A gentle sob

II could not sob gently
It was heavy blow on me recently
The tears were rolling silently
I was loosing peace mentally

Each one in family was so dear
I was pleased with their voice to hear
It will ring bell in the ears
For a moment I would be taken away from the fears

As we are not accustomed to hear the news of death
It may send shiver in spine for laying the wreath
It may cause lot of pain when some one is lying dead just before you
The death is reality and you forget the essence is very true

The dying moments may upset you for simple reason
You were borne and brought up by that dear person
He or she remained close to your heart and chest
The time had come now to offer him permanent rest

What you will miss and remember?
You may be loosing head or senior member
He offered you shelter and brought you up
It may definitely be big storm in tea cup

You were adored and praised very high
How could one see silently the last sigh?
You have all along stood for and certainly sought
Took all possible care for welfare and fought

You might be provided a space in heaven
I continuously think and possibly driven
A thought in mind for your heavenly abode
A rightful place or throne provided by God

You will be buried deep under soil
My emotions may run high and boil
No one can stop that final journey
All members may watch it helplessly in the family

A long inning

As mother had played long inning
She breathed her last in the evening
She knew in advance about the end
It was known to us from her feelings and trend

She would not mind about anything
She won’t ask for or call for something
It was her desire to see us well off
She never wanted us to offer any bluff

She was looking at ceiling
Even though for months she was ailing
She had all kind of satisfaction
Bright eyes reflected the same indication

She was lying on the cot
Life spent on various odds to be fought
It was her life time ambition
To be with us without any condition

She did not expect a single favor
She provided us full cover
We will go near to her and touch the feet
She would affectionately look at and greet

She was active till the last day
It was her life and with full sway
She acted dominant and had complete way
We too were afraid to go away

Such glorious inning was about to end
We informed all relatives and friends
It was her desire that all should remain her bedside
She had nothing to hide or confide

She breathed heavily and lost the control
Her body remained there without soul
It was left for heavenly abode
We watched silently with heavy load

She bore same innocence but with authority
It was her secret weapon and quality
She will not mind for our being defiant
She offered full explanation and very variant

She was not in pain at all
The life had ended with her call
She lived life at full length
That was only her strength

We were her treasure
She had everything for sure
All members were brought up clean atmosphere
She had all the satisfaction to be on earth here

Father turned pale at last moment
He could not cry or offer comment
No word was offered from his for his mouth
We could clearly feel autumn wind from north to south

She stood for all those glorious years
She was all for smile and without tears
This kept us in good mood with confidence
We were let off peacefully with all incidences

Even though mother has left us for a while
She had covered long distance of miles
It was divine smile for all of our family members
The shade under banyan tree was for us to remember

A place anywhere

Finally you got to settle somewhere
Yu have no place to go anywhere
One can think of resting there
It is wonderful place with no fears

Whatever may be your deeds?
Whatever may be your greed?
You may have no worry to feed
You are taken away and freed

People wish heaven for you
I don’t know how far it is true?
Why do we pray for peace in heaven?
He has done nothing at all good even

We touch the feet and seek the blessings
There is something moral like missing
We were all the time at loggerheads
He used to be dreaded and we were afraid

It is not satisfaction at al for his departure
We don’t heave a sigh of relief for future
He could do worst all in his tenure
We feared so much and were unsure

We still lay a wreath
That is last respect to death
You may be buried deep in the ground
The final peace is lastly found

It is burial ground
Complete peace and absolutely no sound
No one goes there for any round
Occasional offerings and flowers to be found

No one may wish to come here
Still it has to somewhere near
The journey may soon be taken
Even if your belief is shaken

It has to be borne in mind
You got to and will have to find
The journey may end soon
You will be brought here in night or noon

Wish all a happy good bye
You have now nothing left to buy
You may not see them in times to come
You place is fixed with rousing welcome

Let buried get rest here

Let buried lie in here and get rest,
No suitable place to remain as guest,
End of peaceful life after long quest,
Eternal peace granted after earnest request,

We feel so bad at laying of wreath,
Soaking voices and cry with deep breath,
Experienced once after natural death,
We always prayed God for rest under oath,

