When I was a boy and the world was young (Pushkin sonnet)

When I was a boy and the world was young
in my boyhood with immature fancies
still long before you did come along
there were no girlfriends or enemies,

the government send me off to war
to fight enemies I did not deplore
and when you were there with another;
to fight for him, for you and even her,

although everything I was giving
there was some men that I could not save,
without a question I had to be brave
but did my best at my task to stay living

and there they died for someone else's tranquillity,
while the horrors of war is still with and in me.

In Name Of God

In name of God they pillage and destroy
And in name of God they chose to fight and die
And their enemies their enemies because
They worship different God with different laws.

When I was young a wise man said to me
That God belong to all humanity
And that god could only feel disgust and shame
When humans for their war cry use his name.

It's religion that cause the great divide
And in name of God far too many have died
They go to war and worship God in song
But the God they fight for condemn war as wrong.

And even in the twentieth century
We've yet to learn from past history
Still in God's name men go to war and die
Whilst God looks on with disapproving eye.

All's Fair In Love and War

Who said war is civilized,
What idiot made these rules,
It was probably politicians,
That bunch of sad old fools.

Our enemies wear no uniforms,
We are dressed and on display,
While we advertise who we are,
They just go on their merry way.

We train them in the art of war,
Treat them as our friends,
Then they turn round and murder us,
Their evil then transcends.

They blow us up without a thought,
We're told, oh that's allowed,
But if we dare retaliate,
The enemy cry out loud.

There needs to be an inquiry,
Killing us is so unjust,
If you're allowed to fire back,
You won't see us for dust.

Terrorists are all around us,
They could even be you or me,
It's time our so called leaders,
Were brought out here to see,

Our enemies send in children,
We are not allowed to shoot,
We know they're going to kill us,
But our enemies are so astute.

When we kill our aggressors,
The world is in a fury,
We're then charged with murder,
Then put in front of a jury.

If they murder our brave forces,
It's just another dead,
Then when we defend ourselves,
The world goes off its head.

They can murder us for fun,
Yet no one says a word,
No courts or cries for justice,
It really is quite absurd.

If we could fight the same as them,
These conflicts would never last,
The enemy would cry foul,
Then get the hell out fast.

But we must fight a ‘'civilized war'',
We must ask before we kill,
We must follow Geneva convention rules,
While our enemies do what they will.

We must be given equality,
To fight this brutal foe,
If we can fight the same as them,
Then very soon they'll know.

We are not an easy target,
Now we can fight the same as you,
There are no rules of war now,
We can kill just as you do.

You'll no longer know your enemy,
So you'd better watch your back,
For when you least expect it,
That's when we'll attack.

Then soon you'll hear them crying,
This war's no longer fair,
We don't know who our enemies are,
Because of what they wear.

When they see there are no rules,
No restrictions on how we can fight,
They won't know what hit them,
That's when they'll see the light.

They'll then shout out that's not allowed,
Your tactics we abhor,
But we'll just say we're copying you,

‘' All's Fair In Love And War''.

Armistice day

I rewrote a previous poem of mine......

Brave buildings built in honour of
The ones they left behind
With thoughts still whole unspoken
Of a sentimental kind
Of the men who go to war without
Any question of deceit
The ones that die on battlefields
And of serious disease.

For though some wars are over
And many battles lost
These buildings tower over us
So we can count the cost
Lest we forget our fallen men
So shall we every night
Remember those who held their flag
And thought their fight was right.

There's a strangeness now about the world
That’s making this all seem
Like so many leaden soldiers
Just a'marching in our dreams
But though this now is commonplace
And although we hate all war
Those human boyhood soldiers
Are still dying as before.

Why do we all go through this
Time and time again
Why do we fight our politics
With the bodies of brave men
For there's a truth that lies amongst the dead
Both infidel and blessed
And they are clearly asking us
Why we can't put war to rest.

Lest we forget war's horrors
And lest we forget the pain
Then every single bloody war
Will be repeated once again.

