Foolish
Have you ever done something you wish could be made undone?
Something unlike you that makes you wonder, what did I do?
I have done a few
I have squandered
I have lost
I still lose my way a couple times
repeated mistakes made
unfulfilled expectations had
I have been lonely
I have been disadvantaged
had none to repair my despair
I have failed and thou still I'm here
I hope to find some kind and swift redemption
Will time allow me to restore my life?
To be a thousand times more worthy
Will I finally turn from past misgivings?
And move forward towards a glimmering stolen sunset
I have been foolish far too long
but today, I now become a sage

I Love You
I must be crazy now
Maybe I dream too much
But when I think of you
I long to feel your touch
To whisper in your ear
Words that are old as time
Words only you would hear
If only you were mine
I wish I could go back to the very first day I saw you
Should've made my move when you looked in my eyes
'Cause by now I know that you'd feel the way that I do
And you'd whisper these words as you'd lie here by my side
I love you
Please say you love me too
These three words
They could change our lives forever
And I promise you that we will always be together
'Til the end of time
So today I finally find the courage deep inside
Just to walk right up to your door
But my body can't move when I finally get to it
Like a thousand times before
Then without a word you handed me this letter
Read I hope this finds the way into your heart

Mistakes
Time is something we would all like to control;
with it, we could change the destinies of our lives.
We could go back to amend the mistakes we have made,
helping where we should have helped, but did not to our regret.
If we had the chance, would it make us better than we are today?
I doubt it very much, for we would never move forward.
We would still be learning,
or at least trying to learn from the first mistake we made.
Better, we move forward and learn to help others
not to make the same mistakes we made.

Today's the Day
Perhaps today's the day that I break free
Free from the hustle that comes each day
Free from distractions that lead me astray
Perhaps I can be what I'm made to be
Perhaps today's the day I'll choose to move
Move beyond the past into tomorrow
Move with purpose in the way I should go
Perhaps I'll believe I've nothing to prove
Perhaps today's the day I'll find my peace
Peace like a stream flowing fresh to my soul
Peace that brings new meaning and makes me whole
Perhaps that assurance will never cease
Perhaps today's the day I'll hear Your voice
So clearly that my heart will have no choice
If today's the day I'm finally free
May I be free to run and tell the world
With Your banner of love proudly unfurled
For today's the day You have set me free
If today's the day I finally move
May I move boldly toward holy life
Allowing You to guide me through the strife
As I dance for joy for You've made me move
And, if today's the day I find Your peace
May I promote that peace to all I meet
Living in peace and loving those I greet
As I gratefully give others Your peace
If today's the day I will hear Your voice
May I know it and may my heart rejoice

Sonnet: God Ne’er Forsakes Me
How many times have I ignored warnings?
How many times have I tried not to heed?
How many times have I sinned by mornings?
And yet, Thou didst forgive my acts indeed.
How many times have I walked in sin’s paths?
How many times have I reveled in sin?
How many times have I taken sin-baths?
And yet, Thou didst help me o’er Tempter win.
How many times have I failed my duties?
How many times have I Thee disobeyed?
How many times have I lost my mind’s peace?
And yet, Thou didst come promptly to my aid.
How many times have I forgotten Thee?
And yet, Thou didst not once ev’r forsake me.

Too Many Times
Words:deborah d. smith
Music: michael w. smith
Who do I hope to finally be?
Is it not your life in me?
Yet the hows too hard to see
Too many times
Will I ever finally be
The true intended me?
Will the old in me be freed
And left behind?
Chorus:
Too many times
Im back inside
Wanting desperately to hide
Yet I know, I know you say
You have to die
Too many times
You hear my cries
Im at the end of all my tries
So, Im open lord, so
Teach me how to die
Here I am again alone
Afraid Ill lose all that I own
Yet you see me as your one
I cannot fall
And what I am I still am not
At times I count the cost
Yet I find theres nothing lost
If I give it all

Been Through Alot Not Going To Give Up Now
I look back in the past,
and i realize how i got so off track,
my life wasn't easy growing up,
been sexually abused,
got picked on for my weight,
lost my best friend,
when he moved away,
lost a friend from an accident,
we were friends for 5 years,
when i didn't see him in the hall,
i knew something was wrong,
lost my mom,
my best best friend,
who i was close to,
and was my guidence,
had an injury that tested me,
and who i was as a person,
i failed a couple of times,
but finally gotten it right,
fighting through school,
to become something better,
finally it what i wanted,
no matter how long it takes,
i will stay in until the end,
been fighting my whole life,
i'm not giving up now.