Need no flowers, prayers and distress call,
Procession with candle lights when fear fall,
Roses bed underneath and protected by wall,

Delighted at step coming to a halt sudden,
Never have we found it disturbance or burden,
Trees bow more with fruits laden,
Joy with emotions as last journey golden,

We hear from distance a procession mute,
All faces look sullen even though very cute,
It is Almighty’s call so silently execute,
Last leg of journey even claim you refute

From beginning to end found no home,
Some buried in ground some stayed at dome,
Final destination in nature’s refuge,
Whether thin body or size huge,

Whole life struggled for a mental peace,
Never had a chance but always miss,
We have home here and buried with grace,
“Rest in peace” is granted at proper place,

Let people come and not disturb,
In prayer no memory and wound rub.
We have no past buried with us,
But happy as we are even with missed bus,

You may all come and find place,
It is no hut, mansion or palace,
Think of goodness with no mad race
Final journey with slow and steady pace

A turning gold

I fear of being called old
but in fact turning Gold
astute behavior and approach bold
head of the family and very nice hold

Calmness like sea and brightness like sun
family members would love and make fun
my try to win the race with stick walk run
children may point with small barrel gun

'Grandpa, your time is over'
we will give you cover
your inning should not last
as you are aging very fast

Don't leave us behind
where from we will find?
you are our dad's dad and very kind
we touch your feet as you are soft and mild

It turns me old when somethig I hear
“One time handsome may not remain dear”
He is loosing charm and wrinkles developed
Great show on stage is likedly to be floaped

I feel delighted when hear nice words
There is no fun to think of age and look backward
Any one may go for high jump when fully young
Alas! it is beautiful inning but not going to last long

Who can stop the blowing wind?
Who can clip the bird’s wing?
You may go high in the air
The game is considered to be very fair

It is the test of time that you spread the fragrance
The ability and young age is thing of presence
It may stay as long as you think it is in your reach
The birds may come down to find and search

Where do we find peace and shelter?
Where is our final destginy and cover?
Who will accompany us till the end?
The world has to be made as lovely abode and friend

The sun may shine hard and rain may cause the blow
The vigor and strength may develop cracks and go slow
The speed may slower and ri ver may stop the flow
The eys may loose the sight and face its glow

The wrinkles are sign of wisdom
It truly reflects but speaks seldom
Who knows better what can be spoken off?
World may not realize when to cry and laugh

The river water have calmed down and flow silently
The words too are spoken very nicely and gently
You represent serious figure and act as saintly
The advice too comes easily and instantly

One must, in times to come, must grow old
So many may be following you and come in fold
It is not wrinkles but lines on face
That may speak of marathon race

I Hear

It is mid night knock and I hear
Lots of pain in body and me silently bear
No use to raise pain voice to bother members
As they are watching my end coming near

I slight open eyes and watch half consciously
The prayers and hymns are heard continuously
They believer that some last words may make my end peaceful
They are sobbing and watching at me with tears full

I had been with them for decades
Now time has come to bade
It is painful saga and stark reality
Helplessness to feel with remorse and pity

No one may say bad words at the back
As many things will be at stake
Someone may be claiming property and fortune
Others may be worried for good days gone

I have love each and everyone
Out side too and not at home alone
I see its impact today as death bell rings
Prayer is on with tears and they all sing

What a bond to feel at the time of heavenly journey!
Nothing accompanies not even relatives, friends or money
Only good will and well wishes at the time of departure
Wishing rest in peace and making it sure

I am half sunk and repeatedly opening eyes
They all lower their heads and desperately try
To hear gentle words if I ever I tried to speak
Strengthen their belief and not make them weak

Yes, it is midnight knock
And I hear heavy foot steps and sound of clock
Both arms have been struck at right 12 o'clock
I am closing eyes as if life is running out of stock

I may miss her

It left a deep scar on mind
I was in pain to feel and find
The naked truth about reality
The very much essence of life and quality

In young age if someone deserts
It does have little effect of flirts
You are not matured enough to feel pulse
You always want new and something else

