Courage To Move On
My fate can be no crueler,
Now that yesterday’s my ruler;
All due to long past pain
That each day enslaves my brain.
If I did more things right.
If others had more insight.
With times weren’t what they were,
Pain today would not occur.
That tragedy is set in stone.
It hangs around my neck alone.
If only something else were said,
This lead weight might be my bread.
All that happened was my fault.
I had a chance to call a halt
When wounds and wails weren’t so bad.
Now maudlin memories drive me mad.
Or was it all just happenstance
That holds me prisoner in this trance?
If this be true, then I fell
To gutters, goblins… my self-made hell.
At times I stop and wonder;
Would my life still go asunder
If I put the past behind
And looked to see what I could find
In today’s rewards and cheers,
The offspring of sad yesteryears?
Until my ruling past is gone,
I won’t have courage to move on.

The Future Of The Past
New times are now old ones,
Old ones are now history,
History becomes ancient,
Ancient becomes unknown,
Unknown shifts though time,
Shaping and molding in every which way,
Unknown times become myths,
Myths become religions,
False becomes truth,
Truths move to morals,
Morals are now what we live by,
Now has just become then,
The past has once been the future,
The future will soon become the past,
You were once born in the future of the past,
But the past has caught up,
And taken you with it.
Like a deadly arrow the past pierces life,
The future itself becomes victim to its strike.
As if to be Bonnie and Clyde,
Hand in hand the two opposites collide,
Together bringing everything to their long awaited fate.
Doing what they do best toward their ever most passions,
The future and the past are, and were, the two deadliest assassins,
Today,
Tomorrow,
And yesterday...

My Memories
Today will be a memory
yesterday is a memory drifting away
memories turn into tears,
tearing us apart.
Fear of moving on, afraid of change,
in a minute this will just be a memory
memories are all pain in vain
memories are like dreams, a reflection of the past.
Memories are vision of what it used to be.
my memories are sadness and struggle
what are yours?
are they sadness and struggle?
You are but a memory
that dwindles as each day passes me by.
and as you slowly vanish
I huddle in my room and cry.
A memory that’s all I have
that’s all that’s left of you
nothing but a mere memory
that still lingers, only for a little while longer in my head.
Don’t forget about the past
without memories there is no yesterday.
make every day one to remember a
memory to move on with no pain or anymore regrets

Carve Away The Stone
Words by neil peart, music by geddy lee and alex lifeson
You can roll that stone
To the top of the hill
Drag your ball and chain
Behind you
You can carry that weight
With an iron will
Or let the pain remain
Behind you
Chip away the stone
(sisyphus)
Chip away the stone
Make the burden lighter
If you must roll that rock alone
You can drive those wheels
To the end of the road
You will still find the past right
Behind you
The weight of the load
Try to put the sins of the past night
Behind you
Carve away the stone
(sisyhpus)
Carve away the stone
Make a graven image
With some features of your own
You call roll the stone
To the top of the hill
You can carry that weight
With an iron will
You can drive those wheels
To the end of the road
You can try to deny
The weight of the load
Roll away the stone
(sisyhpus)
Roll away the stone
If you could just move yours
I could get working on my own

Thanks for the Memories by Fall Out Boy
[Intro]
I'm gonna make it bend and break
(It sent you to me without wait)
Say a prayer, but let the good times roll
In case God doesn't show...
(Let the good times roll)
(Let the good times roll)
[Verse 1]
And I want these words to make things right
But it's the wrongs that make the words come to life,
'Who does he think he is? '
If that's the worst you got
Better put your fingers back to the keys
[Chorus]
One night and one more time
Thanks for the memories
Even though they weren't so great;
'He tastes like you, only sweeter'!
One night, yeah, and one more time
Thanks for the memories, thanks for the memories;
'See, he tastes like you only sweeter'!
Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh
[Verse 2]
Been looking forward to the future
But my eyesight is going bad
And this crystal ball
It's always cloudy except for
(Except for)
When you look into the past
(Look into the past)
One night stand...
(One night stand, oh)
[Chorus]
One night and one more time
Thanks for the memories
Even though they weren't so great;
'He tastes like you only sweeter'!
One night, yeah, and one more time
Thanks for the memories, thanks for the memories;
'See, he tastes like you only sweeter'!
Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh
[Interlude]
They say
I only think in the form of crunching numbers
In hotel rooms collecting page-six lovers
Get me out of my mind
And get you out of those clothes
I'm a liner away
From getting you into the mood
Whoa
[Chorus]
One night and one more time
Thanks for the memories
Even though they weren't so great;
'He tastes like you but sweeter'!
One night, yeah, and one more time
Thanks for the memories, thanks for the memories;
'See, he tastes like you only sweeter'!
[Chorus]
One night and one more time (One more night, one more time)
Thanks for the memories
Even though they weren't so great;
'He tastes like you but sweeter'!
One night, yeah, and one more time (One more night, one more time)
Thanks for the memories, thanks for the memories; (For the memories)
'See, he tastes like you only sweeter'!