Remember Your Past
Try to remember our past,
Remember who made you what you are today;
try to remember your past in times like this.
You dumped me like a trash,
You lied to me like a thief,
You treated me like a fool,
You sold me like a baby,
But do remember the past always.
I have made you what you are today,
Like another client on the Libyan Desert;
Do give credit wher it is due,
Do remember my love for you;
I thought you were my friend but,
Today i am your enemy.
Many are dead and gone,
Many are still waiting to learn;
But, do remember your past.
In this life,
Some may like you and others may hate you;
But, some medicines are easier taken than others.
I thought you were my friend but,
Today i am your enemy.
Now you are against me,
You've turned away from me to another;
You've really disappointed me.
My heart is very sad,
But my mind will always remember you;
You've stolen my trust to marry another man.
Try to be righteous for once,
Try to learn for the better;
Do remember your past at all times.
In the greatest time of trouble,
In the finals of love;
You've really disappointed me.
In the finals of history,
That is when you will look for me;
In the finals of trust,
Money is not everything;
First impressions do matters a lot.
One day,
The bells will ring down on you;
One day,
You will surely remember me for all my love;
You are a grown up woman,
But you've stolen my trust to marry another man.

Very Kind
You run, you run
But this ain't living
You wish you could go back
And begin it all over
But it's over
You fight, you fight
You just keep saying
You'll feel better come sooner or later
In no time
It's been a long time
You still got made to turn it
You still got made to lift you up
Chorus
You got wings
But you can't fly
You got so much pain inside
You're very kind
In your dreams you're so high
But you don't live that in your life
You're very kind
You're so kind
You do, you do
You love me baby
I can't fight when you leave me lazy
With your doubts, your doubts
You try and you try
And there's no winner
You give, give more
But it just gets harder
In your mind
We all try
You still got time to turn it
You still got made to lift you up
Repeat Chorus
You believe you're not good enough
It fills your mind
Plays
It's in the way of you and I
I'd say a thousand times
I know you're one of a kind
You're so kind
Repeat Chorus x2
You got wings

Time, friend or foe?
Times gives life meaning and sustenance, so we're all
somewhat on common ground, so life doesn't confound.
Time doesn't stay the same, nor does the world.
Time goes slow and sometimes fast, and with hope, we shall last.
Time can be lost, and it can cost.
Time can be harnessed, and it can slip through the hand like granules of sand.
Time is a friend or foe, this I know.
Time is a second, a minute, or an hour, it may devour.
Time controls and consoles.
Time, at times, is the aggressor and the lesser, a comforter.
Time heals and steals. Time brings hope and sometimes despair.
Time can repair, and it can be unfair.
Time is eternity, together, with Christ,
the King of Kings, we shall be.
What Kind Of A Guy Are You?
so what guy are you?
i'm lost and confuse,
with all of you mysteriousness,
i must say i like,
but, it still has me playing that game,
what kind of guy are you?
are you a dog or a gentleman?
these are the questions,
that haunt me at night,
to make me think,
you can be the one,
but, i'm stuck trying to find,
what guy are you?
i made that mistake one,
trying to find out a guy,
in the end i lost,
thought i made a mistake,
but, really i made the right one,
i just don't want to lose,
somebody who might be true,
to who they are,
and everything i want in a guy,
just one question remain,
in the back of my head,
what kind of guy are you?