I was pushed in corner at sudden departure
She was no more with me to endure
All my pains and agony to be shared
We both had challenged and dared

I would ask her jokingly about death
“Who will lay the floral wreath?
What would you do in such situation?
She would feel pain urge for discontinuation

No one is immune from death or immortal
It may be natural, simple one or fatal
This fact is known to all and almost dreaded
Any advice in this regard is silently heeded

It was ample proof of our happy stay
She was in good state of health and never went away
Not a day would have passed that she not beside
I felt so much elated to find her on my side

It was pleasant to say good bye daily
It was done in a good faith to find her happily
She would glance at all the members of the family
I too would smile at her and acknowledge it gladly

I never thought end may come soon
I used to walk miles in the burning noon
With the only hope that I will have to rush
As I had seen her last in morning with brush

She will keep everything ready for next day
Ad I had forgetful nature all the way
It was her routine to make it doubly sure
I was careless about next day or future

Such happy days won’t be back again
She is not likely to come back and regain
As she was laid there motionless and dead
I could still see worry on her face and read

I felt as if she would speak something
Though she was nowhere to miss anything
I was left behind to take care of everything
She was heavenly abode for nothing

I know it is inevitable part
Every living thing has to depart
It is destiny and ruled for all
No one can escape divine call

I will not cry over her death
As I have full trust and faith
Even though she has left early
I may miss her very dearly

A Lola or grandma

She remained motionless and was laid on the ground
Her mortal remains could only be visibly found
She had completed her successful journey around
It was destined time to depart with no alarm or sound

We stood motionless and watched her lifeless body
She was before placed before us for the knowledge of everybody
Soon she will be taken to final place and laid to rest
This was real time for all of us to remain calm and stand the test

Oh, grandma you are no more
Who I will remember and adore?
I never witnessed such scene this before?
I couldn’t think about any idea to explore

She was source of strength to all of us
She had all the courage and trust
She was like complete shed as that of tree
We us to live and feel completely free

She will call me personally and confide
Would you not tell me truth and not hide?
Why you want to lead your life as lone woman?
Don’t you prefer honest and trustworthy as your man?

“No” I used to argue loudly and then cry?
Aged persons seemingly asking same questions, why?
I used to be in rage but same time feeling very shy
Grandma was really a kind woman and making worth try

I may miss her very badly as she is no more with family
I cried a lot with emotions and looked so silly
It was the moment for all of us to shed tears
She was now not among us and those were the worst fears

She lived her life with full honor
Brought us up in family even though we were minor
She worked very hard for our well being
We felt as if we were crippled without wing

“Lola” or grandma has left for heavenly abode
I still feel she is among us and never bade
She is remaining before my eyes all the day
I don’t feel loneliness and find the correct way

She used to call me and whisper in ears
“What will you really do in coming year? ”
You got to find a lovely companion
He should be real all-rounder and champion

“I will keep him at bay and never allow”
He will have to obey and strictly follow
If he doesn’t then he will have to forgo
I will not accept and let him go”

Such were nicest words that still sound my mind
No ideal family may have luck to have such lola to find
I may miss but may find her everywhere in the home
I still may hear her foot steps when stroll or roam

Lola…… grand mother

Lovely sweet home

It was my dream and lovely sweet home
But she was not to be stepped in and welcome
I have deep anguish and burning heart
At certain times I had to take decision and part

She always remained at center of heart
Yet it was painful decision to depart
No one would have thought of it in life time
Still it took place in our life leading to biggest crime

I remember the promises we exchanged
Stars counted and pleasantries shared
Moon was not that beautiful as she sat near by
Heaven was besides me and got it without any try

I sunk more into deep memory
It had nothing but to add more worry
There was no reason to feel sorry
Yet I was left with single task to carry

She would hold my hand and reiterate
Smile with bright shine and state
“I shall never desert” and always be yours
She may wink the eyes and pleasantly assure

I was flying high with all golden dreams
We were paired heavenly as team
All happy moments and no more concerns
All of sudden it took ugly turns

Neither was it sudden heavy rain
Nor severe earth quake in chains
It was blow caused from plain distrust
Caused by altercation and unwanted thrust

