So Wrong
social collective
care not
hyenas, all
head high
this, so right
wrong? whole being says nay!
for us do prey
tis the way
present must-
prey to be!
not for future
nor wishes
fleeting, these
gaps that fill,
our existence

Man is man's prey.
Frogs find flies as their prey;
Birds find worms as their prey;
Cats find rats as their prey.
For man, another man is prey.

Mountain king
Your Gold pelt
Your sharp claw
Your bold nature
That one cannot draw
You're the lion of the hills
King of the rocks
You're an icon of the mountain
You will not fit in any box
You prey on your enemies
With a merciless stare
They run for their life
But you do not care
You have your home
And protect it with care
You set out alone
To take some of theirs
You are the Mountain Lion
And all will bow before thee
You present you kingdom on high
For all to see

Land Of Rape And Honey
face to face
blood to blood
the mountain
you tumbled from
and in the land of rape and honey
you prey
step by step
you climb the mountain
you prey
fist to fist
eye to eye
the rulers of the wasteland
and in the land of rape and honey
you prey
step by step
you climb the mountain
you prey
head to head
chest to chest
which country is the very best?
and in the land of rape and honey
you prey
step by step
you climb the mountain
you prey

I Should Have Been More Like Her
The little man
on my shoulder says
I should have been more
like her,
sugar sweet
but that's not me.
He says
I should have been more like her-
move to deceive
to keep him;
I'll not;
even if the price I pay
is Lonely.
Should have been
more observant
perhaps
and noticed all this
but mine
is not to compete
rather I strive to
complete;
to link-
the linkage
between
which seems
to me
builds foundations
that relationships
really need
to live beyond
the first kiss.
But the little man
says I am too wise
in this
and counsels
that first catch your prey
then educate.
I cannot
prey
upon my prey;
it's not my way.
I wait;
I say
for the right way
and the little man
goes poof
and
disappears.

Miss Praying Mantis
Miss Mantis! camouflaged stand still as you pray.
But many understand you are waiting for prey
Some other can't know so come closer to you
You promptly speed up on your mission to pursue.
To eat the prey alive, is your first choice and lust
if prey would resist, you will eat its head first,
Exclusive predator dependent on meat of prey
chew like chocolate moving the jaws sideway.
Your wisdom never ends here, you fly in nights.
To seem larger and threatening, fan wings wide.
Detect the sounds produced by approaching bats
your camouflage and colour help you to protect.
Miss Praying Mantis! too have exceptional beauty
With remarkable pose, style; totally slick and sexy,
Matching colour make up and your camouflage
Makes you no way less than a Hollywood actress.

Social Security Reform
They have found an answer for social security
Put them in a nursing home, no liability
Medicaid and medicare will probably have to pay
Then they'll only live a year or two and become their prey
The nursing home corporations, will get rich
And the social security payments, they can ditch
Who's powerful enough to point a finger at them
Some politicians is where it all will stem
The corporations make large contributions
Giving social security great solutions
Let's change the laws and cap health care liabilty
And hurt the care in nursing homes, supposed to be tranquilty
I guess when people get old, they don't need a voice
After all it's not their own, it's the goverments choice!

Born to serve time
Consumed by time elapsed,
Masked and veiled the future but holds,
Uncertainty in every breath,
As predators loom large.
Sleight of hand, twist of fate,
Crippled, scarred or simply marred,
Does it really matter who falls prey?
To feel the pain.
Grateful to days elapsed for designs undone,
Prey to the future's prowl,
Born to serve time,
Till we succumb....

Bird Of Prey
I can see that look that says beware
Try to move in closer if you dare
So I must sit and play
My waiting game
And for a while I know
Shell do the same
Fly away
Watches like an eagle from its eerie
And like a bird of prey
She captures me
But I am older and
More wise than you
Bird of prey
Straight into me you flew
Fly away
Now every time I tried to set her free
Im glad to say she comes
Right back to me
But if I knew she didnt want to stay
I wouldnt try to keep that
Lovely bird of prey

A Hunter
in the forest of life
a hunter kept searching
for a prey to stalk
and salt for a meal or two.
stealthily he moved
afraid of dry leaves underfoot
eyes fixed on a prey.
lo! without warning
the prey's image got blurred.
disappointed he trudged
only to meet a similar fate
home bound he trekked
a man bitter at fate
yet no one promised anything.

Never Can We Know
Never in this world can we know
The country of a person who rides
His car for more than twenty years.
Beaming on the world its lights are out,
After so many centuries and years,
Some of us live among the times.
This considers a roof and house,
Jostling behind the crowd and looking
At certain beasts of prey,
This prey is dead after so much hunting.
This nation shall relish the disaster
Made by some who learn and prey.

