as if here in Africa dark things do sneak about
and when the stars appear you start to long
for tomorrows when the sun hangs bright in the blue sky
and it feels as if something almost touchable sneaks up on you.

I Thought I Saw You Last Night
Im not easily scared by things that go bump in the night
Theres not many things that give me a fright
I can walk down a lonely block
And not alot can make my old knees knock
But theres one thing that scares me the most
Its when I think I see a ghost
And I thought I saw you last night
Ive been lately thinking about oujia board
And maybe contacting souls seated by the lord
Cause all the shadows on my street

Childhood Is...
Childhood is hanging your pictures on the refrigerator, and tea parties you always have to cater.
Childhood is chasing butterflies and picking flowers,
playing with blocks and making towers.
Childhood is hating nap time,
and thinking everything is always MINE
Childhood is crayons and coloring books,
Playing hide and go seek in all the right nooks.
Childhood is falling asleep to your favorite lullaby,
wishing you had wings so you could soar into the sky.
Childhood is only crying over a scrapped knee,
or being stung by a bumble bee
Childhood is thinking boys have cooties,
or your mom making you wear itchy booties.
Childhood is ruining mommy's new leather,

The Magic Of The Night
The night is filled with a thousand stars
and my heart is filled with you.
The night is filled with a shiny moon
and my eyes are shining too.
For they see beyond the nighttime
and its magic in the skies.
They see a picture of loveliness
when they look into your eyes.
The night is filled with nighttime sounds
and my heart is sounding too.
The night is filled with sleeping sounds
while my body is next to you.
And I hear beyond the nighttime
and all the sounds it makes.
I hear the sound I love the best
and all it ever takes
to bring me back to morning
so I can hear you say,

Then I can start my day.