She would boost from beauty point of view
No doubt she deserved all attention and was due
Bu there was limit to cause a pain on that count
Some pressure was building up or was about to mount

There is no more cordial relation
“Break up is call” and given clear indication
Soon I would be on way out of my own
The patch up drive has failed and made known

I miss all those happy moments
There is no more reason to resent
I believe it could have been avoided
The rail could not have been at all collided

Destiny might have something to offer
Separate ways to live and silently differ
I shall never seek and run after
You may now never burst into laughter

I look around and see no one hears
Eyes become watery and I weep the tears
I feel shame and shake the head with fear
I have lost the right now to address her as dear

Early Works - They See What They Could Have Done

The calling of death rings in their ears
as the bleeding and dying
plead to forget their fears.
Pleading to forget their private hells and indignations,
they brought with their years of stagnation.

As their lives flicker passed
in life’s, last moment of jest
before their bodies are laid to rest,
they see what they could have done but never tried
and sorrow confronts them in the last moments before they died.

They see what they could have done,
they could have tried to help someone
and in their mind it stayed there
until the last moment when death takes all air.
They find in they are failure to everyone,
thus consequence are mourned by no one.

An uncommon will

I feared the death through assassin’s bullet
I too was aware that people may soon forget
I thought to make my wish open in public
I was strongly in opposition to turn into relic

I wished to be buried under the grave
I am weak but still very brave
What I miss and what I have?
I want to return everything they gave

I was down to earth and remained among them
They praised at every time like gem
How can I forget their love and affection?
They remained calm an d at peace without any reaction

What is my contribution to their cause?
Absolutely nothing except their feeling to rouse
Trim them to face any eventuality in crisis
This was the only reason and basis

I was loved by them as next to incarnation
What was so unique in me for such observation?
As it happens in all the cases, it was just trust
It was to be reciprocated and was essentially must

I am not any dignitary or heavenly placed person
There can be many or unseen reasons
What actually seen was their undisputed affection?
I had nothing to do with my logic or action

Now a days that cares for departed soul?
Many heads parish in oblivion and role
No one takes slight notice or note of it
You must think and take decision when you are fit

I am ordinary human being surrounded by mere facts
I have no special quality or worthwhile tact
It was all alone a single asset and reserve
People thought I was the person to deserve

I never wished my ashes to be immersed in holy rivers
Many had thought it to happen with strong fervor
I wished them all success in life but refused to create even cemetery
Why all big people or dignitaries preferred running commentary?

Many advocated my ashes to be thrown from mid air to ground
Some strong attachment was believed to be found
It was believed that by doing so I shall remain close to soil
The sentiment was running high and continued to boil

I was dead against the cheap gimmick and advocated for simple burial
They had special affection and love and that can’t result into denial
How can one play with the popular sentiments and cash on popular wave
I had everything what any body could dream and have

It shall remain as permanent history
I never wanted it to be shrouded in mystery
What could be traced later on as cherished memory?
When I look back from heaven, I should not feel even slight sorry?

Difficult to forget

It is difficult to forget near ones
They won’t be missed by some one
But by persons of close vicinity
And all members of the family

We may go on missing them forever
One day they may fade away however
They may still come and invade the memory
You may think and add to tension and worry

Any new place of similar nature may force you to think
You will slip into deep memory and try to sink
It will give you momentary relief and some kind of joy
Even though it is sad to miss any one and enjoy

We are sentimental and everything has some attachment
We may try to get near it and make happy comments
When that thing becomes thing of past
Some memory may not be forgotten and long last

More you cry and miss
He will get shock and a pulse
Where ever he is, he will have pain
As he will be in heavenly abode to remain

Insted do a thing which was so dear
He always tried for to be near
He will be with you for the years
And remind you he is with you and in your tears

These are unforgettable painful moments
There are no words left for comments
Yet we go on remembering them as and when feel free
We may have all comforts as if sitting under the shed of tree

Shame On Humanity

'Pray God that you in next birth you remain childless'
The pain and agony was clearly seen on the villager's face
They had brought one old widow lady from the village
To her nephew's house when fell sick due to old age