Sorry To A Friend
Sittin on the edge
Looking for songs in a bottle
Talking with strangers who dont know my pain
Blurry eyed and burned out
Choking on more than I can swallow
Crack in a little voice called out my name
She said ~ whatever happened to you,
Its been two years where have you been.
And I guess all my fears were true
The words were all gone the times been too long.
But I deserve to know what happened to my friend
Staring in her face, I see a past that still haunts me
The road where we split up is paved with the things I didnt say
We had wonderful times, but terrible timing
Now just leave her alone, Ill just be in the way
She said whatever happened to you
You took the cowards way out again
And I guess all my fears were true
The words are all gone, the times been too long
But its not too late to say Im sorry to a friend
Im sorry to a friend. sorry to a friend
Like a stone in a stream
Life smoothes all our edges
til we barely make a ripple any more
But those times in my life will live with me forever
But were not the same people that we were before
And Im sorry for the smiles we missed and the times that I blew it
Ive got so much to tell you I dont know where to start
Maybe Ill find a way maybe youll help me do it
cause friends like us should not be apart
And Im sorry to a friend
Well now Im sorry

Today is better than Yesterday
Yesterday
Yesterday, I was running with to feet
Yesterday, I was playing with kids
Yesterday, I was kicking the ball
Yesterday, I had it all, all was mine.
Yesterday, I was growing well,
Yesterday, I had it all undercover
Yesterday was my day
Yesterday, my days were
Yesterday, I had a lover, ‘true lover’
Yesterday, promises were made
Yesterday, promises were not kept
Yesterday, I was happy.
Yesterday, I gave him everything
Yesterday, I sacrificed everything
Yesterday, I was a fool
Yesterday, I was dying
Today
Today, I am lying in bed
Today, I am watching hopeless kids
Today, I can hardly move
Today, everything is falling
Today, I am dying in bed
Today, it is all wrong
Today, is not my day
Today, my days are not
Today, I have no one
Today, promises are broken
Today, promises are not
Today, I have no hope
Today, I long for myself
Today, I cry over spilled milk
Today, I am wise
Today, I live
Whatever happened yesterday is not
Whatever was, is not
Whatever was broken can be fixed
Whatever wound are, can be healed
Just need the Perfect Healer
Jesus I know you are! ! !

Time
Who knows about the future? Who knows what we'll find?
What good and bad things are in store by chance or design?
What can be done today to alter the future's course?
If truth be known you alone rule effects of its force.
Today at work or play only the present exists.
A wise world has no room for a past-present-future tryst.
Each future hour, joyful or dour, will never arrive.
The future will be the future as long as you're alive
The past is gone forever never to steal today's times,
Unless could-have-been memories commit awful crimes.
So love and live each instant of each and every day.
You have so little time as each moment passes away.

Live Today
Live today not as yesterday, or as if there's no tomorow, but live today as today. Because yesterday was the past which you shall not dwell in, and tomorrow is the future which we have no control over. but live today as today, I say at this very moment. So we won't make the same mistakes we made yesterday, And that we won't let today or yesterday jeopardize our future. So I say live today as today, cause it is just another lesson learned. That we won't let our past harm us today, and not let our future be damage by our today's

Shadow of My Memory
Gust of stale wind breeze
whispers,
the memory,
the memory,
the memory,
much feeling
but seems without feelings at all,
candles have heart to,
hesitant to part.
much feeling but its
just as if there's none,
I think of the past
but i can't smile,
candles have heart too
it loathes parting.
Today will be a memory,
yesterday was a memory
drifting away, but
count not the time,
rather the moments.
our past days are beautiful
the things we kept
in our memory cache full.
the things we left are so many
fear of moving on,
fear of change,
wails of grief sucked
up excavated nose
soul wailing to the
top of the lungs.
in a minute this will
be just a memory
memories are
all pain in vain
but those are but memories
that dwindles each
day passes by,
as those slowly vanished,
I huddle in my room and cry,
memories are like dreams,
a reflection of the past.

