What lurks beneath civility

Is there an animal
that hides in every heart
and waits for a chance
to materialise?

Is homo homini lupus
etched into every soul
and does every human
wait for an opportunity,
to hunt and destroy
and to gain
from its fellow man.

Is this the way
until the One appears,
who will breake the spears
and dwell in hearts?

Every animal and the lion and the lamb

For the parrot in its cage
the open spaces,
of the jungle remain
and unfolds in its mind.

Though if it escapes
here in the city
it would fly aimlessly,
among the buildings
and not know
where to find food and shelter.

At the zoo lions are camped in
and are placed together,
and fed by human beings.

Away is the field
and game that graze
and and a pan,
or river to get water from.

For the lamb there’s a camp
to graze in
and feed from a human
and to remain
a farmers’ property.

Every animal and the lion and the lamb
and all of us wait
for the child,
that leads animals to freedom
and for the world
to get righteousness.

Darkness And Sorrow

Speedy to the plunder,
Swift to the spoil;
The lion will eat straw like the ox.
A tumultuous noise,
The bricks have fallen down;
Light and joy,
Darkness and sorrow,
The wolf will dwell with the lamb;
To the brook of the willows like,
The Sycamore Tree that are cut down.

Love is as strong as death,
Jealousy is as cruel as the grave;
Listen to my muse oh Earth!
As white as snow,
To shave with a hired razor;
As slow as the tortoise,
The leopard will lie down with the goat;
In a barren night like a stillborn child where,
The teeth of the young lions are broken;
Darkness and sorrow,
Love is as strong as death itself.

How Are The Weak Free?

They will hunt again.
With years to plan.
And sharpen their teeth.
But no one knows, no one knows.
Free the wolf from his cage.
Watch him hunt, stalk his prey.
We let them go.
They will hunt again.
Prey on the simple.
Feast in the temple.
Free the wolf?
We must put him down.
We'll put him down again.
Our protectors hide and grin.

Fat Dogs Wear Well Fed Collars

the wolf cannot wear your collar
the wolf cannot eat your slave bread
the wolf feels a free wind on free face
the wolf hears all sounds freedom fed
the wolf must hunt for its piece of meat
the wolf hunts mountains where free rivers meet
the wolf will starve to death as lean winter creeps
the wolf paints landscapes scenes as death inward seeps
the wolf licks not the beast man’s hand wolf never weeps

Trinidad And Tobago

Trinidad and Tobago,
Bring me my lover and let me rest my mind;
For in that day,
The wolf will dweel with the lamb.

Two rods came out ot the system and,
You called them Trinidad and Tobago;
But in that day,
The leopard will lie down with the young goat!
So bring me my lover and let me rest my mind.

Peace

When lion and lamb have together lain down
Spectators cry out, all in chorus;
'The lamb doesn't shrink nor the lion frown
A miracle's working before us!'

But 't is patent why Hot-head his wrath holds in,
And Faint-heart her terror and loathing;
For the one's but an ass in a lion's skin,
The other a wolf in sheep's clothing.

Death Of A Youth

How old is to old?
How young is to young?
For Death knowns no number
Death knows no age.

I have the same dreams as you.
I have the same hopes and fears as you do.
Then why do I not have the same rights as you do?
Why do you hunt me like a animal in the concrete jungle of life.
Why did you track me down the side walk river.
Then gun me down.

What Devine power made you the hunter and me the prey.
Is it because my eyes are not blue like yours.
Could it be because my skin is dark like the dirty it was created from.

Why do you hunt me.
Don't you know I am not a animal.
I am a man just like you

Lone Wolf

I am a lone wolf
I always was and will be
I feel fine, I am resigned to this
I am a lone wolf
I am a lone wolf
Got my cares
Wrapped up all nice and neat
In my suitcase
Ill take it down the street
To a place with plenty of space for me
I am a lone wolf
I am a lone wolf
It blows my mind
That people wanna try to get inside my tired head
I am a lone wolf
I am a lone wolf
I am a lone wolf
Nobody needs to get too close to me
Youll only see this truth
I am a lone wolf

Gurdjieff

“You are both a wolf
and a lamb.
If you do not stay awake
the wolf will devour
the lamb.”

Oh you, the Living and the Dead!
Both those who earn
and you who claim by right
your daily bread.
Encourage the few
they will become the many.
Encourage the poor
they will reach out for more.
Encourage the young
they will fail to grow up.
Encourage the old
they will grow older.

Why do so many
in public life
wear nametags
nowadays?

“In case they forget
who you are.”