The nephew shouted 'I don't know her please take back'
The villagers were shocked and taken a back
It was bolt from the blue and totally inhuman
He was directly descendent and related to old woman

We were all taken by surprise and lamented
He was unmoved and not in any way resented
It was an end of humanity and had lost all the relevance
He did not look back to old lady and left the place at once

I saw the death fear in old lady and just wept
She had given all her property to him and nothing was kept
It with only with one hope that he may take her care in old age
Where as he had inherited everything and now ended the bondage

The villagers were innocent and had brought lady in good faith
Now she was lying in taxi and waiting for last breath and death
I was watched her with so much of helplessness
The betrayal caused by nephew was clearly reflecting on face

The villagers provided her all relief by gracefully saying
'Remember almighty and wish that you have no such son staying away'
All people, who surrounded old woman, silently cursed
That nephew had no mercy at heart and failed to nurse

I came to know later on that old lady died on the way
But she had no remorse for her being pushed away
She had brought up that man when his parent had died
He was brought up with all the care but lastly he lied

What we comment on such behavior?
When person comes down so lower
Lower in thinking and with mean mentality
Certainly we can feel shame on humanity

A day of heartbreak

A simple statement
Just a few words long
Cut like a knife
And now everything's wrong

It started with a deep breath
The words then followed

Made shattered dreams

Now everything's hollowed

She kept it in

The pain, heartache and fears

Rest her head and prayed

Tomorrow there would be no tears

Soon the sun rose

Bringing a new day

Smiling

She locked her fears away

Keeping busy

Pushing out the thought

Watching the clock

Waiting to see what time brought

Hours passed by

Time will soon tell

Has her heart grown stronger

And out of love fell

The clock has struck

And so it seems

She's out of luck

And weak

Not a word was sent

Not a word was heard

Staring at his name

Her eyes teared

Pushing through her dark cloud

Setting aside fears

Needing to hear his voice

Wiping away tears

With a simple 'hi'

Relief washed over her

With a sigh

Her pain fades away

After a day of uncertainty

Heartache & pain

Still in love it seems

With no disdain

Our Life's Greatest Treasure

Met in high school, still together
when college did come.
Graduation day, a joy for us two,
together we decided to be one,
darling, just me and you.

Two years passed and with a
baby girl we were blessed, like
two birds we had started our
loving nest. She brought such
joy to us, so in God we then
put all our trust.

We decided that we needed you
at home, so you became a 'stay at
home Mom.' Such loving care you
poured into out little one and
into our growing home.

Late the following spring, God had
blessed our lives again. A little
brother for our Sara Anne. We were
so happy, so filled with joy, God's gift
to us, a baby boy.

We watched them grow, and so close
they grew, bringing so much love to
me and you. We had such strength
in our little family, there was nothing
we couldn't do, in our hearts, love
would conquer all, this we knew.

The day little Joey turned two, another
blessing, as you gave us the news.
A long nine months, as so many
troubles you had, the day came when
once again you made me a Dad.
But when the doctor gave the news,
it left us broken hearted and sad.

You grew so weak, each breath came
far and few, I prayed to God, 'honey I
knew I couldn't lose you.' I held your hand,
as the children did cling to your side,
you took that last breath, 'honey that
was the moment the biggest part
of me died.'

An infant in my arms, two more standing,
clinging onto my side, the rose petals fell
so softly onto the mound of dirt, I don't
think I have ever felt such a hurt.
Remembering the touch of your hand,
the softness in your voice, alone now I
have to do this, I have no choice.

Each day on my way to work, and to take
the kids to school, we stop and give
a rose to you. We stand by you still
each day, and silently to God we pray.
We miss your tenderness, your hugs
and your sweet kiss.

It is hard day to day, the children and
I, trying to make our way. We see you
in the stars at night, we feel your hugs,
when I tuck them in tight. Their tears still
fall, as in the night your name they still
call. It's just not the same dear, since God
took you home, 'I have never felt
so alone.'