Dry Day
Life as you know will end someday
Since every single day is never the same
Yesterday was a dark age following in today
What a surprise because today was a dry day
You got nothing to do but get wasted
Listen to me brother, don't get me arrested
We gotta break free from this stupid law
What a surprise because today was a dry day
All along as the clock ticked by I waited
It seemed as if the time was all destined
A moment of space without you I stay
What a surprise because today was dry day
Grieving low all past long when I'm high
Help me grace, love will relieve the pain
Let us explore the world as the drunk one said
What a surprise because today was dry day
As past enfolds into this mystery today
I look behind back in those days
Suck glorious moments filled us held today
What a surprise because today was dry day

A Letter to My Daughter Christine
To many miles apart are we now
can i say i'm sorry anyhow
yesterday we talked about what happened
words were said, that should be tossed away
years ago in a far away day
when you both came over to stay
Jimmy is gone now, but your still here
so we have today, yesterday is gone
tomorrow will bring new memories
that we can share my daughter dear
Chris lets start today brand new, the past is long gone
so sorry about things that have happened to you
I love you so much, more than you know
lets make today a brand new start
i know if we do, it will bring a glow to our heart
My Memories
Today will be a memory
yesterday is a memory drifting away
memories turn into tears,
tearing us apart.
Fear of moving on, afraid of change,
in a minute this will just be a memory

I HATE YOU 'hate
my tears are flowing like a rain,
when am trying to catch that love train,
my feet fails to move as they feel pain,
through the bad memories existing in my brain.
I remember my life's suffering,
when he took me for granted, i was crying,
A nobody, useless it's hurting
some times it's a crime memorizing.
Testing his knife on my body! it happened,
even the donkey felt sorry for me, my cat cried,
my voice of pain was like a guitar tuned.
I can't believe today am somebody.
his photocopy standing over me, needs help,
i feel sorry for her but i can't stop,
she's beautifully on making a step,
but the memories i have i can't help.

Would u go back in time
Would you go back and relive painful times?
Would you go back when times weren't in line?
The hurt and pain of death?
The happy time when you first got your pet?
Would you go back when nothing went together,
Nothing rhymed, and nothing was forever?
Going back in time would unbury hurtful things.
Going back in time would show your success was once a dream.
Would you go back to say 'Good-bye'?
Would you go back to say 'Hi'?
Do you believe by going back things would be better?
Do you think you can go back and destroy hurtful letters?
The past should be left in the past and sometimes forgotten,
and the future may become even more shocking.

Ill Take Today
(kent m. robbins/will robinson)
Yeah, shes the one
The one I told you all about
Yeah, it was serious, but it was long ago
She just might walk over here
And give me a kiss for old times
But dont you worry dear
Old times, next to you, can never come close
Ill take today over yesterday, anyday
Ill take lyin in your arms tonight
Over and above any love, Ive known
Memories may find me, but theyll always be behind me
Ill take today over yesterday, anyday
Id be lyin if I tried to tell you now
That I never loved her
And she doesnt ever cross my mind
But that was yesterday, and baby, I dont wanna go back
Here is where Im gonna stay
With you in each tomorrow of my life
Ill take today over yesterday, anyday
Ill take lyin in your arms tonight
Over and above any love, Ive known
Memories may find me, but theyll always be behind me
Ill take today over yesterday, anyday
Memories may find me, but theyll always be behind me
Ill take today over yesterday, anyday

The Tears Of Our Children
In the depth of today,
In the thought of yesterday,
Where do we stand in times movement?
In the past we look at pain,
In the future we look in the eyes of what shall cause us pain.
Yet we stand were we are waiting, waiting for something, anything.
In the suffering of our war,
In the tears of our children who want more,
We have so much that could loose, so much we could pay with.
In the wondering of our ancestors,
In the mind of those who we shall enter,
We are eternity, we are immortality.
In the light of today,
In the light of yesterday,
We are who we are.