Finally I Know Who My Enemy Is...

i am armored
on my hand is the sharpest sword
i am ready for battle
to kill the enemies

your enemies

when i am about to win
and stab the victim
you are there running
towards me
asking that i be forgiving

your enemies are spared
and they all laugh at me

my armor is rusty now
my sword not as sharp as i
once held it

now you have enemies again
asking that i go to battle

who are you? i am not stupid anymore.
Use other mercenaries

and if there is now
Go, fight yourself, and have yourself killed

so i can offer you flowers
for the dead
so i can for once rest and smile
and tell myself

i am free and i work for no one anymore.

My Slate Is Clean of Miseries

There is a joy in me I know is seen.
'Cause I'm not uptight.
Looking for a fight,
No!

And if I do have any enemies...
May they live an afterlife,
In a realm that's more acceptible.

I've wiped my slate clean of those miseries.
None I wish to carry,
Or marry to be download.

I've sliced and diced all that away from me.
And I wont slit my wrists...
To bleed in dripping pity!

There is a happiness in me increased.
With a peace of mind I own,
Straight from sorrows I'd adopted.

I've had to learn to be away from disease.
To figure my life out.
And weed away all nonsense,
From my reach.

There is so much joy seen in me that's deep.
'Cause my jaws are not uptight,
Looking for a fight.
No!

And if I do have any enemies,
May they live an afterlife...
In a realm that's more acceptible.

And if I do have any enemies,
May they live an afterlife...
In a realm that's more acceptible.

And if I do have any enemies,
May they live an afterlife...
In a realm that's more acceptible.

And if I do have any enemies,

I've wiped my slate clean of their miseries.
None I wish to carry,
Or marry to be download.
I've wiped my slate clean of their miseries.
None I wish to carry,
Or marry to be download.

I've wiped my slate clean of their miseries.
And none of that will chip away my peace!

There is a joy in me I know is seen.
'Cause I'm not uptight.
Looking for a fight,
No!

There is a joy in me I know is seen.
'Cause I'm not uptight.
Looking for a fight,

There is a joy in me I know is seen.
'Cause I'm not uptight.
Looking for a fight,

Leave It To Those

Leave it to those with extreme love for their Nation's flag to fight
Leave them to go to war for it since that is their right
Though the reasons for most wars are based on a lie
Leave them to for what they believe in to fight to kill or die
Since the lessons of life he does not wish to know
Leave the one of good health in his eighties his courage to show
In a war zone remove his excuse for not going as his age
Amongst young and aged co warriors leave him to spend his rage
Though getting on in years still not hard to deceive
What their Government leaders tell them without question they believe
Leave the Government leaders who declare war their troops in the war zones lead
Of a President fighting in a war zone we have yet to hear of or read
Remove the excuse of an age barrier for those who want war
Send them with the younger men to fight from home in places far.

The Fight Goes On The Fight Must Never End

The woman conservationists admire
She fights to save the trees of Sherbrooke Shire
A staunch member of the 'Save The Dandenongs Team'
The fight is on to keep the mountain green.

To woods and all green places she's a friend
And the fight goes on the fight must never end
The verbal war the unending war of words
To save the woods and hedgerows for the birds.

The fight is on to save the greenery
To save green places and each precious tree
For future generations to enjoy
The fight goes on and the heated words still fly.

The developer say we'll cut the forest down
And replace the scrubland with a concrete town
But the conservationists keep getting in their way
The woods were always here and the woods will stay.

And the Margaret Douglas's of this world too rare
And the developers too many everywhere
To woods and all green places she's a friend
And the fight goes on the fight must never end.

Equal rights

Why should I love my enemy?
My enemy does not love me
Why should I turn the other cheek?
and give him cause to think I’m weak.

I show my enemy respect
but let him know that I expect
from him similar courtesy.
He can and will expect from me.

If he is wise he understands
I will not bow to his commands.
I am quite sure I have the right
To fight if I am forced to fight.

I can accept you don’t like me
And I dislike you equally
You have the right to your own view
You must remember I do too.