Wolf Man

What do you think about a girl
who fell in love with a wolf man
night after night
she would look at his photo
on an LP record cover
missing him and thinking about him
This girl was me in my younger days
for he looked so serene and beautiful
without knowing his fate that
when the moon rises he will have to turn into
a wolf and roam around the fields and mountains
She didn't know his fate though she knew
he is the wolf man
with the charm he only contained in his feature
with a soul that maddened him and her
simultaneously
They never met in person
but the girl was truly in love with this wolf man
or rather a young boy he was
as young as she was I think 14
him 17 at the most...
One day this girl went to see a movie
about the wolf man
though it was banned for a school girl to go
see a movie by the school authority
she dare went to the theater and watched this movie
Nazareno it was titled
and saw the boy turn into a wolf
and saw that boy in real form
When would she meet this wolf man
in her life?
If fate allows her to see him in person
that will be a love for the first sight!
The boy grew over the years and became a man
a young man who could hand her a hand
to rescue her to rise from her
own seclusion and show her a new world
that would enlighten her soul and body
to be able to truly love someone
she dearly care about,
and that was her fate that she would
finally meet the guy in person
maybe a knight on a white horse
as many would described her him to be
and experience a new life
with and through him.
so this girl was waiting for that knight to arrive
at her door step
but he didn't come
so she had to go all the way across the sea
to eventually find him and meet him
and she is renewed by that knight
not on a white horse but
near her and beside her and with her
Now that her story is complete and
a great helper he became to her
such a soul and feature the man held
with him to show this girl the direction to go to
and led her through the walks of life
She is back home now having met this man
the wolf man who always was in her mind
and the wolf became a human again
and came to this human world.
Now they are here finally
safely arrived from the long
journey life challenged her to take on.

The Lamb and the Wolf (Ballad)

I saw a lamb to wolf turn prey!
I saw it kill’d in gruesome way;
The lamb was rather small, I say;
I saw it frolicking that day;
It bleated while busy at play;
That day, its life, it had to pay;
And soon, I heard a plaintive cry;
The grass was smeared by lamb’s blood dry!
My good shepherd, “Did you not know? ”
My God, “Did You all this allow? ”

The wolf was dressed in fine lamb-skin;
It killed by habit, kith and kin;
Like lamb, it spoke and went so near;
It acted friendly, allayed fear;
It took the lamb afar to play;
The lamb was foolish on that day;
It was so meek and frail, not bold;
It wished to see the far-off world.
My good shepherd, “Did you not know? ”
My God, “Did You all this allow? ”

The wolf then took the lamb away,
To steep a cliff with grass to play;
In moment’s time, it pushed it down;
The foul-play was almost half-done;
The lamb remained so very dazed;
That it was live, kept me amazed;
Before it could then recover,
The wolf made plans to devour.
My good shepherd, “Did you not know? ”
My God, “Did You all this allow? ”

The wolf noticed the lamb’s sad plight
And asked if it was quite alright;
It said, “I’ll take you to mother.”
The lamb believed the lie, brother!
It took it round and round and round;
There was no sign of flock on ground;
The lamb had gone really far;
Against the wolf, it could not war.
My good shepherd, “Did you not know? ”
My God, “Did You all this allow? ”

The lamb couldn’t walk any farther;
To pray to God, it didn’t bother;
It was so tired, hungry too;
It did not know what next to do;
The wolf then caught the lamb by throat;
The blood spilled down its white fur-coat;
The lamb was dead in moments split;
The wolf ate lamb and tried to sit;
My good shepherd, “Did you not know? ”
My God, “Did You all this allow? ”

The wolf had feasted like a drill;
It ate with joy and had its fill;
It worked its way with pretty skill;
It left no trace of lamb on hill;
It was the poor lamb’s folly still.
The lamb had vanished from the rill;
It was too weak to fight by will;
The lamb had died a death cruel.
My good shepherd, “Did you not know? ”
My God, “Did You all this allow? ”

O shepherd good and experienced
With staff so long and strong and hooked;
If you had been awake and heard
The poor lamb’s cry, you could it saved;
If you had spotted wolf disguised,
One blow by staff you could have killed;
If you had watched with care, brother,
It would have stayed near its mother;
My good shepherd, “Did you not know? ”
My God, “Did You all this allow? ”

Then good shepherd, “Why didn’t you come
To save lamb’s life from wolf’s welcome? ”
The little lamb didn’t know wolf’s scent;
It was too small and innocent;
Its legs were weak and could not run;
It thought that life was only fun;
If more alert had been shepherd,
The lamb needn’t go astray or erred.
My good shepherd, “Did you not know? ”
My God, “Did You all this allow? ”

Had shepherd failed to act aright?
Had wolf deceived the lamb’s eye-sight?
Did not God know the lamb’s poor plight?
How could a lamb give wolf a fight?
Was it an act of destiny?
Was lamb to blame for mutiny?
Perhaps, the lamb was bound to die,
Allured by wolf’s broad day-light lie!
My good shepherd, “Did you not know? ”
My God, “Did You all this allow? ”