On the weekends to our ocean retreat,
through the mist of the oceans we
hear your voice so sweet. Remembering
the ocean to be your favorite place,
going back there, recapturing your
beautiful face.

Hearing your whipsers in the gentle
waves, saying your last goodbys
as you left us that day. Been a year
now, the pain is still there, but I know
you are at peace, in his loving care. 'Darling,
you gave us nothing but sheer pleasure,
and in Heaven I know, God now holds, our
life's greatest treasure.

No one will ever take your place, the
beauty you posessed will never
be found in any heart, nor on any face.
We know you are here with us each and
every day, without you dear, we
wouldn't make it through the day. I see
you in our children, in every tear that
they cry, rest peacefully now my love,
till we meet in our home that I know
you are preparing for us all, there in
the sky.

A music in all

There is music in everything
we must have an eye to find something
The air, the breeze and rising sun
The silver light offered by the moon

Why does the bell ring in ears?
Why seasons change in years?
Why emotions bring tears?
Why threat bring fears?

Melody with difference in each creation
Offer you immediate love with recreation
The planes brought miracles in aviation
The love brought misery alleviation

All sides inter linked for some aspects
Each one drawing acclaim and respect
Nature with its rhythms and beautiful sound
We need to develop keen eye when go around

All gems and jewels under the soil
The snakes hide in form of coil
what a harmony when earth worms create a space?
Earth spread fragrance when rain reaches with grace

Where do I not find His presence?
Is it not mystery with some essence?
What makes it lovelier than holy music?
There is fundamental with unique basic

Hospital Sadness

As I lie around in this bed
Absolutely bored out of mind
I have sad thoughts in my head
I wish that these sad thoughts were left behind
My eyes are flowing with tears
Like a river bank flowing with water
My mind right now is full of fears
Mentally, I am not at my best.

I am
Lonely
Bored
Depressed
Sad

Th is is not where I belong
I want to tell the nurses so long
This is making me sad
When I am out of here I will be glad
I am lying around yearning for the days of home
Where I am free to roam
And not to confirm to one place
I wish time was moving at a fast pace

I miss my friends
I miss my family
I miss everything

And more to yield

You did excel in every field
You had many trophies and shields
You did more and more to yield
Good place and reputation to build

You were very close to nature
I saw in you secured future
You showed me rainbow color
I have all reason to admire and adore

You offered me symbolic gesture
A rose to start with for surety to assure
I zoomed in your powerful hand
You were such a nice and natural friend

Nature too hinted me for very good spring
Cuckoo in garden sprang a surprise to sing
There was no need to offer ceremony for ring
I was flying high with powerful wings

Would we stay in same forever?
I wish you will try for it as permanent bond however
There existed no doubt this before
I am willing to go for it therefore

You make me to breathe fresh air
Let cool breeze blow and raise the hair
I shall hear no sound in the ears
I am natural bird and have absolutely no fears

I am blowing hot and cold
You were assertive and very bold
You whispered gently in ears and told
Grab me forcefully and firmly hold

I had almost everything to accept
Tears rushed in the eyes and I almost wept
I had found heaven in his bold move
He had thrown all cards for me to prove

I fainted for while and thought of an autumn
Spring may go off and it will follow in column
What was I to do to counter the fall out?
I brushed the idea as there was nothing to think about

Ashes To Ashes

When you finally pass away,
Remember that's when not if,
Regardless of how you've got to say,
It'll be strange just lying there stiff.

Will you be able to hear what's going on?
As your relatives look down on you,
By what they're saying will you feel put upon,
Will there be many or perhaps just a few.

The comments you'll have heard before,
On many a sombre occasion,
To some just being there will be such a chore,
As inside they'll be filled with elation.

Some will be saying, ‘' Thank God he's dead ‘'
As they give your wife a wry smile,
‘' I always said he was off his head ‘'
Your reputation they'll try to defile.

Then there'll be those who genuinely care,
Mainly family members and friends,
They'll all be crying, this just isn't fair,
A broken heart never mends.

There will be the usual funeral crowd,
Just out for a meal and a bevy,
After a few drinks they'll start to get loud,
The conversation will then turn heavy.