It’s possible to disagree
And yet not be an enemy.
I think we have the right to choose
If we so wish opposing views.

I do not choose my enemies
I would much rather we were friends
I think my enemies choose me
My rights I will fight to defend.

Dear Soldier

Dear brave soldier, you who stand so tall, towering over enemies, then you see them fall, You who have fought so long and hard and you who will stand and fight, leaving your only home for our sacred rights. You who lived in sanctity and died as a martyr, and you who were born good will be in our hearts forever. For you where the greatest soldier that an army could have and you will be remembered as a warrior through the years that will pass.

Christian soldier

The Christian Soldier,

The Christian soldier goes to fight, a war on evil, every day and night,

Fighting for what the Lord God says. Is only right, with all their might;

They fight the enemy, for peace and truth, yet they are so brave,

And Jesus showed why we go, when He died our souls to save.

The Christian soldier has his armor, his breast plate, and His helmet too,

Then comes feet shod with the preparation of peace, this is True

Truth and Mercy are on the soldiers side, for the enemies destruction,

And with it comes the sword of God, and we're safe under Gods redemption.

The Christian Soldier, those, who have been washed and bought with a price,

The price of the lamb, And we'll win the war, against the enemy who isn't nice;

We have the Words of Christ, bestowed on us, promises from above,

They're full of Wisdom, truth, and justice, they were given to us in love.

Bleeds Through: The Truth Will Not be Silenced

Strength and fortitude is my message friends
Tonight we have gathered in this stuffy inn to wage war
Ironic though it be we are practitioners of peace
Our enemies have lived for too long
Our corrupted government has run its course
Now us, The Middle
Comprised of apprentices, journeymen, artisans, and masters
We will not let the Bushwahzee and pious government to reign
Now we fight
Fight as well by our trade
Grab your tools, paper, canvas
Let the arts sing of our heroism
Shall the paper show our retribution to the corners of Europe
Be that all constructs wage revenge and ill tidings
Strength and fortitude amongst us friends
If we divide an hold personal dwellings that linger dear,
Our conquest is forfeit
Bravery my countrymen, our people call for saviors
A New Regime
Lead by the middle to save all lower and equal
Go now all of you time is short and needed
By this time soon can we all rise as equal French
Go now and save all that can be saved
Strength and fortitude
Strength and fortitude
May God help us all

A war song!

I see the soldiers marching on
Singing a cold war song
On the road they hold onto their guns
As the fighting goes on all day long

Fight, March, and fight
Shoot, aim and shoot right
Whether the sun shines, this is war
This is war whether the rains pours

This is war where we kill
Our friends, sisters and brothers
For they are our enemies for real
If they choose against us for another

They go to war
Because of a handful of political men
Who stand alive; in erect offices still holding their pens
The soldiers fight until no one stands up anymore!

Fight, March, and fight
Shoot, aim and shoot right
Whether the sun shines, this is war
This is war whether the rains pours

Dab Nab It

You've got to be who you are,
To free yourself of enemies.
You've got to free yourself from others,
Who have nothing but hate to feed!

You've got to be who you are,
To free yourself of enemies.
And you've got to...
Free yourself from others,
Who have nothing but hate to feed!

The days of throwing those sticks and stones are gone!
Leave them on the ground to be walked around.

Prolonging your agonies just to sing a bluesy song.
Can't last long if you know it's wrong!
Leaving you to toss and turn all night long!

Dag nab it...
Let go of bad habits!
Don't pat but grab 'em,
And send them along.

You've got to be who you are,
To free yourself of enemies.
You've got to free yourself from others,
Who have nothing but hate to feed!

You've got to be who you are,
To free yourself of enemies.
And you've got to...
Free yourself from others,
Who have nothing but hate to feed!

Dag nab it...
Let go of bad habits!
Don't pat but grab 'em,
And send them along.

If you knew this was true...
Why do you do whatcha do?

The days of throwing those sticks and stones are gone!
Leave them on the ground to be walked around.

Prolonging your agonies just to sing a bluesy song.
Can't last long if you know it's wrong!
Leaving you to toss and turn all night long!