Carlene
(phil vassar/charlie black/rory michael bourke)
I was lousy at math, failed historian
Carlene was the valedictorian
I was the quarter back in the back of classes
She was the whiz kid in horned rim glasses
Its been a long time since Ive been around
Since I stepped foot on my old stomping ground
I ended up by the old school yard
When this red head pulled up in a blue sports car
She said, I bet you dont remember, I guess its been forever.
It took a second to put it all together and I said.
Ooh la la la la la
Looking good carlene
Woh my my my my my
Times been good to you
If you know what I mean
Girl you glitter like hollywood
Good God carlene
You sure are lookin good
She said hop in lets go for a spin
Tell me whatcha been doing boy and where you been
I said I write songs, you probably didnt know, but i
Finally got a couple out on country radio
She said, what a switch, aint life funny, Ive got a phd,
Now Im modeling for money.
Imagine little miss 4.0 just smiling for the camera on the cover of vogue
I said youve come a long way since graduation
Let me say without hesitation
Youve surpassed everyones expectations
Ooh la la la la la
Looking good carlene
Woh my my my my my
Times been good to you
If you know what I mean
Girl you glitter like hollywood
Good God carlene
You sure are lookin good
I said I hope to see you again someday
She said another ten years is too long to wait
Pick me up at my mommas at eight!
And I said.
Ooh la la la la la
Looking good carlene
Woh my my my my my
Times been good to you
If you know what I mean
Ooh la la la la la
Looking good carlene
Woh my my my my my
Times been good to you
If you know what I mean
Ooh la la la la la
Looking good carlene
Woh my my my my my
Times been good to you
If you know what I mean

Of Hopes For Our Future
Of hopes for our future why should we despair
As long as our lungs breathe in life giving air
Of happiness and prosperity all hopes cannot be gone
As long as the will is still there for to keep keeping on.
With the hard times we've met with we've learned to cope
And as long as there's life in us there's always hope
Our will to live stronger than our wish to die
And death is forever give life one more try.
So many have suicided beacuse of lost love
They could not hang in there when push came to shove
There cannot be any glory in suicide
Your will to live weak if for lost love you died.
Our crosses in life may be heavy to bear
But our will to live on keeps us hanging in there
Like the champion boxer who rise off the floor
To go toe to toe and to fight on some more.
Of hopes for our future why should we despair
When a broken heart is never beyond repair
And though one has to lose for another to win
When the going is at it's toughest the tough never give in.

On A Pair Of Dice
We are little brethren twain,
Arbiters of loss and gain,
Many to our counters run,
Some are made, and some undone:
But men find it to their cost,
Few are made, but numbers lost.
Though we play them tricks for ever,
Yet they always hope our favour.

Moving On
My fate can be no crueler,
Now that yesterday’s my ruler:
All due to long past pain
That each day enslaves my brain.
If I did more things right.
If others had more insight.
With times different than they were,
Pain today would not occur.
That tragedy is set in stone.
It hangs around my neck alone.
If only something else were said,
This heavy weight might be my bread.
All that happened was my fault.
I had a chance to call a halt
When wounds and wails weren’t so bad.
Now maudlin memories drive me mad.
Or was it all just happenstance
That holds me prisoner in a trance?
If this be true, then I fell
To gutters, goblins my self-made hell.
At times I stop and wonder.
Would my life still go asunder
If I put the past behind
And looked to see what I could find
In today’s rewards and cheers,
The offspring of sad yesteryears?
Until my ruling past is gone,
I won’t have courage to move on.

Hear I Come-2
All five thousand stand up,
Turn around three times,
Clockwise.
Raise both hands to the sky,
Turn around four times,
Anticlockwise.
Stop!
Bend and touch your toes,
Two times
Stop!
Two thousand sit down,
Cross your legs.
Three thousand stand up:
Wave the banners, right to left,
Five times,
Stop!
Take two steps forward,
One step backward,
Stop!
Throw the confetti,
On the two thousand
And turn three times
Clockwise.
All stand up and shout:
Praise Him!
Praise Him!
Jah!
Take one step backward,
One step forward,
And dip.
Take one step backward,
One step forward
And dip.
Shout:
Praise Him!
Praise Him!
Jah!
Light the banners,
Turn around three times,
Clockwise.
Shout:
Jah! Jah!