It wouldn't be a funeral without a good fight,
After a session the battle begins,
It doesn't matter who's wrong or right,
It's the price you pay for your sins.

Did he leave me any money or perhaps his house?
Who is getting his big fancy car?
Though I always thought of him as a low down louse,
Taking his cash I would never debar.

In this cruel world there are hypocrites galore,
Funerals seem to bring out the best,
Seeing their crocodile tears is hurtful it's sore,
I'm not ready to be laid to rest.

Though I've never been near a Church in years,
For some reason that's where I'm interred,
The very thought of it has me in tears,
My demise I now wish they'd deferred.

I was promised I'd be buried and felt elated,
All my wishes would finally come true,
But the deadbeats are having me cremated,
If I could I'd knock them all black and blue.

They're saying I'm off to a better place,
How in Gods name would they know?
I'd be happier if my previous life they'd replace,
I'll be glad to let one of them go.

This dying is not what it's cracked up to be,
The wife's saying it's the quietest I've been,
What in the world does she expect of me,
I'm deceased that's why I look so serene.

I've accepted I'm dead now it's my time to go,
I won't stay in a place I'm not wanted,
For your treatment of me I must let you know,
I'll ensure forever more you'll be haunted.

I may end up Heaven or it could be Hell,
Though Gods rules I don't believe I've abused,
Depending on the judge, who can tell,
All these religions have got me confused.

Well it's finally time I'm now on my way,
All I can see are bright flashes,
Will I live to fight another day?
Or will it be Just,

‘' Ashes To Ashes ‘'

Oh, Son

Oh, son where were you all these years!
I wanted to hear that sweet voice of yours
In this lovely world I missed you for long time
You were not even asking me in prayer times

What has happened to you?
You were obedient, honest and true
What made you to be of forgetful nature?
You schooling, education and everything was made very much sure

You used to come and weep by my bed side
I could feel the tears dropp and the words you wanted to confide
I was helpless my dear son when you were just a kid
I was moved by your presence and it spun my head

I left this beautiful land on fateful day
I knew you were dragged and taken away
Your crying words still echo ears
I could understand your pain and fears

Years after years have turned into decades
My memory is now completely faded
You were not to find single second for mother
What was reason for all these years to bother?

I heard little fainted voice from distance
I loved some words closely for instance
You were asking for few minutes to talk
How can I afford to neglect you and walk away?

For all these years you might have been busy with your family?
May be facing tough life for scaling ladder not available readily
Yet it speaks of ignorance and ungratefulness on your part?
The life might have brought you glory but what a bad end with good start

Now you have found the little time
That too after retirement when no one hears you sometimes
It speaks of little childish attitude
But all my feelings for you do not dilute

For all these years you did not care
To see agony on my face and bothered
Mothers are still mothers and shall remain unique
Forget everything even if lately offered kick

I have no words to offer
As not many people may differ
Speak in different tone and not side
But I am always with you whenever you face danger and collide

No More

Father was running small shop
As trader he was considered flop
Even though with investment he was called merchant
He was gentleman and had no reason to resent

We used to live and pull on bare means
As he was in fix to find two square meals
Income was low and always falling short
His boat was never reaching at port

Totally unconcerned with worldly affairs
He seemed to be kind at heart and very fare
He will call me near and put hand over head
Advise of me of few words and try to read

Tears may just roll from my eyes
As I could see pain in his futile try
He wanted me to grow as fast as possible
To remove all poverty and take the family out of troubles

The hard days existed for many days
He could bear no more and passed away
I was informed of in the school and rushed
So as to witness but nearly got pushed

He was laid straight on ground
People around him were silently found
No one uttered a word but consoled me
As I was still minor and seemed laden with worry

I did not forecast about what would be the future
Now everything was rested with on the mother
I was her sole hope and she had no tears
She was mentally prepared to look forward and bear

I could see and experience little grief
But it soon got vanished and remained for brief
We could wait no more for sad days
There was urgent need to cope and pay

Death of an elder in home is huge loss
It can result in loss and may certainly cause
The heavy burden on family members
To face it bravely with lots of things to remember