So dab nab it,
Let go of bad habits!
Don't pat but grab 'em,
And send them along.

Dab nab it,
Can't you send 'em along?
Dab nab it,
Can't you send 'em along?
Dab nab it,
Can't you send 'em along?

So dab nab it,
Let go of bad habits!
Don't pat but grab 'em,
And send them along.

Dab nab it,
Can't you send 'em along?
Dab nab it,
Can't you send 'em along?
Dab nab it,
Can't you send 'em along?

Damn nab it!
Can't you send 'em along?
Damn nab it!
Can't you send 'em along?

Dab nab it.
Dab nab it.
Dab nab it,
Send those habits along!
Dab nab it.
Don't you know this is wrong?

Dab nab it,
Can't you send 'em along?

Dab nab it.
Dab nab it.

Before They Eat

If you want to know what's there,
Without a big stink...
Stay awake.

If you want to get it first,
And be the one who thinks...
Stay awake.
And,
You wont have to make believe.

If you want to know what's there,
Without a big stink...
Stay awake.

If you want to get it first,
And be the one who thinks...
Stay awake.
And,
You wont have to make believe.

Truth and Love and Harmony,
Seem to me to be free...
Of conflict and disease.
Of War and enemies.

I said it,
Truth and Love and Harmony,
Seem to me to be free...
Of conflict and disease.
Of War and enemies.

Nobody in their right mind,
Wants to meet and greet...
While bleeding.
Or want to fight right away,
Before they eat.

Nobody in their right mind,
Wants to meet and greet...
While bleeding.
Or want to fight right away,
Before they eat.

If you want to know what's there,

Fight

Sometimes there's nothing to feel
Sometimes there's nothing to hold
Sometimes there's no time to run away
Sometimes you just feel so old
The times it hurts when you cry
The times it hurts just to breathe
And then it all seems like there's no-one left
And all you want is to sleep
Fight fight fight
Just push it away
Fight fight fight
Just push until it breaks
Fight fight fight
Don't cry at the pain
Fight fight fight
Or watch yourself burn again
Fight fight fight
Don't howl like a dog
Fight fight
Just fill up the sky
Fight fight fight
Fight til you drop
Fight fight fight
And never never
Never stop
Fight fight fight
Fight fight fight
So when the hurting starts
And when the nightmares begin
Remember you can fill up the sky
You don't have to give in
You don't have to give in
Never give in
Never give in
Never give in

Why Is It?

It makes me angry when I read
how murders, rapists and drug dealers
can be treated like kings;
even the scroungers of our society
are elevated in stature.
Yet our armed forces,
those brave men and women
who go out to battlefields
are frowned upon
and treated with deprivation
by those who send them to war.
They are the last ones to get help,
substandard help at that.
Yet child murders have praise heaped on them,
given new identities
all because they passed a couple of exams.
If you go and fight for your country,
you are treated with scorn
for doing a duty a lot would not do.
Maybe if they refused to go
were would the politicians be.
They would have to enlist
all those they have treated like kings,
the dregs of our society.
Let them go to war with meagre equipment,
let the enemy take their lives
and save us the job
of having to keep them in a kingly fashion.
Of course this will never happen,
only the brave go to fight
while the cowards stay safe at home
and live off what the brave
should be getting and never get.

Soldiers Dilemma

(clarke)
Please answer my question
Why do I have to go to war
I dont believe in the governments greed
I find the whole thing a bore
Well if you think that its right
To fight well then fight
Well please dont ask me to join in
The trouble were in,
How did it begin
Well please dont ask me to fight your war
I aint tired of living
I like to keep it in one piece
I dont like the odds youre giving
You aint having me on a lease
I like to eat three meals a day
In my own lazy way
And you cant keep
That youre giving away for free
Even after Ive protested
Seems I dont have any choice
You put a gun in my hand now
You say Im fighting for peace
Well its just a lie
So why should I die
For something in which I dont believe
Well its so hard
When youre shooting at me
Well all I can do is reply
Chorus