Abortion
My veins are poppin from this love inside
I just cant let it out
This pipe and these needles are my only guide
Theyve got me on the wrong route
What is my life about?
Living in the shadows of a man Ive never seen
And dreamin like a lonley child
I know your brothers and your sister and your mother too
Man I wish you could see them too
Oh lord, oh lord
Man I wish that you could see them too
Man I wish that you could see them too
So can I come to see you sometime?
Cause Ive been missin you
Ive never heard you cry
Ive never seen you why
Im feeling oh so young
But still I must die to get to you
And if I do I wonder how just you will see me
And implicate the things Ive done
Im dieing in the shadows of this man Ive never seen
Ill see you soon
Now wheres my gun?
Oh lord, oh lord
Oh lord, wheres my gun?
Oh wheres my gun?
Oh lord, wheres my gun?
Oh lord, my gun
Let me open your eyes
Let me see who you are
I am you, you are me
We are a part of
The second coming of christ
Its God himself in a jar
Yeah yeah
Let me open your eyes
Let me see who you are
I am you, you are me
We are a part of
The second coming of christ
Its God himself in a jar
Yeahhhh heyaaaaa
You got me, sad and lonely
But Im me, me
You know you make me so lonely
I am so lonely
And I will prey and then Ill cry
And I will prey and then Ill cry
And I will prey and then Ill cry
And I will prey and then Ill cry

Jungle
Here I go
Down below
The sun is goin' down
A jungle comes alive
The beast is waking up
To take another life
I can't sleep
In too deep
The man with nothing left
Without a place to hide
Will take a final breath
And tumble in the night
Yeah
Someone's safe at home
Someone dies alone
Someone's fallen prey
Yeah
Some will take their fill
Like lions to the kill
Livin' day to day
Whoooaaaaaoooohhhh, The Jungle
Mothers mourn
Fathers groan The child takes a hit
And then he starts to cry
A mother never hears
Her baby's last goodbye
Yeah
Someone's safe at home
Someone dies alone
Someone's fallen prey
Yeah
Some will take their fill
Like lions to the kill
Livin' day to day
Whoooaaaaaoooohhhh, The Jungle
The sun is coming up
A city comes alive
The lamb will never see
A jungle in the sky
Yeah
Someone's safe at home
Someone dies alone
Someone's falling prey
Yeah
Some will take their fill
Like lions to the kill
Livin' day to day
Yeah
Someone dies alone
Someone's safe at home
All is flesh and bone
Whoooaaaaaoooohhhh, The Jungle

Aubade And I Am Not Like Other Birds Of Prey
Morning at last!
Every night is a fight till you're waking
Dreams dancing past
Through the silence of sleep
Dawn is breaking
I wake and watch them till then
And I am not like other birds of prey
And I am not like other birds of prey
Oh, night is long, you won't needing me
For a dressed up time I am there to see
That fear holds no sway
Soft is my plan
And my eyes kill the lies that felt happy
Life is my right
And in sleep's little bed
I'll protect you
So, hear, let my presence dismay
That I am not like other birds of prey
That I am not like other birds of prey
When hopes are young and your cares are few
Then I'm sure above keeping truth in you
And my name is love

We truly have an ancient part of the brain that was about survival when we were prey but we seem to have gone past prey. We eat everything and nothing eats us.

Paper Nest
Dementia begins. The ending starts.
Death had many names;
The mountain owls. They fly in flocks
and take prey diving on rabbits or great
bustards. Have you seen the courtship
display of bustards? They are heavy birds. Fly,
but also run very fast.
Soaring flight of eagle. Keen sight and a massive
hooked bill. Hawk takes prey by surprise.
Falcon catches prey from above.
I think water. Don't cry. Your son was
drowned in a tank when he was three. Head
down. We pulled him out after half-an-hour.
Brain damaged. He babbles now, lives a vegetable.
Neat. Death had many faces. You want her.
It will not come on asking. I think flames. We
must lock the house, and come out on skywalk.

The Conquest
The Son of Love and Lord of War I sing;
Him who bade England bow to Normandy
And left the name of conqueror more than king
To his unconquerable dynasty.
Not fann'd alone by Victory's fleeting wing,
He rear'd his bold and brilliant throne on high:
The Bastard kept, like lions, his prey fast,
And Britain's bravest victor was the last.
The Full Monty
Should I compare thee to the cathode ray,
The snaking tube that monitors our lugubrious world,
And skims the social sea with ubiquitous display
And dismal content? Has Monty's python uncoiled?
For now it slithers across the living-room floor,
To deliver the dross to willing prey, so mesmerised
By the glamour and glossy allure (its jaws flip open,
Our collective head in its gaze) we are anaesthetised
To the danger by the vicarious gore. And swallowed
Whole in surrender, we might as well fall on our sword!
Should I contrast the blasted swill, constantly hurled
Into our surly consciousness, with the occasional pearl
Of true understanding? Or should I forswear thy peerless
Company for an early retirement and tasks less demanding?

Winter Frost
winter frost forms on the window
a window that looks out at the soal
this winter comes with no mercy
the winter that calls itself a friend
it graps and holds its prey dear
starting to extract all of it's warmth
then suddenly it lets go
throwing it's prey out the door
leaving the prey to look through the window
only to find winter frost apon it's soul

Face of the Tiger
Hungry for the prey in the night
The tiger is invisible behind the unknown
Slowly approaching his prey undetected
An innocent animal having done nothing wrong
The eyes of the tiger never look back
He knows what he wants for the night
The expression on his face seems harsh and cruel
Hurting an innocent animal for his appetite
The helpless animal has nowhere to run anymore