Past, Present, Future
i lived in the past for so long
that the present was always unknown.
now i always look ahead at all the possibilities
and there is so much, that i now see.
a shimmer of light at the end of the tunnel
and my thoughts being poured through a funnel.
the past is the past, and that's where it will stay
and in the present, we have to find a better way.
for the present will soon be our past
and if we don't do something, it will not last.
we must always look to the future
for it is only twenty four hours away
then it will be our past
and we have so much to do and say.
when i look at life, i truely have to laugh
today is our future and tomorrow it'll be our past.
now that i have you confused as to what i am
trying to say.
i guess i will try' to put it a better way'.
we all tend to procrastinate
always leaving it for tomorrow.
but! what if you don't see tomorrow.
and today you did'nt accomplish that task
how will you be remembered
if the present you left for last.
when we leave this material world
and our souls soar up in the sky
we will still have our memories
and that we can rely.
for when we get up there(if we do)
your soul will have carried all that you did
in this life
and the memories of friends, family
husband, or wife.
now when you look down on all that you had did
and asking yourself the question.
did i use my time, the way it was
meant to be?
or did i procrastinate, that others now speak of me?
we all have to work in order to survive.
but we must stop on occasion to smell the flowers.
and to enjoy all that we was given
otherwise how can you call this living.
(my thoughts: the words and stories were given to me.
so that i could write them down, for al the world to see.)
this is my philosophy.

Open Book's Monologue Part 4 Bookkeeping
Regular written books or a regular written novel
Could sell
But each copy would essentially be the same
And the words stagnant, unable to change, in a sense lame
Because they cannot move or rearrange
They just never change
But I guess even though I'm an open book that's where we differ
My words do change, and my past is rewritten
When my memories become hazy or hidden
Suddenly I've changed my past, said something different to her
Or him, or supposedly done an action that never did occur.
When witnesses balk and there is no vindication
Nor affirmation
It's hard to keep my memories truthfully
Call me a liar for changing them, but that's me
Bookkeeping is near impossible
Because rewriting my beginnings is possible
It's hard to remember what's fact or fiction
When this novel is just a fantastical rendition
Of what I think my life is or thought my life was
Not what it really is or really was
I think it's because
Those unhappy memories of the past ought
Just to be forgot
So I choose (o so subconsciously) to rewrite them
Only to find they've made my destiny
They've made me- me
It's funny that I write of bookkeeping
And changing the beginning of the book
When I feel so strongly
That such things are impossible for me
So in a sense this poem is a contradiction
But then maybe my changes are just my perception
Of my story because I cannot look back
So I guess I'm wrong... future and past are stained in black
Because as a book I could change what I think
Maybe even float not sink
But that's just my perception, because my story
Is actually
The Immutable tragedy
The tragedy of me
And past... present... future
They won't endure
One day pages will crumble to dust
But I think... I'll go first... Actually I think.... I think...
I must.

A Silly Game of Perhaps Chance
Perhaps... perhaps
I sigh and I grasp
onto the sorted strings
of the past
maybe a perhaps chance?
Perhaps maybe under another circumstance?
A perhaps chance, it'll all work out in the end.
Perhaps with patience
perhaps with time
perhaps beyond
perhaps - perhaps not
perhaps if it weren't for so many
fallen spells of drunken desire
perhaps if no one else had been there
perhaps if someone else was there to see
perhaps if somebody would have spoken out
perhaps everyone went on with life without a word
perhaps I am addicted to things I breathe in dream
perhaps my material body is attached
to too many non-material strings
perhaps it is too much self to which I am
absorbed and stuck
perhaps its the intoxicant past-time of the heart
and its accompanying rush
perhaps then we weren't ourselves
perhaps we all woke living as someone else
perhaps the spring went on without end
perhaps then summer became a lost friend
perhaps in the fall no one ever went away
perhaps the winter came without pass
perhaps the earth's sky was perpetual grey
perhaps no one ever played it safe in life
perhaps I never looked both ways
perhaps your eyes were headlights on a bus
perhaps then I would not be standing here today
oh, perhaps is such a silly game to play,
at night when counting out the stars.
Universe of infinite perhaps chances
blossoming in blackness
listen to the earth:
you can hear a perhaps chance chorus
whispered from a billion broken hearts
stars are proof
a perhaps chance
always leads to a
fresh bright start