Such Portraits From the Past
Is there a relevance in attempts made...
To restore a past,
When an innocence was more restricting?
And the slow pacing done in those days,
Seem to last as long as those gaslights burning.
Or the wax that dripped from candlesticks.
It is difficult to face current times...
That seem less romanticized,
Than those of cobbled stoned streets.
Upon which people mingled,
With a sharing of their simple visions.
In nights then to seem never ending.
Is there a relevance in attempts made...
To restore a past,
When an innocence was more restricting?
And the slow pacing done in those days,
Seem to last as long as those gaslights burning.
Or the wax that dripped from candlesticks,
Thick with wicks homemade.
Is there a relevance to any of this today?
And why some try to glorify such portraits from the past?
Didn't many complained about them when they lived back then?
But today there seems such a renewed interest.
With a wish for those values.
And a quality of life reminiscing embellished victories.

Didnt Cha Know
Didnt cha know
Oh hey...
Ooh hey
Im trying to decide
Which way to go
I think I made a wrong turn back there somewhere
Ooh hey
Im trying to decide
Which way to go
I think I made a wrong turn back there somewhere
Didnt cha know, didnt cha know
Tried to move but I lost my way
Didnt cha know, didnt cha know
Stopped to watch my emotions sway
Didnt cha know, didnt cha know
Knew the toll, but I would not pay
Didnt cha know, didnt cha know
Cause you never know where the cards may lay
Time to save the world
Where in the world is all the time
So many things I still dont know
So many times Ive changed my mind
Guess I was born to make mistakes
But I aint scared to take the weight
So when I stumble off the path
I know my heart will guide me back
Ooh hey
Im trying to decide
Which way to go
I think I made a wrong turn back there somewhere
Ooh hey
Im trying to decide
Which way to go
I think I made a wrong turn back there somewhere
Didnt cha know, didnt cha know
Tried to run but I lost my way
Didnt cha know, didnt cha know
Stopped to watch my emotions sway
Didnt cha know, didnt cha know
Knew the toll but I would not pay
Didnt cha know, didnt cha know
I said ya never know how the cards may lay
Love is life, and life is free
Take a ride on life with me
Free your mind and find your way
There will be a brighter day
Love is life, and life is free
Take a ride on life with me
Free your mind and find your way
There will be a brighter day

Many Mistakes By Them Were Made
Now they want to say,
Many mistakes by them were made.
As if a stumbling along the way,
Did not scream to get their attention.
And those who were there to prevent their despair,
Are now solicited for their suggestions to mention.
But that energy dismissed,
No longer lingers in the air from lips who cared.
Many mistakes by them were made.
And today they make attempts to correct their own nonsense,
But aren't lessons learned when the choice is made to listen?
And not when one decides a time lost can be revived.

My Pride
My pride is my soul
My soul immortal
Break this body
I’ll not ask for mercy
Even undone
I kneel to no one
Me
The only
and one
Make me cry?
I’d rather Die
Nothing is worth begging for
Nothing
Not money
Not fame
Not hunger
Not love
Not life
Nothing
I will not bow
I will no break
Everything you throw
I’ll take
In my book
If you have no pride
You’re not worth knowing!
My pride
My savior
Makes me a god of thunder
The worlds most extraordinary lover
The deepest thinker
Most profound feeler
No one is my match
No one is my equal
I pity those who are not me
They will never know what it’s like
To take life in
With pure greed
Be you mighty
Or meek
Despair and envy me
Look unto me and dream
Of what you could be
For my pride is there
To guide me
To remind me
There is no one greater in this world
Than me
I am almighty
Let the humble bow
I’ll not
When I meet my maker
I will stand before him
And look at his glory
And take my pride
And say ‘look upon it! ’
‘Isn’t it a worthy trophy? ’
‘Is love of my accomplishments
My passing of time
My triumphs
My errors
My glory
Mine crime? ’
Is pride truly the greatest sin?
Did it not save me countless times.
Kept me standing where others fell?
Made decisions my very own?
The essence of individuality
In Escaping conformity?
If asked to part
I’ll say nay
‘Saying but you made me this way! ’
And go my own way
Not entering another’s HIS domain
I’ll have my pride as companion
Always by my side
No one will get the better of me
Not while my pride holds me
For am I not unlike God
Made in his own image?
