As if just asleep I was waken
with the light shining brightly in my eyes,
when darkness did disappear suddenly
and I came alive again.
There is nothing strange to tell anyone,
as I bear no knowledge of exactly how death is
and everyone keeps asking inquisitive
but I cannot disguise my own ignorance.
Here I heard children laughing joyfully
and became aware of the sun shining bright,
to me the light of God was always present,
as a kind of presence in the dark night.
As if just asleep I was waken

Something was pulling me
Without knowing what was leading me on

There is a Light, an Uncreated Beam
In which the Glory of God can be seen
A pure and holy and an Eternal light
It is seen in Jesus shining so bright
A light brighter than the noonday sun
Shines from the Lord, the Righteous One

Shouldve touched some wood

Hes Alive
The gates and doors were barred
And all the windows fastened down
I spent the night in sleeplessness
And rose at every sound
Half in hope of sorrow
And half in fear the day
Would find the soldiers breakin through
To drag us all away
And just before the sunrise
I heard something at the wall
The gate began to rattle
And a voice began to call
I hurried to the window
Looked down into the street
Expecting swords and torches
And the sound of soldiers feet
But there was no one there but mary
So I went down to let her in
John stood there beside me
As she told me where shed been
She said theyve moved him in the night
And none of us know where
The stones been rolled away
And now his body isnt there
We both ran towards the garden
Then john ran on ahead
We found the stone and empty tomb
Just the way that mary said
But the winding sheet they wrapped him in
Was just an empty shell
And how or where theyd taken him
Was more than I could tell
Oh something strange had happened there
Just what I did not know
John believed a miracle
But I just turned to go
Circumstance and speculation
Couldnt lift me very high
cause Id seen them crucify him
Then I saw him die
Back inside the house again
The guilt and anguish came
Everything Id promised him

When at last it came to choices
I denied I knew his name

Moon Shining Over The London Bridge
The sky is dark now
And the night is here again
But there is a moon shining over the London Bridge right over the sky
And I keep watching that moon while I rest for a while at the Thames River
But I can't take my eyes of the moon that is shining over the London Bridge right over the sky because it is beautiful to see
And at the same time it is getting late now but I don't mind at all because I Rather stay all night at The Thames river watching the moon shining over The London Bridge right over the sky
Yes the Big Ben chined midnight now and London is going to sleep
But I am falling asleep now at The Thames river below the naked three That is there at the Thanes River
Also all the buildings near The Thames river have their lights out
And I am sleeping in totall darkness and at the same time enjoying the Peace and quiet of the Thames river during the night
But near the Thames River is always cold and I don't mind at all Because I am dressed for this kind of weather
But this night at the Thames River I will always remember because it Will be the best sleep I ever had in years

Ever since we crawled out of that primordial slime, that's been our unifying cry, More light. Sunlight. Torchlight. Candlight. Neon, incandescent lights that banish the darkness from our caves to illuminate our roads, the insides of our refrigerators. Big floods for the night games at Soldier's field. Little tiny flashlights for those books we read under the covers when we're supposed to be asleep. Light is more than watts and footcandles. Light is metaphor. Light is knowledge, light is life, light is light.

What Dante Told Me
The golden crescent of the moon
was shining through my window
when I fell asleep.
Soon a soft astral darkness enveloped me
bringing along a vivid and strange dream.
A bright sun was shining in the firmament
and I found myself in a Tuscan landscape,
hiking on the old Via Apia.
It was an early afternoon
and suddenly I saw a man in the distance
walking toward me from the south.
As he came closer I recognized him.
It was the poet Dante Alighieri.
'Oh, Sommo Poeta',
I accosted him timidly,
'Please, tell me, does love really exist,
or is it just a romantic figment
of our wishful imagination?
Can love be really perfect,
unconditional and eternal? '
Dante gave me a long inquisitive look.
And then, after a pensive silence
he began to speak:
'Amor himself once told me', he said,
'Ego tanquam centrum circuli,
cui simili modo
se habent circumferentiae partes:
Tu autem non sic! '
But what does this mean? ' I asked.
'It means'. he explained,
'that I'm as the centre of a circle,
to which the parts of the circumference
have a similar relation:
However, you are not so.'
'You forgive me', I said,
'but even in translation
I don't understand it.'
'Well, it means', he said,
'that you shouldn't demand more
than what life can afford to you.'
