized her... pure.. It was Snow..White..
So I raised that child up to my shoulder
That had clung so tight to my knee...Shouted... Hey Lady... Over here..

I can't describe her relief... nor her tears...
But..I'll never forget them...or her...for the rest of my years...
Because as she came close... I cleary heard...Thank..You..God...!
As she fell with that child in her arms...knee's hitting the floor..
She begged for mercy... forgivness...
From the child, from God... I was'nt quite shore?

Well Ok.. I finally decided it was safe for me.. I turned to leave
And there again.. she was wrapped around my knee
This time love forced me to the ground
All the while that mommy's great tears.. rained down
I glanced briefly at the face.. of that girl women that still cried
And then I said Child... Is this your mom?
With a smile and nod... said my name is Dawnn..
She showed me a bruise on her elbow
That had been caused by her cat... his name was Heck
Then she smiled and embaced my neck

Suddenly I was there outside my heart
My own tears began to start............... well
When I was able I a-rose.. that mom started to explain
Mention husband...Iraq... two years... and a plane
In her haste had thought Grandma had
Her in her car
That she had to go... airport...late and so far
Tell her don't speed the plane will be late

I did what I was told... and ask if'n.. I... could hold Dawnn
Because she needed to call her own mom...
On the phone... Yes.. Yes... Mom I have her.. she's safe...
What..what.. The plane is late... How do you know that?
She then said mom... I need to call you back
Putting her cell phone down

She stared at me with eyes big and round
Then I smiled at Dawnn.. and put my head down
She said it's been so hard.. these last two years
And again she said, Thank You God....through some more tears
She stepped closer... and almost whisperd.. so I could barley hear
She said...I ask God to have someone he trusted
Guard my daughter until I got there
She cried and still stared

I put love and little Dawnn back on the ground
I tired to mumble something... but couldn't hardly make a sound
So I said good by to Dawn and take good care of Heck
Then that women child said thank you Clyde
And... with her free arm pert near broke my neck
She stilled cried a little... guess.. I did the same
Surprised that she knew my name
She said God Loves you u-know
And I have to go
As she backed up... she added
I'll name my first son....
After the man that can see far....
May God bless you where-ere you go... or are....

So I wrote this poem about a little girl and her mom Lost in Wal-mart.
I admit I was confussed as to why this little girl came to me and ask me to help her find her mom.But what was I to do, I could only stand there
and try to do what I felt was the correct thing.
It was easy to see that young women that came running into that
store was lost and scared. I don't claim anything but it was strange to have this little girl refuse help from so many of the other's that were there. Yet I obeyed the thoughts that kept coming into my soul. I'm not sure if it was the right thing to do. I just did what I thought came into my mind. It was like I was thinking with and unused portion of my heart, if that was possible.. the end

Abraham, Martin & John

(richard holler)
I am a backseat driver from america
They drive to the left on falls road
And the man at the wheels name is shamus
We pass a the child on a corner he knows
And shamus says now what chance has that kid got
And I say from the back I dont know
He says theres barbed wire at all of these exits
There aint no place in belfast for that kid to go
And its a hard life, its a hard life
Its a very hard life
Its a hard life wherever you go
And we poison our children with hatred
And the hard life is all that they know
At the dairyline in chicago
A fat man in front of me
Hes calling black people trash to his children
And hes the only trash here I see
And Im thinking this man wears a white hood
In the night when his children should sleep
But theyll slip to their windows and see him
Theyll think that white hoods all they need
And its a hard life, its a hard life
Its a very hard life
Its a hard life wherever you go
And if we poison our children with hatred
Then the hard life is all that they know
I was a child of the sixties
When dreams could be held through tears
With disney and cronkite and martin luther
And I belived, I believed, I believed
Now Im a backseat driver from america
And Im not at the wheel of control
And I am guilty, I am worn, I am the root of all evil
And I cant drive on the left side of the road
And its a hard life, its a hard life
Its a very hard life
Its a hard life wherever you go
And if we poison our children with hatred
Then the hard life is all that theyll know
And there aint no place in this world for these kids to go
Cause its a hard life wherever you go
Has anybody here seen my old friend abraham,
Can you tell me where hes gone?
He freed a lotta people, but it seems the good die young
I just looked around and hes gone.
Has anybody here seen my old friend martin,
Can you tell me where hes gone?
He freed a lotta people, but it seems the good die young
I just looked around and hes gone.
Has anybody here seen my old friend john,
Can you tell me where hes gone?
He freed a lotta people, but it seems the good die young
I just looked around and hes gone.
Didnt you love the things they stood for?
Didnt they try to find some good in you and me?
And well be free
Someday soon its gonna be one day
Has anybody here seen my old friend bobby,
Can you tell me where hes gone?
I thought I saw him walkin up over the hill
With abraham and martin and john.

Carry You

Lay down your burden, I will carry you
I will carry you, my child
Lay down your burden, I will carry you
I will carry you, my child, my child
If I can walk on water
And calm a restless sea
I've done a thousand things you've never done
And I'm weary watchin'
While you struggle on your own
Call my name, I'll come
Lay down your burden, I will carry you
I will carry you, my child
Lay down your burden, I will carry you
I will carry you, my child, my child
I give vision to the blind
And I can raise the dead
I've seen the darker side of Hell
And I returned
And I see these sleepless nights
And I count every tear you cry
I know some lessons hurt to learn
Lay down your burden, I will carry you
I will carry you, my child
Lay down your burden, I will carry you
I will carry you, my child, my child
I will carry you, my child
I see these sleepless nights
And I count every tear you cry
And call my name, I'll come runnin'
Lay down your burden, I will carry you
I will carry you, my child
Lay down your burden, I will carry you
I will carry you, my child, my child
I will carry you, my child, my child
I will carry you
Hey-Yeah-Hey-Yeah Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh
Hey-Yeah-Hey-Yeah Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh
Hey-Yeah-Hey-Yeah Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh
Hey-Yeah-Hey-Yeah Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh

THIS IS OUR WORLD! ! (SHOCKING n EXPLICIT)

Where a child lives in a warm mother's cocoon
Where a child is sold to the prostitutes, her life doomed

Where a father fiercely protects his child
Yet another father enters another's child

Where children play without any fear
Where men enter boys through the rear

Where a child gets a new toy every day
Where a child becomes a toy near the bay

Where a child is whooped up and twirled
Where a child is forced down and hurled

Where they go to fancy schools, sing and play
Where for a single meal, they sweat and labour all day

How Mother Looked

You want to look how Mother looked.
Makeup she used to use lies on her
Dressing table in the room father has
Had locked up. You have secreted the
Key and unlocked and closing the door,
Are sitting facing your image in the mirror’s
Glass you’ve propped against a chair. You
Do not have your mother’s hair. You have
Her eyes, Father said, although he says it
Less now since her death, as if stealing
From the dead. You want to transform
Yourself into her; be the woman she was;
Have her beauty; have her smile; her gentle
Manner. Cancer took her like thief at night;
Reduced her to a bag of bones and hanging
Skin, pale and thin. Forget that image, Father
Chides, cast it away, lock behind the mind’s
Dark doors. You want to look how Mother
Looked before her sad demise, before cold
Cancer’s deceit and lies. Still a child, Father
Says, you have all your life to live; leave your
Grief behind, but you want to be as Mother
Was, like the coloured picture in your mind.