Hungry Like The Wolf

in touch with the ground
I'm on the hunt I'm after you
smell like I sound I'm lost in a crowd
and I'm hungry like the wolf
straddle the line in discord and rhyme
I'm on the hunt I'm after you
mouth is alive with juices like wine
and I'm hungry like the wolf
stalked in the forest too close to hide
I'll be upon you by the moonlight side
do do do do do do do dodo dododo dodo
high blood drumming on your skin it's so tight
you feel my heart I'm just a moment behind
do do do do do do do dodo dododo dodo
in touch with the ground
I'm on the hunt I'm after you
scent and a sound I'm lost and I'm found
and I'm hungry like the wolf
strut on a line it's discord and rhyme
I howl and I whine I'm after you
mouth is alive all running inside
and I'm hungry like the wolf
hungry like the wolf
hungry like the wolf
hungry like the wolf
buring the ground I break from the crowd
I'm on the hunt I'm after you
I smell like I sound I'm lost and I'm found
and I'm hungry like the wolf
strut on a line it's discord and rhyme
I'm on the hunt I'm after you

Homo Erectus

(kinky friedman & panama red)
I left barber college
Searchin for knowledge,
Went to the university.
I must confess, sir
This lady professor
She turned me on to anthropology.
Now Im a homo erectus
Got to connect this
Bone that I discovered yesterday.
Tyrannosaurus
Lived in the forest,
Died because its heart got in the way.
Dear doctor howard
Come down from your tower
And join me for lunch at the y.
Although youre thirty
I still think youre pretty
Lets give it that good ole college try.
cause Im a homo erectus
Got to connect this
Bone that I discovered yesterday.
Tyrannosaurus
Lived in the forest,
Died because its heart got in the way.
Ok!
Hey jomo kenyatta
No, no, youre not a
Australopithecine boogieman.
Its took us a jillion
But were all still here, been
Boogeyin since boogeyin began.
And Im a homo erectus
Got to connect this
Bone that I discovered yesterday.
Tyrannosaurus
Lived in the forest,
Died because its heart got in the way.
You know Im a homo erectus
Got to connect this
Bone that I discovered yesterday.
Tyrannosaurus lived in the forest,
Died because its heart got in the way.
You know that Im a homo erectus
Got to connect this
Bone that I discovered yesterday.
Tyrannosaurus
Lived in the forest,
Died because its heart got in the way.
Im but a homo erectus
Got to connect this
Bone that I discovered yesterday.
Tyrannosaurus
Lived in the forest,
Died because its heart got in the way.
Watch out for homo erectus ...

The german
Has “wer”

Say “vir” for virility
“wer” meaning man
“wulf” meaning wolf

a vir-wolf
a man-wolf

a man taking the shape of a wolf
retaining his virility, his man-ness

his madness
about his prey,

the brute that wears

The Hungry Wolf

its stalks those you feel joy and happiness
and feeds off misery and self-doubt
until they're dead
they can no longer scream or shout

It skulks around the in the shadows
waiting for the sounds of a lover, with a broken heart
or a mother cring for her lost child
it can be so close, but u'd never know, for no one is that smart

The wolf knows, all good things must come to an end
he finds couples that are in love and just waits
when one gets thier heart broke, and waits for it to mend
the darkness provides a perfect place for the Wolf to strike

Banished Wolf

Banished wolf chased off from her home
Banished wolf left with no place to roam
Banished wolf lies in the cold rain
Banished wolf tries to ease her pain
Banished wolf begins to cry
Banished wolf wants to die
Banished wolf tries to stop her tears
Banished wolf drowns in her fears
Banished wolf felt her world grow black
As her lover cried death just before the attack
Banished wolf licks her wounds
While her whole world is falling to ruins
Banished wolf cleans her cut
And as she does so her pain ease somewhat
Banished wolf wears her scars
Through a life full of years instead of hours
Banished wolf let the past be the past
Banished wolf left the gloom that it cast
Banished wolf lives her life today
And she would not have it anyother way

One dark night

I

One dark night
the sheep are restless
and not able to sleep,
but there’s no wolf
or lion or other wild animal
trying to catch them
and there’s a strange light
hanging high with the other starts.

It’s as if the whole field around us
are waiting on something mystic to happen
and all the wild animals are awake
and here and there
lightning bolts are hitting white blue
out of an open sky.

II

While this is happening
we sit with anxiety around
a bright hot campfire
on which we put more logs
time after time
and gaze into the night
and wonder what is coming?

Suddenly a mighty being appears
surrounded by blinding white light
and it’s clear that he comes
from the almighty God
and we are speechless with fear
and scared to be in the presence
of a holy being.

III

l’Envoi
His voice is clear in pitch and sound
and sounds more pure
than bells ringing
and he tells of a child
that is born,
a Son,
being called:

Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father
and Prince of Peace
and that He is the Christ and the Messiah.

In Bethlehem, just over the hill
we will find Him
wrapped in cloth in a manger
between farm animals.

Reoccurring symptoms
Answer the baleful howl
Bringing me dreams of darkness
The doer of all thats foul
Raping the minds of infants
Sower of unplanted seeds
Full moon warrior
Doer of sordid deeds
Witch wolf
Night rider
Why do you call for me?
Thirteenth hour madman
Bringing my soul to fire
Visions of my sweet beulah
To torment soon retire
Witch wolf
Night rider
Why do you call for me?
Got my one-way ticket
On this hell bound train
I cant seem to stop falling
I bear the wrath of cain

Why do you call for me?
